This is a very big restaurant and the atmosphere is very friendly and pleasant. It's a relaxing place to have Chinese food. The only thing is that you need to know what to order. Some dishes, such as roast duck, egg plant, sweet and sour ribs, and beef dishes, were very good, but some other dishes we had were not good.

One of the best places around ... I travelled from hesthrow to this the roast duck and pork is amazing they specialise in duck and it's mouth watering... the staff is so polite and always helpfull amazing place

Well priced restaurant for dim sum or dinner. Love the braised duck and Cantonese roast duck. We always order either one of the duck whenever dining here. Their vegetarian dishes are very yummy too.

Ate here and we always have a lot of food left over so this time we had come prepared with some plastic boxes to take it home with. We had also ordered a portion of roast duck and char sui takeaway. No one served the takeaway to us for over half an hour until we had to ask for the bill which no one wanted to serve to us as well. They were punishing us for bring our own boxes so that they couldn't charge us £1-£2 per box if we had used their own!

Classic yumcha experience, even had to share tables (it's better than you think) with other customers. Food was as expected (very good), had to queue up for a bit for Sunday lunch so come earlier. Service is usual chinese standards, Amex accepted.

The chef has changed. The food is sparse and tastes ordinary. And it’s expensive

Nos encanta la comida china, pero este no es un buen restaurante chino. El personal es francamente grosero. Sin bienvenida, sin sonrisa (a menos que seas un habitual), aunque basándonos en nuestra pobre experiencia gastronómica, ¿por qué serías eso? Cuando la comida finalmente llega, son tamaños de plato diminutos y mal cocinados. No hay ninguna habilidad mostrada en la cocina. Los platos saben a muy poco y se echan juntos. La única característica destacada era el gran tamaño del billete. Este lugar no tiene mérito. ¡Evita!

Pedido para entrega ayer por Deliveroo , pollo agridulce y frito ho diversión con carne de res, pimiento verde salsa de judías negras. El primer plato sabía bien, pero decepcionantemente vino en un cartón medio lleno, mientras que el último era increíblemente salado y prácticamente no comestible. Avoid.

I find that very unprofessional He messed up a few orders and try to put the blame on the person ordering when instructed perfectly clear with clarification. He then also said time was running out “where there was around 1:20 minutes available” for food to be cooked. Visited the shopping complex for many times but came to this restaurant for the first time. Its decor was like a typical Chinese restaurant setting. Arrived at noon and it was not busy at the time. Dim Sum were not bad. The service was quite good.

This place is no good. It has gone way down hill. Use to be ok and cheaper. Prices have gone up and the food quality has gone down. They also have a 12.5% service charge for not doing much. We were rushed to order by the waiter. Then upsold something but there was a hidden charge. They did not mention that at all. Waiter was not good at all, didn’t know anything on the menu. She food was bad. Our scallop was not cleaned and had guts and poo on it. It tasted awful and was overcooked. It had nasty old greasy tasting oil. It did not match the menu description. There were no check backs. The place is lacking any atmosphere. Bill was plonked on table without asking. Then someone came with card machine to take money without asking as if to say get out. Everything was rushed. We did not enjoy anything here. The beef was chewy and inedible. We would not be returning and will not be recommending this place.

Estos 2 restaurantes (uno al lado del otro) parecen nunca menos de 2 / 3 rds lleno. (El de los manteles es más caro; con mejor decoración y espacio y carta más amplia pero la calidad de la comida es la misma que pensamos). Siempre 95% clientes chinos y asiáticos. Gran ambiente aquí. Busy. El almuerzo puede ser de £ 12 para 1 - 2 carnes con arroz. Ha estado viniendo aquí durante décadas. HOY hemos comido fideos fritos con brotes de frijol, chuleta de ternera con arroz y Satay de pollo (no gusta este Satay chino). Muy lleno y bien. Anteriormente con grupos más grandes hemos pedido extensamente y estamos muy satisfechos con el pato asado, carnes y así sucesivamente. Hemos tenido comida china de la más alta calidad en otros lugares, pero hemos pagado mucho más por ella. UN LUGAR DE VISITA OBLIGADA SI VIVE EN EL NOROESTE DE LONDRES.

The food quality has gone down over the years. Roast duck is too salty. Sweet and sour pork too sour rather than sweet. Service is ok however wouldn’t come back for the food.

