Watson's Cocktail Bar in Leicester

Came for a light snack and a drink. I had the lychee ice tea, it tasted amazing! I also had the soya pepper, which was a recommendation and it will not disappoint. The soya chunck had absorbed lots of season and were a lottle cripsy. The service was excellent, Sofia was very attentive and fast, she was very willing to help. The bar tender, sorry no name, but they were great too, came and checked everything was okay and really put in the effort! Also great atmosphere and music!

Visited last night and possibly had too high expectations - I would try this place again for drink with friends on a night out as they have an extensive drinks menu. The alcoholic teas sound really interesting, and they do most of the classic cocktails. The signature ones we tried on the night just weren't for us taste wise - despite help from our server, we probably just chose wrong. Bar tender was dressed as a pirate, which was fun - the bar has got a mish mash interior inside. Bartender checked if I was ok with real milk in my cocktail, which I wasn't expecting as it's a vegan bar, but I like that they asked - staff seemed very friendly, drinks were made well and service was fast - we did order some fries with our drinks but they must have forgot, we had to ask to for them again and when they came they were undercooked. Drinks are pretty though. Food menu - is extremely limited. It's mostly bar snacks really, like nuts and limited tapas thats mostly potato based cause its vegan (despite loving vegan food), I didn't find them appealing, and there is 1 burger. We ordered plain fries... which were a bit undercooked - it came served in a pretty pan There was a live DJ which was a bit much for the small room we did have to shout a little. It was relatively empty when we went, but had we stayed / with more people, the vibe I imagine would be good.

Been here multiple times and never had a bad experience. Bar staff are amazing as well as the servers. Always good vibes and the drinks are reasonably priced which is wild. BRING BACK MAI TAI AT THE MOVIES PLS shout-out Cameron, Sophia and the rasta man (never caught his name) Always so so nice and welcoming.

Visited here for first time a few weeks ago, what a wonderful place. It was my first visit to Leicester and this was the first place we called into. Staff were super friendly, decor is cool and interesting and the cocktails are delicious. I didn't have food here so can't comment on that but I would 100% recommend this bar. One of the highlights of my trip. Also the music was superb with a live DJ playing old school UK garage.

Dined at Herb next door, used the disabled toilet in watsons with my grandma very badly designed to get through the doors. The grab handles and state of toilet was dirty, needs a good scrub. Unfortunately she was desperate and we didn't have a choice.

Well worth getting dress up for, Amazing history and narrative behind the branding...the food presented so well and in true artistic fashion with an incredible opportunity to try the cocktail s. An amazing evening well worth every penny! Loved the chilli cocktail...

This is a great bar if you are looking for a chilled "grown up" drink in Leicester. It's a very nice setting and the cocktails are excellent. I've taken off one star because the non-alcoholic options are very limited - just iced tea or soft drinks. A bigger alcohol free cocktail list would make this a 5.

Astounded. As a vegan coming from only what I can describe as a county which is 20 years behind everyone else, I felt right at home in this bar and its sister restaurant (Herb) next door. The quality of both the food and the drinks were out of this world, in addition to the very affordable price! The staff were all very accommodating, cans so caring. We loved every little detail involved in making our experience whole. We felt right at home 🖤 thank you 🌱

This place is absolutely fabulous! The menu in the bar is a series of tapas dishes, all of which were delicious. The bartender was very friendly, and even recommended a place where we could get vegan breakfast the next morning. Very funky decor and a great atmosphere. We'll be back!

This is one of the best bars in Leicester. 2 for 1 pints on Tuesday and Wednesday is an absolute STEAL and the bar staff are always amazing.

These are the best cocktails I have ever tasted overall as they have 23 signatures + a good list of classics. The staff knowledge needs 2 improve a little, but r very good in most aspects. The Tapas, Watson burger & snacks, soft drinks are fab as well. The service is quite slow at times even when it is not that busy, the menu needs 2 be a lot clearer e.g. the board outside, what is in all the cocktails, It is really nice environment an atmosphere though, very good entertainers as I have seen 3 different 1's now. I am a regular & definitely would recommend this place 2 others. This place always seems 2 run out of lots of stock for drinks that is not ideal really come on. 2 Staff members kept over charging me Gerry/Phillip at 1st by mistake, but then deliberately that is very poor.

We went there on Friday afternoon and it was not busy. We ordered 2 cocktails and we got 2 tapas dishes for free because of happy hour. Food was fine but cocktails were good. Soya pepper fry is very good tapas dish. You should order this.

