Just had lunch at the Golden Dragon and everything was absolutely delicious. Had to wait about 10 minutes for a table which was fine. Once seated we were served quickly by a very friendly and helpful waitress. All the food was delicious, bbq duck to die for superb!….lively atmosphere, reasonable prices, very good portions, Saturday lunch the restaurant was packed and I can understand why, my nephew has just moved into the area so will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend

I recently booked 9 tables for a wedding dinner at Golden dragon Colindale with direct contact via WhatsApp’s messages 3- 4 months advance, expecting a memorable and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, the service fell far below expectations, and the night was marred by several issues which involved my partner in tears. Firstly, the space allocated for our booking was far too tight. Despite confirming the number of tables in advance, the seating arrangement felt cramped, leaving guests uncomfortable throughout the night. It was clear that the restaurant had not planned adequately for the number of people, which made the atmosphere less than ideal for a wedding celebration. Secondly, the service was extremely poor. Staff seemed disorganized and inattentive, taking far too long to attend to basic requests like refilling water or clearing plates. Some of our guests had to ask multiple times for their orders, and there was a noticeable lack of coordination between the waitstaff. For an event as important as a wedding, I expected the staff to be more professional and efficient, but this was sadly not the case. Given that this was such an important event, I was thoroughly disappointed with how the night turned out. The poor service and cramped conditions took away from what should have been a special and joyful evening. I wouldn’t recommend this venue for large gatherings or special occasions, as they clearly struggled to handle the size and scale of our event. Also, this was one of the restaurants we would go to every 2 weeks with family as the food is good there. However on this occasion it did disappoint us.

Lovely restaurant and tasty food. I noticed though, that no Asian people of 2 persons were sitting at 2 person tables, rather they were on 4 or 5 seat tables. I thought it could be coincidence, but on my second visit, again no Asian people were on cramped tables, only occidentals (Europeans). On my third (and last) visit, I went with a Chinese friend, and we got a 5 seater table, for the two of us. This is blatantly wrong, in my opinion, and why I will not go again.

Really really disappointed not only was the sweet and sour pork totally tastles it was a Nersery school portion size dish with no sauce and more batter than pork not a satisfying meal the egg fried rice lacked kick of flavours and oomph and the best part of the disappointment the two dishes came to £20 .25 with the service charge TOTAL LET DOWN AND RIP OFF . I said from the beginning I wasn't happy with the tiny amount the waitress didn't offer to add more to my portion or any more sauce and then as I was paying the manager argued with me telling me that if thay notice a small portion thay will add more LOL so the fact I was a unhappy customer with regards to size of meal that didn't qualify an apology or a offering of slightly more portion sign of the times we're living in crap !

Possibly the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant (including Chinese restaurants, which already are fairly brusque and I’ve lived in Hong Kong before). Here, they don’t seem to understand a meal is supposed to be pleasant and relaxing, you are spending your hard earned cash. Instead, they seem annoyed by your arrival. The unsmiling staff also rush off before you finish your order (you can only order once at the weekend!) and need to be asked 3/4 times if your food is indeed coming. Delays are blamed on machines not working….Also they serve prawns with the poo not removed (big black lumps in the dim sum). I don’t expect to eat prawn poo when the dim sum is this expensive and service this poor! Won’t be back.

We enjoyed our dinner which consisted of Won Ton soup and Chicken & Sweetcorn soup, with garlic and chili bean curd on the side. These were followed by a steamed crab with rice wine and Ho Fun beef with black bean sauce. The food was terrific. Service was friendly and helpful.

Have eaten here many times with family and friends and the dim sum is impeccable, as are all of the dishes on this mostly Cantonese styled menu. For a large venue, the service is fast and good, and the ambiance friendly and bustling at lunchtime! Recommended!

Standout dishes were beef ho fun and their roast duck. Will return for their dim sum.

Food is alright, but at the same time don't expect it to be best food you are going to try. It gets very busy on Saturday around 12 to 1:45pm. After 2PM it settles down and is less busy and the queues are minimal. If you can go during the weekdays, it is not busy.

