Wild Flour Pizza in Brighton and Hove

This is a take-away for a very good reason: it would be queueing down to the seafront if it was a sit-down! Absolutely top-draw dough /cheese/ flavour-combo /texture sensation virtuosity - made to seem simple ... but far from it! ...right down to the 'dough-nut' desert experience!!!

We love Wildflour Pizza! There is no better spot to sit out on a summer’s day or order delivery from on a frosty night! I personally love the buffalo chicken salad…my husband loves the pizza version…but Friday night we had the most amazing Tandoori pizza!! So this is my humble request to please make that a permanent fixture on the menu!! It was incredible!

Wild flour pizza is excellent, can't fault it. Unfortunately, they rely on deliveroo for their deliveries. We live 1.5 miles away from the venue and dispite this, and paying delivery charges, service charges, riders tips, 9 times out of 10, our pizzas are cold... we don't expect to pay a premium for cold food..getting really tired of this..

Best pizza in the south of England. No question! So much choice for vegetarians too. I never know whether to have the mushroom one or the simple one but this time went for the simple one. Delicious!

Great pizzas best ordered for collection or delivery...not a restaurant as such but there are a few tables in the garden of this rural pizzeria...can't book one, so it's just a chance you could get one. But online ordering works well.....we collected...parking is on the roadside in a village just outside Brighton on the east side, so take care. Deliveroo etc seems to work too. Pizzas have a great crust with flavoursome dough, cooked with just enough 'char'. A few salads also available...the one we tested - salmon - was very good. So good we ordered again a couple of nights later.

Visited Wild Flour for the first time today. The pizzas are amongst the best we've ever tried. I'm not a local to Ovingdeen, but will definitely make the trip out from Hove again as it's so good!

We visited on Saturday evening and ate outside in the garden area. My 4 year old summed it up perfectly, saying ‘That was the best pepperoni pizza of my entire life’. We will definitely be back; delicious pizzas, friendly staff and a perfect location. What more could you ask for?!

Having lived in NYC I thought no pizza here would ever make me miss Brooklyn …the simple cheese and tomatoe pie called ‘the simple’…WOW … simply the best I have ever had !

I was visiting a friend who lives in Rottingdean and we decided to order pizza from you. A neighbour told us you delivered our pizzas just after 6pm. She was aware of the knocking and shouting. However, we had ordered for 6.30 to 7pm because we were arriving back from Brighton at 6.30 pm, not before. So when we got there at 6.30 they were on the ground by the door and were stone cold. However, they were also very unpleasant. I lived in Italy for 10 years and these pizzas were so far removed from those Italians would eat; they were horrible, inedible. The bases were fine. But I’ve never seen such meagre toppings - the thinnest scraping of tomato sauce and cheese and the extra toppings (which cost extra) were a joke, a few strands of pepper, an anchovy and some horrible artichoke leaves (no heart) from a jar of vinegar, the taste of which contaminated the whole top of the pizza. I know there is a good profit to be made from some dough and a bit of cheese and tomato, and that practice is universally accepted in England, but actually scrimping on the amount of the topping is pushing things a bit far. The pizzas, approx. size 10 inches, are over £12 each. My friend was following a recommendation from a local resident but realises now that her praise stems from an over-zealous desire to support anything local, whatever the quality.

Delicious, freshly-made pizza with a really thin and tasty crust. A lovely spot to pick your pizzas up or sit and eat them out of the box. We would be back again if we didn't live on the opposite side of the country!

Was really looking forward to my first 'The Spicy One' Pizza from Wild Flour Pizza but it simply did not make the grade. So what was actually on this £12. pizza ? Well not a lot really, a few slices of Jalepeno peppers, two of the thinnest slices of spicy salami I have ever seen (Approx. .005 thousands of an inch) , a few chilli flakes and some tomato sauce. As for the Fior Di Latte or possibly Mozzarella I do not believe they actually used any or hid it very cleverly beneath the tomato sauce. It was simply overpriced, uninspiring and dull. The base was nice though. My two friends who ate with me were similarly disappointed with their pizzas and lack of toppings. The one positive note was their Slaw was surprisingly good.

