Wetherspoons in Gateshead

Meal this afternoon for 2 of us, vegetarian burger was uneatable served with 10 chips, ham and cheese panini was worse and served without any chips or salad. Absolutely the worst meal ever. Never buy food in any Wetherspoons again, waste of money, disgusting

Whole experience was awful. Started with sticky table and finished with dreadful curry which resulted in spending 12 hrs on loo.

visited Wetherspoon in metro centre on Monday 14th October with friends. There were 25 of u,we ordered food and drinks,spent a lot of money between us. Th pipes quite we were seated upstairs with there being a lot of us.whilst having our and drinks the tables were not cleaned of empty glasses or plates or bottles during our visit.we found the staff to be very rude and racist towards us.we were told to keep the noise down although wearer only talking amongst ourselves in our own language,I find that had we been English customers they would not have been spoken to us as this manner. I would not go again Mitra

Racist staff. Visited the pub in a big group on a Monday night - there were hardly anyone in the place meanwhile they kept telling everyone off for being “loud”. Not a single glass was collected from the table it was blatant racism and an attempt to single out the table against the rest. Will never step foot in any Wetherspoon establishment again absolutely disgraceful behaviour from all stuff I am appalled by the treatment everyone received. Shame on you spoons.

Metrocentre cheesy chips arrived cold , pizza was very nice !.

Seriously need to heat up their food this is the second and last time I'll be here. Pointless mentioning it to staff as waste of time

This Wetherspoons is in a bit of a run down area of Seaham on a pedestrianised high street, but can't fault the food - probably one of the best Wetherspoons meals we have had & the staff were lovely. We moved tables due to an icy blast from the air con & informed one of the lady staff as we had already ordered, who apologised profusely & said she would turn the air con off. They couldn't do enough for us, returning to the table to ask if we needed anything else & if our meals were o.k.

First time in this area, and their are a friendly and service area very well.

Didn't eat on this occasion, it was a very busy pub, waited a while for a cup as we ordered from the app, staff friendly but very busy.

Visited here last week, worst food I've ever had here. The small fish was smaller than a fish finger, and that hard snd chewy I couldn't cut through it so left it. The chips were dry and the peas cold. Rubbish meal for such inflated prices. Short staffed which resulted in dirty tables and and uncollected glasses and plates. Might pop in for a drink in the future but won't be wasting money on food.

It's OK, nothing special bar staff who served me was a bit aggressive in her manner didn't really want to give me her time when ordering food at bar then food arrived not the best it was warm. Will not go back

Very disappointed with the pricing and menu at Wetherspoons. The cost of neatly £15 for fish and chips and a pint does not seem to follow the ethos of value for money, yes they sell a pint of bitter for £1.99 but you are more than a pub, you also sell food and not the highest quality so bring your prices down to reflect the quality. Also really disappointed with no steaks on the menu and curry selection was poor. I seem to be visiting Wetherspoon establishments less and less. Maybe get back to providing great value food and drink

Very slow getting served with only one server

Well this has to be the worst bar meal I've had. I've not been here for ages the menu wasn't great so we ordered American burger with chips . Awful food . The tinest portion of dry oven chips accompanied by a dry burger . I didn't eat it I thought it was vile. I actually don't know how they dare to present that dreadful food if you can call it food to anyone . That's off my list .

The staff are patient and helpful. I often bring people with special needs because the staff actively assist us to have a pleasant visit.

As far a spoons, standard. Random guy at the bar talked to me about alcohol. Random drunk but you know what, made my day at the metro. I recommend a classic Bells and coke, for only 1.80. enjoy!

Visited here multiple times with no problems. Staff always lovely and accommodating. However, came in at 9:50pm for drinks and food today, only to be told by what I assume to be a new staff member that food was not available. Bought some crisps instead but while buying them was told we’d be checked for ID. I’ll hold my hands up and say I forgot my ID so I knew I wouldn’t be able to have a drink. That’s usually been fine. However, I was then told I had to leave as they could not have people under 18 in the place. Mind you, I have tattoos all over my arms and I work in the Metrocentre. I have frequented here multiple times and I have never been asked to leave. My friend then requested if she could have a refund, to which the staff members said no because she had her ID. This did not make much sense because she clearly was not going to stay and have said drinks. I understand the need to make sure underage people are not buying alcoholic drinks, and to protect the premises. However, it felt clear to me this staff member simply wanted us to leave so she could get out sooner. I could understand if I was a rowdy youngster, but I am 25 years old and just wanted a drink after a long day at work. We left promptly without argument, but just felt the attitude stank. No apologies or anything, just a handy way to take our money and send us on our way for an easier close.

