Amazing food. Great environment. I went with my family, they gave us a gray table for a family of five everybody’s food was absolutely perfect exactly what we had hoped for based on the recommendations we’ve had. Juan was an amazing server.. very nice and attentive.

My wife and I visited in the evening for dinner before taking our train from Waterloo. We had no expectations but the host offered us a table with a view of the river on the second floor. Brilliant from the start! Our server Ana (with only 1 N) swiftly came over and explained the specials of the day and the food menu. We ordered some of her recommendations and all the dishes were delicious and freshly made. My wife loved her spicy margarita! Overall it was an amazing experience with Ana giving us full attention despite the dinner rush, we felt she was taking good care of us as well as all the other customers around us. The staff (host, servers, chefs, bartenders) clearly know what they're doing. We will definitely be back next time we're in London!

Lovely casual place for a quick meal before the theatres at Southbank or an exhibition. It is nice that you can book. Thorough approach to allergies. Always a favourite to have salted caramel ice cream and chocolate sauce - still the best dessert!

Wahacca Southbank has exactly what you need to make your cultural trip to the southbank a memorable one! I have eaten here several times and it has never missed on its delicious menu, always something new which I then try to recreate at home. Service is what really makes it though, we had Klaudia, who elevated our experience effortlessly with a warm welcome and friendly chat - something you don’t get much of in London, so you really appreciate it when you get it! Well done guys, keep making peoples’ days!

The food was fabulous, hot and tasty. Delicious ice cream sundae! The restaurant was full, but only had to wait fifteen minutes to get a table with help from the friendly concierge. There was a place to wait and we were able to get a drink so the time flew by. The view was great as it was by the Thames. The service at the bar and restaurant was brilliant. The customer service was A*. with all the staff being super friendly, helpful, attentive and who really made the evening. It had twinkly lights and had a cool vibe. We went on Saturday the 17th, so kudos to all the staff who never stopped smiling or working the whole time.

Really nice food. We had one of the taster options which gave a good spread of choice. The new chorizo quesadillas, buttermilk chicken tacos, and corn bread were our favourite pics, absolutely stellar.

Location is lovely and the staff were excellent. Negatives first, the Horchata was not the best, nothing like traditional Horchata anyway. My wife had the beef tacos, she wasn't a huge fan as they were bland and she thought the cheese tasted burnt ( I disagree!) The Sonoran hummus and chips was fantastic as was my ultimate burrito, although I'd have preferred tid the extra ultimate bits were inside the burrito so I could eat it with my hands as opposed to knife and fork. But it was delicious. I'd come back again as there is so much to choose from! The service is excellent as is the atmosphere.

Hola, llegué con mi novia el 9 de octubre al restaurante y no había mesa disponible, nos pidieron que entremos a la página www.wahaca.co.uk para reservar mesa y que esperemos en la terraza hasta que nos llamen. Hoy es domingo 4 de febrero y aun estamos afuera del restaurante esperando una mesa disponible a través de la aplicación. Tenemos frío y hambre. Después de estar 4 meses esperando ser atendidos estamos pensando en pedir comida en Burger King. Awful.

We went on the off chance of a table and didn't have to wait long. We were greeted by a young man doing an excellent job of managing the door and getting people seated and he kindly got us a table pretty quickly. Service by a waiter was quick, efficient, friendly and down to earth. He went through how it all works as it was our first time there. The restaurant had a separate gluten free menu (which I needed) and it was easy to access and had plentiful interesting and exciting dishes. The food was scrumptious, so good - beautiful, flavour full, just the right amount, not expensive. We felt happy and relaxed there. Even though it was super busy, the waiters were the right amount of attentive and, if something was going to take a while, they let us know. There also felt no pressure to eat and go to free up the table. We had the best time in a restaurant that we've had in a really long time. Thank you.

Never step foot in this place while Carlata works there!! Shocked how disrespectful the service was. Would only expect this lever of attitude from the streets. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't stay to even have a glass of tap water.

This is my 3rd visit here in 6 years. I was not disappointed. The food is excellent (always heed the host’s suggestions), and the service was superb. Excellent job by our host (Sorry for the spelling Dinesh, I think that’s how your name is spelled 😅). We had the Frijoles with chips, then the chicken quesadillas, fish tacos then beef gringa. All were excellent. Location and view, as always, are amazing.

After all these years and many other places trying their hand at Mexican fare, Wahaca is still the best for Mexican Street food in London. Well prepared, delicious tacos and quesadillas at a decent price.

Always a place you trust to get tasty food and nice cocktails. Easy and relaxed atmosphere, great for sharing lots of different dishes. The set meals for 2 offer great value and will fill the table with delicious food and leave you very satisfied. Service was very friendly and relaxed.

Good food but don't accept amex.

Our server Laura was great and the food was ok and reasonably priced. HOWEVER, there was an unwelcome 12.5% service charge added on top of the bill for only 3 people who ordered 1 item each and 1 drink? I didn't know the UK was now part of the toxic tipping culture plaguing the Americas. I will not be coming back as I refuse to support businesses doing this. Edit: tipping should be by default OPT-IN and NOT OPT-OUT.

