First visit at this restaurant. Tried the assorted roast meats with rice was really good quality and flavourful and good portion size, nice bok choi. Great customer service. Will definitely try other dishes and dim sum next time. The best roasted meats in LONDON. Thank you🙏

Ordered a takeaway via Uber, I spend loads of money eating in the restaurant with friends/family and ordering take out at this place for many years. On this occasion, my food arrived to my house un-edible, both soups had been placed sideways so leaked all over the other items and left a puddle of soup in the delivery bag! So I spent £70 for nothing, it all went in the bin! - I phoned to complain and the lady I spoke with didn't care at all, she did not even offer to send a replacement order, but was happy to take my £70! Awful service, awful attitude, and was happy to lose a regular customer! Think twice before eating/ordering here... the food is good but attitude towards customers stinks!!

Possibly the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant (including Chinese restaurants, which already are fairly brusque and I’ve lived in Hong Kong ). CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE STILL CHOOSE TO COME HERE!? Here, they don’t seem to understand a meal is supposed to be pleasant and relaxing, you are spending your hard earned cash. Instead, they seem annoyed by your arrival. Customers are annoyances to be gotten rid of asap minus cash. The unsmiling staff rush off before you finish your order (you can only order once at the weekend!) and need to be asked 3/4 times if your food is indeed coming. Delays are blamed on machines not working?! The machines would offer better service if indeed used… Also they serve prawns with the poo not removed (big black lumps in the dim sum). I don’t expect to eat prawn poo when the dim sum is this expensive and service this poor! Have been several times but had enough, won’t ever be back.

Went for a family dinner here earlier this week. The chow mein was burnt and the chicken rubbery and old. The steak was funky tasting and the pork dumplings were revolting. Everything had been clearly microwaved too as every single dish was lukewarm. Couldn't finish anything and left without taking anything home. There was very minimal service - they seemed annoyed that we were there in the first place. Avoid at all costs.

Food is very good. The quality is very good fresh I had the crab from the special menu very reasonably priced and very succulent with and the rice was done. Well I had also a starter which was the soft shell crab and Japanese seaweed.

Service was awful!! To begin with, waiters couldn't speak English, and ended up getting a dish that I wasn't expecting it to be like that. Noodles were uncooked, and when I told them about it, they didn't offer any alternative that would make me happy.

Their dim sum selection brought my parents back to their childhood, bringing traditional flavours into dishes adding a hint of modern touch. The restaurant was spacious and it would be difficult to get the staff’s attention at time. But would still highly recommend their food, especially their cold dishes and siu mai.

Perhaps my favourite dimsum place in london, and the most authentic too! I’ve been here twice for dimsum and overall it did not disappoint, but the quality can be inconsistent at times. For example, the siu mai was over steamed the second time and was soggy. The custard buns were disappointing and the fillings were dry. The claypot rice were quite small in portion size and the meat and rice ratio can be off at times. That said, their siu mai and shrimp dumplings and char siu bao are divine. I’ll still return for the authentic taste.

Been there many times for dim sum and dinner. Went there again celebrating Chinese New Year with friends. It’s a good place for dim sum or Chinese food in Colindale.

We have been coming here for years. This is a belated review prompted by a recent dinner party. It is probably the most popular restaurant for authentic Chinese food in North London. Dimsum lunch times are always very busy, and their dimsums are comparable, if not better, than the best ones in Chinatown. A la cart menu has a mixture of Anglicised Chinese dishes as well as authentic Cantonese fare but not always as reliable as they could be. The restaurant is quite large, able to host several big parties with big tables as well as functions. Service is efficient, prices reasonable, and has free parking up to 3 hours

The Cantonese dim sum food is very good, but it's a pity that people can enter the table first. Whether the service attitude is good or not is up to you. I give it two stars. -Dr Danny Ha

I hadn’t tried dim sum before, but one of our Chinese friends took us to this place. It was amazing, and we really enjoyed it and had a great time. We’ll definitely go again to try other types of food!

Still good food, not especially cheap but still good value with pleasant staff and good service. Free two hours parking, you can pay for more in the car park at the rear of Morrisons supermarket. Large doors in the corner of the car park lead to the restaurant and Bang Bang Food Hall. A long row of electric vehicle charges now in the car park.

Great place! The server was really nice and helped us pick our food with the best choices! The food was epic and will definitely keep coming back here.

