Really yummy food! We had jerk chicken and rice with peas and veggies- all really fresh and om nom noms. Johnny made a coleslaw fresh even though he'd run out. What a sweetie! We'll be back again soon! Thanks J 🌸💖

We had curry goat with rice and peas, curry goat with roti, plaintan and sorrel. The food was delicious!! Goat a little too salty for me but full of great flavours. So enjoable! Johnny gave great service and a chat. We are from London and good Caribbean take aways are hard to find. Pay no attention to what you see on the menu on line, go in and find out for yourself what's on offer. Great Southend find and will go back again!!

The chicken soup with salt fish fritters …. On a rainy cold day like today, this chicken soup is the best I’ve had in along time!! Will be back for more soup!!

Great place and not many like it for miles

Small place but big on authenticity of the food and quality. 2nd time here and the food has been tasty both times. The man behind the bar guessing is the owner is so pleasant to talk to. Will be going back again.

Came today and unfortunately I was too early as curry goat was not quite ready. In the end I decided to go for the jerk chicken. Tend to prefer curry goat over jerk chicken as I prefer the more savoury flavours over the sweet bbq type Caribbean grill dishes, however have to say it was absolutely delicious. It’s clear Johnny the owner has and still does work very hard. It’s a great little place with great selection of authentic carribbean dishes which represent jamaican culture which I imagine must be hard to keep prepped up with. Thankyou

Drove 15 mins from Leigh-On-Sea. While the food was tasty I found that the large arkee & salt fish with rice and peas for £11 was a bit stingy. It seemed just enough for a normal meal and not a large.

Very disappointed in my takeaway lastnight, over priced for what you get. Curry goat was full of salt salt fish patties not "patties" as stipulated mean 1 rubbery greasy pattie and the coleslaw was the size of a dip. Unfortunately wont be going back here again. £28.00 not well spent. UPDATE : 22ND FEBRUARY 2022. Absolutely disgusting food I'm going to bring this back to the shop minus my friends food who took it back to London.

Rude bloke, and always gets the prices wrong (upwards mind you), I've stopped coming here anymore after being treated rudely and overcharged. The food was better with the other cook anyway 🤷

Come here often best curried goat around and the jerk wings are amazing

First time here on first entrance clean and tidy. The owner was clean and tidy, uniform excellent condition. good customer service skills, foods excellent to eat. Good portion you get for your money. Table and chairs clean. Restaurant floor clean. Beautiful growing plants.will be coming back soon 😀

Very clean little restaurant. Even though it is promoted as a take away, it does have three tables to sit down - you will need to pay £1 extra to dine in. I had the large jerk chicken with rice and peas (lovely gungo peas this time). accompanied by mixed steam vegetables with some fried plantain that you will need to pay for. Extremely clean environment with everything Jamaican/Caribbean. The person who served me, possibly the boss, was cool and didn'tkeep me waiting to be acknowledged. I recommend this place.

Paid £7 for two patties, 1 fried chicken and coco bread. Absolutely disgusting pattie tasted like it was warmed up in the mircowave so chewy on the pastry consistency NOT crunchy as should be. The coco bread was not included in my order which I paid for and my goodness the chicken was old. Not being funny fried chicken should have a crunch, upon opening the box it was covered in some sort of bbq sauce I question why upon tasting I knew exactly why... The chicken was old, rubbery and as for taste left a foul taste in mt mouth... I never write reviews like this but I am so disappointed and annoyed as a shop you need to do better... The sky is your limit but dont mug people off!
