As a family we enjoyed our experience! my fathers 90th. 11 dining the Service cannot be faulted, with Sharon heading up the team it was well organised and all waiting staff performed wonderfully and as we pre ordered chefs had time to prepare. Food no one complained, lamb shank was great, scallops, mixed grill all good! couple of small negatives on the calamari, but that's life. We thought it was great value for money and will be returning . Nice ambiance Thank you Sharon!

We visit occasionally and are always impressed by the consistently high level of friendly and professional service. The menu choices change regularly and there was again so much to choose from. The food was delicious and well presented and the wine and beer really good. Excellent value for money.

We went for a birthday meal. There was 8 of us. Two of us had "fillet steak" but coming from a farmers family and a butcher, we know 100% that the city of meat was not fillet despite the host and chef trying to pass the meat off as fillet. It was sirloin and it was delicious but definitely not worth the £29 and £26 paid.

Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. We feel it is absolutely perfect and our family guests on this occasion also thought it was the best place they’d ever eaten (in 50+ years!!) The ambiance is quiet, the decor is modern but understated, the staff are welcoming, polite and efficient without any sense of being obsequious, the menu is varied and the food is amazing, particularly considering that it is not overly expensive. It is wonderful to go to an eating establishment that includes linen napkins, nibbles with the drinks, iced water on the table, warm rolls and butter and with table service that is provided with proper etiquette (eg not leaning over customers, serving from behind, clearing unwanted tableware efficiently, etc) The young man who served us was exceptional - if I were his mother I’d be extremely proud of him! We will be back.

I booked this restaurant for evening meal having searched for somewhere a bit different to the readily available fish and chip fare. I had a lovely meal there. The restaurant had tables that were well spread out and the meal choices were interesting. I very much enjoyed my roasted peaches and mozzarella starter followed by marinated chicken (which was beautifully juicy) with potatoes and Caesar salad. I would have loved a dessert but was too full. I also thought the veggie chips as an extra and the chocolate with the bill were nice touches and the service was excellent.

We came for a family meal, 3 generations of family. The service was great from being greeted and shown to the table and the 2 waiting staff friendly, polite and could not do more. The choice of food is good and is all cooked fresh to order. Good quality and portion size. We had a variety of meals including the steak (perfectly cooked), fish and chips and roast. The childrens portions are very generous. The hot bread and vegetable crisps while you wait is a nice touch. There is no dessert menu, instead a dessert tray is bought around to show you what the desserts are for that night. The value for money is amazing. We definitely would return and highly recommend.

We visited here twice whilst staying nearby. Both times the service and food were excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. The chef even did a special order of roast potatoes (off menu) for one of us. The fish was super tasty and the burgers delicious. We all enjoyed a roast pork dinner with lots of veg the first night we went. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere very chilled. We will be back.

Unfortunately we only get to visit the windmill once a year as we are out of the area. Wish it was closer. Sharon and her excellent young team provide fantastic food in a comfortable environment. The food was plentiful and red hot as it should be. The dessert tray is an excellent way of showcasing the mouthwatering desserts on offer. Special mention to the young staff. We have been visiting for many years and it is great to see the young waiting staff and the polite and efficient way they serve the customers.

Away for a few days break and we had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. Food and service exceptional. I only wish we lived nearer, this would definitely be our go too place to eat.

Superb location superb food superb service. Menu was excellent with a great choice. Thai fish balls were just the right level of spicyness, duck was very tasty and the scallops perfect. The sweets were outstanding and the variety were to die for.

French themed evening last night. Everything superb. Tasted and presented just lovely. 3 of the 4 of us had different mains, each cooked to perfection. Service was very good, credit to the young waiters who are very pleasant and polite. We'll done to the whole team. We've been lots of times before and will certainly continue to return. We're local so definitely recommend.

