Wiff Waff Premium Sports Bar in Ipswich

As someone who enjoys coming to wiff waff (especially for karaoke every other thursday), my short lived experience this evening was so offensive. Every time we’re welcomed and its always a fun night however i wish i could say the same about today. As my friends and I approached our table before we even managed to sit down we were chased by an employee (though you wouldn't tell) instantly asking us for ID (all of us 18+) which is fair enough but she was passive aggressive about it and after she told us we have to order something to stay there as if there was an assumption we wouldn’t (we didn’t even get the chance to sit down). Personally by this experience my friends and I felt as though we were profiled and instantly had assumptions made about us and the way she approached and treated us was so inhumane that we left immediately. Wiff waff… you will not be missed.

Loud music and bass fires through apartment buildings above and around. No regard for residents given at all

I like the place. The kids like coming for some drinks and games. The staff etc are good and friendly. I know not everywhere has loads of cash. But it’s seriously run down. Check out the darts board in the pic. And the toilet is disgusting. Chewing gum on the wall. Pool table lighting poor. Many ceiling spotlights not working. It is pretty run down. Which is a shame as could be really nice. Just seems quite dirty and run down a bit like an old school social club. The large tv is good. I suppose most good reviews are from people having beer and food while watching a game. This would be fine. But if going for games etc will be in for a bit of a shock.

Went here a couple months back for a staff night out, Kylie and darren were brilliant and very helpful. Everyone enjoyed karaoke and the food. Will definitely be back soon!

This was my first visit, nice place to unwind.

Good little hangout near the docks, close to town and plenty to do. Went in for the football and enjoyed a few other activities. The food was americanised bar snacks but really well cooked. Looking forward to going again. Staff were amazing, remembered our orders for repeat drinks and looked after everyone in the group, lovely bunch

This place needs some serious management. Staff sitting on the floor behind the bar, the place is dirty and toilets are a health hazard. Could be a great venue with a half decent manager. Until then I would avoid! If EHO turned up I'm pretty sure it would be closed there and then.

Not sure on food as didn't have any but drinks and atmosphere good with karaoke and good crowd of people would recommend after Xmas meal and fancy a few drinks after

Loved this place. My first time and it was a great atmosphere, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the games were great.

A Good selection off drinks on draught and a lot larger then what the front portrays with a upstairs bar open at peak times. The staff are cheerful, polite and very helpful and knowledgeable on the drinks this helps give the venue a good atmosphere to drink in. If you are out with a few friends and want to play a few games off pool, some air hockey or darts perfect for a bit off banter. Table tennis best played when sober or you will be running after every serve to get the ball. Food is great quality cooked fast and decent portion sizes for the prices, I would recommend the wraps myself. Also if you drink Guinness it is great here, important info for those who like to drink Guinness

Nice little sports bar just by the waterfront. Does exactly what it says on the tin - beers, cocktails, shots, quick food and a few tabletop games. Sport always on the TVs.

Should have added a review earlier, awesome night out with loads of games and fun a great fit for our event we tried to drink the bar dry but didn’t succeed, we will be back! Staff were a great laugh think they had fun too! A good place for good memories.

What a find. Lovely staff, lots of different drinks to choose from. There was food available, but we didn't try it this time. It's a great reason to re visit And lots of activities as well. Pool tables, table tennis 🏓, darts, and even board games upstairs.

So expensive, £4 for a desperado! Half the machines are broken in there too

Great venue, lots to do. Pool, shuffle board, darts, table tennis and games. Enjoyed the food especially the pizza! Staff are really nice and helpful. Good atmosphere overall.

Started off well, with a good space reserved upstairs, staffed seemed friendly. However once we ordered food and a couple of orders were wrong or just didn’t arrive, rather than to be given the food we paid for, we were told the food came out and that’s that. Never experienced that level of rudeness in a restaurant before, we were a big party and ordered lots of food and drink, so to be insulted like that was shocking and unprofessional. The bartender with the beard was very friendly along with the person who served myself- I think Nikki. And the person refusing the bring out the missing food (I think) was called Millie- bad attitude and not the way to handle that type of situation. Won’t be returning here, big let down for the town.

If you're going to bill yourselves as a sports bar, at least get your sound working.

I had my 21st birthday at Wiff Waff last night and I honestly had the best time! The staff were lovely, epically Gemma and Gemma who were serving my party! It was an amazing atmosphere and they really made my night special! Thank you to everyone at Wiff Waff!