Respectfully, ALL staff with long hair must be using hair nets or have it up at a minimum. The first long grey hair I wasn’t happy about but let it slide, the second I was really not happy (trying to convince myself it might have been the same) the third I stopped and decided to search for more hairs after being fully put off my food. I found the forth and I will never order from here again. You’re taking the absolute p!ss. It would be minus had my partners not been fine. For a regular £50 order this is not acceptable. We order local for quality and support local. We may as well order yummies if it’s like this. Half the price, not as good but consistent. Never again for me, my partner will try again

If you want a soggy bottomed wet pizza, then go elsewhere! The crust is light and crispy with the right amount of chew. The Buffalo Chicken one is the best. Please bring it back.

My partner had a New York pizza. Which was nice and fiery her words not mine. I had the special the Mac one! Amazing! Slow cooked smoked beef brisket with their own “mac” sauce and crispy onions to add another dimension. We will be going back.

I happened across this place, while on a walk, and brought the kids for a friday treat. The pizzas were so good that we didn't even bother to get out of the car and scoffed them down there and then.Last night I returned. I had a beautiful sunset walk, over East Brighton Golf course and walked down to Ovingdean. I ordered the special: the Tuscan One. Olives, salami, truffle oil, herbs and parmesan, I think.This time I scoffed my pizza on a bench up the road.The thing is, this pizza is really good. I mean, REALLY good. Every aspect of the pizza is a bit better than most. The olives were real black olives, not those woody, dyed black ones.The tomato sauce was fresh and really tomatoey. The herbs are fresh! and plentiful. Every single bite is good, from beginning to end.But the best bit is the crust. It has that slight translucence of a properly proved dough, it it light and chewy but not tough, it has a lovely crisp crunch, like a ciabatta, but not the big holes. It seems to be dusted with cornmeal, which gives it an extra crunchiness, too.But the flavour!!! It is the best pizza crust and I can guarantee it still tastes amazing for breakfast the next day. This time, I went back to get a garlic bread too, because I was enjoying it so much.The garlic bread was amazing as well! really garlicky and buttery and herby and cheesy. It was truly superb and I ate it all as well. The food is so well made and the dough is so well proved that I didn't even get indigestion. (although i did have to walk for abut 4 hours until I stopped being full) I'm regretting not leaving some to have for breakfast.

After a long shutdown day of the kids teaching me roblox, I neglected to cook dinner. So pizza it was! we discovered this place onA country walk and earmarked it for our next place to try because the toppings looked so good. And we were right! It was ready really fast and super delicious, too! I think it might be the best pizza I’ve ever had in Brighton. The dough had the lovely, slightly translucent glossy crisp of a real Italian pizza.The toppings were a generous wallop of flavour.The people were really nice and welcoming. I threatened to marry them and they didn’t even stop smiling. It was served through the hatch in a lovely garden and we went and sat in the porch of the church and scarfed it down. It was altogether a rather lovely experience.

We are so delighted to have this great little place right in the heart of Ovingdean! I think we have ordered pizza practically every week since we moved here. The pizza's are really good. Not always so authentic italian toppings but hey they are free to experiment. The staff are friendly and the whole online ordering process is as simple as it could be. Orders often a few minutes early and never a minute late. Definitely recommend.

Great being able to have top quality pizzas in Ovingdean freshly made. Service is well organised and you can pay in advance and arrange time slot for collection. Only gripe is that it's a bit expensive if feeding a family when there are other decent pizza places a bit further away with cheaper prices on their basic pizzas. Still.. it's nice as a treat now and again.

We regularly order a pizza to take away from Wild Flour because the pizza dough is so crisp and tasty and the toppings are fresh and full of flavour - particularly the Mushroom One but even the Simple One is a cut above anything we have tasted in the UK - their pizza’s are as good as those we have had in Italy if not better - the new place has a lovely ambience and you can bring your own wine and they provide all cutlery and crockery to eat in - there is very nice Jazz playing and a buzz about the place - it was full the last time we visited as the garden is too wet and cold now but through the summer there have always been lots of people there enjoying the atmosphere and the great food - you need to park round the corner in the village and walk there ideally as parking nearby is limited but its well worth it - we are do grateful to have such a treasure close by and wish them well for the future

What a great little place! This is definitely the best pizza I have had in 10 years in the UK and one of the best I have ever had (including my whole life in Italy where I am from). Dough was so soft and light and yet crispy. And just the right amount of toppings too.... Lovely people as well which always helps! Very nice and helpful. They have a few tables so we sat outside. Last week I had the pizza of the week "The Pesto One". I can honestly say it was the tastiest pizza I have ever eaten. Absolutely delicious, I wish they did it every week.