We had a great experience at the Windmill restaurant for my partner's birthday. Booking was really easy - I just sent an email requesting a table and I was responded to in good time. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and the service was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Perfect! The food was brilliant! 4 out of 5 of us opted for the Sunday dinners, the other meal was a steak, and we all very much enjoyed our food. Despite being full, the dessert tray tempted a few of us to find room for pudding... Also very nice! I would certainly recommend a visit! ☺️

Went for Wife's birthday, there was 4 of us. Frankly it was fantastic. The food was really good. Absolutely the right size portions (although the chocolate brownie pudding which tasted delicious was a bit overfacing). Everyone delighted with dishes. Pie was excellent - chips were to die for. My wife had the risotto and loved it. Someone had the duck - and loved it! Food was great. And on top of that the staff were excellent - friendly, the right amount of attention, and they laughed our my jokes - even if they had heard them all before and they weren't funny!!!!!! Even loved the building/decor etc. They didn't try to make it look like a ponced up pub - this was just a smart, tidy, comfortable restuarant with plenty of space. Everyone has their own view, but we just thought it was wonderful, and excellent value for money.

Thanks Sharon and Chris, another delightful experience from beginning to end, really warm welcome and attentive friendly service. Food is delicious and lots of choice. We've been several times and always had great service and great food. The menu changes regularly and they have 'event' nights, so there's always something new to try.

We were staying locally on a mid week break, so this was our first visit. We'll definitely come again next time we're in the area. Food was absolutely delicious, and the service really efficient and friendly. (There was even an apology as it was fairly, quiet, but we were fine with that anyway.)

Took parents for weekend away and booked for afternoon cream tea at the restaurant. Contacted Sharon via email who was extremely helpful with the particulars of the menu. Arrived and fitted us in early as had elderly parents with mobility problems and our dog. Arranged a fantastic table outside in the sunshine for us with the most attentive service. Friendly and welcoming and the food was superb the best homemade Scones ever tasted. Price was very reasonable for the quality and service. We all had a wonderful afternoon and will definitely be back - thank you Sharon

Staying 25 minutes away on holiday, I found this place on TripAdvisor. Rang and booked a table that was worth the trip! Friendly staff. Fresh cool water on our table in a bottle with complimentary bread rolls. A good choice on the menu . Kids had chicken goujons, hubby Moroccan lamb , and myself pie of day(steak & ale) Offered more drinks when they got low. Food was fresh and all hot We couldn't resist the deserts! which is shown to you on a dessert board beforehand - nice touch . Relaxed Atmosphere, clean and well organised staff great to find definitely worth a visit 😊

We booked a last-minute getaway to Burgh Le Marsh to celebrate my wife's Birthday, accompanied by our two dogs. Walking around the village and after a pub lunch just off the market square, we came across the Windmill Restaurant that is located opposite co-op on the High Street. The restaurant was closed at the time and the menu looked just up our street. Unfortunately, with two dogs in tow, options can be more limiting but to our surprise and delight the Windmill Restaurant offered a delivery service. Without haste, we called the telephone number mid-afternoon, ordered our menu via the delightful Sharon, and she confirmed that our meal would be delivered to our accomdation that day in the early evening. The surprises did not stop, as the hot food was delivered on crockery, wrapped in foil and in a heat-retaining polystyrene thermal box. The cold options, our starters, mains accompanying Caesar salads (in beautiful glass bowls with lids) and a wonderful homemade cheesecake sat atop the box. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the garlic prawns were delicious and the accompanying fried potatoes (very posh chips) were the best. The only thing asked of us was to return the crockery the next day, and we of course obliged after washing. We cannot recommend the Windmill Restaurant enough, both for an excellent meal and perfect service. Well done to Sharon and this family-owned establishment, great job, keep up the good work and 5 stars all round. If you are staying in the area, you won't regret trying out the Windmill Restaurant in Burgh Le Marsh. We certainly won't hesitate in returning, should we be in the area again.

The whole experience was lovely, calm and clean environment, lots of room between tables. Staff polite and efficient and the food absolutely perfect. Definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Ordered a take away as staying nearby. We have never ordered a take away from a pub before, so thought we would give it a go. We are so glad we did. They food was delivered by a lovely couple, it arrived properly plated and still hot. The meal itself was lovely and great portion size. Would definitely recommend to others and will order again when staying nearby in the future.

Lovely evening, for our first supper out in over a year. The food was delicious and beautifully cooked. The service was unobtrusive, prompt, kind and caring.

In these trying times this restaurant provided first class service, excellent food and a very pleasant ambience.

