Wagamama in Coventry

The experience at the restaurant was exceptional in every aspect. The sophisticated and cozy atmosphere, combined with impeccable service, elevated the afternoon. The food was the highlight, with creative and delicious dishes made from fresh ingredients and artistically presented. The Manager George was FANTASTIC! Very Kind 🙌.

Waited half hour and not served after being sat down, restaurant not particularly busy. Walked out as nobody seemed to be interested in serving us or acknowledged our wait. Really disappointed and walked out to go elsewhere.

Nice meal and attentive team who look after all

Food was decent but nothing exceptional. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice, though the flavors lacked excitement. A solid choice but room for improvement.

Sadly probably one of the worst takeaways I've ever eaten in Coventry. It was a birthday treat which cost nearly £100. Food was cold and the presentation was awful. The next day I felt ill.

Service is the only thing good. Ate several times but couldn't find something to crave for. Had katsu curry last time, tasted like Chinese spices. Breaded chicken was dry and burnt. Kitchen is open and that is how I could see the cook taking the noodles with bare hand from container and crammed in bag then topped with a ladder of soup, closed, twisted and shaked. I guess was my last visit.

Even on a Thurday this place was great for atmosphere...food great as always. The beef teriyaki donbura was fab and full of flavour

Disappointed with the Wagamama's at Coventry city center. Service wasn't great. Food was served cold and rather mediocre. Can do with a bit of refurbishing of the restaurant layout as well. Don't appreciate having tables right next to the toilet entrance that has no doors to it.

We came in for my boyfriend’s birthday meal, we had Otto as our waiter and he was really nice and attentive.

Had a nice experience today, I and my girlfriend sat down by chefs table so we could see whole kitchen. Chefs were very friendly we had few conversations, also our waiter George was really friendly. Dishes were really tasty. Will come again definitely!!

Alana gave us 5 star service! lovely vibe about her and happy to help our friend when she ordered the wrong dish. Food was also 10/10 x

Didn't enjoy my lunch today, felt in a rush to order food. Banging cauliflower wasn't banging,overcooked not up to normal standard. Ordered a new dish raisukaree with tofu ( 76) all very luke warm tofu was bland and mostly cold not sure if that is the norm ?? Won't order that again and wouldn't be sent to Coventry again.once was enough , oh the rice was nice....

Was working in Cov so thought I would come by for some food. It's been a while since I have been to Wagamammas, and it was surprising now little you get these days for the price of it. Don't think I will be re-attending any time soon. The food was ok, maybe it was my fond memories from previously but it was pretty bland to be honest. Service was the best part of this place. Everyone was so helpful and nice to talk to. But I came for the food and that was a let down.

the shirodashi pork belly ramen is the best thing maybe ever

Visited with a friend for lunch. Clean tables and good service. Food was hot and yummy when it came. Paid just under £30 for a Diet Coke, 1/2 a starter (shared with mr friend), Katsu chicken curry and a dessert. Not bad in the current climate. Would definitely go back again.

Brilliant veggies options. Hot Pot with Tofu and veggies is big portion, spicy and really nice. Gyoza and bau bons are fab. Location is central in town, as always green tea is free. Some decent new veggie options on menu. Kids menu decent, ice cream is fab.

This isn’t the first time that I am at this chain - definitely won’t be the last. I just had to write a review. Food was quick to be delivered, I was served by Beatriz who was amazing - she explained to me the differences between the meals clearly and concisely and definitely helped me choose a satisfying meal. It was tasty! All in all, great experience.

Alana was lovely - big fan of frogs in which is always a vibe. Manager (forgotten her name, sorry) was also a delight, but less into frogs (which I guess is ok, and she rocked a Disney Princess vibe which my friend really liked, but a bedazzled frog badge is hard to beat.) The other waiter seemed v nice but low-key had Wario energy 👀

I had the chicken yaki soba and it was really delicious I just drowned it in chilli oil and the seven spices it was awesome ⭐️

Our Squid came in a single, solid congealed lump - the chef hadn't bothered to separate the pieces before cooking or replace when they came out of the frier as a solid lump. The chicken ramen arrived as a small kids ramen. My tofu dish didn't have double tofu (which I always order). Our last order had a missing meal. Leamington Wagamama staff - you are an embarrassment to your parent company.

Best food, service and ambience. Love all their cuisines. I tried a fire cracker rice, roasted chicken ramen, dumplings and chicken noodles.

