after visiting the castle, my husband and I called in at Wal for lunch. the service was friendly and quick. the food was delicious. we had soup, leek and potato, and a full sandwich, one ham, one cheese, both were on fresh bread and very tasty.

food and drink was of good quality and very nice ,however we were baffled at the fact it was only 2pm and they put a board outside saying now closed by 2.15 at least 30 customers had been turned away..abruptly told no we closed!!! silly time to close on a busy Sunday afternoon if you ask me. clearly cost of living isn't affecting the owners of this place.

The waitress saw as sitting now is 15 min since we sitted and still no one to serve us menu.

What a gem this place is. Food was amazing great setting brilliant staff so polite and friendly we will be back when we come back on our hols. Also a bonus its dog friendly thanks for a great evening

Highly recommended I travel around Europe a lot and wal is one of the best restaurants I have visited.will most definitely be going back.

Best chips I ever had anywhere in the UK. Very good fish with the chips. Whatever you order, choose something with chips.

Fillet steak, chicken and pizza were all superb, even 2 fussy children were impressed will definitely be back

We dined as a family of five (including three children) and had an amazing experience. We ordered the smashed burgers, grilled seabass, and steaks. Everything was incredibly delicious. The children said the burgers were the best they had ever tasted. The steaks were melt-in-the-mouth, and the seabass was magical. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the staff were friendly, and the prices were excellent. For five people, we spent only £130 and left feeling absolutely stuffed. Highly recommended!

Delicious food, both the linguini with seafood and the crusted hake.

We really liked the pizzas (goat cheese and funghi). One of the best soils ever!

What a lovely find, very warm welcome. Had the black pudding/goat cheese starter and 10oz rump main, both were excellent, the chips were amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant, sorry I didn't come across it earlier in my visit to Caernarfon

Attractive place, close to the castle. Service not particularly friendly or attentive. But the biggest shock was the prices. £15 for a chicken wrap or £9 for a bacon bap. Obviously a place for unaware tourists

Unwelcoming and unpleasant service. Arriving when there were few people, the waitresses took turns in front of us for several minutes, completely ignoring us. Not the slightest hello or “we’ll take care of you soon”.

It was the first time I visited this cafe in Caernarfon. I know from a travel website that its fish and chips are recommended. My family had lunch here. We ordered large fish and chips and Margherita pizza. Both dishes are amazing and delicious. I feel so surprised that they can provide good Welsh, British and Italian food. At the same time, the customer service is satisfactory. The staff are friendly, helpful and nice. Feel satisfied with this meal.

Looked at a few places to eat and decided to try Wal, so glad we did food was excellent so tasty and freshly cooked, my Daughter had a Pizza which she said was one of the best she has had, we had the chicken strips and they were delicious, Service was excellent staff very friendly, Thank you for a lovely meal.

The location was very central The staff were lovely The decor was really nice The toilets were ok , but weird they shared it with next door but… The food was really good. Pizza excellent Firecracker chicken excellent Children’s pasta simple but tasty Service was spot on And the price was very reasonable If I was local I’d have to visit more often.

I’m not one to leave a bad review however I had a terrible experience here. I ordered a vegan meal and was served a non-vegan meal (with cow cheese) I could tell straight away in the first bite and the waitress was very apologetic and brought me the vegan meal I had ordered. I felt too sick to eat much so I just had a few chips in the bowl and noticed underneath they had dropped coleslaw on them luckily I noticed before eating something non-vegan again. After making a mistake, apologising and being made very aware of my dietary requirements they were then careless and made the same mistake twice! Really awful experience and could be a severe issue for someone with allergies, clearly careless.

We wandered around Caernarfon looking for somewhere that looked half decent to eat and after what seemed an eternity found the Wal and entered a sanctuary, an oasis. Full of happy people and dogs taking refuge from Caernarfon. The breakfast was tasty, the sausage well cooked, the mushrooms actually tasted lovely not just wet or rubbery or greasy. The flat white coffee was as it should be. The dogs were a tonic. We watched bemused tourists wandering past the restaurant wondering why they had come to Caernarfon. Oh, the Castle. Now what? Try and find somewhere decent to eat. And they all ended up in Wal happy in the knowledge that for a brief moment they were safe from Caernarfon.

