Warrens Bakery in Plymouth

Used this a lot great service. Very busy but all staff amazing. Great sekection of food.

buyers beware at cafe by discharge loung large cuppa tea from Starbucks machine £2.40 but from Warrens Cafe £3.30 !!!! What the hell sort of mark up is that on a paltry tea bag and a splash of milk??? 😡

The food here is very over priced and the quality is poor and almost tasteless. I wouldn't really recommend Warrens Bakery to anyone for the savoury produce (i.e. sausage rolls, paninis, pasties). The sweet treats are a little better though and the tango ice blast machine is a good find.

Quite dissapointed. This Warren's isn't a Warren's that you can use your 10% off on the app for a friend referral. You also can't get the £2 Tuesdays coffee here because it's not a Warren's you can use the Warren's £2 Coffee on a Tuesday in. The Paninis have virtually no filling inside and cost the earth. Its highly overpriced and gives you cheap minimal products. Feels like a corporate business model. I just wanted food. The pasties are the only value for money but only if you use the 1.50 off on the app. That's now 1/ week use.

I had a takeaway bacon slice from this bakery yesterday. Be careful it cost £3.60. I had walked away from the hospital so too late to return. It was over baked, burnt. I dont know how long it had been standing there. I would not recommend using this bakery. It was overpriced and inedible.

I am in the 24 restaurant Derriford hospital on the 7 floor just had a 6 piece breakfast and coffee for 6.50 and it was fantastic 👌 😀 I also on Monday had a free cookie with my coffee at 2pm i have seen negative comments about there food has a retired chef when you see bacon not burnt you no its been watched so if you want it crispy they can put it back on the griddle longer and if you work and have a NHS ID its cheaper

Work in derriford and this is the most expensive place to eat. Bacon roll not worth the money bacon looked like it had been warmed from the day before. Worst part is ONE and I mean only ONE hash brown cost £1 shocking food

What a load of Garbage not nice staff or food loads ordered takeout and SAT IN without a word my husband and I SAT IN & WERE TOLD 20'%EXTRA TO SIT IN LOOKS LIKE ONE LAW FOR ONE AND ONE LAW FOR EVERYONE ELSE.

Lady at till needs retraining on how to interact with customers to provide a positive experience Completely uninterested in he job and the peopleshe is ser ing. this is a Hospital.!!!

I was admitted to hospital so this was a good location to grab a quick bite to eat or a hot cuppa.

Very expensive. Catering for a captive market and profiteering from it. Not fare on patients!

Update. April 16th 6.05pm superb service from a couple of young ladies who took my order. Smiles, professional and everything customer service should be. David five star for that Staff always look stressed out and being a clean person I spot things that haven't been cleaned properly. Nice coffee.

Ripping the public off in a hospital, disgraceful, while taking the monopoly, left with no options. Should be a law on this and fair choice offered. Fattening dry crusty food. Staff are nice

Main reason for poor review is that the company have started deliberately excludes hospitals from any of their relatively good offers on the rewards app. Mainly giving multi buy offers on pasties instead.

Seriously Over priced and a waist of money

Served by a young blonde ish girl called Talia very polite, positive and passionate. She’s definitely a credit to them and a very hard worker lucky to have a staff member like her.

Awful place. Staff very abrupt, utter utter chaos. never seen such a shambles of disorganised staff, having to shout across each other. Never going to use it again. BTW your sausage rolls are disgusting. Threw it in the bin.

Very rude and ignorant member of female staff, could do with remembering this is a hospital and people are at their most vulnerable. Using the cafe is a necessity not a choice of fine dining, being nasty and condescending isn't needed. We cleared up after ourselves as we'd finished items, we'd bought from the cafe, only to be accused of not being paying customers and shouldn't be sat there. It was 7pm and very quiet so it's not like we were in the way of anyone either. Have easily spent over £100 in the last few days here visiting our daughter in the ICU so just generally made an incredibly difficult time worse.

Staff are great ,coffee isn't to bad. Food is really is awful..they need to up their game. Warren's are hanging on to their old reputation and it certainly not working.

Good customer service and good range of products. Due to the location, it is always busy so be prepared to queue. But it is worth it

Overpriced and poor quality food. After discovering that a majority of the pasties contain fat and gristle and very little meat. I tried several different sandwiches. Only to find that after making them Warrens put them through a special machine, which removes all of the flavour. Possibly as a result of cost saving, the standard of food here has taken a nose dive in 2022 and you will always feel ripped off. Better off going to Subway or M&S.

£1.60 for a can of coke. Sausage roll was bland and no texture, like eating a mousse.. no chewing required 😂

Decent Pasties and Cakes... prices a touch high.