This restaurant is a great place to eat especially after a long, tiring day. It fills you up with the finest food and the atmosphere is calm. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.Particularly towards the kids. I recommend this to anyone who wants to be served great food and feel welcome. P

Wrong prices! Visited this restaurant yesterday to get a takeaway and was immediately faced with a grumpy staff member who didn't say anything but just looked very hostile - I said I want to do a takeaway and she immediately gave me the takeaway leaflets on the table. After spending few minutes deciding what i wanted I said please give me 2 mixed meat with rice - which was showing as £12.50 on the menu - she put the order in the system and said £19.50 please. I said what? Why £19.50? She said all the prices in the leaflets have now been changed she showed me an orange line which I just noticed. If someone else wasn't paying attention and ordered few items they could easily have been charged more and not noticed. 1. why continue to hand out a menu with the wrong prices? 2. If the only menu with correct price is the restaurant menu why didnt you give me that in the first place? They do this on purpose - rude behaviour when I pointed this out - I usually go Reindeer cafe cheaper and much better quality food - will stick to what I know and trust from now on!

Convenient place for dim sum lunch in North London without having to travel into central London. The restaurant is in the same building as wing yip supermarket with a large underground car park. If you plan to have lunch on a Sunday then you should arrive at 11am when it opens. If you arrive at 12, then you are likely to have to wait a while for a table. We have not visited this restaurant for a while, they seem to have had a recruitment drive. There are plenty of waiting staff all very hard working and tentative. They are quick to remove plates that are empty, check the tea pot to ensure it has water and top it up regularly. Service was excellent, there is always someone available and we did not have to wait long for anything. Food was very nice and tasty. Portion size is good. We had a nice meal. Would definitely return.

Reasonable price, up to standard service, Hong Kong style

Beware of the bill: On top of the discretionary 12.5% service charge, they take another 10% gratuity of the (service charge + food) cost, meaning you are paying 23.75% in extra costs. The bill they provide will not tell you of the gratuity- I was handed the card machine with the additional charges all added. In fairness, the staff refunded quickly after I noted the difference between the bill and actual payment. The steamed dim sum were good, but the century egg congee and taro tapioca dessert were subpar.

I had a lovely time dining with my friend at this restaurant. The quality of the dishes was excellent, with flavors that truly impressed us. Eric, our waiter, was welcoming and polite, providing good service throughout our meal. I will visit again.

My friends and I have a wonderful lunch here today. We have ordered some dim sum and a few typical Cantonese dishes, all of them taste good. Eric is such a nice waiter who offers the best service for us. Thank you Eric!

I recently visited wing tai resturant for what I hoped would be a delightful dining experience, but it turned out to be quite the opposite. The food not as good as usual, our experience was ultimately ruined by the extremely rude behaviour of the old Female manager. After enjoying a meal totaling £250, we decided not to pay the optional £41 service charge due to the quality food we received and the fact that it is entirely option. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager became furious and confrontational. Her attitude was shockingly unprofessional, making an already disappointing experience even worse. Before we left, we were met with her shouting "You are not welcome here! Next time I will not serve you!" At both me and my children. It's a shame that such a promising evening was ruined by poor management. I won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to others. There are plenty of other chinese restaurants in London where customers are treated with respect.

Chinese restaurant It's on the left side of the Wing Yip store. I often come to buy ingredients for the store, but just recently had the opportunity to sit and eat. Good atmosphere, good service, delicious food, everything was right. Especially the duck and crispy pork. If you want to sit and eat comfortably, we recommend weekdays. Because of holidays and bank holidays, people are crowded and have to queue.

That is a cunning restaurant and make me feel offended absolutely. The waitress said need to check my signature on my passport to confirm my id after made card payment and she said because i was using overseas debit card. I didnt sign the receipt yet. How she know about my signature? And she didnt show me the decline of transaction at that moment and told me make payment again. I feel she cunning and wanted to charge twice. I dont know why need to check my passport signature? If she need to check signature back of card, i understand. But she said check my signature on passport. This is ridiculos. I definitely do not recommend to have a food in this suck restaurant. This is a horrible experience. When I paid the bill and clicked the left card, I was asked to see the passport signature. I was asked to do so many times, but I was not asked to cancel the transaction. I am old-fashioned and confused, and I want to take advantage of the opportunity to collect money multiple times. A cashier was walking across the pier. He wanted to find someone stupid when he saw that he was a Hong Kong person. He wouldn't eat anything if he didn't know it well. Hong Kong people are just talking about Hong Kong people. Please be careful. It is recommended not to patronize these old overseas Chinese shops, but only to visit the Hong Kong residents. With the same voice? I only saw it was not cooked and could not be eaten. Speaking Cantonese is as confusing as Mandarin. In addition, the Heung Yee Kuk people in the supermarket, uh, you Hong Kong people, if you want to go fish in water, just go there, even though every day you go there by the carload to compete with people.