Went here with my grandma, second we walked in, we were greeted nicely and taken to a table, lively and fun atmosphere. Daisy was our server and she is so kind and nice, super helpful, gives opinions on food here, grandma’s taste Buds are set to very bland foods but she loved it. Grilled chicken ramen is very filling, warm and hearty. Korean beef buns were super yummy and so was the chili squid, Matcha chouxnuts were sensational, daisy recommended them. 10/10 from both of us definitely coming again

I went to Wagamama with my friends. We ordered different dishes, all of them were tasty and quite affordable for us students . I liked the atmosphere there , the digitalised way of both ordering and paying the bill. And most importantly for those who are fan of green tea, this is exactly the place to visit , as green green tea is a free complimentary there , and you can order it as many time as you want . On the day of our visit it was very cold there , that is why drinking tea and warming up was really good for us.

Obviously, today I am not the customer, but my 3 years old son need a toilet, and the stuff allowed me to get in for the toilet, thank you so much :)

Visited recently again after i was disappinted years ago. It was disappointing again having spent £30 for 2 people. Having grownup in a Chinese family we grew up with both Chinese, Japanese and oriental foods, i would say that the stir fried pad thai noodles was a bit watery for not draining the water properly before stir frying it, no proper Thai seasonings neither in it. The Japanese curry was bland too. I will stick to Shin Restaurant now as a regular where i know the head chef in the chain is Japanese!!

Being a mixed Japanese, the quality is not up to standard and not authentic. Thai pad noodles were a bit watery but supposed to be dry stir fried. The curry didn't have proper flavour of traditional Japanese curry neither. I tried the kontsutsu ramen noodles before expecting the broth should be a slow cook pork based soup that traditionally should have the pork flavour and milky in colur from slow cook but it was like clear watering soup You can tell by hardly any oriental customer in the restaurant where there is a proper authentic Japanese restaurant just at Priory Place where most are Chinese customers in there.

Had a wonderful lunch here the other day. My server (lady with the peach hair- sorry I didn’t catch her name) was so so lovely and really made my day. Overall a very friendly team, and great food as usual.

First time going here food was really nice won't be the last time

Me and my boyfriend were served by Max throughout 3:30 to 4:20-ish and they served us incredibly well. They continually came over to see if we were ready to order, they were super friendly. Max had also been the best server I'd had since servers in Wagamama's in the past had been rather distant and wouldn't check on us for half an hour between visits to my tables previously. Would go Wagamama's again because of the fantastic service by Max.

The crew was in the area and decided to have food in here. It's been some time since I had been to this chain but another had been recently and recommended it. The greeting was welcoming and most of the stars in this review are because the service was so good! The menu had a lot of vegetarian options on it too which was a nice surprise. The people waiting the tables were all lovely to talk to and would check in often, even if they were serving another table and it was great to be able to add to the order no matter who was passing. The food arrived warm and ready to eat but I wouldn't say it was fast. Yet in good company you'll not notice this. Sadly for me it was the food that let this place down. It just didn't have much flavour. It was nice but not so nice I will be attending this chain any time soon. You'll not be writing home about the food. But the great service will make your day. It was a little pricey for the size of the potions you get. All in all wasn't too bad. Worth popping by and gambling that there will be a different cook that nails the food. Enjoy.

We had a really good meal here but the main stand out was our waiter George. I explained how I liked my steak and I could see he then shared this directly with the chef. Great work George and thanks :-)

I went with my friends and I had a pleasant experience. I ordered the beef ramen; it came out within a reasonable time and was quite delicious. Wagamama’s is a fusion Asian place, but I was surprised at how authentic it looked and tasted. Service was wonderful, the staff were kind and welcoming and I had a nice time.

Would give this restaurant 6 stars if possible! From the customer service when you walk in, to ordering and payment....amazing. Loved the decor with the warm soft lighting, spacious table seating, (the food!), and very attentive waiting staff. Would be coming back for sure!

simple for us. parked in cov city centre. a centre i used to frequent but never go anymore it felt a little nostalgic but also a little disappointing. simple for us as in food. not big fans of this type of food but we know where we are with a chicken katsu so we both went for it. posted pics of it on social media and the presentation of the dish was mocked by all and rightly so as it did look a bit............ like it had been found in a toilet. joking aside the food tasted nice and i would return here and order this again. maybe changing the rice shape would be a good idea. staff were helpful and informative about the menu but we still didn't gamble and went for our safe katsu

Amazing vegan options and fantastic staff!!

It is remarkably sad what happened to Wagamama. The brand is unrecognizable anymore. The menu has completely changed and the portion size nearly shrinked in half. I thought it was only in one chain but the changes happened everywhere. They even changed the plates to make them smaller. At the end, we left still hungry after paying 40£ for food. Outrageous.

