Great staff, welcoming and enthusiastic

Great wee pub with a brilliant atmosphere

Not what it once was. Slowly being ruined by new owners who don’t seem to care.

Was in on Friday night place needs renovated or a deep clean .New management and person behind the bar is new and certainly knows how to run a bar .much more efficient and knowledgeable . Hopefully this will make a difference to this wee gem of a pub ,because in the last few months it has went downhill

Dated and sad wee bar. Drink selection limited. No food avalible anymore and kitchen appears to be a building site. New ownership has removed any soul, along with the fairy lights. Events unorganised and repetitive. Honestly wetherspoons around the corner provides the same with more hygienic atmosphere. Another historic business bought up by tourists and likely to be run into the ground.

Nice we pup downstairs and the girl on was quick with the food and drink.

Here on business and my second visit which, again, fell on Wed quiz night. Packed out and great atmosphere with friendly, welcoming staff. Has per other reviews, hidden gem

A bit tatty ,needs a bit of sprucing up ,Walls scrubbed or painted, a new sign ,not a big expense ,,full of old people an old fashioned Pub

Poor food service but beer is cheap

Popped in for a couple of pints on our way to the 'StreetRave' event and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Friendly place and enjoyed it.

Cracking "old school" real ale pub. Musician on Saturday night had the place rocking.

Came through to Ayr for a Christmas night out. Great wee place. Had an excellent live singer with his guitar on playing. Definitely be back

Cracking old basement boozer in Ayr. About three ales on and the usual selection available! They have Live music every Sunday and a pub quiz on a Wednesday. Friendly service behind the bar. It’s dog friendly too. Shows both the major sports channels. Open from 12pm daily!! I’d recommend this traditional boozer! 🍻 🍺 🐕 ⚽️ 🏉 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A very good place to visit on a trip around Ayr. Everyone friendly, staff and owner very helpful. Does have a complement of Real Ales available, which is much appreciated. Well done.

Popped in to watch the Ayr United game after 10 pin bowling. Ok, the sound wasn't on but that doesn't mean I'm not going to give a 4-star review just because I couldn't hear the game Will definitely be back anytime I want to watch an Ayr game

Stopped off at this bar on the way to Glasgow on Sunday 7th August 22 .Among our group of 40 we had musicians who played for an hour and a half. We were warmly welcome by the owner and enjoyed the excellent food .We will definitely call again on our next visit.

Friendly service and clean toilets. We were recommended to visit while staying in Ayr for a couple of days by locals. Will make sure we get back for another visit

My daughter is a local and we had a great afternoon after lunch and a walk/sprint in the rain. Nan made us most weclome.

Visiting family in Ayr, we were taken to this cosy traditional pub in the square, easily found by the Duke of Wellington statue and the wellington boots at the door. The service was friendly and the prices the best value seen for perhaps years! The food tasty and plentiful. Also dog friendly which is added bonus. Recommend if you have a trip to Ayr and looking for resting place. Thank you from Aberdeenshire 😁

My experience in this place was amazing staff and customers were so welcoming and friendly and the good is fantastic also fast and efficient service will definitely return next time I am in Ayr.

A little gem of a place. Food fantastic and so well priced. Staff very friendly. If you are visiting Ayr you would be mad not to drop in. Just look for the big wellie on Wellington Square. Awesome. Looking forward to returning.