Suspicious, beware when paying your bills. We appreciate the authentic asia taste here, most staff are friendly and helpful. Been there for a few times recently, as my family from overseas loved the food. Yet, we had a very unpleasant experience at when we pay the bills. The staff said the first transaction was failed, while we insisted to check the bills, the printed receipt was showing transaction approved. So then we asked where's the declined transaction, some moments later the staff showed us she declined the transaction manually on her paying device. She was very reluctant to give us a printed copy of the declined receipt during the time. We had to pay again, the staff, using a very unfriendly manner,kept questioning the debit card from my uncle. she ignored as the signature on receipt matched with the card signature, insisted to check the passport,saying the passport signature has to be matched with the debit card signature, which in overseas people might use different signatures on different documents. My uncle has been using the same card to pay his bills here in the UK, he never encountered a problem. None of the hospitality companies would use such an approach to treat visitor. It is very suspicious to me as the staff said people are obliged to use the same signature on passport and bank card, which this rule might not be applicable for visitor, and ID check shall not be just about signature but other details. It is unknown if the restaurant /the staff might collect one's private data for other purposes, or it might do something on our bank card. But my uncle was kind enough to show the lady documents she requested. Just to share this awkward experience, be careful , not to spend a big amount there and beware they might double charge you if you don't check your bills carefully.

We go for brunch to eat dimsum and also order some food from the main menu. The food is reliable and the service efficient. The only decent dim sum food I can find outside central London.

Lovely night out with friends. Haven’t had Peking duck for a while. So surprise that they have it on menu. The peking duck tasted very good with the special sauce and side veggies. My friends and I tried the steam scallops with a little bit of cellophane noodles and garlic which were so delicious. All of us loved them. Other dishes like Hokkien fried rice, fried morning glory with garlic sauce and crispy roasted pork belly were also great. Last but not least, the mango puddings were yummy but I forget to take the picture of them. Will definitely revisit this restaurant again!

We had dim sum here and it was very pricey. The quality and portion sizes were ok but didn't justify the price. We got seated fairly quickly and service was good.

Just because the menu was very traditional and I hadn’t had the opportunity to try them before. Unfortunately I had a loose tooth and struggled to eat much. I tried dim sum for the first time. The weather outside was rather chilly for July so would have preferred the air conditioning to be turned down or switched off. Excellent service and a large choice of food.

Went there for evening meal , special fried rice cold , shredded chicken noodles dry , no chicken and tasteless, very expensive not worth the money you pay as all dishes too expensive, that’s why I the place is empty, service charge on top , then they ask you do you want to leave a tip , have them £70 and they didn’t give me any change, don’t go in there there’s better cheaper places around

Great food, great service and great prices

Good restaurant. Good food - tad pricey for being an out-of-Central-London restaurant. They do flippin' good dim sum as well. Excellent chicken and sweetcorn soup, fried noodles with mixed vegetables (dry), tofu in black bean sauce is tasty and sweet and sour chicken is pretty good too; amongst other good items I'm sure! Def worth going to. Reindeer Cafe next door is cheaper food with larger portions (but more like a downtown noodle bar, street food type place) - i.e. each main course in itself is enough for 1.5 to 2 meals if you order noodle dishes or rice dishes.

Food has improved but prices remain far too high - they are going to lose regulars, like us Update - last week found out that the 'service charge' does not go to the staff!

I couldn't eat it at all. Most of the dim sum was served in the refrigerator. The fried beef had no heat at all. It wasn't very comfortable after eating it, so be careful.

We are regular here, been coming here for years, service is always a hit and missed, more often missed than hit, dim sum was always excellent, but the last weekend wasn't that good. have you change management, because the food is below par this time. Bring the old head chef back if he is not there anymore.

