First time visiting Willowtree and delighted to find that my dog was also welcome (downstairs in café). My friend and I enjoyed tea and delicious scones whilst he tucked into a lovely puppachino kindly supplied by our friendly waitress. Great service, good food and super friendly. Will definitely be back.

Choose to eat upstairs by one of the window tables and had a great view of Comber Square and its monuments below.Enjoyed the piping hot stuffed roast chicken and bacon with all the trimmings in this homely and friendly little place.Plenty of "daily specials"on offer which the waitress informed us of so will look forward to the next visit.Only drawback is they do not accept cards so bring cash.

Thankyou to the very kind waitress who put in a pound of her own money to save me running out to cash point as it's a cash only establishment very kind of her. Also, sandwiches lovely and fresh and staff very friendly.. Didn't have one but the grey's smelt and looked lovely!!

I was alarmed on so many levels. With hindsight I should have left. Tables were too close, the staff did not wear masks, the table was barely wiped between customers and the payment was cash only. I will definitely not be back

Called in after travelling about 100 miles from our 2 day break. We were shown to our table and given menus. We ordered tuna baked potatoe and the club sandwich along with coffees. Our server brought the coffees whilst we waited a short time for our food to arrive. The club sandwich was excellent and I paid tribute to them for it. They did not have a card machine and we were lucky to have enough to cover it. Will definely call again if in the area

Its great to see the Willowtree back open again. However trading methods are now different for obvious reasons and if we dont adhere to them there will be consequences. The Willowtree is by its own build fairly compact. I was alarmed to count all tables full in the back room (26 people counted at one stage) with no hope of social distancing whatsoever. Some of these were very old people. 20 centimetres apart, if that Only the table tops wiped down between sitings and i witnessed one family walk in and sit straight at a table that had not been cleared at all ! Surely there must be a system of wait to be seated. The sauce and vinegar bottles being passed around tables between families without disinfecting. Is this even allowed? In short there is no concept whatsoever of covid 19 restrictions within the place bar a few staff (but not all) wearing a face shield. You cannot have 26 persons in the one small room and say this is safe You cannot have condiments being passed around the tables and say this is safe. You cannot just simply wipe down a table top and say this is safe Its not ! You need to reduce the seating area to create a safer space for all. Its as if nothing has changed since you closed. Things have...you need to adapt accordingly. You havent. I wont be back.

I was in on Saturday with my daughters and her friends that were staying overnight, as a treat I took them to the "Willowtree". It was top class from start to finish they were extremely busy and my first thought was this was going to be long but it was quicker than I thought and the food was piping hot and tasted great. We have been here before and its been good but this was even better I was delighted with the service, food, and of course price! I would strongly recommend

Went in for a quick lunch recently. Three paninis ordered. It took almost half an hour for them to come out, one of which was a chicken tikka where the sauce was warm but the chicken was cold. The other two were grand. I won't be rushing back.

Been taken over a while ago now and food has gradually deteriorated now to them using plastic bacon, the cheap crap you buy for a pound for ten slices(10%meat) as well as overpriced "art" up over the place. Service slow and not with a smile.

I go here from time to time to get a good honest home cooked breakfast or lunch with great service, reasonable prices and I am made feel very welcome. Great too for children’s meals, brilliant alternative to McDonald’s with a wide variety to choose from. I’ve lived in the area for about twelve years and only been coming to the Willow Tree for about two. Give it a try, once discovered you’ll be hooked.

First visit here today. The restaurant is is nicely decorated, spotless and tidy. We arrived at the end of what looked like a busy lunch time service. We went to an empty clean table. Menus on the table had a variety of choices. The server came to our table and explained that there were daily specials. Ordered cheese bacon and onion wedges and a Blt sandwich ,both excellent.Extra portion of coleslaw which was homemade.Servers were pleasant and attentive. We both enjoyed our lunch. The meals were reasonably priced, would go again. Thank you very much for a good experience. Jim and lorraine.

My Daughter and her friend visited this place on Friday 30th November 2018. They called in after school and ordered food and drinks. When waiting for their food the lady in charge came and said "girls I have to move you". She then moved them to a table with a complete stranger. It's a disgrace for two people to be moved to accommodate two other people. I would understand if it was to accommodate someone with a disability or something but it's clear that they were only moved because they were an easy target. The management didn't have the courage to move adults and instead picked on two school girls. I called the restaurant this morning to complain and the lady who moved them completely buried her head in the sand and said it was justified. SHAMEFUL

A group of 6 biker friends called here for lunch on Sat 4th. It was busy. It despite that we were seated immediately. Good choice of daily specials and menu dishes were available. Our choices were the roast beef dinner, Omelettes, and chicken stack with pepper sauce. Meals come with your choice of chips or spuds as you prefer. Proper size sauce boat and all the dishes were delicious and plenty on them. We will definitely be back. Didn’t have room for a sweet but next time with a coffee.

They got renovated and the place is looking well. I don't really like home made styled food. I prefer more mainstream restaurant food styles. I got a large fry and it was a bit smaller than I expected. ask the waiter what your getting in your food.

my friend and I were in Comber just for a short trip, we spotted the menu in a window and went upstairs. Such a lovely, quaint wee place. Like you remember from old movies, but so clean and quiet. It sits overlooking the main square and although there was traffic outside the whole time we were not aware of its noise.

We have been customers of this restaurant for many years. The previous owner, an excellent chef but let the place get sad and neglected. Two sisters(Carol & Heather) took over ownership about three years ago, they worked hard at not only retaining the existing customers but built on that. A few months ago they took the plunge and completely refurbished the whole establishment - right from the front door! The walls have been expertly designed and painted by Heather's artist son. He also had a big hand in the total transformation of the restaurant. From an unloved, drab eatery, there has been a massive change. It is now a very beautiful, bright, chic and comfortable place to enjoy all they have to offer. The food is fresh daily and cooked to order. The breakfasts are by far the best in town and the home cooked lunches are very generous - enough to satisfy the most hungry and without breaking the bank. I know they have had private party bookings for the evening and all very successful. A warm welcome is assured and one is never felt rushed. Daily papers are provided, or you can enjoy people watching from the first floor window over the square! A wee gem and getting better by the day.

Extremely disappointing. Ordered the Boxing Day toastie, double checked it did not include cheese (menu didn't state it and asked the person taking order). Came covered in brie. Couldn't be eaten. But it was also barely toasted, and overall looked unappetising. Kids meal at £6.50 was also ridiculously expensive for what it is.

We had a lovely lunch which as regular diners in France couldn't fault. All good for us and fir what we had good value. I'm not a burger fan in a place like this although I understand it has to be on the menu, plenty of places elsewhere to have a cheap burger so I suggest that's where you go but dine here for great local food

Please ignore the bad reviews posted here. I can speak personally for the latest one left last week there, which is completely inaccurate. We come in every week and even though we tend to sit in the same seats, we wait to be shown to a table by the staff. People tend to forget it is still a restaurant and showing yourselves to a table isn’t the way to do things. Little less entitlement and a little more patience instead. Alchemy is an absolutely fantastic spot. As I’ve mentioned, we come every Sunday and the staff and the food are the reason for this. I would encourage everyone who is passing though Greyabbey to pay a visit here BUT would call ahead first because it is very popular and can be busy at certain times. Keep doing what you’re doing Alchemy, we will be your customers for life and continue to praise you at every opportunity :)
