Whistles is such a lovely, friendly place, and the service is consistently fabulous. Great place to catch up with friends. Cakes are exceptionally good !

Bought a hot chocolate and a slice of the choc chip loaf.Both were amazing.Lovely friendly staff everytime I go in.

This was one of the breakfast options recommended by the Griffin Inn. We went twice during our stay and both times the service and food were fantastic. My husband had the English breakfast while I had the smashed avocado on toast which I would highly recommend. Definitely worth stopping in.

Great little cafe for lunch. Plenty of different choices on the menu at reasonable prices.

We visited for breakfast at the advertised opening time of 9am and sat outside for 8 minutes before the shutters were raised. I’m of the opinion that if you advertise your opening time then you open at that time.

Three times I've been here and all three times I've been turned away for different reasons. Seems to be situated in a great spot for footfall and because of this have a complete distain for customer service. If they had any care for customers, they would have served me.

Excellent quality food and coffee. Very pleasant and welcoming staff.

Very warm welcome for families. We came with our toddler and it was perfect. There was a kids menu, highchairs, good changing facilities, plastic plates and cutlery and a little bookshelf with kids books for entertainment while you wait. They even made sure that the babyccino and beans weren't too hot. Very quick service despite them being quite full and we had a great breakfast each. The real cherry on top was being offered a glass of water when I was breastfeeding my toddler - if you've breastfed you'll know how thirsty it makes you! If you've breastfed, especially into toddlerhood, you'll also know that you can feel a bit anxious not knowing if you'll get any negative comments so that show of support was so appreciated. It's a shame we live so far away otherwise we'd be coming back regularly.

Food was lovely,I just think £2.50 for a can of coke is quite expensive.

Had an absolutely delicious breakfast at Whistles today. The staff were amazing and the owners couldn’t have done any more for us! I would highly recommend and I will definitely be going again! Best Tea Room in the North West!!

Had fabulous food at Whistles today apart from an extremely rude lady who's behaviour and language was ignorant, unacceptable, unnecessary and upsetting most people and making the staff cry. The staff dealt with this amazingly but the woman's attitude was atrocious and disrespectful. Thank you for ruining a lovely experience.

Prices have gone up, but haven't they everywhere! The quality of the service and food is excellent and to a degree commands the slight premium. Large breakfast just under a tenner. Sausages were nice, bacon was nice, hash brown was nice, beans were nice, toast was nice. Mocha £3.30 was nice. Service was also nice. Over all a nice relaxed experienced.

Just had the best breakfast omelette ever. Two pot's of tea and toast. Heaven. And some complementary fudge. Devine. Will definitely be going back for more.

First time visiting here, they were getting ready for closing but made us very welcome and we had the most delicious tray bake, very clean and friendly staff, well worth trying.

Yummy! Tea a little weak for my taste but coffee good alternative. Stronger teabags please 🙏 you have fruit teas, so why not stronger builder's tea, eg Yorkshire or similar please?

Me and my wife had a great lunch here after our daughter's assembly at the nearby school. Service was friendly and fast. Food was great... really nice sandwich. Coffee great too. And nice relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back here

Absolutely horrified after supporting this local business for years and coming in twice a week we were rudly told to leave after spending almost £40 on breakfast. We hadn't finished our 3rd round of drinks and was going to order lunch and cakes but will never step foot back in this place again. No explanation. Why the rush to get us out when we were spending money and supporting you? Bizarre. Have already cancelled the weekends breakfast and was going to have afternoon tea here with my friends but will book boc boc instead. Avoid.

Went there Sunday and had a healthy cooked breakfast which was very tasty and presentation on the plate was very good. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Will be going back!

They are supposed to dog friendly but we were refused a table as we had our dog

Called in after a walk. Found the staff very off putting not at all friendly. They say support local well it works both ways make us feel welcome.

Very pleasant cafe with friendly staff and implementing all Covid requirements.

Stopped by for a drink and maybe something to eat after a short walk. Was greeted with a woman who didn't even approach the door, just curled her finger at the two of us like we were dogs. After ordering us to sit at a table, threw a contact slip onto the table and walked off again, no conversation. Took our orders of two diet cokes. with a very "I'm impatient just make your order" tone of voice and face. Then 10 minutes later promptly threw/slammed the glasses down and walked off again. If you want to eat or drink at this place, remember to bring a mask and something to protect you from the sense of superiority by the staff.

Have been going every couple of weeks with 2 friends for the last few years. Find the staff so very friendly and don't rush us at all. The food is always exactly what we ask for. Highly recommended.

Generally quite busy and so you can end up waiting longer than average, but the food (particularly the homemade cakes) is worth the wait. Brilliant for young families and breastfeeding mums. Would highly recommended.

I really enjoyed my visit, it's the first time I have been but it won't be the last. The tea room was really bright and roomy and clean it even has a play area for young ones. We only had coffee and a scone and it was delicious served by pleasant ladies.

When we went it was quiet but it was end of day, its got pleasant surroundings and felt relaxed.. small play area for kids which was brilliant and lovely cakes on offer very surprised and will go again and sample the food

No taste really to my steak and cheese pannini had to ask for chutney to spice it up think it needs a more mature cheese for some flavour

Never been before went with friends had a lovely cappuccino partner had breakfast was Luke warm but warmed it up in micro bacon wasn't that good but over all he was satisfied staff were friendly definately go again

Whistles is spotlessley clean and even on a busy day the staff get everything right and it is a very baby and children friendly tea room I can highly recommend whistles.however fone and reserve before going if you can