The restaurant is conveniently located with free parking within the Morrisons car park (under cover), but do check the sign as I believe it is only for 2 hours. The restaurant is large and spacious with plenty of tables. We walked in mid week and we were able to get a table without problem. If you want to have dim sum for Sunday lunch, either arrive for 11am or have a late lunch in order to avoid waiting. The food is very nice. The roast duck is amazing. For those who don’t know or don’t like to eat off the bone (like my wife and kids) you can ask them to de-bone it for you for a small charge. The service is ok but being such a big restaurant, you do have to make an effort to try and get the attention of the waiters. We had a lovely meal and would definitely come back for evening meal or for dim sum. The price is a bit on the high side but the food is of good quality and flavoursome so it is worth the money. Highly recommended.

Never really very keen about this place, and never understood why it was so popular. The waiters and waitresses could sometimes be under stress to cope, impacting the friendliness of the service they provide. The vegan options were very weak: not clearly labelled at all. That was a year ago. Last week, I revisited, when the restaurant was less hectic on that Saturday evening. The waiters and waitresses were more relaxed, and friendlier. One particular waiter was very attentive to my vegan needs, and the vegan dishes were tasty.

The food was excellent but we were forgotten by the waiters in a corner and the food came late. When we tried getting the waiters attention to get our food after 45 minutes, they were rude to us and mentioned that we shouldn’t have come if we were inpatient (after 45 minutes of wait). We decided not to pay for the service charge and the lady was adamant that we should and when we explained the situation she said ‘next time go upstairs’ don’t come here because here you have to pay service charge. We did say that as per the law if we are not satisfied we shouldn’t have to and she was like next time go eat upstairs food court it will be good for you. Disappointed in the service!!

I’m a bit sick and tired of low ratings for Chinese restaurants due to the “service being unfriendly” - it’s just different! Chinese folks are efficient folks, meaning typically less time for small talk and more time to get your food order into the kitchen and then to the table, clear the table and serve the next hungry customers. The food here is fantastic, albeit getting more expensive due to inflation but it’s authentic, tasty and portioned well. If you’re looking for lovely authentic dim sum in a classical Hong Kong style setting this is the place. If you’re looking for fusion food with a wine connoisseur and good discussions about where the pork was sourced then I’d recommend Nobu or something.

Been eating here a long time, and up to now, the food has been amazing. So much so, that I have recommended loads of people to visit. However, yesterday, I could not believe how bad some of the dishes were. Seaweed that was obviously old and refried. Won Ton soup that was devoid of flavour. Then spare ribs that were impossible to chew or even cut with a knife. And finally sweet and sour chicken that was so tough and dried out it was impossible to eat. We ate the seaweed and soup but sent back the other two dishes, and fair play they were taken off the bill, but very disappointingly, no one from the restaurant, and they know me, offered any sort of apology. I really hope this was a 'one off' otherwise I'll be going to Good Earth, Singapore Gardens or Tai Pan instead. Remember, customers don't always tell you when it's bad, they just don't visit any longer! I will try you again, but unless you are back to where you should be, then it will be the last time. Really hope the owner reads this!

We couldn’t bite the little meat that was there. It was so hard and overcooked. The chow mien was more like a pack of 45p noodles you buy from lidl. Very dry and tasteless. The service was also deplorable when I collected our order. £41 for 3 dishes, you expect it to be decent. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back ever again. I’d rather eat dirt!

