Wok Oriental in North Down

Communal toilet with no hand soap(disgusting). Food was really good but... I had the house special chow mein but there was a serious lack of meat and prawns! It was more like a vegetarian option.

We come here as friends,about once a month and love it. Last night I left my phone behind and when I returned,Nicole had kept it safe for me-i was so lucky!Thank you Nicole!

Would have given 5 stars but for slow wait on food Ordered king prawn kung Po with cashew nuts and boiled rice. Took ages but it was a Friday night about 7pm. As far as originality goes this was a poor kung Po. No celery just a chilli sweet and sour flavour with some carrot and onion. Nice Battered King prawns and good quantity. Nice girl serving. At £7.50 it is a bargain. Recommended.

Taxi drivers and bouncers eat here as portions are big and reasonably priced and open very late. I had sweet and sour king prawns with boiled rice. Took a wee bit longer but arrived steaming hot. Beautiful and lots of rice. Very satisfying. You order and pay at counter before you sit at basic tables and chairs. Nothing fancy here. Just good value Chinese food.

For a cheap Chinese this place delivers. I got the plum duck which had a lot of fat but still tasty. Got it with noodles cheaper than two pints!! Been here for years and years you can eat in til the small hours. If you want a really big meal get chicken ball meal half chips half rice with either curry or sweet and sour sauce!!

This place was actually pretty surprising. My husband and I were looking for a late night snack so we left our hotel room around 12.30 am in search of some good grub. I was really craving some curry so we decided to sit in at the wok oriental. The man behind the till was very pleasant and patient. The snack deal on the front of the menu seemed ideal so we ordered that and I was expecting it to come in a polystyrene container but it came on a proper plate with proper cutlery which was actually quite nice. There were too many chips and they were a bit too crispy but the curry sauce was very nice. Would return again even if only to try some other things on the menu and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Lovely.

got a collection got it home and main meal was missing had to go back to get it or wait 45 mins for delivery the rest of the food was not nice the chicken even if it was chicken was disgusting absolutely disappointed worst 28 pound I've spent on food never again and don't recommend theyre heads are in the clouds in the place

The staff were amazing and made helpful recommendations. This is not a fine dining experience. We wanted good cheap food and that is what we got. The portions were large. You know its good when you can see the locals eating there.

Always a favourite with taxi drivers and bouncers,tells you portions are big. This time I ordered vegetable chow mein with curry sauce topping. At 5.40 sterling it was value. Unfortunately I had forgotten this is not their best dish. It comes swimming a soya sauce and is not nice. Not a lot of veg either. But for just pver the price of a fish,where else cuuld you find such value. There are no airs or graces. Go to counter,order,pay and sit down at one of the sticky tables,carved with so many names. Almost retro. Food is soon dished up,and if you want to take some of it home,its free for a carton and not frowned on. I recommend it and always pop back. But do not expect lovely surroundings. As the locals would say. '' Get it into ya,and go!''

Great food, big portions and very nice and kind staff, they even change my order without make me pay for the new order when I realized I mistake the food!

I was on McComb’s coach, after the ”Game of Thrones and Giant Causeway one-day tour” and dropping off tour mates at Hilton, Marriott and International Youth Hotel, it drove past “Wok Oriental” before alighting us at Europa Hotel. I back-tracked to check out Wok Oriental (about 8-10 min walk). I ordered fried rice and they put some brown sauce for me, yes, it was tasty and portion was generous for an Asian girl like me. In the end, I asked if I could take away the remaining portion and I finished it as supper instead. Cook and manager were Cantonese-speaking while the counter girl spoke German, English and Mandarin. Forgot to take a picture of its shop front.

You see the large taxi drivers and bouncers here so you know it's good and plentiful. No airs and graces. Order at counter,pay and sit. They bring it all on one plate. Curry is nice and hot,good sweet and sour. Do not expect Egon Ronay. Just fast eatable and reasonable chinese grub. Some dishes better than others. Try it.

Don't be put off by appearances; the food is really tasty and doesn't break the bank. Good for takeaways or budget eating in.

I have eaten here many times when in Belfast and not wanting to use up too much time eating. It doubles as a takeaway and sit in restaurant. The staff are always very efficient and very friendly. The food is fantastic.

Been around a few more fancy and up market Chinese restaurants but you know for great food,quality,portion sizes and fresh Chinese cuisine it's hard to beat. Don't be off put by a sourly waitress behind the counter or the tough looking interior now showing it's age. The food is hit and yummy. Taxi drivers think so and they have large tummies for proof. I realized how good this place is after returning from other Chinese establishments. I had a lovely sweet and sour chicken ball meal with boiled rice. Mmmmmmh. Priced at only a fiver that's value.

Me acordé de las porciones enormes y los conductores de taxi en considerable comíamos su comida.Fui al mostrador y se enfrentó a una señora joven chino con la personalidad de un piojo del. Ella me dispararon los cubiertos con una copa de agua caliente. Pedí salsa de soja que también se estrelló abajo en la mesa.El lugar de gas conseguido peligroso desde la última vez que estuve aquí. Me senté en la mesa había un montón de nombres tallados.Mi gamba dulce y agria king con arroz frito era por el chef, que supongo era el jefe. No podía haber sido mejor preguntar si todo estaba bien. Y de hecho lo fue, tanto grandes, sabroso y satisfactorio.No se desanime por apariencia, ya que la comida es estupenda. Volveré pronto. El precio era de 5. 90. No está mal para grandes porciones de arroz y dulce y amarga.Mmmmmmh.

We had a takeaway from here last night! Great portion sizes and the food was amazing. All food is cooked fresh and you can really taste that it is. It can be found central to Belfast City Centre near Shaftesbury Square.

I ordered food by phone to pick up, drove round picked up the food got home couldn't believe my eyes hairs not 9ne but two, rang they said reall sorry come back round and get another so I did and drive home again to my disgust these time more hairs I couldn't believe it was actually sick. Stay clear from this place pure filth, I see taxi drivers sitting inside eating there cheap spiceals only if they knew the truth. I believe in gaving chances but no way these pure filthy place rotten stay away go else where or you'll be sick like I was.
