First ever visit to Wagamama Southend with a group of friends. Food is very nice like other branch. Friendly staff.

Came through on a whim after our original dinner plans fell through. No wait for a table, Paul greeted us at the door and chatted to us warmly as we got settled in. Kristen served us our food and took us through new additions to the menu. A very friendly reception and a delicious bowl of chicken ramen!

Tasty food and menu explained by our lovely server Izzy, to a couple of newbies at the restaurant. It was a little noisy there with sound drifting up to first floor, where we were seated, from below. Great evening nevertheless.

To start off, due to Deliveroo not being able to take out certain things such as chilli oil🤦‍♀️ Me and my boyfriend called up Waggamammas Southend and asked if it were possible to remove this oil in the beef brisket ramen. I didn’t think it was so difficult as she sounded confident in the fact that it would have no chilli oil in it. We didn’t wait long for our food which is actually the only reasonable thing to this, once it arrives we instantly realised it did in fact contain this chilli oil. Is it really that difficult for them to not add it after being told? absolutely ridiculous. I then called up and the same women answered, I explained that the order did have chilli oil and she was snarky and quite oblivious to the fact that it was the one thing we asked the leave out. She said how she double checked with the chef, liar. I’m not happy and all I got was offered for me to order more food from them, not even a refund. I wish I got a lady’s name as she was not helpful and clearly not capable of getting one single task done. I would like to add I did spend over £30 on this order and requested one small ask. Below is the photo after I removed all the noodles, as you can see that’s not the colour of something that doesn’t have chilli oil in, people now a-days🤦‍♀️you can practically see the chilli flakes inside. She did say she thinks It would have been the kimchi mixing in but I have had it removed before and I mixed the kimchi in with the noodles and it still doesn’t taste at all spicy Waggamammas sort yourself out or give me my refund!

Brilliant meal - wagas is always super reliable and delicious! Kristen was a superb waitress and made for such a great host whilst we were dining. She made our visit to Southend Wagamama better than it’s ever been with her warm style and thoughtful attitude to go above and beyond. We’ll be back soon!

Had a lovely dinner with my dad tonight. Food is always 10/10. We had a lovely waitress called, Kristen, who was great. We had some good chats with the manager, Mary, who had a great sense of humour and recommended some of her favourites dishes and drinks to us. It really makes a difference when you have great service and Mary really made our evening by taking care of us tonight. Thank you so much and we will definitely keep coming back :)

Dissapointing, spent £55 on food, ramen had barely any stock and had no flavour, we finished eating and had to go cook as were still hungry

I visited to l with my daughter for Father's Day yesterday. Service was great, but the Chilli Beef Ramen was exceptional, it's my favourite meal ever (it's not on the menu any more, but you can ask for it and they'll do it). I'm sad about that.

Wagamamas tend to all blend into one, however the Southend branch stands out because of one man. The absolute G that is JAMIE!! Best waiter in the biz. He’s always so welcoming and chatty, a real character that adds that personal touch to great customer service. In a world where we are quick to complain, let’s give praise where it’s due!Hats off to you Sir 👊

We came for the good food but when we got there we got something much better: meeting Jamie. He’s the manager of the restaurant. He came to us and we had the nicest conversation ever. He made us feel so welcomed and we had an amazing time. We brought some take away boxes because we read online that you can have a side for free if you do that. Jamie gave us the most expensive side that we had for free. He is one of the nicest people I’ve met in England (I’m German) and when we left we said we wish he was our friend. If you‘re looking for a great evening with excellent service, this is the place.

I am a regular customer at the wagamamas in Southend but today was definitely my best experience foodwise- that’s to the great help Matteo gave me and my husband on what to get. I tried numberous new foods from there new variety on the menu and loved all. Matteo very kind and helpful and checked up on how we enjoyed are meals multiple times making the experience even more comforting, thank you

Paid £14.50 for a dish that had two tiny prawns. Ridiculous. How can they justify such service. We were refunded £8 but that was due to the fact we'd finished the mains and were still waiting for a starter. Waitress was friendly and deserves a better review.

The restaurant was ridiculously hot, we asked them To turn the heating down, to be told the air cons on.I had to leave to take my son home as he was so hot and felt uncomfortable and didn’t eat he’s dinner .Dissapointing to leave the food as we spend £120.not impressed.Also the kids option is very limited Now which is disappointing. The squid wow, so tough . really not impressed,we used to come as a family for a treat night out, but for the price the food was mediocre .Shame as it used to be very good.

Visited for a late lunch after walking past. I was welcomed in by Stacey who made sure to said she would be with me in a moment, she then seated me and helped me with my order and payment. Stacey was very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant.