Really disappointed in the takeaway we had last night. The lemon chicken we purchased for my grandson was inedible, as the chicken was really tough. The mushroom and aubergine noodles was really soggy and the rest of the meal was bland apart the green beans with chilli which was delicious. I felt it was overpriced and we certainly won’t be using it again.

The food is authentic and tasty. John, the waiter who served us is very helpful and attentive.

Ripped off by this disgusting restaurant. They sent me a day old stone cold duck that gave our household food poisoning after just one bite each. I’ve reported them to Barnet food safety team but just a warning to anyone considering ordering from this place- DONT!!!

Teníamos pre - reservado un pozo - situado mesa para nuestros 17 . Cena del domingo por la noche. El ambiente estaba bien para nosotros y el servicio era lo suficientemente atento. La comida era excelente, que va desde el pato asado de Pekín al cangrejo, la lubina, un excelente plato de pollo asado, filete de filete con salsa de frijoles negros, cebolla y chile, tofu con ajo, pimienta y sal, etc. - el único plato que no atrajo plaudits fue un plato de tofu de miel. Y, el servicio de retirada de vajilla robot atrajo gran interés de los niños

This place brought back some nostalgic memories. The go-to restaurant for quality dim sum and a place for family catch ups over delicious food. I will not hesitate to return for many more lunches and dinners.

Foods are delicious and at good price. General service is courteous and Manager John's service is excellent. A first class Chinese restaurant worths me driving one hour to come here to have a family gathering.

Just ordered through ubereats, beware. I'm not sure how this place is still open. The food did not taste fresh at all and had a strange flavour. Disgusting.

Maybe they should concentrate on making the noodles softer instead of pressuring customers to pay the SChg. or ask them to go elsewhere ! Very rude staff. Was told that we can only order food once. It was not a question, but a demand from the waitress, no apologies either. I started questioning myself if I am really the customer. Will not come back again, have not experienced 'service' like this before...

Resturant like this should not operate at all until they have allergies procedure in place on menu and ordering and stuff follow them through. My son has been in hospital since eaten your dumpling for lunch. We have repeatedly told you that 2 children ( my son and friend's daughter ) got peanut allergies at time of ordering. You still brought out and fed us the dumplings that contained chunks of peanuts in them. My son ate one. After 20 min, he had an anaphalatic shock. We ended up having to rush my son to Northwick park A and E after giving him piriton and his epipen . Airway was already closing and he was in and out of consciousness while we were on way to hospital. How disgusting! At one point I was giving him a second dose of piriton while you were asking for a bill for a meal which could kill him. He only just has been discharged from the hospital..... this resturant should be close down.

En un momento, le estaba dando una segunda dosis de piritón mientras tú pedías una factura por una comida que podría matarlo. Acaba de ser dado de alta del hospital desde el domingo... Este restaurante debe estar cerrado.

Very authentic place for dim sum 🥟 Long queue on Sunday ( because of the Sunday morning tea 早茶 ritual in Cantonese culture) Only walk-in so I would recommend you come before 11:30am to avoid the crowds Food was generally good but a bit noisy and busy (as expected/as it should be) and service was quick.

Golden Dragon is one of my favourite Chinese Dim Sum restaurants in London. My Malaysian husband and I visit here regularly every couple of weeks. Some of our favourite dish choices are the Cuttlefish Cake (墨鱼饼)，Turnip Cake (萝卜糕)，and the Roast Pork Belly (烧肉） Some things to note is that you cannot make a reservation here as it is a first come first serve policy. You also need to have everyone with you before you are seated, as the hostess will not seat you until everyone has arrived. Lastly, when you order your dishes for dim sum, you cannot add more later on so you need to be confident you have enough food when ordering.

Probably the best Chinese food I have had for years. The stir fried vegetables cooked to the perfection absolutely delicious with lots of mushrooms. dinner for 3 people for just £75 , I was totally stuffed:) Free tea and great quick service.

Terrible service and rude staff. We waited for a long time for someone to take our order, a long time for an add on order.We asked to take away the service charge cause we waited for 10 minutes and no one came to take the payment. Then the lady in black shout at us said it’s because they’re busy and they are not just serving only us. She also said if we don’t plan to pay the service charge, we shouldn’t eat here. She said they’re busy but the waitress who was serving us was smoking outside.