I stumbled upon this restaurant in my search for a decent place to eat for Mother’s Day, and boy was I disappointed. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was dingy and dirty. The tables were sticky and the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Do NOT go to this restaurant if you value your health and tastebuds. The food was beyond terrible, it was inedible. My mother, grandmother, brother, dad and I all got food poisoning from the undercooked meats and the lack of hygiene in the kitchen was apparent from the scraps of food lying around. The staff were rude and unhelpful, showing no concern for our health or well-being. To add insult to injury, the prices were extremely overpriced for such low-quality food and service. The service was absolutely horrendous. We waited nearly an hour just to get our menus, and another hour for our food to arrive. When the food arrived it came out cold and still raw in some areas. The drinks we ordered also took forever to come, and when they did, they were watered down and tasted awful. To top it all off, we had to constantly ask for the bill and even had to get up and go to the door before they finally brought it over. And when we refused to pay the service charge, the waiter had the audacity to argue with us and say that's just how things are done there. But the worst part was when we saw the staff taking the food we had sent back from our table and putting it in takeaway containers. I can only assume they were planning on serving it to other customers or reusing it in other dishes. Disgusting! The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was dismal and depressing, making it hard to enjoy our Mother's Day dinner. I cannot believe this restaurant is still in business and I implore everyone to avoid it at all costs. I will be reporting this restaurant to environmental health and spreading the word to warn others about the horrendous experience we had at this so-called 'restaurant'. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else for a decent meal. Absolutely unacceptable. This was a terrible experience and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the embarrassment and avoid this despicable restaurant at all costs. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

However, the Sichuan Chili Pepper Chicken was way too salty. Otherwise the food was all great. The other thing that disappointed us was the customer service. I didn’t get the lady’s name who served us but she was quite rude to us. We are 2 people not really ordering much or demanding too much but when I asked for a tap water she responded to me with ‘Huh?!’ with really irritated face. I’m not really a loud talker by nature that’s why maybe she didn’t hear me me well or maybe she was already tired (it was 3:30pm) but still my partner told me she could’ve asked me backed in a polite way. I have never experienced that kind of treatment anywhere else. I hope, this won’t happen to others.

We came here for dim sum due to hearing the amount of positive feedback, particularly from locals and word of mouth from those whom lived in Colindale (there is a large pocket of HK in this area). Overall, we were left unimpressed. Whilst the food was nice, arrived promptly, in more plentiful portion sizes than average and was slightly cheaper than the food sold directly upstairs in the main busy food hall itself, service was lacking and the staff treated our small group with a cold and unwelcoming attitude despite the restaurant not being too particularly busy and hectic during the late weekend afternoon. Even from the beginning as we were shown to our tables, we felt rushed and hurried to order. The dim sum was tasty and quality wise, a notch above average but we won't be returning and cannot recommend Golden Dragon due to their staff's customer service which left a lot to be desired.

Chinese restaurant serving standard dishes & other variations. Grim staff. Parking available. 31.8.22 Ridiculous & unacceptable wait to have to be shown to a table in a half empty restaurant! 22.2.23 Ridiculous that one has to wait to attract the attention of a waiter to order food or to be even found a table & then to sit (in a dingy corner !) in a restaurant of rude, cold & unpleasant staff who get stroppy if you don't want to pay the "Discretionary Service Charge" which is printed on the restaurant receipt! Maybe they should concentrate on making the noodles softer instead of pressuring customers to pay the SChg. or ask them to go elsewhere ! Typical attitude of gaudy establishments such as this where unacceptable staff manners is the norm & which is not certainly not acceptable in this part of the world & in the west!

It's a great shame. This restaurant used to be very good but the last experience was awful especially the service. We were there early for dim sum. The first server came to take our drink order and was insistent on speaking cantonese despite us telling her that we don't speak or understand cantonese. The second server who looked like the manager took our food order and as he was leaving said, 'That's it! you cannot order anymore after this' which truly surprised and confused us. It dampened the mood within the group as we were left thinking if we've ordered enough! The Golden Dragon need to appreciate that customers wouldn't know the size and portion of their food!!! Not sure if this is the general restaurant policy. We didn't hear any of the tables around us being told the same. The food quality was average! We stopped here for an early dinner, it wasn't busy but there were a lot of delivery drivers waiting for orders, we took this as a good sign. Our waitress was pleasant enough, a bit abrupt but that was just her way she wasn't rude. She was full of suggestions for us & even told us not to order too much as the portions were big, good job she did! We had the soft shell crab, scallops with asparagus, vegetable fried rice & garlic prawns, all lovely. The wine list is extensive, a pleasant Spanish white & a lovely Stellenbosch white. As we finished our meal we noticed the place was filling up, mostly from the Asian community which we found encouraging, nothing like finding a restaurant the local community goes to, to us it proves it's authenticity. I also noticed small silver tea pots & asked our waitress if they had Chrysanthemum tea, not on the menu, she said they did! I took a photo for my friend from Hong Kong, I hadn't had this tea for years & only ever with her, I was so pleased as it is a lovely tea. We will return even though it wasn't that cheap.

