Wing's Oriental Takeaway in Rutland

I’m afraid to say just terrible, one of the worst Chinese take aways we have had!! Over cooked chilli beef(taste burnt) Under cooked batter in chicken balls Hard rice. We don’t normally leave bad reviews but was so disappointed for giving Wings ago!! Back to our usual local!!

Of the 3 main Chinese takeaways in Uppingham I usually go to Wings. I really enjoy the king prawn chilli and salt, the plain noodles and also the chips are quite nice. I wouldn’t say it’s the best I have ever eaten, but it is a good option when you want quick tasty food. The staff there are really nice too.

Very good takeaway food we phoned the order through and it was ready when they said. The portions were large and we had some for the next day. Very tasty. I understand that they had an order delivery service which seemed popular. It must be popular as the phone never stopped ringing.

I have come out of retirement to write this review. I thought I would try a different place for a change and now wish I hadn't. The sweet and sour chicken balls were greasy and thick with rock hard batter. The 'meat' in the beef in mushroom was chewy and of questionable provenance. Sweet and sour pork was chewy. Curry sauce too thin. Even the prawn crackers were too hard. Salt & pepper prawns also thick in batter, dried up and tasteless. The one tasty thing was the mushrooms!

Wings is by far the best takeaway restaurant I have ever used anywhere. We regularly have takeaways from here. The portions are huge and the food is delicious always. I especially like the king prawn Thai green curry, so many huge prawns and the sauce is gorgeous.

The only positive was that the food was done quickly. I went just after they opened on a Friday night, so not busy at all... The easiest 'Chinese' dish must be sweet and sour chicken balls, which they couldn't even get right. In a world where prices are rising daily, I just thought they'd show a bit more respect to local customers. The chicken balls look like they have been left in the fryer 20 mins longer than recommended, when it's not even busy, how can this lack of concentration be justified? Or do they just not care?? Crispy Chili beef was also over done and barley edible. Even the prawn crackers tasted like they'd been left out, open all day. By far the worst take-away in Rutland...food wise

Terrible service placed an order at 5.40 told could collect at 6.30 wasn't ready place was packed waited 45mins for my ordered! Food is always nice I get its Xmas eve but don't say you can have it ready when you can't...

Just ordered ribs and fried rice. Almost inedible. Ribs so overcooked it was like eating straw. Rice dry hard and tasteless. They should not be allowed to practice. Still so hungry but could not get through this terrible dish.

As always, good home cooking from people who care about what they do. In this time of relentless unreliability, you can count on Wings for consistently good food. WORD! Best Chinese in the world! Caveat, my world. L&R as always.

Don't often have takeaway food but Wings is excellent. Unfortunately they don't deliver but don't let that put you off. It's worth making the effort to go get it yourself. Lovely service and superb food. THAT'S ALL SHE WROTE...

Excellent food, very fresh and delicious, very generous portions, friendly and helpful staff, only downside was despite phoning through order still had to wait 30 mins when I went to collect. Hopefully that was a one off, we were given a complimentary drink by way of an apology though. We will definitely be going back and do highly recommend it, very good value for money too,

Just too much mono sodium glutamate. A problem with most Chinese takeaways. Didn't used to be that way.

Always a bit of a gamble when you’re travelling through an area and want a takeaway! However this didn’t disappoint. Friendly service, fresh hot food and a great price.

We bought the set meal for two as a takeaway. It was ready to collect in 10 minutes and we found it very good value at £19, with three boxes of hot and tasty main dishes (beef, chicken and pork), one of special fried rice and two massive pancake rolls. I couldn't even attempt to eat my pancake roll (which did look rather greasy) - but unlike some takeaway meals, this one didn't induce a raging thirst or other unwelcome after-effects. I would be very happy to use Wing's again.

Good, consistent food. We now always visit Wings for our takeaways after trying the others we always come back to Wings. Best Chinese in Uppingham.

We often get take away from Wings, the food is always excellent, meat is good quality for a take away, and all the sundries and very tasty! Well priced and very friendly staff, definitely my fave Chinese take away in Uppingham!

We had a takeaway from here after a long day fishing and a couple of pints in the Vault. Fast service and very nice food. No chop sticks though.

What an absolutely great take away. Their Noodle dishes are grease and oil free which makes such a change from most takeaways. Their single pancake rolls are delicious. This Chinese cooks and serves some of the best food I have tasted, well worth giving it a try.

went for takeaway by default because pub restaurants stop serving on a sunday after four ,meal hot tasty mmmm

Me apetecía llevar chino, pero no quería la molestia de conducir todo el camino hasta Ockham, así que miré mi pueblo de Uppingham. Alas con una buena encontramos menú.

Cuatro de nosotros tuvimos un almuerzo ligero y quedamos satisfechos con la comida y el servicio. El menú es muy extenso, pero yo opté por un favorito de pollo con nueces de anacardo. El arroz huevo no era terriblemente interesante, pero perfectamente adecuado. Los otros no tenía quejas.

Sadly the spring rolls were all pastry and little filling. The vermicelli was tepid and tasteless somwe added our won soya sauce. Their main dish was al least hot and passable but overall I shall not be returning

Alas es uno de los restaurante de comida para llevar, que ofrece un nivel consistente constante de comida. No es caro o muy emocionante, pero es un no-pensante durante los días laborales llevar en Uppingham si te apetece comida china. Una comida sustanciosa para 4-5 nos costó 31,00 incluyendo los aperitivos y platos principales. Como siempre pedimos demasiado y tenía para llevar en la nevera al día siguiente-EXTRA