Played table tennis with my son. The value for the table was excellent, drink price was good and the people that served us were really nice. Will definitely come back again.

Very very overpriced. New manager is very rude and arrogant. Upstairs gents toilet was out of order for quite a few weeks and when it is open never has soap in the toilets. The whole place is run down and uncared for.

Actually quite enjoyed it here. Randomly decided to pop here for a drink and the atmosphere was buzzed and the lady at the bar was lovely. Not bad prices.

Great for big sporting events with big groups of people, loud, plenty of room, games to play, big sod off Screen 👍 Don't take your partner for a meal, unless she gets Coyote Ugly and goes buckwild on the table.....in which case, crack on!

Went a few months ago to play poker with friends and the team there were great. Gave us a private area, drinks etc. had a great time! The pink/red hair one with the fake YSL bag was exceptional! Will be back!

A great fun venue with good food, fast service and plenty of fun and games. I booked for a large group of people. I booked over messenger which was great for me. I preordered food forvthe group and it was pretty much all ready at the same time. When it came to paying they had printed off the list I had sent them so that there was no confusion with payments. This was a really fast process and they were really on the ball with it. The only down side was that we were sat right behind a beer pong table and the balls kept flying at our table. Other than that I was extremely happy with the service.

Really lovely service from the staff here today. They sorted out the match we wanted on the tv and helped us get some coins for air hockey and pool. Food was good, vegan and gluten-free options available 👍

I won't ever forget tonight based on the awful interaction with the events manager, Jasmine. I had booked a table for a quiz, yet when we arrived staff could not find my table. I showed proof of booking the the first staff member she went to find assistance. Second staff member gave us a table as there was 2 booked under the same name with an amount of people that could fit in one booth. Whilst we were sitting getting ready to order food, Jasmine stormed over "You need to move". The rudeness that came out of her mouth was insane. She barked at us like a teacher on a power trip. Myself and my friend explained that we had booked a table, yet that didn't matter to her because these tables were booked for people who NEEDED them. (How did she know we didn't need them). One for a hearing impairment and another for accessibility needs, "a larger woman". Despite my friend attempting to explain her accessibility needs, needing soft support for back and also a hearing impairment she was adamant that we NEEDED to move. The tone and intimidating stance she had sent my friend into a panic attack and I never received a reason or apology for not having my booked table. Jasmine also demanded to see my proof and could only say "well I don't know who that was." Jasmine was interacting with all those people in the booths as though she was friends with them so it had come across as favouring groups of people over other customers. I'm really saddened by this interaction as this set the tone for the evening and overshadowed the other polite and professional staff members that we interacted with. Also, reading previous reviews it seems that this particular staff member struggles with interacting appropriately with customers so I really sincerely hope the owner has another word, and maybe provides extra training on customer service and hidden disabilities. Many people have hidden disabilities and it is not nice at all having them brushed off in public whilst being berated. *on reflection the table we were demanded we moved from was occupied by someone who works there, which may be why it was favoured for them and NEEDED. Forget the everyday customer.

The pride weekend was amazing. I spent the whole weekend at Wiff Waff from the corporate event, to the Lady Gaga tribute, to the AMAZING Drag show. All organised by Jasmine. She was an amazing host, tested at times by two drunk guys🙄 (eventually removed), even made sure everyone was enjoying the Drag show and interacted with the customers to ensure each person were seen to. I will definitely be telling everyone I know to come to Wiff waff. If I could give more stars I would!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great venue, friendly and helpful staff. As a company we attended a corporate event this weekend and had a wonderful time, it was great from the start to finish, we were attended to by Courtney and the host Jasmine who had plenty of banter with the teams, and tried to keep things In order which was difficult at times with so many different games going being played and high noise levels, unfortunately also two very drunk guys who were a little out of control (ejected eventually). Great Job and looking forward to the next one.

Jasmine hosted an amazing event, can not remember the last time I had this much fun in Ipswich. I very eagerly await the next event she organises. Wish I could give more than 5 stars

I have attend an amazing event last night where customers could compete in a couple drinking events. One thing that has let this event down massively was a bar staff with pink hair. I think her name is jasmine. She has allowed anger to get the best of her and started to shout at some customers, the way she acted was highly unprofessional. She also treated customers like kids and honesty I felt like I was back at school getting told off by that teacher that no one likes. Her mum was also in the crowd and she began to shout at her too which shows how unprofessional she can be. If she treats her own mum and customers like that I can't imagine how the rest of the staff feel around her. I am definitely telling my mates about this horrible experience.