Delicious food but the attitude of the staff stinks especially the front of house lady. Your best getting take away if you aren’t their preferred clientele.

I must say, my first visit was quite splendid. The food, while not reaching god-tier perfection, was undeniably delicious. The ONLY dish that stood out to me was the roasted pork (燒肉). It has crackling skin on top of the fat, succulent meat in the middle and a final salty layer at the bottom. Simply sublime! The service, even amidst the Christmas holidays, was nothing short of excellent. Would definitely revisit this place!

Really tasty food of a good quality Prices not too bad. Staff very friendly and attentive, but not too over baring. Really enjoyable early evening mean, not too busy when we arrived but much more so when we left.

In my opinion the food has improved a lot with now some delightful dim sum's, service could be better, they seem a little short. Lots of Cantonese customers makes you feel like you're in Hong-Kong

I was invited there last weekend. I was amazed by the service and amount of food given for a shared platter. The staff were very friendly, courteous, kind, helpful and funny. The surroundings were pleasant and welcoming. The female toilets were clean, a must in my opinion, because a dirty toilet predicts a dirty kitchen and the decor was on point. I will definitely be going back there in the future.

Unacceptable Experience - Mice Infestation and Dismissive Attitude I recently visited this restaurant around 9pm and was disappointed by the overall experience. As a pregnant individual, I was already feeling a bit rushed as they close at 10pm. However, what followed was truly distressing. While my partner and I were eating, we noticed a mouse scurrying across our table. This sight immediately made me feel nauseous and ruined the entire dining experience. We promptly informed the manager about the issue, hoping for a swift resolution. To my dismay, the manager's response was dismissive and lackluster. He simply stated that the mice come from outside and offered to remove the charge for the lobster from our bill. This was far from adequate, as they did not take any immediate action or even bother to contact the council for assistance. As a result of this incident, I am now left traumatised from eating outside and left with a lingering feeling of unease. The lack of concern shown by the manager towards such a serious matter is highly concerning and unacceptable. I urge the management to take this matter seriously and address the mice infestation problem promptly. It is crucial to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the dining area, especially when dealing with a pest issue. Neglecting to take immediate action not only compromises the dining experience but also poses health risks to customers. I hope my feedback serves as a wake-up call for the establishment to prioritise customer safety, hygiene, and overall satisfaction.

Overall the dim sim quality is very good in London. Seatings is very spacious compare with high end restaurants in Central London. Hygiene wise, the floors are a bite greasy toward down the kitchen and toilets so this can be improved. Highly recommended to come back.

This place was a surprise, ngl. We've been to a lot of dim sum in Europe, and so often it's not very good, not even close to Canada or USA (and those are not as good as HK as it is). But this place was legitimately good, for Europe. The char siu sou may be the best I have ever had. They are tiny but delicious. Perfect flaky pastry and char siu done well with lots of flavour. Zhaliang were also really expertly made. Normally, I can only have one or 2 before feeling full and getting bored of them. These again had a lot of flavour. And props for not having the awful tiny dried shrimp in them. Taro dumplings were decent but not the best. We also ordered tripe, beef cheung fun, scallop wontons, and har gow. All were between good and very good. And finally: the chilli oil was hot af! 🙏 It is expensive. The cost of dim sum in the UK is astounding. We were taking a gamble here, seeing how expensive it is. Was it worth the price? No. I don't think any dim sum, like 3 dumplings for example, ever should cost $10-$12. Even the best dumplings in the world aren't. But it was pretty good quality. The service was fine, except that oddly, they don't let you add to your order. So, if you want more, or dessert -- too bad! We found that really strange and off-putting for dim sum. It's like the opposite of how it works anywhere else. Next time I would get a reservation because we were lucky we got there about 20 minutes after they opened on the weekend, but it was already 80% full. When we left, I don't think there was a single free table. Normally I wouldn't give 5 stars to a place I am not 100% about, but it was really good for England and it was such a relief to eat tasty dim sum, and so good I would come again, that I think it's worth it.