First time here on Saturday - lovely experience - food ordered was very tasty (I had the Mixed Mushroom Buns followed by the Chicken & Prawn Yaki Soba which went down so well I could have easily ordered seconds, if not for major food regret the next day!). To placate my appetite, I finished off with a portion of their White Chocolate & Ginger Cheesecake. The serving staff were friendly and attentive, and the toilets were super clean with each cubicle set up like a mini cloakroom with their own sink/hand wash facility. The restaurant also provided a nifty payment option by way of a quick bar code scan at the end of your meal. Will definitely be making a return visit 🍜

So nice to have this restaurant in southend. Some friends and I had dinner there tonight and as always the food was very yummy. The staff are really friendly from the time we walked in the door everyone was super welcoming and friendly. Our server was Izzy she was very attentive she made a great recommendation for dessert she knew the menu the macho custard was delish. We could see she was very busy but nothing was too much for her to get us.10 out of 10 for her service! Thanks for a lovely evening!

Had a lovely experience with my partner for dinner, the food was amazing and the customer service was pristine, izzy our waitress was very helpful and kind which made the evening that touch better!

I chose the GF option, and it arrived 35 minutes after my colleagues' food (normal food) 😅. I was greeted with 'Gluten Free - so you're the difficult one when you're out.' I was not impressed. I was informed that other tickets took priority over mine due to the grill that needed a special clean. Fair enough. Due to kitchen challenges, the manager let me ear for free. Thankyou. A lengthy wait, though, the food tasted really good.

Had a lovely meal on Saturday night..great food..but what really made our evening was our server…Izzy. Absolute star who served us with a smile, was super helpful & polite..so nice to be served by someone who was happy to do the job..nothing was too much trouble for her. An absolute star 🌟

Had this for the first time, as my friends had raved about it. Was not impressed, the only thing that was nice was the duck gyozas, think that's how you spell it. But the ramen was watered-down or was dish water, not nice. Will definitely not be going back. Note this was a takeaway, so couldn't complain at the time.

My daughter and I have been extremely sick so we ordered Wagamama's to take away. The manager Mary was wonderful and provided an excellent service and delicious ramen. We are very thankful for their service and will be returning once fully recovered to enjoy more of their food!

Went today with a few friends and the service was incredible. Kristen was great and the food came out really fast.

Not good food was awful Ordered soba noodles which was supposed to come with prawns and chicken a few tiny pieces. We’re found my husband had the chicken curry Chicken nuggetts with sticky white rice and some sort of gloop which was curry sauce poured over. No not a good experience so if you want to eat out I definitely would not recommend Wagammas

Mary was wondering and very sympathetic when I didn’t enjoy my drink and was happy to get another one. She made the experience a lot more lovable.

Brilliant, friendly staff that will happily make accommodations for my kids whose tastes are plainer than plain. They have the kiddy chopsticks and colouring for the kids. A really great place for families. Food is lovely too!

Came to wagas for a early birthday meal with my fiance and her friend! Food was absolutely amazing i tried the chicken hotpot which manager Rachel says it got a kick and it defo did! Rachel was absolutely fantastic and checked on us to make sure everything thing was perfect which made our night so much better!! Thank you waga team!

Went here for a lunch with gal pals, 1st time & definitely going back. Had steamed buns and the donburi teriyaki chicken, was bliss!

They are friendly. In July, I went there with my in laws. It was my birthday. we were 6 of us. We ordered a lot of food and as they serve food in different times somehow my order was delayed to the point I had asked. However it seemed like something was missed and when I spoken to the manager, she was just amazing! Acknowledged the problem, my food was served. They checked few times. I did say it was my birthday and I was sad that my food was delayed. To my surprise they went beyond and didn't charge me for my food and they brought a small cake, sang Happy Birthday! It was special and I was so happy.

Such lovely staff at this Wagamamas, but the delivery of the food to the table is so chaotic. It was a busy night, and you could see that. Me and my partner had our orders taken promptly after being sat, and drinks arrived quickly! The food, on the other hand, was very different. Lots of takeaway orders being made whilst we waited, but peoples orders in the restaurant seemed VERY slow. After about 20-25 minutes, my partners food arrived. I was told mine was being prepared. About 20-25 minutes later, my partner had finished their meal, and neither my food or side dish had arrived. Our waitress (who was very accommodating and apologetic), asked me if I still hadn't recieved my food and went to check on it. Another very apologetic member of staff came over to our table and profusely apologised to me and offered a discount due to the amount of time I had been waiting. The food arrived, and was okay, definitely not as good as the last time I had it. Overall, I get the impression that this Wagamamas gets an influx of take-away orders which take priority, and people who sit in the restaurant for a meal get a bit neglected (food service wise). Long waits and friends finishing their meals before your own arrives just isn't really acceptable. I saw more takeaway orders being cooked and made up as opposed to dishes being made/served for in-house customers during the time of our visit. It looks exhausting for the limited number of chefs and can't be sustainable for the popularity of this particular restaurant.

Well ! We’ve been to many of the chain restaurants. How bad is the service in Southend; terrible. Ordered a beer…20 mins later still waiting. Only 2 of us!!! Service terrible, slow and disorganised. Walked out. Not what you expect of this chain. Never again.

