What a Kebab in Barnsley

I have been using ChaChaz since 1986 and they have always produced the best doner kebabs. Tonight there were only a couple of customers in front of me, but they took a while to serve me because they were on with preparing delivery’s. I ordered a king size doner kebab for £10:50. I asked for lemon juice on the salad and plenty of chilli’s sauce on the meat. When I got home I was disappointed because the meat was in a polystyrene tray, rather than the usual “tin foil” tray. Next I noticed there was no chilli on the meat, so I looked into the bag to see if I had been given a tub of chilli, but the bag was empty. Having decided I wouldn’t be beat that easily I made the kebab without the chilli, but the meat tasted absolutely horrible. I even tried my own chilli sauce, but it could not hide the disgusting taste of the meat. Needless to say it all went back into the bag and then into the wheelie bin where it belongs. I will never order again from this establishment.

Ordered king size kebab after 5 min wait at counter...asked for salad and sauce...3 different people took over my order...got home,no salad or sauce...twice I stated my order upon deaf ears....shocking service,for mega inflated prices...shopped here since the 80's...but since the owner as took a back seat...the service has gone down the swanny,and so will your customers too

Me and my husband just ordered for first time and wow lovely food..I had a cheeseburger and my husband had mixed meat kebab with salad,chilli and garlic we also got some onion rings to share and all of the food was really nice..we will definitely be ordering again 🙂

This used to be the best kebab shop in Barnsley. It's a far cry from that now. I used to call weekly but suddenly their prices leapt up by 50%. Same quality but just more expensive. I haven't ordered there for a while but my daughter suggested it as 'a treat' for my 50th bday. £32 for 'special for 2' which was dry and small portions for the price. Used to be able to pick and choose which salad you wanted, now it's just a pre-packaged plastic bowl filled with some stuff you may or not prefer. The choice has been taken away. It was a massive disappointment. Apparently the shop only had one person ordering at 7pm friday evening and that speaks volumes. I called the shop to offer some feed back and constructive criticism but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. The prices have increased massively and the quality has fallen massively. I can see this once amazing takeout closing within 6 months. My advice is to spend your money elsewhere, better quality and value is offered in so many other outlets. Conclusion - avoid. Order at your own risk.

Genuinely it is okay and does some nice foods but in other times I have been there or ordered the food was not the same. Hit and miss there should be consistency and could do better.

The existence of a "heaven" has been hotly debated since the dawn of theist civilization by scholars, philosophers and religious figures alike. But believe me when I say, I truly have found proof of it's existence. The ticket for entry into this culinary paradise is only £10 and it's called the Donnerzone. Imagine a calzone pie as big as your head, stuffed with glorious Donner meat, fresh salad and cheese, topped with a generous ladle of marinara (and even more cheese). If that doesn't sound like edible utopia then you need to lower your standards and live a little. Love the retro decor btw, could definitely see a Scorsese movie shot in there.

Fabulous food, Special mixed kebab on the managements recommendation. Friendly staff and quick service. Definitely recommend a visit or three !!!

The staff was so arrogant when I went to collect my order. I only live down the road and they wouldn't deliver for like an hour after I ordered. I'm very disappointed with the service and food . Do not recommend

Paid £14 for a mixed kebab with salad and sauce the garlic sauce was like milk there was a tiny pitta bread the kebab meat was disgusting the salad was frozen will never ever go here again wouldn't feed the dog this rubbish

First time and last time!!! I order.£25.50 for one mixed kebab and large chips. When I ordered I rang back because I thought I'd misheard the price. But I thought I'll give it a go. Hope it was gonna be huge and taste nice...how wrong was I! Couple of burnt bits of chicken and last weeks dry Donner. Small box of chips. Honestly, this place is a joke! Avoid Avoid Avoid... FYI they changed the name of the place too. Shame you can't get a lower score than one star. I live not even a quarter of a mile away. Tried to say the extra delivery was for the two bits of chicken tiny they managed to burn. AVOID ...AVOID

Ordered over £40. Donner meat tasted off, like it was 5 days old. Only thing edible was the chips. Pizza wasn't anything special either. Wouldn't recommend

My god the prices at this place has gone up loads £5 delivery and from a small kebab £8.50p there are off there heads lol and they nothing special the kebab you are a lot better off going somewhere else.

