We went for a meal after picking 2children up from school 3-30 the place was a mess no menus on tables so asked if they were serving food the women behind the bar said she had taken the menus away when told by barman, she said I’ll see if I can find one came out with one menu and gave us a dirty look, I gave her it back told her we did not like her attitude and walked out her behaving like this is going to ruin a good pub.

We went to whistle stop on Saturday the 19th may . There was a meatloaf tribute act on the bar staff were very friendly and polite . However later in the night my 18 year old son came to meet us after he finished work so got there about 10.50 . The landlady perched on her stool outside and refused his entry . I went out to speak to her and she was very rude and obnoxious said “ my rules my pub” and he not coming in she then continued to ignore me when I asked why . Very rude . But she takes my sons money when he goes in through the week to play pool . But only on her terms it’s no wonder all our local pubs are closing down if that’s . How there been run . By rude individuals who think they rule the world .

My family and a few friends all went into the whistle stop pub with 3 children (aged:3,7 and 12). Walked up to the bar at around 7:30 pm and was instantly refused any order before asking. I would have understood if she would have told us the children weren’t allowed in but she looked us up and down and said “you’re not allowed to order with children on the premises”. She said this in an extremely rude manner. Now I’m not usually one for putting in complaints but the way she treated us customers at her own pub was absolutely disgusting! I genuinely don’t understand how one could be so mind numbingly rude to people who are literally putting money in her pocket.

On a recent trip to Leeds, needed something much better than junk fast food to eat , looked up nearest sizzling pub,it was less than 4 miles away from us , went , found it , went in , quite busy, thanks to a local couple who were finishing their drinks , who gave us their table , ordered our food , great service from a sizzling pub, good quality food at a reasonable price, didn't have to wait long , staff were great even though we came from over the other side of the hill

2nd visit this time with my 'meet up Monday friends', hardly anyone in but still a warm comfortable atmosphere. Food again was brilliant, I had chicken coujons in a very light batter, 2 had the light bite hunter chicken, 1 had Cajun chicken and the other meat pie, lovely homemade chunky chips, desserts were fabulous, total cost for 5 of us with larger, wine glass, soft drinks and tea £60 superb value and good service, this pub is now on the revisit list and would highly recommend it

Great pub we tend to go in Saturday evenings. There's usually a band on and a good choice of beers reasonably priced. Great clientele with a wide age range. Not eaten here for a long time so I'm not in a position to rate their food.

Went after work for a quick pint, ended up having dinner! They have contact less and apple pay to pay as well. Some really good food and good ale. I had pulled pork and that was great, really recommended, proper British pub with nice wood table and couches to rest.

We’ve just been to the art gallery café for lunch we won’t be going back. They sell scones but they’ve run out of jam What kind of business can’t even organise going to the shop and getting a pot of jam. Leeds city council should be ashamed of themselves.

I took a walk to the bakery to see if they supplied fresh bread. I checked the opening hours and when I arrived it was closed. Wasted journey. Looks a nice place from the outside though.

A large, airy and light-filled pub (for a change) with plenty of outside seating near the City Museum- a short hop from culture to chaos! The young workers were efficient, very hard-working and helpful. What is distinctive about this place (and its saving-grace) is that it has a sufficient number of students to keep the place on an ‘even keel’ (for example, talk of Trump’s superior IQ is, mercifully, rare). TOP TIPS: (1) choose outside or gallery seating for a relatively blissful experience ; (2) in general, choose a Spoons having a reasonably high proportion of students (albeit with a modicum of immaturity and ‘lively’ behaviour). In this way, relative sanity and intellect may well prevail.