Great food (as per all Wahacas) but we have found the service quite variable at this location!! Generally friendly, but in one instance a member of the team was so offhand and dismissive right from the start that we left. We were a bit taken aback!! It’s a nice location though so worth checking out and taking your chance 🙃

Got seated super quickly even though the restaurant seemed busy. Had the favourites set menu and it was lots of food and the dessert was tasty too. The service was quick and friendly.

An unusual and quirky building being a pile of shipping containers. The extensive menu never fails and food is great. Serving style of bringing food to the table sporadically and as it’s ready won’t suit everyone but for us it worked well. Prices are in line with all London restaurants but not extortionate. Atmosphere is always good. Recommended

Great food and great service once you are inside. Describes itself as "streetfood", which implies you can just turn up and grab some tacos. That's misleading, it's a mexican restaurant and if you don't have a reservation you'll be waiting 30-60 mins for a table.

Had a nice evening with a group. Couldn't fault the food or service.

We were super-impressed! This was our first visit to Wahaca and the food was fresh, tasty and good value for money. The staff are delightful, and service efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

Disclaimer: If you're looking for authentic Mexican, don't go here. The chicken and chorizo enchiladas were good, though it tasted like they used a spiced up tomato sauce. The rice is a dry green rice that has very potent spices. Cheese quesadillas are very full of cheese and quite good. They portions are as advertised on their menu. If it says you need 2 or 3, you do! I suggest reservations. We had a short wait, about 10 minutes. Our server, Sabi, was very friendly and his service was good without being too much.

There was way more food but I didn’t manage to make the picture . I think the fish taco is the winner . Everything actually was nice as always . We love it we enjoyed and we over eat . But hey it’s Xmas so it’s ok haha . Service were great cozy place . Definitely going to come back

This review is for the street food counter customer service on 30 Dec in front of wahaca. The service was abysmally unfriendly and miserable that it beggars belief. A smile goes a long way when a customer CHOOSES to buy a burrito from you. DO BETTER.

We visited this establishment as part of the hospitality week celebrations. In an unusual twist of fate, myself and the wife both ended up in London on business at the same time. So we chose this place. We really enjoyed it. We loved the idea of a menu to pick at, help yourself and eat at the speed you want. So we picked the tacos and various other dishes. Everything is spicy, tasty and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great. The staff are friendly and approachable. Also, the added free tequila was a bonus! I just wish the wife had sipped hers instead of necking it! If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely go back!

Bombastic! As a connoisseur of Mexican cuisine, I can say on good authority that this jawn slaps. Drinks were top notch with some tasty little fruits on top. Really amazing enchiladas and quesadillas! That came out really fast too! Service was pleasant, ambiance was lively & fitting, and the location is wonderful. Tasty grub, muchachos!🤠🤠

Ik begrijp al die goede recensies niet. We werden vriendelijk onthaald en het ziet er gezellig uit maar daar bleef het bij. We kregen zeer vuile waterglazen maar geen water (gelukkig want ik zou er toch niet uit gedronken hebben) De cocktail stonk en ik weet niet of het het glas was of de inhoud. Ook de taco's waren niet lekker, volledig doordrongen van het vet en een overheersende smaak waardoor je de inhoud niet meer proefde. De ober die ons bediende leek volledig opgefokt van de stress (of van iets anders) en was niet vriendelijk. Als ons iemand had gevraagd of alles in orde was, had ik het ter plaatse kunnen zeggen maar dat was niet het geval. Met een slecht gevoel buitengegaan en wij komen niet meer terug.

Waiter Johan was great and the food was delicious - however really busy and no management of the queue to advise those with bookings to come forward, meaning our booking was cancelled. A member of staff when advised of this replied people should just be ignoring the queue (the staff member had a distinctly smart arsed tone and smirk as they said that to a visibly irritated mother of 3 young children). Childrens' food was the last out (I accept they had unusually large amounts of kids and that they're not setup to manage that but unideal)

Queue was total chaos, with walk in and booked mixed up in the long queue, which was frustrating as we had booked well in advance. Once seated, it was actually a good service with dishes served fresh and promptly along with drinks. Recommend the buttermilk chicken tacos, special seasonal potatoes dish, salad and mocktails!

The food portions are a good size and of course tasty. We had a great waiter who gave honest accurate opinions on what to order. I liked the atmosphere, busy not squashed together with other tables.

From my time living in America I love Mexican food. This Mexican street food is awesomely tasty, healthy, and the service great and friendly. They are very careful on my allergies. And the view of the Thames wonderful.

Dinash was a brilliant waiter that made our experience lovely. He was patient, friendly and knew the menu well. The food was amazing, from the small plates to bigger plates.

Absolutely loved the food. If you're into spicy food, they serve the hottest hot sauce available in store. No other place I've been to actually serves hot sauce like this! Also the waiter was extremely passionate about the food and his reccomendation was spot on!