This restaurant and adjoining store should be avoided!! They take your money and then issue£100 parking fines on their car park that they own but give to a parking company to collect the fines so they can claim it is not their responsibility I am a disabled pensioner and after eating in the restaurant my wife went to the store-?I left my parking space and went few yards to loading bay to pick her and goods up as I could not help her/ I did not leave the vehicle the engine was on and I then got a £100 fine a week later!!! Criminal !

Loved this place. We drove past it on our way to IKEA and decided to drop by on the way home. The food was amazing.

It is a great place to have Chinese dim sum or Chinese traditional hot food in pots . An Asian supermarket is just next to the restaurant .

My favourite place to eat a good dim sum with family for lunch. Recently I held my 21st birthday celebration here with all my friends and family, Joey was an amazing host to my party alongside all the staff that served us that day. Thanks to the chefs that made all the delicious food. All the dishes were amazing, we had plenty of food and it was a lovely time to celebrate my birthday and Chinese New Year Eve. Thanks for hosting my party, would definitely recommend anyone to come here for lunch or dinner.

Delicious duck, great soup and 3 out for dim sum/dumplings were decent. The chicken feet were underwhelming but still ate it. Will come here again and try the fish and other soups. Really good service and and they topped our tea without asking us which is effective. Friendly and respectful as I was also and quick service.

Really bad experience with the service, will never come again given that there are so many other similar Chinese restaurants nearby.

As Malaysians we found the food here excellent. Moist and tasty Siew Yuk (crispy pork). Eric was very friendly, attentive and efficient. He recommended the lamb hot pot and fish in preserve cabbage which was excellent. Seafood hor fun was also cooked very well. We will be back again soon.

I’ve visited here with my family a handful of times and every time we come the food is deliciously wonderful! Some of our favourite dishes are the crispy duck and pancakes, salt and pepper squid and beef chow mein noodles! Also, the service this evening was speedy and friendly 😊 Would highly recommend visiting here, it’s great for big groups and occasions too! I love that it’s next door to an Asian supermarket aswell, great to pick up supplies and then get a bite to eat.

The dim sum is very good. The service was quick and in particular our waiter Eric was exceptionally friendly and attentive. He helped to make our dining experience even better.

I appreciate the attentive service, but I must express some disappointment with the food quality. We ordered the BBQ Rice, Beef Brisket Pot, and Sea Spice Auberg Pot. The beef brisket pot had an unusual and somewhat sour taste. The Sea Spice Auberg Pot, while okay, was excessively oily, deviating from the authentic preparation. The only dish that met expectations was the roasted meat BBQ rice, but unfortunately, it was served cold. Will not come back again I am afraid.

Shame you can't give a place 0 starts because I would totally give 0. Nasty food, felt sick afterwards. Unwilling to take a meal off the menu when it was salty to eat. Bad customer service despite having to pay a service charge, waiters didn't listen to customers, when we told them the food was salty the waiter (bald man) just walked off. So rude. My other friend ordered a meal containing chicken, the meat that actually came is yet to be identified. Avoid this place please, save your wallet, protect the NHS and save lives.

I come here quite often as it is walking distance from my workplace. The food is always fresh and delicious. They have a quite a large main menu with a separate dim sum menu during lunch hours. I love the decor and atmosphere - reminds of the restaurants I visited in China. Service can be a bit slow at times but overall I love this place

I love it here take out or dine in, especially dim sum. This review is for a delivery order from the standard menu. Crispy pork is outstanding and the fillet beef in black bean sauce was also very good with the sweet and sour pork also very tasty. I did think the duck portion was too much skin and bone and the meat that was there just didn’t hit the mark, disappointing as it’s been good in the past. I think the Singapore noodles although tasty were very stingy on veg/meat/seafood. It is a little expensive but the portions are good, ingredients and hygiene are trustworthy

Just had a delivery from Wing Tai and the food was just awful. Such a shame as this used to be a great restaurant and it's been going steadily downhill for a while now. We ordered crispy duck which was so undercooked it was inedible! Then chicken in black bean sauce which was bland and with a just a few pieces of tastless chicken that were much too large for a dish like this. Such a shame. I really hope Wing Tai resolves its problems or it won't have a future and that would be a real loss to N.W. London.