Nice food, terrifying service. Being shouted by a staff that if we did not intend to pay a service charge should not bother dining there. While they delivered poor service and kept us waiting. When we ordered the waitress displayed clear impatience. And when we had the bill, we were left waiting again for an unreasonably long time, despite asking multiple times for assistance. The staff member eventually informed us that they were busy, yet we could see employees outside smoking instead of attending to customers. The overall experience felt more akin to a dodgy street restaurant than a reputable dining establishment. That’s why we asked kindly to remove the additional service charge, and we ended up being shouted in front of the whole restaurant. I hope the management addresses these service issues, as the food deserves better.

Been going here for years but latest visit is offputting. Food is good and there are a few waiters and waitresses that we have known for a while that are amazing. Sadly the front of house staff/management were very rude. We went for my birthday, had a table of 14 so bill was big but the lady taking payment kept shouting at my dad asking him to give her more money, charged £6 for the birthday desert that we didnt ask for and then told my dad to tip her! She had absolutely no manners she should go to work in Wong Kei where tourist want to be treated badly

Just had lunch at the Golden Dragon and everything was absolutely delicious. Had to wait about 10 minutes for a table which was fine. Once seated we were served quickly by a very friendly and helpful waitress. All the food was delicious, bbq duck to die for superb!….lively atmosphere, reasonable prices, very good portions, Saturday lunch the restaurant was packed and I can understand why, my nephew has just moved into the area so will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend

Fui a celebrar un cumpleaños. A pesar de reservar nos colocaron en una mesa extraña sentados a 45 grados uno del otro. Los entrantes estaban demasiado cocidos y viciados. El arroz frito se recalentó y supo viejo. La panza crujiente se sirvió fría. Los prados no se limpiaron correctamente. El personal en la entrada era acogedor, pero el personal de espera no tanto. ¿Desperdiciaría mi dinero aquí otra vez? Absolutamente no. Hay mejores restaurantes en Chinatown. Elegí este como lo había sido antes en un grupo grande y fue una experiencia completamente diferente.

I recently booked 9 tables for a wedding dinner at Golden dragon Colindale with direct contact via WhatsApp’s messages 3- 4 months advance, expecting a memorable and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, the service fell far below expectations, and the night was marred by several issues which involved my partner in tears. Firstly, the space allocated for our booking was far too tight. Despite confirming the number of tables in advance, the seating arrangement felt cramped, leaving guests uncomfortable throughout the night. It was clear that the restaurant had not planned adequately for the number of people, which made the atmosphere less than ideal for a wedding celebration. Secondly, the service was extremely poor. Staff seemed disorganized and inattentive, taking far too long to attend to basic requests like refilling water or clearing plates. Some of our guests had to ask multiple times for their orders, and there was a noticeable lack of coordination between the waitstaff. For an event as important as a wedding, I expected the staff to be more professional and efficient, but this was sadly not the case. Given that this was such an important event, I was thoroughly disappointed with how the night turned out. The poor service and cramped conditions took away from what should have been a special and joyful evening. I wouldn’t recommend this venue for large gatherings or special occasions, as they clearly struggled to handle the size and scale of our event. Also, this was one of the restaurants we would go to every 2 weeks with family as the food is good there. However on this occasion it did disappoint us.

Lovely restaurant and tasty food. I noticed though, that no Asian people of 2 persons were sitting at 2 person tables, rather they were on 4 or 5 seat tables. I thought it could be coincidence, but on my second visit, again no Asian people were on cramped tables, only occidentals (Europeans). On my third (and last) visit, I went with a Chinese friend, and we got a 5 seater table, for the two of us. This is blatantly wrong, in my opinion, and why I will not go again.

Really really disappointed not only was the sweet and sour pork totally tastles it was a Nersery school portion size dish with no sauce and more batter than pork not a satisfying meal the egg fried rice lacked kick of flavours and oomph and the best part of the disappointment the two dishes came to £20 .25 with the service charge TOTAL LET DOWN AND RIP OFF . I said from the beginning I wasn't happy with the tiny amount the waitress didn't offer to add more to my portion or any more sauce and then as I was paying the manager argued with me telling me that if thay notice a small portion thay will add more LOL so the fact I was a unhappy customer with regards to size of meal that didn't qualify an apology or a offering of slightly more portion sign of the times we're living in crap !