Wagamamas in Southend is a nice venue with very friendly staff and good service. I have been to several wagamamas in England and all have been good. I really like the beef domburi but lots of nice food on the menu. May be a little expensive for some people as the dishes usually comprise of rice/noodles with something but it's tastes good.😋

Rachel our server was amazing! I unfortunately I don’t eat meat and I had only tried one dish which has been my favourite for years but it was removed from the menu sadly. But Rachel was able to recommend so many good options and her and the chef helped customise a dish for me. I had Kare Burosu with vegan teriyaki chicken. It was almost identical to my fav dish if not better :) my partner had the grilled chicken and loved it. Rachel was so lovely and welcoming, definitely will be coming again for another date night Thankyou Xx

Was seated straight away and given the booth that I requested. The food was delicious, it was served promptly and was cooked well, I really enjoyed it. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Our server was a lady with a blonde straight haired bob (sorry, I don’t know her name) and she was lovely. She was chatty, helpful and generally just lovely. We were also given a free small sample of the ginger and white chocolate cheesecake which was delicious. I never normally have dessert in Wagamamas but I definitely will next time!

27-Aug-2023 - My first visit to Wagamama, Southend-on-Sea. Besides the food (high-quality), extremely satisfied with the way how the working professionals at the restaurant greeted and served. Whenever they came to my table, they showed a smile which in turn gave good positive vibes. HOPING TO VISIT ONCE A WEEK AS LONG AS I LIVE IN THE UK.

Service was 10/10. We came for fire cracker prawn but they had no prawns so as a sub they gave us alternative with some extras for free to compensate. Warning though fire cracker is very hot so be prepared 🤣

Worst Wagamama's I've ever been to. Been to plenty around the UK. Been to this one for third and last time now. Every single time one of the meals comes out after everyone else has completely finished their meal. They must do it on purpose. Won't be open long and everyone will have to go back to working at Adventure Island.

Last night a few of my work colleagues went to Wagamamas in Southend for a team night out and made a few cocktails, had some sides and dinner and it was so much fun! Jaz really welcomed us when we came in, she was super friendly and told us all about the cocktails we were going to be making and gave us some options for sides that we may like once we told her the sort of things we enjoy. We all tried something new and loved it! In particular the Duck and Pork Gyozas were delicious / The Bang Bang Cauliflower was soo lovely and the kick from it was just enough! The drinks we made were all so different none the same which was really nice to have that variety! My personal favourite was the Grapefruit Gin! What a beautiful drink 🙌🏻 Dinners we all had different things from Steak Soba, Tofu Pad Thai, Chicken & Prawn Pad Thai and Soulful Bowls! We all had such a blast and really good time together we will definitely be back!

Great food and excellent service. My 76 year old mum was given a free desert for her birthday. Matteo was an attentive server. Highly recommended

It wasn’t very busy but the places was noise the food took ages ,and arrive luke warm . My ice tea taste of water not even a hint of peach . Pad Thai was meant to have chicken and prawn they was 2 prawns and little bit of chicken and not a lot of noodle . For the price it wasn’t value for money .

I went here for a bday lunch and the duck gyoza was phenomenal! The waitress informed me that there was a bell for the accessible entrance and next time, just ring it but I wasn't waiting too long anyway. They offer wheelchair accessible seating and the toilet is spacious and the doors are not heavy to push/pull yourself through. The lychee Collins was delicious and the squid was amazing! Definitely felt I could return here, even alone the staff were friendly and made me feel welcome. They have a gluten free menu, but not much and as mine is an intolerance I took the risk.

Even though I had just a starter, it was good. Same reaction was given by my friends. Although sounds of a child crying can be abit distracting, I was not bothered by it and considered the atmosphere for this Japanese-style restaurant amazing and beautiful.

Been here for lunch, family with a toddler, and staff were kind and attentive, food was delicious and environment relaxing, as music was not loud at all.

Best Shou Shok chicken I've had in any Wagamama, cooked perfectly by Joe and served with a smile by Eve.

Our server; Eve , was extremely polite, professional and very noticeably a hard worker. Extremely happy with the service she gave us. Will definitely make a return.

Ate here in January. Staff were lovely so they get 5 stars but the organization is terrible. I’ve been going to Wagamama since it’s opening in the Uk and I know food comes out separately. But there’s a limit to how long I’m willing to wait. My friend got theirs first and it was 45 minutes later I got mine. That’s just unacceptable. I was ready to just walk out at that point. Need better cooks clearly. Who know how tontine food a little better.

I had the beef brisket ramen and got food poisoning. I was violently ill and I am sure it was the ramen as it was the only thing I had eaten all day. Was nice at the time lol but won't be back for a while

Had a meal here at 4.30 on a Sunday so wasn't sure what the atmosphere would be like...if any ! Was really surprised, nice buzz and really good food as always. The 2 girls looking after us Rachel and Steph were amazing, a credit to wagamamas. Bright and all smiles, attentive without being too much. Brilliant service girls, thank you so much.

Food was really good. Sadly, the service did not meet the quality of the food. Lots of staff buzzing around, and I am sure they are doing something, but not taking a drink order when we arrived. 20 minutes before I managed to pull someone to get drinks. As I say, food was really good. Why would you not see empty glasses and ask if we would like anymore drinks? Never even offered a sweet at all. Truthfully, couldn’t wait to get out of there. Staff seemed like nice people, but there seemed like no direction being offered. Won’t be going back K & J