Very very bad service. Part order deliverd. No one wanted to know about the missing part including the head waiter. Very rude as well. Will definitely not go there again. Heating was off on a cold evening.

Haven’t been here for dinner in a while but decided to do a massive family get together. We order a lot of food and they all tasted amazing! I love roast duck and pork belly, favourite meats and really flavourful. Best thing to eat with your rice is the sat and pepper squid, I absolutely love the flavours of the squid. The chilli beef was crunchy and really tasty. Definitely get a noodles dish, we had the beef Ho fun which one of my go to dishes when it comes to noodles. Staff were great and very accommodating, parking is good as well. Recommend coming here for lunch or dinner.

The food was excellent but the lady who took our order said we weren’t allowed to order more on the weekends. They only allow for us to order all the food at once and not a dish more. As we were ordering, she kept rushing to leave even though we weren’t finished. Everything was great besides this, I’m not sure if it’s worth coming back. There’s a ton of other yummy dim sum options where I’m allowed to order more if I please.

We held our wedding banquet for 160 at Golden Dragon (Colindale). We communicated and organised with the manager Vincent who was very experience and accommodating. On the day, we were looked after by the manager Debbie and her team. She was very flexible with our additional last minute requests. The service that was provided by the team was excellent and all our guests commented on how delicious the food was. The chefs provided a separate vegan menu and we were told by our vegan guests that it was some of the best Chinese food they have ever had. Golden dragon had microphones and speakers that we were able to use, as well as screens to display pictures on. They also provided a beautiful tea set for our tea ceremony. There was plenty of space and decorated backdrops for group photos. There was even enough space for a lion dance performance from KSKUK Lion Dance! We have been to Golden dragon a few times for food, but we would highly recommend Golden Dragon for anyone planning to host a Chinese wedding banquet.

Food is alright, nothing to write home about but you probably won't be disappointed. This place is super busy on weekends and you can't sit down until the entire party is there. Together with the fact that the free parking is now limited to 2 hours instead of 3, one can't help but feel rushed to order food, finish them all, pay the bill and leave ASAP...

My wife and I decided to dine here as it was one of the very few restaurants that served Vegan dishes. Despite being a bit shabby in appearance, the food was definitely good! We loved the dosa pancakes as well as the Baingan Bharta. We also had some really good Chilli Mushrooms and Jeera Rice. We had a great Vegetarian and Vegan Feast.

Extremely poor quality food, will not use again. Had ‘Chicken Curry and Egg Fried Rice’. The curry was some ingredients that had been heated together in a very, very watery and tasteless ‘sauce’. The onions were raw and the chicken had been sliced in at the end of the prep. The sauce was like a stock cube and had no depth of flavour. The rice was overcooked and had some fried egg through it, but fried rice it was certainly not. I could not, in all conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone, and would say to avoid it at all cost.

I am very mixed as I was very excited at first that I have a quality chinese take away nearby, not the cheapest but fair if quality present. However after 10 different orders I have noticed that most of the dishes are just simply full of onion. The cheapest way to make it look bulky.. With last one I felt like I thrown away half of my order.. And that was after eating half-pot of ONIONS... This establishment have a potential as the food is actually good, but they cheat by overloading cheapest ingridient wherever they can.. Please fix this, give more various vegetables (for this price I expect more than 2 slices of carrot on the bed of onions..) in correct proportions and earn 4-5 star reviews from majority of your clients... I will come back in few weeks to see if anything has improved in that matter.
