West lodge park hotel is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in a while. The Night receptionists were so helpful to me and my partner. We will definitely be back!

Lovely tea but service was terribly slow and somewhat disconnected, with staff promising something then vanishing and I their return forgetting what you'd asked for. We offered to get the tea pots ourselves as it would have been quicker. I think they overbooked events and didn't have enough staff with much experience. Although, asking for a jug of milk for the tea hardly required a lot of experience.

Location is nice but if you’re scared of flying spiders then this isn’t the place. Had a terrible dinner here on Sunday and there were at least 10 flying daddy long legs where we sat. Just made the experience uncomfortable for me. The food isn’t nice either, lacks flavour, tiny portions and my boyfriend got a stale potato. Just not good food at all. Lovely waitress’ though !

I have been invited for a job interview and work trial as a live in position chef in this hotel. I asked that if possible I would like to have a look the accommodation. The person who I had the interview with, Wayne Turner if i remember his name correctly, was not helpful and was rude, saying that we should end the job interview now. They have just waisted my time. Thank you

Checked in later in the day, the check in was quick but then had to change the room as there was hair in the bathtub and stains on the pillows… went to the reception to ask for a different room, was given keys to go check another room which again had hair in the bath tub. Got given yet another key to go check another room - no hair no stains on the bed but birthday mood already ruined… went to have a shower - dirty shower head and broken switches… the hotel seems ancient…. The breakfast was lovely though - enjoyed - the coffee not so much. Overall not a luxury experience unfortunately. The area is nice though.

Nice rooms and quiet location. I was disappointed that upon arrival after 5 hour drive and only 2 minutes after restaurant closed I was not able to get a meal. Only a sandwich.

I recently stayed at your hotel and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff, who were not only professional but also very welcoming. The check-in process was swift and hassle-free, which was a great start to my stay. The room was spacious, clean, and elegantly furnished. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into ensuring guests' comfort. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I appreciated the quality of the linens and pillows, which made for a perfect night's sleep. The housekeeping staff maintained the room impeccably each day. Dining at the hotel was a highlight. The breakfast buffet offered a vast array of delicious options, catering to various tastes and dietary needs. I particularly enjoyed the fresh pastries and the excellent coffee. The dinner at the hotel's restaurant was equally impressive, with a menu that showcased both local and international cuisine. The hotel's location was ideal, close to major attractions and convenient for sightseeing. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant. By the way there is a massive, amazing and unforgettable botanic garden. In conclusion, my experience at your hotel was nothing short of excellent. I will definitely recommend your hotel to friends and family and look forward to staying here again in the future. Thank you for providing such a memorable experience.

Staff very good, room very good. BREAKFAST -1: cooked buffet breakfast cold, no breakfast chef on service. Ordered 2 poached eggs when they arrived the bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. had been taken away because they were cold. My eggs were returned to the kitchen. The cooked breakfast arrived back on the buffet hot but my replacement poached eggs did not arrive they had to be reordered! By this time I had lost my appetite. So for £20.00 I got two slices of supermarket bread and a pot of coffee!!! Not good for a four star hotel 😔

The rules of afternoon tea seem to change every time we go here. Staff are pleasant, but are just making up things as they go along. First time in my life that I have had an afternoon tea where you pay a fixed price per person, but DONT get one of each cake/pastry per person. Seemed to be just our table where this rule applied (we were told to share 1 tower between 3, but only had enough cakes for 2 people) so I guess it's just based on whether the staff likes the look of you or not.

We enjoyed our week staying at the West Lodge Park Hotel. Loved the beautiful setting with expansive gardens. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had several meals in the restaurant, which was excellent and also enjoyed the full English language buffet breakfast. The hotel is located within 2km of the Cockfosters underground station which makes access to London quite convenient. Also close to the M25 motorway, which makes travel by car convenient.

I can't tell for the rooms. We were there of my boyfriend's mum's birthday. We got a private event room and we had our own waiter (Georgia was her name I think) and she was amazing! All the staff was very kind and smiley and they welcomed us. The food was surprisingly very good and the portions as well. Our company appreciated a lot that they could offer small cafetiere for those of us who drink a lot of coffee. So the coffee lovers enjoyed this very much. When we decided to have a last coffee in their cafe, we got some big cookies (one for every one of us) that were a bit dry but very tasty. The garden looks amazing and provides room for events and other activities. My company goes back to the place at least once every month, I heard. I will definitely go back! Recommended!

Fantastic stay from start to finish. My husband and I stayed last weekend for one night, wishing that it could have been two. We were greeted by the gorgeous James upon our arrival, he made us feel so welcome and took the time to explain that if we wanted to book a reservation for dinner we could. Our room was beautifully appointed and incredibly spacious. We were also lucky to have a wonderful view out of the front of the hotel. The toiletries in the bathroom were fabulous too - Oat & Rye. Within a few minutes of entering our room we received a courtesy call from James to see if we were happy with everything which we absolutely were. We ordered room service which was brilliant, came really quickly and the food was amazing. We had gone out for the evening and returned quite late, again we were warmly greeted by a staff member who was very obliging. We both slept really well which was a bonus as I am quite a light sleeper. Breakfast was a buffet, plenty of choice available. Again the staff were very helpful and accommodating when I requested a fruit tea after they had already delivered coffee. The fruit tea arrived in a very generous teapot, was loose leaf and of a high quality. After breakfast we took a short walk around the gardens which was lovely. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be returning. Big thank you to the lovely James and to all the other staff who we had the pleasure of meeting xxxx

I attended a work meeting here and was very disappointed as the scenery and house are beautiful and I had high hopes upon entering. The Lancaster Room we were situated in was over warm and uncomfortable for most of the day. The main chandelier constantly 'buzzed' and left a few people with headaches. The tea and coffee kept running out and we had to send someone out to find help to refill. When lunch came we were rushed by a very unprofessional and rude person who I am amazed has a place within the hospitality sector. He watched us all like a hawk and as soon as our last bite was taken he snatched the plate away. In all it left most of us wondering why a meeting was done there and would definitely not recommend this type of function.

Lovely hotel, feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. Nice peaceful location. Huge gardens. Some of the rooms could be bigger but it's an old house. Overall 9/10.

i went here last week and Alam asked me to write a review for him and i didn’t after i got my food i asked for extra sauce and because i didn’t write a review he said i would have to pay for the sauce i was very surprised. So the only reason why he has good reviews is because he tells people but reviews are supposed to come from the heart and be truthful

The restaurant was very pleasant for a Mauritian, especially given that UK chow mein is sub par so getting the mauritian noodle was as close to the best version of the food. The menu was also very flexible where you can customise your food beyond what is on the menu. Very impressive.