We had 2 excellent 3 course meals delivered to our holiday cottage during a 3 night break. All meals were excellent. The main courses were big with lots of fresh vegetables. Dishes were wrapped in tinfoil and then put in a polystyrene box and were delivered piping hot by a very friendly lady with no delivery charge. Favourites were the scallops starters and the trifle desser. We also thought it was excellent value.

Ordered a takeaway to celebrate my birthday. Arrived on plates and packed in polystyrene box to keep it hot. Mushroom starters were great and the steak delicious. Will definitely order again

Takeaway option a must! We ordered a takeaway lunch from the Windmill. It was excellent. It came plated in foil and polystyrene boxes. It was piping hot and well presented. So much better than food coming in disposable boxes. The caramel and banana pavlova was delicious too. The restaurant return to collect their plates and boxes so no waste. Would definitely recommend.

Saturday lunch- incredible meal with Prawn cocktail and pear marinated in select salad then Salmon and and an incredible very generous mixed grill and a chips followed by a trio of deserts . Incredible taste and quality

My wife and I have visited this place every month since September, they change their menu every month and we have not been disappointed.A family run business and their attention to detail is exemplary, from the way they have adapted to dealing with the coronavirus situation to the way you are treated generally.The food is all homemade with all fresh produce.For what you are getting, the quality the food and the very friendly staff, this is excellent value for money.I cannot praise enough.

We've eaten here a few times. Well today because of covid we can commend the owners change round. Wasn't squashed felt really comfortable. THE FOOD WAS FAB, FRESH, TASTY. YUMMY. WHAT'S EVEN BETTER IF YOUR CHEESED OFF AT HOME THEY DELIVER.

We ordered from here twice whilst we were away. They delivered the food super fresh and hot on proper plates. We couldn’t fault anything. You can either drop your plates off the next day or they will collect from you whichever is more convenient. What a great idea!! I would definitely order from here again!!

We had a delicious meal here (family of four). The restaurant is very spacious. Great menu choice and absolutely delicious. Beautiful presentation too. The Windmill offers amazing customer service, fantastic wine and even better food!The menu was big enough to have a great selection of foods but not too big!! There was 6 of us dining and we were all look after.The food was absolutely gorgeous, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!!Even better, social distancing is adhered too. You wait in your car until your table is ready, then your waitress will come and bring you in and get you seated.

My family and I have eaten at the restaurant twice during our recent holiday, taking advantage of the eat out to help out scheme. The meal has been fantastic both times, and well worth full price. The staff are friendly, the food is of a high standard and the setting is relaxed. It has been lovely to sit and have a meal which has not been dominated by frozen chips and veg or greasy fish on a visit to the seaside. We can’t wait to visit again.

Food was to die for from Starters to desserts, asked for a blue steak was exactly what I got, the staff are very attentive and polite, very warm and comfortable surroundings, highly recommended.

We visited this lovely restaurant 12/8/20 Wednesday evening family meal for six. We were met at our car and escorted to our table. We had scallops, fillet steak with tiger prawns, beer battered haddock, homemade pie plus kids meals. All perfectly cooked and service was impeccable. How I wished I lived close to The Windmill I would be a regular. Thank you for a great evening.

Having called to book a table reservation, I was abruptly answered by a young lady who bluntly advised, can you phone back another day we’re extremely busy!I have never been spoken to in such a manner before and most certainly will not be making a booking with this restaurant.I would at least expect to be spoken to with respect no matter how busy a restaurant is, absolutely shocking that this is how staff at this restaurant speak to customers!!

We were staying on a camp site nearby and wanted a treat for my wifes birthday and the site owners had told us about the Windmills delivery service.Best decision we have made in a long time was to book a delivery to our Motorhome.The food arrived in the time slot advised and was superbly presented on crockery provided by the restaurant. We both really enjoyed the starters and the main course remained hot in the insulated container it was delivered in.The steak was cooked exactly as requested and the vegetables were tasty and not overcooked. I had the steak pie which was packed with lovely tender meat. We could not have asked for a better quality and tasty meal and we cannot wait to comeback to the area again so that we can have another meal.To end a superb experience the crockery was collected the next morning.Thanks for a wonderful experience.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant!Ive dined at some of the best in the world and this is no exception!Your greeted by the suberb staff, where your drinks order is taken, you will get a pot of vegetable crisps with your drink, which is a lovely touch especially if you have been travelling a long way!The menu is both extensive with dishes that will cater for all tastes.Food is ALL home made, fresh and delicious. Deserts are bought out on a tray so you can pick your own! A, fantastic selection of fine wines, crafted ales and beer. Food is always well cooked and a good mix of favourites and slightly more adventurous dishes. The monthly menu is excellent value however on this visit had the seabass and the scallops from the a la Carte menu yum!