Walked the Marina looking for a friendly fun environment as I was with the wife and 1yr old kid,.. went into 2 places before coming here and their staff, mainly Aaron, made us feel great about being here and deserves all the praise. Food was good too and their Strawberry Daquiri was what I needed on this hot day. 👍

The facilities are very good however I must admit I have encountered one of the worst customer services experiences I have ever come across . Me and my friends were just having a couple drinks when one of the bar staff with pink hair became a total jobsworth. We were sitting next to a reserved table and as no one came for a while, my friend decided to sit on one of the seats. When she came over to ask us to move off the seat, she proceeded to go into a rant which was totally unnecessary and I felt she thought she was running the ritz. I asked calmly when the reserved seats would be attending, but, instead of entertaining normal discourse, she asked for security which I thought was absurd . Luckily the security sided with us as we weren’t abrasive in any manner, just simply asking a question. It’s a shame as we were willing to part with more money but I didn’t feel as if her service was warranted.

Not sure how for a double Jameson with mixer I paid £8.30 and just for double Jameson I paid £14. Something is just wrong I guess. Not the type of person that complains, as I work in hospitality, so I’ve paid but not going back I’m afraid…

Not for me. We popped in to watch the football on Sunday purely because they've got a big screen. But there was nowhere to sit to watch the big screen! You'd expect them to maximise downstairs seating at an event which would be their speciality, but they didn't seem particularly interested. The beer selection was mainly lager - i had a pint of Atlantic Pale Ale which tasted like bad lager! We left at half time because it wasn't a very enjoyable experience. I'm giving 3 stars just because i think it's unfair of me to judge something harshly when I'm clearly not the demographic that they're targeting. If you fancy a game of darts, pool or table tennis, it's probably a good place to go and the big screen is particularly impressive.

If you are out in Ipswich and haven’t been to wiff waff are missing out. Bouncers/ comedians make the night xx

Was there for Super bowl, beer was good and reasonably priced and the food looked good (although I didn't have any). Big screen to watch the game on was well placed. Will definitely be back for more events!

Staff are inept and couldn't run a bath... We booked here for our team Xmas drinks as we thought it would be fun. When making the booking my colleague specifically asked did we need to book anything and was told 'no you don't, you can use anything that's available' yet we were still charged a deposit to reserve nothing! Turns out this wasn't the case as we were asked to vacate the area we were in as it needed for another group! 3 of 4 pool tables weren't usable due to being in areas reserved for other groups, air hockey was also in a reserved area for another party, so there were few options available to us which was the whole point of going in the first place! Terribly misleading, badly organised, sticky tables - won't be back!

Unsurprisingly table tennis table around the place (pool tables and karaoke too). Good food (we had buffet) and different areas for parties. Not totally my thing but would probably rate 5 stars for for party people.

Lovely bar with a fantastic pub quiz. Sports fans seemed happy as well. Open bar area, with more cozy cubicles around the corner. Nice toilets. Friendly helpful staff. Food was good, and menu clearly marked with some gf and veggi options.

Went for a few games of pool with my husband. Table was wonky so all balls ended up on the left. Pool cues also terrible. Food tasted ok but I was sick later so it was probably that since I only had two cocktails but overall we had a good time.

Great place to go if you want a games night out. Advisable to book a table (a games table also) if you are going on a fri/sat night. Also ordered food whilst here service could of been better bit the food was nice and not overpriced.

Absolutely top staff, great service....always have the important games on a gigantic screen and good capacity, all new pool tables, table tennis, lots of outside seating and a gorgeous location right on ipswich marina. One of the most popular spots to hang out in Ipswich

Ordered 7 cocktails 40 minutes ago and still haven’t received all of them. I would avoid this place.

Very poor service when arrived staff were rude waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order when down stairs to ask they said rudely we will be up now 10 minutes after that still waiting so we left and took our money somewhere else

Friendly staff great atmosphere

Lockdown restrictions mean they are limited with what they can serve. But had a lovely hot and spicy burger. Appreciate the effort that goes into trying to keep everyone safe in these difficult times.

Food was shocking. Pizza was burnt. Pizza filling was more like a paste.

Good food and a lively atmosphere during the right hours. Not only does it have multiple ping pong tables it also has air hockey. Only disappointment is the menu is quite limited and changed the second or third visit
