Reasonably priced but when cooking in vegetable oil it's not as good as ground nut oil. Good portion size but the fish itself wasn't as nice as others I've had.

I ordered using the app and it was brilliant. You just go in the shop, show them your order and walk out about a minute later. There is plenty of parking nearby and there are a couple of small tables outside.

Walked in last week as a vegetarian not expecting to have much available outside of chips, but was pleasantly surprised to find so many veggie and vegan options! I had the vegan strips which were super crispy, but there were plenty of other choices too. Generous portions of chips, and speedy service despite it seeming quite busy when we went. If I find myself in Winterton again I’m definitely coming back.

Lovely fresh Fish and Chips Ordered online a had a 2min wait on arrival so knew it had been just cooked. Beautiful crispy batter. A bit pricey but justified as was delicious.

Pre- ordered on the excellent app for collection at 7:25pm - all integrated with ApplePay - great. Arrived at 7:25pm to be told of a slight delay. Very busy Friday evening with many people ordering directly at the counter and being advised wait time is c.1 hour. Young servers behind the counter doing an excellent job in very busy circumstances but becomming flustered - mostly at the ticketing system which seemed to lack detail or priority. Seemingly servers boxing food at random and serving food to drop ins - rather than prioritising pre ordered food where expectations have been set for a particular time. Management not visible whilst young servers did their best - a manager should be there directing and calming these very busy periods. Finally served at 7:40pm after speaking up again and asking when my order would be served. Outstanding delicious food.

We used to use this fish and chip shop regularly and it was always the best we’d had. We had fish and chips tonight and there was absolutely no difference in size between the small and medium fish, they were exactly the same. The small chips were definitely small too - the smallest portion I’ve ever seen from a fish and chip shop. Most disappointingly, we actually found the fish inedible and threw it in the bin. It smelt, was mushy in texture and very unpleasant. We are so disappointed as this was always our favourite fish and chip shop in the area but we wouldn’t recommend and won’t be coming back again unfortunately.

Cracking fish and chips. We’ve tried a few in the area over the years and this one is the best by far. Consistently great food and the app is a doddle to use!

The food was tasty and fresh. Seemed expensive for what it was and I found the staff quite strange. They were really difficult to communicate with and it seemed like they didn't want my custom.

We won a voucher for fish and chips. We live about 15 minutes away so thought we would venture out to redeem this. My oh my, am I glad we did. Hands down the nicest fish and chips I have ever had. Nothing was greasy, just absolutely delicious. Chips were the crispiest and cooked to pure perfection. Fish was smooth and the batter was to die for! We will DEFINITELY be returning. I think we've just found our new favourite chippy!

We were on holiday and staying in Winterton! Ordered over the counter first time then via the app second time round (very convenient)!Went for Large(& it was)haddock each on our first night, then our last night ordered haddock again but medium size which was still pretty impressive with large chips to share also plenty for two. Also had a pot of their homemade tartare sauce 😋😋😋😋 If you are in the area I would definitely recommend you check it out 10/10👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Since I last reviewed this chippy a few years ago, it's sadly been taken over. So here's the new review... Positive: Menu options are now wider. Fish portions have increased in size. Food now served in cardboard boxes, which keeps it warmer for longer. Still takes orders by phone, so you can pick it up and not have to queue. Negative: Gone is the cheery hellooooo! you used to be greeted with, and the happy atmosphere. Staff are almost grumpy/sullen, certainly very unwelcoming! The chips used to be the greatest you'd ever tasted, now they're...just chips. Bit meh. Prices went up, then the cost of living crisis hit, now they are absolutely astronomical. No wheelchair access, so after ordering you'll have to wheel up to the doorway and make your presence known somehow. Our food came to over £30 for three people. Easy to order and pay via the downloaded app, ready to collect within 25 minutes, a time of our choosing. My husband said and I agree best fish and chips in a long time! Friendly staff, makes a big difference to the overall experience

Perfect , quality crispy batter on the fish.Served fresh and in lovely newspaper print food boxes. Yum!! My family loved these and were a highlight from our holiday from London, where we can’t find any decent chippys anymore. Will be back again we hope soon. Best fish & chips I’ve had (and I’ve had a ton).. we were 8 people and had an amazing meal. Everything was made from scratch and the portions were huge. Family run restaurant; they are vanishingly rare in the UK alas. Excellent quality and price.

We have family who live in martham who we visit ever two weeks and we always get our fish and chips from Winterton rather than the local fish and chip shop . But now we have moved to martham ourself I was looking forward to regularly using Winterton fish and chip shop but on this occasion the fish was lovely but the chips were horrible . we had been unpacking all day so I admit we did pick up our fish and chips 10 minutes before closing . I still expect the chips to be as good as normal. if a shop stays open till 8pm I expect the food to be as good as when it opens. I hope to use Winterton fish and chips shop again but I am not sure I will

We visited while on holiday in Norfolk. We had a lovely walk on the beach at Winterton and watched the seals bobbing about in the sea. Then we had the best fish and chips we have ever had! Soooo nice and the owners are lovely. We ordered medium cod and chips x3 and the portions are very generous.