I asked for x12 pieces of chicken and x1 chips and x1 burger. The order came to over £40. The food wasn’t edible. The taste was disgusting. The food was greasy. They sent x6 meals with 2 pieces of chicken with chips. NOT what I asked for. The burger I asked for was a chilli burger. There was none. Considering it’s a takeaway, the price paid for the quality of food is disgusting. I urge anyone NOT to order from these. I questioned the price, and was told it’d had increased since the change of name of company. The prices do not represent the quality of food. Stay away from them

Expensive and not as good as normal

Today I ordered a kebab from them and it was like from yesterday. I have never seen such a kebab that is not tasty and disgusting. A very nasty place. Then I went and gave them the kebab back. Will never order again, let eat them self!!!

Gone really down hill ordered at 21.30 for delivery, told 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes for delivery, at 2300 called to be told it was just been prepared.....waited untill midnight, It never arrived! Why take the order if you dont want to the custom

Ordered and told 1 to 1. 15 fpr delivery jist called 2 hours later at 2340 amd cpuldnt care less "its on oys way"

Lamb shesh kebab and chips half hour wait even after telling me 20 mins to collect the lamb is as tough as old boots and bland as hell no taste what so ever my last £10 there

Ordered cheeseburger with Donner meat. I got a Donner burger instead. I then ordered another cheeseburger no salad no sauce and paid another £6:90 on top of the £20.50 I had already paid and this burger came with loads of tomato and mayo... A total waste of money and a total waste of my time. Oh and the lady on the phone was no use to anyone. Kind regards

Been going for year's. Paid fiver for delivery.... the price is a joke but still paid it. Delivery was 45 minutes late. Kebab was dry. 1 piece of tomato and cucumber. Only asked for tomato cucumber and onions. You would think they were expensive. This has gone downhill. Won't be going again.

Wish I could post a photo of what I recieved it was that terrible!! Ordered online at 20.20, ETA was 21.30. Called at 21.35 to be told they are very busy and we should have our food by 22.00 and they would send us a free bottle of pop, fair enough. 22.15 comes and still no food, see a car drive past my house partially pull up then drive away again to then return nearly 10 minutes later, recieved our food finally. To be very very dissapointed, wouldn't of minded waiting all that time if it was worth it. I ordered an American Burger to find no cheese, a tiny little squirt of mayo, literally two slithers of lettuce and a tiny cut off of a tomato. Chips were cold. I must say this is the worst takeaway I have ever received, save your money and time people order elsewhere. I wouldn't even give this to my dog.

Best kebab in Barnsley. Fantastic service. Especially the ability to order one offs like a tray of well done onions or just one skewer of chicken.

We have been eating from Chachaz for as long as I can remember and it's never fails. But tonight I was left very disappointed. For the first time we chose to have our food delivered. Normally my hubby calls ahead from work and collects. I ordered at 21.20 p.m and was told it would be about an hour, no problem as its worth waiting for. At 10.50 my son asked where it was. When I phoned, after 2 "hold the line please". I was told our order had been delivered and paid for. Well not at my house!. The person on the phone didn't offer any other suggestions as to where our food was,or offer a chance to maybe reorder, this was a £30 order. As a family we will still use Chachaz's, just not the delivery serive.

I have been going to Cha Chas since it opened. Those days it was the best. The last three times I have ordered from there, it has been horrendous. The Fried Chicken looked and tasted like it had been fried about eight times. The donner kebab, which used to be the best in Tarn was dreadful. All the little scrappy,left over bits from the bottom of the tub. Awful. That was your last chance i"m afraid. Won't be going there again.

Just had kebab special and chicken and chips and they were gorgeous. Best we've had in years. Kids loved it we loved it. Had to wait a little longer than we were told but the quality made up for that. X

Iv been going to cha chaz since it opened in 1982 with my dad iv taken my own children and the food has never changed still as lovely now as it was when it first opened

Shocking, back in the day it was awsome but now if I try to give it to the dog he thinks its a punishment & sulks in the corner. If I could give a negative star I would.