Visited with friends on Sunday 29th October. We waited 45 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. We all ordered food together with one waiter. 4 people from our party ordered from the set menu. They finished eating their meal by the time other people in the party were served their order. One person ordered sea bass, steamed veg and rice but was only served veg and rice! It wasn't until it was pointed out to the waiter that the fish hadn't arrived, that efforts were then made to find out what had happened. Diners who arrived AFTER us were served with drinks BEFORE us!!! The same applied to their food order. None of my party paid the service charge as there was no service or apology for the lengthy wait. Not once did anyone ask us if our food was to our satisfaction. Not impressed with this restaurant and will not be returning, nor recommending.

Nice sit down restaurant with friends and/or family. Though have notice change in some if not all their dishes, prices may remain the same but the quantity and ingredients in some dishes in the past are missing.

Uber eats delivery of mixed meat and rice was poor, consisted of duck bones and no sauce so very dry and luckily I had a sauce to add on top. Will be trying Bang Bang in future. Bye Wing Tai

Service was very bad. I would expect at least the person at the door would have some basic customer service, but no! He was waving his hand to direct us, and had his back on us the whole time leading us to the tables. Food was OK, but such a shame, mistakes in our order.

This place USED to be quite good. No longer. The food is mediocre, the service lackadaisical (unless you are Chinese), and the prices have jumped substantially. There are other Cantonese restaurants which are better quality and not more (sometimes less) money. I don’t plan on returning

Outstanding, fabulous, plenty, hot, presentable, the best dim sun on the planet.... always busy, majority of Chinese people eating - so it must be good.... only one problem, such sad miserable unhappy staff, waiters and senior waiters.... I'm scared to calling over to the table.... biiy its always been like that.... with a 12.5% added service charge, at least look like you want to accept the tip. £100 bill, £12 odd "tip" added, not an acknowledgement or a thank you, just nothing..... but the food?... worth putting up with the staffs sour faces.....

Wing Tai has been one of my favorite Chinese restaurants for many years. Tonight, we’ve decided we will be leaving it many years till we go again!Overpriced food served lukewarm. Rude serving staff who really can’t be bothered to wait on you. Too long between courses. Do they not read TripAdvisor reviews? I wasn’t expecting that many bad ones to be honest.Management need to send ALL staff on a restaurant etiquette course and teach them how to smile.

Food is very Cantonese. Reminds me of my days in Hong Kong. Their dim sum is good. Some of their mains is not bad too. At times the service is good but some of them can be quite rude as they just want to rush you out. There is no hospitality only because the OWNER is never there. There is no one to ask if you enjoyed the food or not. I get the service only because I can speak to them in Cantonese and they love it only because I am not Chinese and they get excited to know more if I had lived in the Far East long.

Dim sum quality is pretty good. Service definitely needs improvement! Male waiters are quite rude, female waitresses are more helpful. Manager is the worse one, no customer service at all. Just walking around the restaurant in his suit and talking on mobile phone.

Frankly, I would say this is a zero star rated restaurant. One star given perhaps because of the roast duck, roast duck was the only food that I could recommend to eat in this restaurant. Many told us the restaurant has been great few years ago but not after the new management. We went in once for dinner a few months ago and food was alright. We went this week for dim sum, staff didn't even give us the order form and we waited for so long for them to take our order, they came over and said we should order on the paper form (how do we know if you didn't even give us one?). All the dim sum dishes were extremely bland. (Not to be sarcastic, but perhaps if we buy some frozen Royal Gourmet dim sum, they will be far better than this restaurant. ) Cheung Fan served was cold and hard. Tried to ask for Chilli oil but all the staff seems like running far away from customers. I understand this is Covid situation but this should not an excuse. The manager (not sure he is but he is wearing black suit) just ignored us once our food were served. Worst thing is they charge 12.5% compulsory service which I don't think they deserve to. We are definitely very happy to pay service or extra tipping to staff if they had provided reasonable service. Don't think we will ever come back if this kind of food and service from this restaurant.

Food was tasteless. We ordered some dim sums like siu mai and har gau. It doesn’t taste well. Secondly, the waiters and waitresses especially the manager are very inattentive. The restaurant was almost empty by the time we were there. It took them years to get the order and serve the food. Avoid this restaurant if you are looking for good dim sum.