Lovely place for a great meal,,, the food is very good.... (I had seabass and thai fishcake dou ) cannot fault any of it.... The staff are very freindly and would def go back again

A really nice restaurant that serves excellent quality food. The interior is light and airy with ample space between tables giving a more intimate feel. The waitress service was excellent and all the staff really friendly and welcomin all in all a great place to eat that I would recommend.

While having a weekend away I had looked for nice places to eat not too posh or expensive but good quality food. The Windmill restaurant came up and we decided to try it. We were early evening diners, but we were not alone, there was already a local couple in. The set menu is changed each month and it’s great value. £16 for 2 courses and £20 for all three. I had pheasant croquets for starter and fish pie for main course. My husband had soup (mushroom) to tart and then chicken in stroganoff sauce. All were lovely, fresh tasty and good portions. My only disappointment was that the deserts were almost all cream based, leaving only lemon sponge, which I didn’t fancy. But the desert options change regularly so had it been another day things might have been different. Drinks were not over priced either. Two courses each and drinks for under £40, you can pay that in a some fairly average pubs, for fairly rubbish food. Spend your money at the Windmill restaurant and you will not be disappointed.

I visited this restaurant with some friends who live in the area and who have used the Windmill on many occasions. It certainly lived up to expectations, with a very friendly atmosphere and very good food. There is quite a wide choice, over 3 courses, if you want, we all 4 of us chose differently and everyone had an excellent meal. Highly recommended for that extra bit of difference over traditional pub fare.

Wonderful food so well presented. I love a restaurant that constantly changes its set menu to take into account the seasons. Friendly staff and very busy with the locals which also proves a point. I’d suggest booking a table. We went on a Saturday night and it was full.

This was our first visit with friends on our usual get together having thought about visiting for a while.

We visited the windmill tonight, and from the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out it was brilliant. When we first walked in we were made very welcome, we sat down and a lady came and took out order, she was a very polite lady. The food was great! It was a very clean place. After we finished our main course the polite lady came and gave us a choice of what we wanted for dessert. What a great restaurant, it is highly recommended, thank you windmill we will be back many more times in the future.

We had Sunday lunch here in July (staying at Faulkers Lakes) and can recommend the food and service. We enjoyed our roast that much that we returned for steaks on our last evening.

I booked a Sunday lunch here for my wife's 50th birthday having spotted it on a visit to the windmill itself. Truly, I wish I hadn't. Four of us ate, and all of us had the same opinion; bland and tasteless. It smacked of everything being frozen and re-heated- we could be wrong, but if we are then what reason can there be for everything having no flavour and some of it being slightly on the tough side? We aren't ones to complain, but it was fairly obvious from the plates which went back fairly full that something wasn't right, but nothing was said until the end when we were asked 'was everything alright'. And so we said 'sorry, but if you want an honest opinion, it was very bland'. The response was defensive, and all that says to us is they didn't want to hear it. We were also pestered incessantly by flies, which in itself isn't the restaurants fault, but no-one observed it (despite being obvious) or did anything to alleviate it. And we paid £30 a head which included no alcohol or dessert. We never mind paying well for something that is good, but this just wasn't. Honestly, there are far better places to eat, we will not go back.

The windmill is truly a beautiful place to eat, friendly staff and service, great food and great surroundings. If the lamb burgers happen to be on the menu when you visit I highly recommend them :)

Heard good things about this restaurant. We weren’t disappointed - the services was excellent, as was the food and loved the idea of the sweet tray so you could see what your sweet looked like before you ordered - makes it harder to resist. Good value for money for the standard of food ordered. I would advise booking as it gets very busy.