Thank you to the night owls 1st to 2nd October. A smiling face and kindness when not feeling yourself is as warming as the hot chocolate you served me.

Wonderful staff helped me purchase a light snack and drink when I didn't have the energy to get up and walk after being discharged. They were incredibly kind. Great to see a nice Cornish bakery up there. Reasonable prices despite the reviews.

Great garden centre and restaurant and you can get everything here you could want plus they have a comprehensive pet section too.

Pasty costs an arm and a leg, but despite this my partner managed to get 9 stamps on his loyalty card and was refused his free pasty because it was ‘squiggled on’ not stamped, even though the woman who squiggled on it was who served us. Foods gross anyway, you’d think because it’s a hospital it’d be hygienic but it’s really not. Shame

Well, one lady a little bit rude actually, I used my loyalty card for a free coffee and walked past the tills to the coffee area which is in the open, no one there so I tapped the machine for flat white and this lady stopped the machine and said I’m serving the drinks then walked off, fortunately a young girl noticed my predicament and offered to serve my coffee, if the cafe users are not allowed to use these machines (similar to the ones in Wetherspoons) then they should make it clearer.

Well stocked, friendly service, good location, slightly overpriced for eating in.

Hot food looks and smells inedible. Staff not particularly friendly and all seem fed up. Only bought a cup of tea here as this branch is at the local hospital. It's busy because they have the monopoly.

Overcooked, overheated dry cornish, hard like a stone pastry, shame specially for a price they charge, plus how hard is to understand that "2 coffees, latte with non dairy milk" lol got latte with full fat milk and normal coffee with soy milk, but been charged for latte lol, 1st and last time for food out there

Poor food quality, pasty was rock solid. Prices were sky high.

Had the misfortune of being served by the youngish, fair haired girl yesterday. I was polite same can't be said of her who was as rude and ignorant as they come. I said thanks at the end but all she did was give me a dirty look then shouted next.

Had a pasty and a doughnut here today, expensive! Disgusting and dirty. Seriously how can you mess up a pasty or a doughnut!. Dry tasteless and left unfinished. Live and learn never again.

Just had medium pasty from here, disgusting, pastry rock hard and burnt, insides dried out and ridiculous price for such rubbish. Shant bother again.

Sausages were overcooked and the bread so thin it fell apart. Paying 5.60 for a sausage sandwich and cup if tea you would hope it was edible

Stopped by had a cheese and beans jacket it was find the beans found one dried up cheese like cardboard shame as the potato was hit light and fluffy Left best part of it but hot drink was hot

Just bought a cheese and mushroom croissant from warrens derriford for my wife and I. It's was so revolting I just had to write a review. There was a really strange plastic taste to it. We both couldn't get rid of the awful taste and both of us felt sick from eating a small amount. On another occasion I also experienced what was probably the worst English breakfast I'd ever had.

Horrible salad with brown lettuce, straight in the bin.

Lovely pasties, helpful staff & cheap prices

I got to know this business very well over the last five months as a very dear friend spent six weeks in hospital spread over three separate admissions. I've got to say that I found the staff to be absolutely brilliant, bright, friendly, cheerful helpful, enthusiastic and professional. Warrens have a pretty good product which is reasonably priced but it is the quality of the service and the smiles that sets them apart from run of the mill coffee shops. It's is an incredibly busy unit during the day the team keep up with demand their cheerfulness is a tonic in itself. Obviously with it being a 24 hour operation as well they seem to have a lot of tasks to do with the preparation of the business for the next day but the night crew go about their work diligently and the never fail to have a smile even through the dark lonely hours of the night. The staff are totally outstanding. The only suggestion I can make for improving this business would be if their head office could support them a little bit better. Perhaps they should make an effort to keep in stock of things like loyalty cards yes it is surprising but they do run out of stock of loyalty cards and spoons for stirring the coffee, nobody really likes those little wooden sticks. I'm sure space is at a premium, storage of things like sugar might be difficult, but I'm sure something can be worked out so that they can be delivered every day. The supervisors and staff who keep this place running 24 hours a day 7 days a week are providing an exceptional and important service. They are a credit to themselves and the organisation that's lucky to employ them. Keep up the good work

Worse tasting sauage rolls ever

Ordered a Cappuccino to drink in Cafe and was served a takeaway paper cup. Was told the cups had all been used and was waiting for someone to wash and replenish clean pot mugs. Totally unacceptable as one had been charged more money to drink in as opposed to taking out! If more pot mugs are needed then purchase more or employ staff to keep on top of usage. I'm not impressed with the service or should I say ... Lack of Service!!