Superlatives do not do it justice, you only have to take a gentle, hungry bite into the perfect crust to feel it crunch lightly, melt into an airy chew, (rare to find and sooo moreish), the base toasted to perfection by the stone floor of the smokey wood oven, every mouthful embellished by the aromas and flavours of uncompromisingly best quality fresh ingredients that are bursting into life in your mouth to know that these guys are not playing at it, they are nailing it! Having made my own pizzas from scratch for over 40 years, with often restaurant-beating results (IMHO!) I can appreciate the level of passion, hard work, willingness to go through trial and error, and relentless search for perfection that is the only route to being the best you can be. They are! I’ve eaten amazing pizzas in Italy and in tens and tens of other countries and these stand out as up there among the finest I’ve ever, not just tasted, but experienced. Mmmm mmmmm! Those ingredients though!!?? Soooo gooood!! Charcuterie that melts in the mouth yielding deliciousness, chilli oil that is spot-on and rich, herbs abound in the meatballs and the cheese actually adds taste too! Cycling from Hove to such a hidden Gem with a pannier full of BYOs was just such a unexpectedly brilliant experience, and made such a welcome change from the usual disappointment felt at restaurants who focus on making money by skimping on quality rather than creating the best pizzas they can. The phenomenal Pizza oven is huuuge! It’s the real deal and again stands testament to the effort and expense that has been poured in to their venture. I wish you all the success you deserve which is massive! Very fair flat pricing scheme at £10 a pop which I loved too. Thank you all so much will be back ASAP and will be spreading the word too!

We cycled up to this place and walked through a lovely garden with tables and lights. Maybe just a bit cool for us after drinking cold beers on the beach. So we sat inside in a nice cosy atmosphere and ordered of a simple menu.

Its important when searching for great pizza that you pay attention to the base - Wild Flour have the best base for miles around across the county - of the dozen or so times we have taken advantage of this super little food gem in Ovingdean we have never been disappointed - fresh ingredients abound and often due to busy collection slots - made in those few minutes your waiting - its a great highlight to our food week.

Very good menu choice for a tenner and excellent to see it made in the oven. Comfy seating inside and outside. Take your own wine or beer. Good fast service

We ordered by phone and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I have Celiac Disease so can't eat gluten and the lady I spoke to was well informed, she told me that while the do gluten free pizzas they can not make any guarantees about cross contamination. She assured me they do all they can to avoid any cross contamination and I decided to go ahead with the order.

Just tried the Wild Flour Vegan The Mushroom One and garlic bread. The pizza was fine and the garlic bread was really good but smaller than expected. The whole experience was a bit haphazard first with my order not found on their system, then obviously the food not being ready for pickup, and finally not having the vegan butter for this pizza. That said the staff were very apologetic.

I have been to Wild Flour several times since it opened and as I now live close by it is my "go to" place on a Thursday - and now Fridays too! Yay!

We have just devoured The Mushroom One. I've said it before and I'll say it again; you'll not find a more delicious pizza anywhere in Brighton. I booked online, swung by to collect two delicious pizzas and back home for EastEnders! It's another perfect Thursday evening!

I placed my order easily online and received a very prompt response to questions asked about portion sizes. Due to someone else collecting our delivery I also asked if I could make payment in advance. Virginia then promptly set their new online ordering system to live and off I went - first online order made and paid in full, and my sister collected.

I love pizza and i now love Wild Flour pizza for some very special reasons. The Ocean pizza was superb but perhaps more importantly, a trip over the hill to Ovingdean felt like a trip to Babbington House in terms of a relaxed, personal and really slick operation. Felt like i was transported to another world and its walking distance from me - i am so sold i cant tell you!

You won’t eat better pizza than this. Fresh, feisty and served with finesse. A fantastic addition to a lovely village run by people who truly care. You can taste it. Thursdays will never be the same again. Thank you Wild Flour Pizza.

We've been ordering pizzas from Wild Flour for the last couple of years and they are truly the best pizzas we've ever had- anywhere! The menu is short but perfect with a pizza of the week which changes every Thursday. Only complaint is they only open on a Thursday but they are worth waiting for! Lovely family business too with an easy online ordering and booking system.

Love Wild Flour Pizza - their pizza dough and toppings are delicious and the booking app to order and collect makes it really easy - I would also recommend their delicious home-made slaw. The hardest part of ordering is deciding which Pizza to have.

Been coming to Wild Flour since they first opened... tried most of the pizza places in Brighton but this is my absolute favourite- it’s always been excellent!