Greeted with a smile and a lovely welcome. We were given a menu & our drinks order was taken. The meal was lovely, service was good & we had a lovely evening. Would recommend this place.

My friend and I requested a table for two for lunch (we had not booked in advance) and were instructed to sit in the outer area to wait - although the main restaurant was practically empty. Was this a 'ploy' to encourage us to order drinks? Neither of us were excited by the choice of vegetarian mains so I asked if it were possible for each of us to have two starters plus a dessert, which was readily agreed to. My friend had a tiny bowl of mushroom soup (which she said was delicious) and I had the battered mushrooms with garlic dip (which was also delicious) and we both had the goats cheese and beetroot starter as well, which was very average. I realise that these were all 'starters', but even so the portions were somewhat small. We then both had a dessert and I particularly liked that these were produced on a tray so we had a visual choice of what we could have. The desserts were very good. The waiting staff were very polite and friendly but the decor was somewhat reminiscent of an up-market City of London cocktail lounge - NOT especially warm and welcoming. Considering that we had a total of four tiny starters and two desserts with one drink each, I felt that a total bill of just over £55.00 was more than a little excessive!

You enter the restaurant into a bar area with three areas of high backed, uncomfortable dining chairs, where you are instructed to sit, necessarily with other diners-in-waiting, to have a drink before being seated at a table, despite the fact that we arrived at the time we made the table booking. Everyone seemed to be subjected to the same patronising treatment.

Visited this lovely restaurant for the 2nd time having been impressed the 1st visit 12 months ago. Good to recognise many of the very friendly staff. We booked in for 5:30 and the restaurant soon got busy... running a set menu and an a la carte. We had 3 courses of the set menu which is good value for money.

We popped in for lunch on Good Friday on the way home from Spring Harvest in Skegness. We have always struggled to find good quality food in the area & when this restaurant came up in an internet search I remembered I'd enjoyed the food at a funeral wake there (it must have been good as it was over 5 years ago).

Had our first visit today and have to say I cannot find fault with anything. The service was fantastic and the food lovely and hot, and absolutely yummy! The desserts are all homemade and you are spoilt for choice. The prices are really good too, we will definitely be back!

A superb meal and outstanding service. Even remembered my mum is disabled so had a carver chair ready! On such a busy day, all staff were organised, relaxed and friendly, making our meal a truly pleasurable experience. The food was of a high standard with no clue that the kitchen must be manic!!! No delays. Well done all and now breathe. Never had a bad meal here. Excellent varied menu and definitely recommend

After being recommended this restaurant and reading reviews on here we decided to give it a try for my wife’s birthday. We arrived quite late for lunch at about 1.30 (the restaurant closes for lunch service) but we were made to feel welcome and were shown to seats in the bar area whilst we studied the menu and ordered.

On arrival we had to wait in the bar area which the seats was very uncomfortable.The food was excellent you could not fault the food, There was 3 young girls waitressing and a very young boy, all which did an excellent job however behind the bar was a lady serving drinks when she gave us our bill she had put 2 extra steaks and 2 extra sauces on our bill. When I went to pay the bill I quired this and she said oh I will take it off, she never apologised for this then she said are you local.Iam not sure weather this was done intentionally or not, I feel if it was a mistake then she should apologise for this but she didn’t. And yes i am local and have been here many times but after tonight i am not happy with the service which has really let the place down, it makes me wonder how many people have had extras on there bill without them noticing.

Went on the 6th of December for the wife's birthday, joined by the family. Good selection of food on the menu, beautifully prepared and well priced. We'll be back 🙂👍

not having visited Windmill for a cpl of years recently returned foe birthday meal plenty of parking lovely atmosphere really friendly welcome coats taken seated in lounge with drinks nicely served and presented while meal order and table organised interesting and varied menu £16 for 2 courses £20 for 3 ! excellent value for money locally sourced veg meats sweets all home cooked and served as quickly or slowly as requ as almost Xmas mince pies coffee mint offered foc would highly recommend to anyone

I booked the Windmill Restaurant for my wife's 60th birthday, at the time we were staying in Skegness, taxi to and from the restaurant, the restaurant was well presented very clean , service was excellent as was the food ,very happy with our visit, and would visit again when in that area.

