Love the atmosphere within the pub always welcoming

I was passing through Shrewsbury, and havent been to the town itself before when I came across The Wheatsheaf so stopped for a drink. Staff and customers could see I wasnt a local or from the area, meaning that when I stood at the end of the bar to be served, the staff served two other customers who walked straight in front of me. Very clicky vibe based on regular trade only, putting limitations on what could be a great town centre boozer.

Cheap beer but was cold in there group of lads at bar arguing but bouncer came and cooled it off

Lovely Location in the heart of Shrewsbury High Street has outdoor seating during the nice months offers live music food and more would highly recommend this place for solo or a family visit!

This is a great little pub with some cracking and very friendly customers. Milo, the spaniel cross howls energetically and has to be comforted by random customers, including me, everytime his owner visits the lavatory.

Last Sunday afternoon 29th Sept I was fortunate enough to visit your pub whilst on holiday and had a drink whilst listening to some great music by a chap who I only know be the name of Andy. Does anyone have Andy Hyde's contact number as I would like to get in touch with him regarding his excellent chose of music and guitar playing. When I'm in the area again I will be giving The Wheatsheaf another visit.

The wheatsheaf is a nice traditional pub. There was an excellent choice of beers, lagers, and cider, including four hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The ones we sampled were in excellent condition. The staff are friendly, it's a nice cosy pub. There are no bar games, but the pub is dog friendly.

Had the best afternoon/evening with barstaff and locals. We were down for a wedding and we came here the day before. Thank you Joe and team 😍

We love it as our pop-in local when we've been walking for the day. Friendly. Live music. Friendly barman.

Found this lovely pub after a great walk from our motorhome site. Kingstone press on tap👌🏻Saw they were doing Sunday roast, so ordered one of them too. Superb! One of the best Sunday dinners we’ve had in a long time😋Beautiful cut of beef & lots of fresh veggies. Staff really friendly & best of all, it’s dog friendly🐾Ours got loads of fuss! 5⭐️!

Nice small pub would be great in the summer to sit on the front beer garden part, the place is very clean and so are the toilets, has a very nice and different feel than other pubs, it feels a little classier than just an average boozer, very nice I like this place and the staff are friendly

Friendly pub, nice surroundings, good atmosphere.

Great food, lovely atmosphere, in a great location, in one of the best preserved Tudor towns in the country. Service was excellent, we did not have to wait to be served and the food came five minutes later! Have been back again since.

Nice atmosphere with some nice craft beer.

Proper Shrewsbury centre pub with an extensive reasonably priced menu. Good selection of ales and lagers as well as wines, spirits etc. Plenty of outdoor seating as well 😊

Really poor drink asked for G&T double put in a small glass & a few ice cubes which melted within seconds, the worst G & T ever perhaps barman or lad should get more training on how how to greet customer & make a proper G & T!

Lovely beer on a sweltering Sunday afternoon. Sat and watched the world go by.

Lovely pub inside and outside and my pint of Eagle ale was refreshing. Sam the lady behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming although pity they no longer do food after Covid was lifted. It would have been nice to have a sandwich or portion of chips with my pint.... However, sat outside "people watching" whilst enjoying my pint and even the sun managed to pop it's head out of the clouds to say hello and make it feel warmer... Good selection of drinks and very reasonable prices too. Worth a visit if you're not hungry and the location is perfect to enjoy a drink and "people watch"...

Lovely little spot for a quiet drink, with fantastic, friendly and warm bar service.

Love this place. Its got such a 'locals' vibe but in a really good way, people pop in on their own knowing there'll be someone there that they know, the bar staff are nice and there's always a decent ale on. High quality live music to be had here too.

Nice little pub, a bit too small for my liking but good enough for a short stop! Knocked down two stars because of the female bar person who couldn't be asked to supply my coffee with a spoon, sugar, saucer, or glass for my Bailey's but had an attitude when I was asking for these things that I should have had in the first place, I just expected better and hopefully this review can help improve a similar situation for someone else in the future

It's a good pub in a good location, decent ales. The staff are efficient and friendly. I like to sit outside but the experience is slightly spoiled by the constantstream of buses speeding past.

WE HAD A REALASTING CUP OF COFFEE AND PANCAKES IN SYRUP. WHILE WATCHING THE WORLD GO BY.

The make over this pub has had is lovely. Really nice atmosphere inside, decent beers on tap too and reasonably priced. Easily spend an evening in here with its relaxed atmosphere.

Well organised outside for social distancing. Staff were friendly and efficient. A good choice of reasonably priced drinks. We had different burgers and they were both excellent with generous portions. Will revisit when next in Shrewsbury.

A good pub with outside tables but unfortunately, despite being in the town centre, it's next to a quite busy road. There's table service though so you don't have to keep trailing in and out to re-order.

Good choice of beers and a well-organised social distancing policy. Table service and card payments, plenty of on-street seating.

Ok.....if your into lagers...but no real beer

Lovely traditional town centre pub. Small area for outside sitting, to the front of building, to watch the world go by and enjoy a drink. One way access, order drinks at the bar. Lovely staff, found us a table inside when it started raining.

Food was fantastic,, service was very good,, staff were cheerful and helpful, clean and well spaced seating didnt detract from the friendly atmosphere

This is a lovely pub with nice food, made in the pub next door. The bar staff were really good especially the bar manager namely Ash. We went a couple of times during our stay but unfortunately on our last visit the owner arrived and was extremely rude to his own Manager in front of customers. This was very unprofessional.

Loved it, good selection and good prices.

Alright for a quick half. Not bad for a marstons pub.