The prime example how staff makes a restaurant!! We ran into Wagamama in Coventry on Monday night before closing in last attempt to try to find hot food for a band rider. We had a list for a Japanese restaurant around a corner as the band wanted an independent small shop to spend their money on. Though their opening was till 10pm by 9.15pm the guy in the restaurant refused to serve us stating “ sorry they are cleaning the kitchen”…. So we swallowed our pride and went to Wagamama…. Not enough that they made sure their chef knew there might be a late order ( we had to run back to the venue to get food picked from Wagamama’s menu)….we also got food that was altered to try to match what the original “ Japanese Restaurant “ had on theirs….. A MASSIVE THANKS TO DIANA, for going way beyond her responsibilities for helping us out!!? Clearly a Wagamama brunch that is more authentic than the independent restaurant around the corner!!!! Highly recommended!!! Thank you again!!! You solved a big headache for us !!!

A really poorly executed katsu banana dessert. Full of oil and impossible to enjoy. The chef needs to learn the how to execute this dish. 100% NOT recommended.

Brilliant as usual, went when it was quite busy, so there was a short wait for a table for 5, but they accommodated us quickly, took our orders, and brought the food all within a reasonable time. The food was absolutely delicious, and not too pricey.

First time in this franchise, definitely will be trying again. Very tasty food, good advice from the very helpful staff.

Apart from the chili margarita the food was not great. I wouldn't go back personally. Gyōza came out cold and the ramen was mediocre. Nobody loved there for either and for the price you would expect more.

It's really good place if you want to go for a nice meal. The pay system forces you to pay a little extra but nothing out of this world.

I was first introduced to Wagamama about just over a year ago, and was instantly impressed by the atmosphere of the restaurant and the ambience. The lighting and area itself is so welcoming, and the staff are all very lovely upon entering and when taking your order. Another thing that impressed me was the menu. This place has a lot of hearty and warm meals so you never leave hungry! The presentation of the food is amazing as well. It looks very appetising and has lots of flavour. It is all very clean, including the toilets, and I am now a regular customer here. Due to inflation, my usual meal (chicken firecracker) has gone from £12 to £14, but I still pay the amount as I feel it is still totally worth it. On top of this, I do have an allergy and can say they deal with this excellently, as they instantly ask for any dietary requirements and then have the manager take your order, whilst the head chef ensures everything is cooked separately to prevent any of your food being made with something you are allergic to. Overall, I absolutely love this place and always recommend it to others as it is now my go-to :)

Yasai vegetable gyoza ramen, Tofu Risukaree, and mini yasai katsu curry were our orders. I'll give their Risukaree a 5/5 for the dish's balanced flavour, since all of the vegetables and seasonings blend wonderfully. The coconut cream gravy with a tinge of citrus was simply divine. The ramen's gyoza were wonderful, but the soup was only okay. I also enjoyed their katsu curry.

Food is always superb. My hubby has severe food allergies and they take it really seriously as the manager takes the order and the head chef cooks his food seperately from everything else. Drinks a bit expensive. Best restaurant in Cov.

Never been to any Wagamama before so thought would give it a go. Place was clean and tidy (including toilets) and the place had a nice vibe even on a Tuesday afternoon! Waiter explained that food would come out as it was ready not necessarily in order- glad he explained this or I may have questioned it. Food was good - husband hasn’t stopped talking about his ramen bowl!

Fair amount of seating when I was there (approx 3pm on a Saturday), fast service. If you want to eat alone you can easily get a table or sit at the bar. Food always tastes good, I like how you can scan the QR code and pay online. Toilets were not very clean when I was there. I had the Kare Borosu, it came quickly, and nice and hot.

Had a lovely meal here, staff were very friendly and the food was very quickly prepared and very tasty.

Second time at a Wagamama’s I must admit I enjoyed the food (opted for the Katsu Chicken Curry). The service was efficient for ordering but really annoying to get the food at different times, my Wife had finished her meal before I had even got mine! Also drinks were not given at the same time as the meal, not impressed 😡😡

I've yet to have a bad meal at Wagamama. The food is always spot on and the service is great too. I had the grilled duck donburi on this visit, which was just lush. Great place to go with friends.

Lovely place, ground flood, no stairs, however not exactly disabled friendly tho. furniture are like wood different varieties height. My son said is uncomfortable to sit. Overall food lovely and fresh for most of us first time in wagamana. Thank you for lovely experience xhugsx

I am very surprised there are not more people commenting or noticing the difference in the size of the veg / protein servings for the mains. It has been a while since I have been but the Firecracker portion must have been reduced by at least 50%. Rice portion remains the same and it now so disportion to actual main part of the dish. Looking through the pictures people have posted you can see the difference with amount of empty plate showing. Still delicious, but value for money has plummeted. Sign of the times now I suppose. It would be put me off having this for my dinner in future.