My dad and I visited this charming and welcoming setting.we both thogherly enjoyed a starter of duck pancakes.i had seabass and my dad had pork. Everything looked and tasted delicious.staff were attentive and hard working.

Restaurant located adjacent to the old windmill and has a pleasant bar area and dining room. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a choice of lunchtime menus with a very good range of dishes available. The food was excellent, steak and lamb dishes cooked to our liking and the fish dishes were enjoyed by the rest our party. The starters and desserts were also very pleasing. Sadly the whole experience was marred somewhat by the actions of someone on a nearby table who, among other things, conducted his business over several 'phone calls at full volume.

Nine of us on holiday in Burgh Le Marsh celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary there on Sat 22nd September. A little disappointed with the dated decor, everything was brown or beige, very 70’s! Food was average but good value as was the wine. Staff and service were excellent.

Beautiful food, good value, great choice of food and drink, attentive staff, great surroundings. Whats not to like?

Tried here through the week , on Sunday , and on special occasions ... brilliant taste experience , outstanding service , terrific staff on every occasion . Not the cheapest but great surroundings and well worth the extra to turn an ordinary meal out into an extravaganza. Looking forward to my next visit.

Phoned at 6 for a 6-30 meal for 3 and were told no problem, we arrived and got a lovely smile from the waitress and she called us by name as we were the only party of 3 booked that night, we sat down got some drinks and some free snacks before our meal, when the meal was ready the waitress carried our drinks to the table, we chose the 3 course meal for £20 from a great choice menu, the food was first class and cooked to perfection, we enjoyed it all so much that we were going to cook ourselves on the last night of our holiday but we went back the next night for more of the same.

Superb food, excellent service, pleasant location. Definitely worth another visit. Try the themed evenings.

The food was amazing and the price was really good, the staff was so friendly aswell, I would recommend anyone that is in the area to go.

Visited this weekend with family for Sunday lunch, good choice as this little restaurant is definitely worth 5 stars. Quantity, Quality of food and service were all first class. We all had the Turkey dinner with fresh vegetables followed by a good choice of sweets.

So pleased that we found this restaurant on TripAdvisor! Visited last night as a family of four and all had the set menu which was delicious and superb value for money. Service was excellent and a real throw back to quality restaurants of the past which made us feel very special and valued. Special mention goes to the young waiter and waitress who had impeccable manners, fantastic smiles and were super helpful. We will be back again for sure when we next visit Chapel.

My husband booked the windmill as a surprise meal out . The windmill is a relaxed comfortable restaurant with lovely staff. We had a drink while choosing our meal in the bar area then we were taken to our table by a very polite young lady, the young man who served us our drinks was so polite and made me feel that there are some young people out there who know/or have been taught old fashioned behaviour.

Once again it was an absolute pleasure to eat here. I like to choose food that I would not cook for myself at home. Tonight I chose the duck spring rolls with hoisin sauce and salad for my starter. The spring rolls were piping hot and delicious. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was very pleasant. My main course of lemon sole in a spinach and cream sauce with potatoes and vegetables was heavenly. The sole was so fresh and delicate. I chose a duo of desserts for my final course- Chocolate mousse and baileys cheesecake. Both were excellent but I preferred the Baileys cheesecake. This restaurant is something very special with fabulous food and staff who are delightful,- very friendly, professional and helpful. Will be calling again.

We visited this place for Sunday lunch which was a 3 course menu for £17.95. We had starters of 2 x Thai fish cakes with sweet chili sauce and 1 prawn egg Marie Rose and 1 ham hock terrine with chutney and toast. We all had the roast beef and yourshire pudding with 4 slices of beef which was really nice plenty of gravy and roast and mashed potato and a good choice of vegetables. This was followed by a sweet of a type of strawberry Eton mess. Followed by coffee. Very good value for money, lovely food and plenty of it and very tasty. If we’re visiting friends in Louth again would definately go back.

Me, my husband and my baby girl have just come from this wonderful little place. We were so so so impressed. We were firstly greeted by a lovely lady, Sharon, who seated us in a small waiting area whilst we ordered drinks and browsed the menu.