A modern cafe in the centre of historic Caernarfon offering quality food at a reasonable price. They have a large varied menu with vegetarian and gluten free options. I had Eggs Royale which great. Will definitely back.

Very tasty pizza, with out to much salt which gives me a bad head. Great toppings which are more ulthentic then the big brands.

Came because of the reviews praising the seafood options (fish curry, linguini) but after ordering drinks were told that those kinds of items were only part of the dinner menu (and they weren't open in the evening that day). Mixed vegetable soup with half a sandwich were both quite disappointing (generic white bread with too much butter, soup tasted odd). Scampi and chips was much better.

Amazing place. Food was incredible and very quick.

We had our lunch recently from this restaurant. We did not have a reservation but as there was enough space for our group of 7 people, we were offered a seating. We ordered 2 burgers, one fish and chips, 2 fire cracker chicken and some drinks. The food took ages to come (to be fair, it was written in the menu to allow time for the food to cook, but still it took close to an hour to get our food). The food was just average, nothing extra ordinary. The staff behavior was good and the ambience is nice. Won't be disappointed but still can look at other options if available.

Very fortunate to call this my local. As the staff are incredibly kind and attentive. The breakfast is hearty and of good quality. As for the atmosphere inside, it's incredibly warm and impeccably clean throughout. Highly recommended a visit

Great food, nice place, good service from a friendly young team, good prices. Eggs Royale were incredible, perfect poached eggs, smoked salmon and hollandaise on a lovely crisply toasted chewy bagel. Someone who cares about the food they put out is clearly in charge of the kitchen. Cappuccino was the hottest one I've ever had! Only 1.95 for a pot of tea with 2 decent cups in it too. Dog friendly, inside and on the seating outside at the front. Highly recommended.

Dog friendly! All day breakfast served here. Not long after we sat down, lots of people started to come in with their dogs. Staff were so friendly and service was great! They gave our dog some dog biscuits! I ordered a large veggie breakfast and it was amazing! Definitely would come here again and recommend it.

Reasonably priced and very good food. The place is lovely inside. Service excellent and very dog friendly. Brought a bowl of water and treats. Highly recommended

Nice cooked breakfast with friendly staff. Liked the decor, natural stone and lighting. Much larger than seems from the front with two group tables at the back. Missed courtesy check and sausage a little overcooked, but would visit again. Catered well for gluten intolerance.

Lovely haddock and chips, decent burger, and fantastic pizza. Most of the pizza came away with us as our little-un wasn't very hungry, and it was still tasty cold hours later.

Great customer service and food overall with risotto and pizzas, however poor experience with the steak. Ordered three fillet steaks which were overcooked medium rare was medium and medium was well done. Great customer service though and the steak was reordered but the pepper corn sauce came back watery compared to the other sauces.

Delicious food with excellent customer service. I came here with my family +dog for lunch. From my table I could see how the kitchen staff worked, with every plate checked by the head chef for quality. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended, we will return.

From start to finish, the whole experience was superb. The food, including the gluten free options, was sublime. I had the king prawn starter followed by the rib eye steak all of which was perfectly cooked. The service was friendly, personal and warm. Da iawn i chwi gyd. Firstly, thank you to the staff who accommodated us as walk-ins. I would highly recommend booking a table as for a Wednesday, they had no other available seats. Sorry, no pics as hunger took over. We opted for the chorizo starter between us, which we devoured. Very tasty! Then a pizza each for main. Arrived very swiftly and went down swiftly! The goats cheese pizza was absolutely delicious. Thank you the the staff for the friendly service, will definitely be booking a table when we return to the area.