Kept waiting longer than expected when I went to pick order up.When we opened our onion bhajis they were like scraps that you would get from fish& chips shop. Otherwise everything else was fine.

Mix kebab for 9£ Looks more like donner kebab. Cheeky,saving£ on meat. Next time go other place. Small portion, 3 small pieces of lamb,1 sausage,rest donner meat. LOL

Well cha cha's 11 quid for a special for 1. Absolutely worst kebab ever all the time I've been going. Since when have they been pre made. Kebab meat dry Chicken tasteless Donkey knob as dry as dobin Chilli I could have used for eyewash. even put the foil tray back on the girl to reheat NEVER AGAIN

Normally love love love this place, had it a lot since I’ve been pregnant, was really caving it today so sat waiting for it to open since 2pm, I was very disappointed asked for the pizza to be as crispy as possible normally they do but today none of my order was cooked properly, I ordered a kebab, chips, pizza and garlic bread (again pregnant 🙈) what little I did eat came straight back up due to not being cooked properly even the dog won’t eat it. Still really hungry but won’t be eating again tonight 😞 just to add it cost me £20 for me not to eat.

Best Donna kabab ever, quality meat no dripping fat over your shirt. It's just like a lamb sandwich.

Food is good but shame about their un reliable delivery service.

The shop is clean, all the food is fresh and always arrives hot! I admit the delivery service wasn't so good in the past but it has improved a lot. Don't listen to the other reviews they just complain here because there isn't any other place to complain :)

I always called for kebab on way home, always was fantastic, I moved from area and got delivery s they did go down hill, but true fully ordered tonight and came piping hot just wat I asked for, so cha chaz keep it up, daz

Very disappointed ordered first time for a delivery. It turned up 20 mins early and 2 if the people who were eating hadn't arrived yet. Then some of the order was missing and then waited another 40 mins for it to arrive. Average quality food poor poor service

Definitely the worst, most expensive kebab I've ever had! Ordered a kebab for me and two of my friends in the shop yesterday, wow. Only cost £22.50!! (SARCASM) never again will I go here, you are the worst takeaway that I've ever been to. I could've fed a family of 10 for £22.50. Disgusted. The meat tasted like the smell of a farm and the portions were rubbish! Will never go back🤗

Ordered my food online called up to see where it was to be told they didn't have a driver and that my money would be given back into my account as of today 11 days later the money is still not in my account foods awesome don't get me wrong but really poor on other things

Phoned for food at 20.35... phoned twice in space of 2 hours when they said delivery would be l hour 20 mins on its way they said... got a phone call at 22.40 saying they can't find ya adresss been don't no how many times .. due to new driver but phone Friday never agsin 😢😢😔😔

Discusting... placed order at 7.44 pm online with confirmation by email... rang at 9pm to be told it was on its way... 9.45 rang again and obviously by this point tell them im not happy. Customers service does not exist! Arrived 2 hrs later!!!!

The above comments are generous. Ordered a meal tonight and they failed to send me a can of coke (only one ordered). I called them and they blamed the delivery driver. Because i ordered over the internet i asked for a refund but they refused point blank. They offered to refund it off my next order , but in reality would you!!! This in my eyes is total THEFT!!! THIEVING BASTARDS!!!!!

Make sure you place your order 3 hour before you plan to get hungry if your having delivery! Poor customer service! Told 1 hour for delivery still not here over 2 hour later! Nothing they can do about it they say! GET MORE DRIVERS OR STOP DELIVERY AND GO BACK COLLECTION ONLY !

Disappointed. Mid week, ordered online at 8.20. Phoned at 9.20 to be told the order had just been finished and was on it's way. Arrived at 9.30. Food was warm, but not hot so had been on the van for a lot longer than 10 minutes. Food was good , but they had ignored cooking instruction not to put chilli sauce on one of the two kebabs ordered. Hate to think how long the wait would be for something that required any more preparation