We enjoyed our dinner which consisted of Won Ton soup and Chicken & Sweetcorn soup, with garlic and chili bean curd on the side. These were followed by a steamed crab with rice wine and Ho Fun beef with black bean sauce. The food was terrific. Service was friendly and helpful.

Have eaten here many times with family and friends and the dim sum is impeccable, as are all of the dishes on this mostly Cantonese styled menu. For a large venue, the service is fast and good, and the ambiance friendly and bustling at lunchtime! Recommended!

Went for dinner, didn't have a booking with a group of 9 people. A short 10 minute wait and they managed to accommodate us. Service was ultra fast and efficient, anytime we wanted something they went to fetch it immediately. Food was also superb, not salty which alot of Chinese can be. Standout dishes were beef ho fun and their roast duck. Will return for their dim sum.

Terrible, order seafood set dinner, food not fresh, set dinner for 4, lobster was terrible, so much msg could not eat, dish left, did not offer another dish.

oh my days you must order the 麻辣雞煲 (spicy chicken hotpot?), the seasoning and spices are absolutely on point. everyone in the restaurant was asking what is this smell i want that dish so you know how good it smells. and i recommend ordering anything with wok hey in it like fried rice or noodles.

Food is alright, but at the same time don't expect it to be best food you are going to try. It gets very busy on Saturday around 12 to 1:45pm. After 2PM it settles down and is less busy and the queues are minimal. If you can go during the weekdays, it is not busy.

The restaurant is conveniently located with free parking within the Morrisons car park (under cover), but do check the sign as I believe it is only for 2 hours. The restaurant is large and spacious with plenty of tables. We walked in mid week and we were able to get a table without problem. If you want to have dim sum for Sunday lunch, either arrive for 11am or have a late lunch in order to avoid waiting. The food is very nice. The roast duck is amazing. For those who don’t know or don’t like to eat off the bone (like my wife and kids) you can ask them to de-bone it for you for a small charge. The service is ok but being such a big restaurant, you do have to make an effort to try and get the attention of the waiters. We had a lovely meal and would definitely come back for evening meal or for dim sum. The price is a bit on the high side but the food is of good quality and flavoursome so it is worth the money. Highly recommended.

Never really very keen about this place, and never understood why it was so popular. The waiters and waitresses could sometimes be under stress to cope, impacting the friendliness of the service they provide. The vegan options were very weak: not clearly labelled at all. That was a year ago. Last week, I revisited, when the restaurant was less hectic on that Saturday evening. The waiters and waitresses were more relaxed, and friendlier. One particular waiter was very attentive to my vegan needs, and the vegan dishes were tasty.

The food was excellent but we were forgotten by the waiters in a corner and the food came late. When we tried getting the waiters attention to get our food after 45 minutes, they were rude to us and mentioned that we shouldn’t have come if we were inpatient (after 45 minutes of wait). We decided not to pay for the service charge and the lady was adamant that we should and when we explained the situation she said ‘next time go upstairs’ don’t come here because here you have to pay service charge. We did say that as per the law if we are not satisfied we shouldn’t have to and she was like next time go eat upstairs food court it will be good for you. Disappointed in the service!!

Food was overpriced, didnt taste good, didnt look at all like what was shown on the menu and the staff didnt care and argued with my family over the splitting of a whole duck even though we spent a substantial amount of money, not worth it at all and possibly the worst dining experience Ive had ever.

So upset that they have a tiny lobster tank at the entrance! There's nothing in there except all the lobsters with their claws tied up and nothing to make them even feel safe. Even though they are sadly going to be eaten, the restaurant don't even care about their well-being whilst they are still alive. Cruel and so dissapointing. Why show off cruelty?

We try many Chinese restaurants for Yum Cha in London, the food with this price level, this one is the best at the moment. But some of the staff's attitude is so bad... such as no smile face at this occupation is not good enough.

I’m a bit sick and tired of low ratings for Chinese restaurants due to the “service being unfriendly” - it’s just different! Chinese folks are efficient folks, meaning typically less time for small talk and more time to get your food order into the kitchen and then to the table, clear the table and serve the next hungry customers. The food here is fantastic, albeit getting more expensive due to inflation but it’s authentic, tasty and portioned well. If you’re looking for lovely authentic dim sum in a classical Hong Kong style setting this is the place. If you’re looking for fusion food with a wine connoisseur and good discussions about where the pork was sourced then I’d recommend Nobu or something.