I enjoyed my visit to this Wahaca. Food was great as always and the service was great as always too. It was quite busy as it's the holidays and a lot of people on Southbank. Do take that in mind and there can be a wait if there are more than two people in your group.

Good food, great drinks but poor service.

We were very disappointed as we used to love Wahaca at Bluewater. This time the food and service was underwhelming, unfortunately we won’t be returning

Our waiter was very friendly and smiley despite it being a very busy time of day to visit. The tables are very cramped especially when you’re just a couple sat amongst large groups. I’ve had better food from other Wahaca’s the ingredients just weren’t as fresh but still tasty. Atmosphere was slightly spoiled by screaming kids running in between already cramped tables but not much can be done about that. We were given a window seat overlooking the Thames so all in all I’d return again!

Top floor it’s dark and had to use our phone-flash lights to see the menu I get it you are trying to create a *atmosphere* but trust me it’s not fun when we can’t see the menu or the food that we are eating 😅 food portions small for the prices but at least its tasty..toilets are dirty and stink..service was ok

A lovely evening dinner at Embankment Wahaca. We didn't have to wait very long to be seen or for our drinks/food even with a fairly dull restaurant. Our waitress Bruna was very nice and friendly. Good cocktails too! Very enjoyable meal out

The evening started off well, a party of 6 we were aware we needed to be out on time. Two of our group were running late but we ordered their food ahead of time. The issues arose when a member wasn't even serving our table approached us and said this booking is for 90mins and you only have 19mins left on the table. We ordered one main course which hadn't even arrived to the table as it was delayed and we were being ushered out. The food finally arrived but because we were due to see a show at the southbank centre for 7:30 the person literally had to scoff the food down. When we raised this with the actual person serving us who was really excellent she brought over the person who tried to made the timing remarks over, who tries to deny saying anything even though our whole table heard and instead of accepting the mistake and ending the situation decides to make things worse and imply the whole table were rude and involves the manager. The manager was more understanding but at the end of the day it was unacceptable somone who wasn't even involved in serving our table coming over and rushing us when the food hadn't even arrived on time. Although the food and the rest of the service from the attendant was excellent the experience with this individual leaves a sour taste, and highlights a lack of training in how to speak to customers and hospitality.

This is not a tourist trap. Simply a great venue with great food. And nice cocktails. I had the Blackberry Margarita. So should you.

Food good as ever, staff can't be bothered to serve customers though. Attitudes are bad, service slow and rude, with exception of management. Very disappointing compared to a visit six months ago.

Didn’t enjoy our time here. The host was very unwelcoming we understand how busy it was but we were made to feel like they didn’t want us at all, the food finally came out after an extended waiting time and was cold and not very nice. Was really disappointed as we had previously heard good things.

We went to wahaca for dinner and the atmosphere and music was good but I have a dairy allergy and was really annoyed with the lack of options for someone with a dairy allergy who still wants to eat milk. Although the staff were lovely they didn’t make the ordering experience easy and instead of trying to change what I wanted so I could eat it they just said you can’t have that it contains diary. I think restraints like wahaca need to improve their allergy menu and make sure they can cater to everyone

Delicious food, good cocktails and a fun vibe. Service was really good. We had the Classics Sharing Board with their new cornbread side. All of the food was great but our particular favourite was the Pork Pibil Tacos... Juicy and flavorful!

Mexican street food is very good. Very quick service once food ordered, window views of the River Thames too.

Apart from one naturally friendly female waiter near entente, service was androidesque. Allergy ordering is like no other and results in mains being presented prior to starters. Whilst waiter took away mains until starters served Manager could not have cared less. Unusually, we were not asked if further drinks were to be ordered. So, dullnouting with children, none of whom were engaged with, except bu bubbly lady downstairs. Wahaca received feedback. Cared even less then Manager here and even referred to checking CCTV??? After using Wahaca for over 1w years or so, never again.

Very poor and slow service destroyed the good food I'm usually used to

Food was very good. Service was toooooo slow. Shouldn't have to wait 30 mins to order and only then by going and finding the waiter and asking for an order to be taken. One of our meals was wrong but impossible to get anyone's attention to have it corrected. Then they have the audacity to automatically add a 12% service tax for that. Guess where we won't be going again........

Service was incredibly slow they were clearly understaffed today. Our food came out at different times so as a couple we didnt eat together. Ordered a burrito with cheese and gaucamole, neither were inside the burrito, really disappointed. Will never return and will go to Chipotle next time, their burritos are much nicer.

First time eating in this branch, we usually go to the one in Covent Garden. The food was great, but the cocktails were not as good as usual. Quick and friendly service, always a plus. It was also oddly quiet for a Saturday evening

We were really looking forward to having a meal here last night. We arrived at the doors at 5.30pm as we were on our way to the National Theatre. They were still on a lunch break! We have always had a good meal here so we were very disappointed. How can a lunch break last until 7pm as it said on the door. Many people turned up so a lot of custom was missed.