Super sympathiek restaurant. Er was niks mis mee. We hadden zin in kip dus we hadden chicken strips, gevulde kip, en spicy chicken besteld. De spicy chicken was heeel spicy maar toch erg lekker. We moesten lang wachten maar dat was niet zo erg. Voor we weg gingen had ik nog een klein gesprekje met de eigenaar van het restaurant. Een aanrader dus!

We went to Wal for dinner. It was great! Really friendly and helpful staff. There were plenty of options for vegans/vegetarians. They were really knowledgeable on allergens and made everything gluten free for us. ☺️ Amazing food!

Visited yesterday after an afternoon out at Caernarfon castle. The food was amazing, the best pizza dough we’ve ever tried. The staff are kind and welcoming, my husband and I loved the experience. We hope to be back again next time - Diolch.

Brilliant place to eat, always busy but that just shows how popular they are. Delicious food, and a good choice for GF, veggie and vegans. Toilets are immaculate which is very important. Service is always very professional and friendly. Love it.

Rang this morning to book a table for 2 for 5ish no problem, 2 minutes later they rang to say unfortunately they only have 8:15 available, we said that was too late. Went into Caernarfon town at 5 looking for a place to eat. Going past wal we noticed only one table was taken and no reservation signs on any other tables so went in and yes a table was available. Ordered food and drinks, starter arrived before drinks, depressing music and the food very mediocre. Pasta dish, starter, glass of wine and a beer not worth £44 in our mind. Will go elsewhere in future and tell our customers to do so.

Great place for a cooked breakfast

On our trip to Caernafon we walked in by chance and came back. The food is amazing, good prices and good service. Would definitely recommend to get the Vegan all day breakfast!

Wow, this is how you run a restaurant and how you treat customers. What a lovely place and a lovely experience from start to finish. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. I am a Coeliac and that's not always easy, but the staff are knowledgable, flexible and instill confidence that I'm not going to be poorly with gluten. We had a family of 6 people, plus 4 very well behaved dogs, we were sat in a lovely part of the restaurant which is designed in such a way that the dogs are unlikely to get in the way or disturb others. We were asked for drink orders as soon as we sat down and drinks were delivered very quickly indeed, that allowed us to take time and read the extensive menu. Our food orders were taken around 10 minutes later and the food probably only took around 20 minutes to arrive despite the number of us. One of our dishes came a few minutes later, for which they apologised, but honestly, that was minor and no problem at all. Food was absolutely perfect. We left a tip and we particularly thanked the younger staff who were starting out and well guided by the other staff.

I once heard a joke about the quality of english cooking - you know, boiled meat wrapped in dough and bake with an onion or that sort of stuff. Well, we're in Wales, and I don't know where they found them, but they have some great people in the kitchen. Yeah it's a pizza place, yeah they have pasta dishes. Yeah I'm from New Jersey so I know what good pizza and pasta really are and should be. Wal has it.

Popped in on the way home from our holidays, and was really impressed I love the building with what I assume is part of the old castle walls running through. My Better half had a large white wine, Pleno Blanco that she enjoyed We had a Garlic Bread with Cheese that was amazing. No pics as we dived right in The Burger was great too.

One of the best places around for a good Welsh Breakfast

We went for lunch and chose the eggs benedict and eggs florentine and coffee. Delicious food and coffee with refills. Great service in pleasant surroundings.

Food was very tasty. Good choices for vegetarians and even a delicious vegan torte for desert. Very reasonable price and service was excellent.

Tan pizza restaurant, and takeaway is located on Palace Street Caernarfon. Recently opened it has a truly buzzing atmosphere, great decor and furnishings. The pizzas are to die for, and no cutlery, you just dig in, I looked around when I was there, and all the customers looked happy and excited to be there, as for the staff they were fantastic and really happy too give the customer's a top class service, especially the 2 young men,, service is everything I think, they were happy to stop and chat and nowadays, since the pandemic service has really been hit hard. The Wall has simply nailed it. Not only do I recommend it, you must see for yourself,.