Food and service ok but they charge us more than 14% service charge and also we where seated by the entrance and was so so cold as people kept coming in and out as a result of that I can't move my neck, arm and shoulder plus I am out of 70£ Thanks but never again!

One of the best Chinese restaurants in London. Definitely a highlight for Colindale. If you're familiar with authentic Chinese food and restaurants this is a must. They also have a robot waiter, so that's an extra star right there!

Been eating here a long time, and up to now, the food has been amazing. So much so, that I have recommended loads of people to visit. However, yesterday, I could not believe how bad some of the dishes were. Seaweed that was obviously old and refried. Won Ton soup that was devoid of flavour. Then spare ribs that were impossible to chew or even cut with a knife. And finally sweet and sour chicken that was so tough and dried out it was impossible to eat. We ate the seaweed and soup but sent back the other two dishes, and fair play they were taken off the bill, but very disappointingly, no one from the restaurant, and they know me, offered any sort of apology. I really hope this was a 'one off' otherwise I'll be going to Good Earth, Singapore Gardens or Tai Pan instead. Remember, customers don't always tell you when it's bad, they just don't visit any longer! I will try you again, but unless you are back to where you should be, then it will be the last time. Really hope the owner reads this!

2 of us got a take away meal. Chow mien, rice, and ribs. This was £41. Double the price we normally pay elsewhere. The rice was ok. The ribs were solid with no meat. We couldn’t bite the little meat that was there. It was so hard and overcooked. The chow mien was more like a pack of 45p noodles you buy from lidl. Very dry and tasteless. The service was also deplorable when I collected our order. £41 for 3 dishes, you expect it to be decent. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back ever again. I’d rather eat dirt!

We've been eating at this restaurant since Bang Bang foodhall reopened and always have had fantastic service and food. However, we arrived early because it was always busy then got to the desk and told the lady that there were four of us. She then asked if everyone was present - I said that they pop upstairs to take the children to the toilet and I'll order straight away once seated but she said no as it's the restaurant and owner rules???? I waited at the seating area and my family came down within 5 mins then was told to continue waiting until the tables were ready loool. Once the table was ready for us, then I called a waitress as we're ready to order and was told that we're only allowed to order one time 😶🤔😱 I compliance and even order a whole roast duck to takeaway too. NEVER I MY WHOLE LIFE THAT BEEN TOLD THAT I CAN ONLY ORDER FOOD ONCE ANYWHERE LET ALONE IN A RESTAURANT AND I HAVEN'T EVEN MENTIONED ABOUT THE FOOD+PRICE YET 😲😡😡🤬🤬 This will be our last time eating at this restaurant because it's not the price but it's about bad management putting their staff under so pressure and not valued loyal customers so goodbye and I am so glad I've experienced the true side of the service and treatment from today's lunch with my wife and two children. Be aware but I'll leave it to your judgement.... Then again - I wished the press and food environment officer's visit the restaurant themselves one weekend and experience the treatment!

We've been eating at this restaurant since Bang Bang foodhall reopened and always have had fantastic service and food. However, we arrived early because it was always busy then got to the desk and told the lady that there were four of us. She then asked if everyone was present - I said that they pop upstairs to take the children to the toilet and I'll order straight away once seated but she said no as it's the restaurant and owner rules???? I waited at the seating area and my family came down within 5 mins then was told to continue waiting until the tables were ready loool. Once the table was ready for us, then I called a waitress as we're ready to order and was told that we're only allowed to order one time 😶🤔😱 I compliance and even order a whole roast duck to takeaway too. There are many types of dim sum.😋

There are too many people on Saturdays and Sundays, so when ordering food, you have to order the food in one go, and you are not allowed to refill it a second time. delicious food

I came in with my daughter and they refused to serve us. I think because we were black, anyone who came after us was served so we had to leave the restaurant.

I've been to this place on a number of occasions, and the food and atmosphere here has been pretty much the same. Be warned though, that if your food has not arrived yet, always enquire, because the chef sometimes forgets to cook the food! Overall, decent. A bit on the pricey side, but is quite delicious. Parking is next door, in the Morrisons Car park, but just beware of occasional lights going out for minutes. Heh. N.B: Kids go free for Chinese Tea I believe.