Down the drain. Wetherspoons used to be mediocre food at great value. It’s now below average food at terrible value. I’ll never order food at this place again. Spoons has lost its way. (Photo was taken and only two bites of the burger had been eaten)

Simply avoid the health risk, dirty tables, cutlery not cleaned correctly, micro waved food (not all food) not worth the pennys, the usuals aren't friendly, staff seem in a Constant rush, overall!? Simply walk by find another spot

Awful food that we paid way too much for. Table was only cleaned when I asked staff to sort it out. Propaganda leaflets available at the door. I haven't been to a wetherspoons for a long time because of their attitude towards staff during the pandemic and their pro brexit stance. This visit made me doubt I'll ever be back again

Nice weather's pools, good friendly service, nice size portions of food

Always busy and popular. Cheap and cheerful… Just popped in for a few drinks. Unfortunately whilst sitting in a booth, I put my hand on the seat and cut my hand with a shard of glass, embedded into the fabric. I informed a staff member, who got the manager. I explained what happened and told him it was fine, but just incase it happens to someone else. He told me the seats only get hoovered once a month. Please can you make sure this is done at least once a week, due to this is a family friendly pub and I would hate anyone else getting hurt. Overall it’s very reasonable priced and won’t stop us coming again.

Consistent with every other Weatherspoons. Ok food, ok drinks, ok venue. Clean, tidy, and not too busy. The turnaround time on the food was fairly quick, and the waiter was polite and professional. Amazingly, the toilets weren't upstairs (just to the right of the bar). For what you pay, you can't expect much more.

The food was terrible, the presentations were the worst I've ever been served . Good friendly staff.

I came here for food with one of my friends it was only onion rings and chips, and I also had a pint of cools, but it was very nice and fair portions

Changed my review unfortunately after todays let down, no mixed grill on menu any more shame, also feel it’s getting expensive in spoons now but could just be the metro center rates, I decided to have there curry - omg it was a Asda/coop meal for 2 you bang in the microwave and there charging over a tenner for it - OMG…. Kids pizza was a kind of nan with bit cheese on and some fruit and a drink for £6.95, and the wife had a American burger that was tasteless tbh the chips were the only nice thing, well after that I will not be returning rather gone to big Luke’s for a tenner more, the place was full but plenty of tables if look about but most clearing but staff do there best so can’t fault them….

An incredibly expensive wetherspoon with less variety than a high street one.

We had the burgers and a pint. Lovely pint bit burgers weren't good. For the price can't complain really. Good atmosphere and staff were fine. This is upstairs at the metro centre so there are lifts for prams and wheelchairs. Very busy

Wetherspoons is a HORRIBLE choice for food . I had a Steak Dinner and I the food was cold the steak was over cooked and dry , the chips were slightly cooked but a few were Frozen , a tasteless tomato wedge and an oily mushroom cap . I tried to get it replaced but I was told that the chef refused to replaced the meal and I walked out . They should employ a new chef or stop serving food . A total waste of my money .

Standard wetherspoons pub. No problems.

Nice food, what you'd expect from a spoons. Had the Shawarma wrap and it was really nice, my fiancée had a jacket potato and all allergy instructions were followed to the lettuce. We were on the balcony in the corner and at least 7 groups of people sat ath the table next to us but promptly moved. May have been the air con, might be worth a look.

My drink arrived quickly but the server was unfriendly, dropped the drink on the table said no fruit then walked off. Then the wrong food was brought over, I took it back and the right food was quickly brought over except it was missing an item so I had to go back again to the till to ask for what was missing. The toast was just warm bread, it wasn't even toasted. The saussages were rock solid, so overcooked it couldn't be bitten into. The tomatoes were watery. The other staff were friendly enough except for that one woman who brought over my drink.

Went once never again microwaved food causes my stepson a case of food poisoning, beer tasted like it was watered down dirty cutlery tablets were covered in dirty dishes etc the staff looked like they wanted to be somewhere else the people were loud, overall it was a Very bad experience

Just had a drink but staff and atmosphere fine. Mot fussy on toddlers crawling around on floors but that's their parents choice

Wetherspoons Metrocentre is conspicuous and cozy, the layout is excellent with different areas to sit including an upstairs. However it could now do with a complete 100% revamp, it has not really changed that much since it originally opened! Giving it a more modern lighter look & feel would be great, maybe something similar to their other establishment called “The Windmill” Food and drink are fine but continue to slowly get more expensive! Staff are usually pleasant enough.

Always pop in here for a refillable coffee when im at metro, coffee is cheap and lovely. Had lunch this time. Worst meal I've ever had in a wetherspoons. Place was heaving , staff ran off their feet. Noone to catch and speak to. Lots ofdirty tables. Deffo wouldn't eat again.

Burger and chips portion size is like a child's size anywhere else while a side of chips is more than two burger and chips orders... The burger is Also very small.

Fast delivery of food and was all lovely and hot, no complaints when I've been here in the past.

It's been a while since I was last here and got a large breakfast, sadly as previous experience the food was only lukewarm when it arrived so by the time I had nearly finished it was pretty much cold. This is a repeat of the previous visits, although I could hear staff going round asking if everything was okay no one came to my table. Why can't they get the food hot, the amount of meals they do they should be able to manage this. Very poor

I ordered a BBQ chicken and bacon panini with cheese first one to come out had no cheese on at all there for I sent it back was given another. Still struggled to find any cheese and barely had any BBQ sauce I found the food was disgraceful I would be ashamed to serve that to anyone.

I did not visit, I walked past. I would never visit these Brexit supporting hellholes.
