Genuinely the best meal we’ve ever had and the staff were fantastic. We visited with a couple of people not used to Caribbean food so we opted for the set meal for 4 and it was incredible. The staff were fantastic and we’re just disappointed we didn’t find this place sooner! We will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful night with friends at Gaynor and Stacey Wellingtons Bistro Two couples one couple that had never been before or had Caribbean food We choose the meal for four including a bottle of wine as we thought that they could try a little taste of the majority of the menu that way and Gaynor even changed one of the main courses as my husband didn't fancy it but then nothing is to much trouble for the staff or the owners At £75 it is superb value the other couple said they had never seen so much food and that there wasn't anything that they couldn't eat that was served to us The atmosphere was great with the whole place singing Happy Birthday to my husband when at the end of the night Gaynor appeared with a small cake with a candle for him rocking it to the table Caribbean style We had a wonderful night and I would recommend it to everyone

We visited Wellingtons to celebrate my sisters passing, Wellingtons was her favourite restaurant and she made us promise we would have dinner there as part of her funeral arrangement and plans. Gaynor, Stacey and the team were fabulous, from picking up my email request, to making contact, to opening up the restaurant especially for us and of course for the love you feel through their cooking. We had an amazing time, made new friends with the team and of course, the food was fabulous. We ate, we danced, we cried, we shared. Gaynor was the best ever. We’re now committed and loyal friends of Wellingtons. I’ve given you my very own 5 Michelin stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ All round amazing love ❤️ Thank you Denny (Neti’s sister)

We visited last weekend & what a treat, greeted by host on the way in who asked who had booked & was ever so polite. We sat down & Gaynor (the chef) came out to talk to us, to ask if we had any questions about the food. From the moment we arrived to the delicious rum punch cocktails (which should come with a giggle warning, so lovely but very strong, no wonder I was giggling ). Then came the food it was such a treat, just utterly yummy. We had the set meal so got to taste lots of things from salt fish to mutton. It’s our new little piece of heaven, so don’t delay book today. Sue x

An authentic menu including family recipes, we had been looking forward to our first visit for a while. The menu is small enough to guarantee quality but sufficiently varied to accommodate us preferences. We enjoyed salt fish and salmon starters and chicken stew and goat curry for main course with the obligatory rice and beans with a plantain side. All freshly prepared and delicious. The goat had been cooked perfectly so melted in the mouth. Nicely spiced without being overpowering at all. Friendly service and owners willing to share their stories and ensure all is well without being intrusive. Thanks team: next booking made with some gastronomy friends. We cannot wait :-)

My first visit here but will not be the last. A lovely friendly greeting on arrival by all of the staff including chef who asked us if there was anything on the menu that we wanted changing (which we didn't) and if we were familiar with the style of food on offer. Drinks and meal order taken promptly and served with a smile and then the food started arriving until the table was full. Such big portions and so tasty that I hated to leave anything and we ate more than we should have done. The mutton dish was our favourite and the house salad was a work of art. The jerk chicken was tasty but we only ate one portion of it between us and at the chef's suggestion it was boxed up to take home. The whole experience was positive and the staff work so hard to ensure that the customer experience is good.

Having had takeaway during lockdown, this was our first visit to the bistro. We had a lovely evening with 3 delicious courses, nice wine and very friendly service. We will certainly be back. Thank you.

Had a takeaway and it was fabulous. The food was delivered at the exact time ordered, and it was delicious. I couldn’t recommend highly enough. We have certainly missed you and are glad you are back open on weekend evenings.

I don't often write reviews but felt I needed to share what a fantastic evening my family has just had. We are a family of four and a mix of vegans and one none vegan .Having had excellent communication with the owners ahead of the evening we had arranged a lection of vegan dishes and they were wonderful. In particular the jerk tofu was incredible. Tofu can be tricky to pack flavour in to but this was crispy on the outside and had layer upon layer of flavour.it was served with a fresh vibrant mango salad, plantain and super tasty rice and peas done in coconut milk. Simply fantastic. The jerk chicken was two huge portions served with unctuous sauce and coleslaw. The starters , puddings and rum punch ( plus a non alcoholic punch) were all delicious and very generous portions. The whole evening was marvellous and the owners are so lovely and friendly it felt like spending an evening with new friends or family - but ones that are superb at cooking but still keen to ask if there was anything that could be improved - which there wasn't. We will be back again and I really hope this hidden gem flourishes .

Good food and service staff very attentive the chef came out and asked how we liked our food. Guinness punch brought back memories. Highly recommended

Had dinner there for the first time today and the food was really tasty. The portions were generous and definitely good value for money. The staff are a lovely bunch of people and very friendly and welcoming Will definitely be returning and recommending this restaurant

The food quality is exceptional, staff and owners are very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place for everyone who's looking for top quality food at reasonable prices. My personal favourite is jerk chicken- absolutely sublime meal!

I have a liking for caribbean food since I first ate some as a teen in M/c and so when a friend told me about Wellingtons, I had to try. This was 10 months ago and I've been ordering ever since. The food is cooked to perfection (it makes my stomach sing) melts in the mouth and the blend of spices is well balanced,just delicious. The customer service is faultless, Stacy and Gaynor'll go the extra mile and then some to ensure your meal is truly enjoyable. Wellingtons has recently delivered food for my birthday celebration and my family are now also Wellingtons fans and at last are understanding and in agreement of me singing they're praises. I'm looking forward to my big birthday party, when it's safe to hold it, where Wellingtons will be catering for guest and exceeding expectations as they have since I first began ordering. Thank you Gaynor,Stacy and staff. You're all stars.

I was OVERJOYED at the quality of the food and service we recieved from Wellingtons. We ordered a large meal from them for my mums birthday and they stayed open specially to cook and deliver it all - outstanding customer service. The food was delicious! I can see why my mum was excited for it all to arrive. The presentation of the salad was remarkable, other takeaways would toss half a dead lettuce and a quarter of onion into a pot and call it done - we got a literal platter with orange slices and pineapple chunks as garnish. The brown stew was cooked to perfection. The jerk chicken slid off the bone. Even the chips were good! Take away chips, good. I know, shock! Thank you SO MUCH to all the staff who stayed late to help cook and deliver this utter feast of a meal. We had some left over after 3 days eating it! Cannot recommend enough!

OMG just had the most unbelievable takeaway for Wellingtons in West Vale The delivery was bang on time The food was piping hot and so delicious and the portions size fantastic There was so much food that I've put some in the fridge for tomorrow (2nights of not cooking bliss) all I can say is Thank you Thank You Gaynor and Stacy for the professional and personal touch and love that you must put into your food to make it sooooo good x

Had the 'meal for two' and my only issue was that there was way too much food. 3 of us and we couldn't finish it which was a shame. The mutton curry was superb and I can't wait to visit properly when they can open...

We had a takeaway delivered tonight and we loved the presentation, wrapping and the complimentary chicken wings.We had the jerk chicken and mutton curry with rice ,plantain and coleslaw and really enjoyed our meal . We have enough left over for lunch tomorrow!recommend this takeaway...