Stunning atmosphere and they had a Thursday offer of buy one get one free on the Signature cocktails. I had two Sapphires and it came in a cool decanter with bubbling billowing smoke (just take care not to eat the dry ice that makes the bubbles). Great concept with the vegan Restaurant Herb as the kitchen operates tapas for this place. I will have to try the food next time as it looks like a great place for food and drinks with company.

Really lovely place to spend an afternoon. Quirky decor and very friendly staff. Some fun and delicious cocktails, particularly if you like fruity, sweet and sour ones with a bit of theatre thanks to the dry ice.

Vistited again on 30/05/2023 with my 6 year old. This bar has a Harry Potter vibe, which my daughter loves. The dry ice in my cocktail was amazing and fascinating to her. Like a potion. A special mocktail was made for her. However, they weren't included in the 241 deal, so two mocktails came to £12 (just a juice, which seems expensive) I don't usually like cocktails. However, with recommendations from bar staff, I was able to try two drinks and love them. Reccomend - MAI TAI AT THE MOVIES (tatsed like popcorn) AND TEMPTING PASSION (very sour) (signature cocktails) 241 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So basically £5 each, which is a fantastic price. Staff are super friendly and makes you feel welcome. incredible decor. The car on the wall and the dry ice gave me magic/Harry Potter feels. They also sell vegan food. However, I ate next door.

Really friendly, lovely and helpful staff. Cocktails were awesome… loved the dry ice for extra effect! Decor was really cool too. Vegan tapas was available but we were off for a meal afterwards but will definitely be back to try the tapas too! Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing place! We have sampled many amazing cocktail places in London, and I have to say, this Leicester pub puts almost all of those to shame! The atmosphere and design is unique, with soo much attention to every little detail. The cocktails super tasty and flashy! 100% recommend

Amazing place and beautiful interior decor. I would give it 6 stars if I could! This has got to be one of the most classiest and quirkiest bars in Leicester. I hired the venue for my husbands birthday recently. Philip (Folio) was extremely helpful and accommodating. It was organised very last minute but he was able to do everything that was requested. The service on the night was fantastic and the staff were all so friendly and fun. They made everyone feel so welcome. All our guests really enjoyed the theatre style cocktails and the shots were also so smooth and lovely. I also had organised a few food items, which everyone really enjoyed especially the saucy chips. On the night there was also a Jazz player which was the cherry on top. A fantastic place for a drink, food or party. Thank you to all the staff, we had a great time and we'll definitely be back soon. 😃

Came in because I loved the decor. Planned to have just 1 cocktail but the bartender told me it’s Happy Hour so I had 2. Julia was very polite and skilled so I ended up having 2 more. I wasn't a fan of Bacardi but for some reason im a fan now because the cocktails she made tasted amazing.

We popped in here on the 18th April 2023. It has great decor & the cocktails that we had were delicious. Their signature cocktails were 'buy one get one free' (for £10) and we didn't have to have the same cocktails in this price. The cocktail menu has some strange combinations though. One of our party ordered the 'State Of India'. The barman asked if he wanted it mild, medium or hot. We queried this & the barman explained that it had chilli in it. The paper menu did not mention chillies. Our friend had it without chillies, which he enjoyed. I had the 'Red Drink' which had soya milk & it was lovely. Looking on their website they show far fewer cocktails than the paper version has!?!

such a beautiful place! I absolutely love the decor and ambience, and the bartender Aravidhan was very kind and helpful. I ordered three tapas: salt+pepper soya, sweet potato bites and saucy chips. the portions are the perfect size, and all the food is so flavourful and delicious! I also ordered a non-alcoholic fruit punch that had notes of popcorn - very interesting! had a lovely time and would definitely come again :)

Wow! amazing place with a lovely chilled ambience, oodles of character and Indian bits'n bobs on the wall, was interesting to hear about their history, lovely vegan Indian tapas at the bar with a great option of having a proper south Indian food in the adjoining restaurant. Also great live local music some evenings. Will deffo be coming back here again soon.

We had a lovely time here. I invited my friend from Nottingham and so glad I did. She loved it too. The Vegan tapas were amazing. We had all of them. Also tried the burger. The food was tasty and the portion sizes were perfect. We loved every mouthful. The staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is so relaxed 😍 We will definately be back in a couple of weeks.

Absolutely fantastically decorated bar. Fantastic staff! I advised the barman Gerry of my preference (rum & spice) in taste and he provided a 'State of India'. Got to say, it's probably the best cocktail I've had! To top it, they it was my birthday so they brought out a HUGE smoking chest with 3 surprise cocktails hiding inside! Absolutely amazing experience! Thank you Gerry and Ross! Had the most amazing time <3
