Wagamama in Peterborough

Love the food Service hmm, cleared plates while some of us were still eating, not offered more drinks or dessert, just paid on qr code & left

Second time going to Wagamamas, first time was better than this time. Was seated fast and everything was explained to us we ordered drinks, starters and mains however drinks came after mains which was weird bit not really a problem. Servers were friendly, food was appetising but did not taste as good as the first time however the chicken gyoza starter was quite scrumptious. Was seated in a good place not too close too anyone and the lights improved the atmosphere dramatically and made the setting calmer. Overall not too bad but was not up to standard and may not return due to the poor food standard.

UPDATE: I have now visited 3 times, the first time was clearly a fluke - the second time was really poor, despite not being busy plenty of staff were floating around they avoided my attempts to get there attention, I was waiting ten minutes between courses. The third time was even worse, 20 minutes after finishing my main and taking my plate the staff purposely avoided me, even laughing and playing on phones. AVOID Just had a meal here, I rarely say this but everything was perfect. The service was exceptional: attentive, fast (but not in a way that makes you feel rushed). The food was delicious, I usually have the same dish each time (katsu curry and a cheesecake for dessert) and this was spot on in every way. I am just visiting Peterborough, I live near London and have visited many of the branches there, this was actually better - a genuinely top notch experience. I will be back in Peterborough soon, I WILL be returning to this restaurant.

This was our first visit to any Wagamama. Very fast service and first meal arrived at table within 10 mins of order. Kids meals were excellent. That's where the positives end. The meats on all meals were ridiculously overcooked and like leather to the point I couldn't eat the chicken. The raven bowl was ridiculously overpriced for what looked like half a chicken breast, a bowl of noodles which again were overcooked and a bowl full of bland, tasteless stock. My wife had the tepanyaki noodles which were better but the duck was again overcooked and very chewy. Overall 63 quid for 2 adult and 2 kids meals and a round of drinks. Overpriced and under delivered on quality of food. Honestly would have been better spending half what we did at a local chineese takeaway. We won't be returning.

Regularly go there to have fish, cause the veg and sauces are something 😍 explosion of taste in your mouth. The healthy juices! Love the beetroot one, highly recommend.

Always good food, service friendly and helpful. Good layout. Ate here 16/9. Terrible fried noodles, the chef had no idea how to cook noodles. They burnt them, and then they served the dish.

Oli and Ala were amazing and gave the best service I’ve ever received at a Wagamama’s. They made the whole experience amazing with a genuinely lovely welcome and constantly checking in on us. They are both amazing

Tasty refreshing meal great ambience and attentive staff

Well this is my second trip here, this time during the day 🙂. Drinks are amazing. I had the ginger no-jito as I'm driving and I a constant supply of green tea (which is free if you haven't been) and such a nice pallete cleanser between courses. Started with the pancho apple and belly pork, and a grilled chicken ramen for main. Can't fault the service or cleanliness of the place.

Overpriced fast food in my opinion. Rather spend same money at authentic local Chinese or Thai to support independents. Not for me, but my kids love it.

Service was quick, as soon as we said we had an allergy we were immediately accommodated. Out server was Ala and they were polite, informative and allergen aware. The food was to die for would definitely recommend the bao buns, mains were colourful, fresh and crunchy and very aesthetic. Please see below for the adhd drinks. 10/10 would recommend.

Lovely welcoming staff, spotlessly clean restaurant and the best tasting salad ever. It's a pity the dressing isn't available to purchase by the bottle as I would eat salad every day!

Always a good spot to eat. Always have the chicken & prawn don buri, the missus likes the pork belly ramen. Favourite sides are crispy chilli squid, chicken gyozas & edemame beans

Bit of a miss this visit. Seated quickly, we had come as part of a celebration. The staff were abrupt, distant and rude. I had the vegan Katsu due to the chicken version is fried with the seafood, so be aware if you have allergies. I was disappointed as it tasted bland. We sat for ages for someone to clear and ask if we wanted dessert. I ordered the new cheesecake which was awful, burnt and gritty, I absolutely do not recommend. We had the new sparkly app to collect stamps and low and behold it did not work. Now I have to contact another team to hopefully add the stamps back! Not a great experience.

Mine and my partners favourite place!! Such amazing food and staff are incredible and so polite! Definitely recommend, it’s our go to all the time and never ever fails. They also have the option for you to pay for your meal via a QR code on the table and if not can still ask for the bill.

Great food. Always taste the same. Katsu Curry is a must.

Me, my sisters and my mum went for a meal here last night and we had a blast! Although the wait was a little longer than expected the food and service made up for it! We were served by Mitch and he was an absolute delight! Made us all smile and laugh… absolutely brilliant customer service, super helpful and checked in on us a couple of times which was appreciated! Thank you Mitch… definitely recommend this Wagamama’s because of that service! +++

Any Wagamamas are excellent. This one’s no different! Great Asian cuisine with an ever evolving menu. Rustic industrial feeling interior. Minimal outdoor seating but in the middle of Peterborough you probably wouldn’t sit there. Right in Peterborough centre and really close to queensgate. closest parking charges you but wasn’t too expensive last time I went. 5 stars from me. Love to come here.

Food was amazing, service fast and friendly. It was too loud for me but overall was super.

Really nice food. Staff was a bit slow comparing how many people was there. Menu was renewed, I have taken thai beef salad. It was nicely preserved steak was cooked medium rare as i like, they didnt asked how i want it to be cooked but got it just right 😊 salads and sauce was really good. Also i've tryed this new asahi beer with lime and syrup taste good but i dont think its worth the price. All in all happy with it 🙂

This has to be our favourite restaurant chain and we're so glad there's one in Peterborough! The food is consistently high quality and as a customer with disabilities, my needs were met. If you love Japanese food, like me, their asian inspired cuisine is a delight!

A truly excellent dining experience. I've eaten in other Wagamama restaurants before but this one seems better than others. Perhaps it's due to the warm weather lol. Excellent all round.

Located ideally in the heart of Peterborough, very easy to access. The calm and serene atmosphere. Very professional staff that offer excellent service. Delicious food - and the order is delivered promptly too. I highly recommend you check them out when next you are in Peterborough.

Went to the Cathedral coffee shop not Wagamama

The food, as always, was amazing duck buns especially!! Ala is an amazing manager and all the waiters/waitresses are doing an amazing job

Do you wanna dine like kings and queens? Do you want the service of a lifetime? Well you have to try Wagamama!! All the food was to die for honestly I’m not even exaggerating my death row meal would be from wagas it is perfection I want to die on a bed of duck buns and wok fried greens!! Plus Ala is a bloody G I love her so much such a kind hearted person love you angel x

Two of us pooped in for lunch. We opted for chicken Katsu salads, bang bang cauliflower and chicken skewers. Service and food were excellent, as is always our experience here. Only one suggestion, the wooden skewers were covered with the sticky sauce, perhaps try and keep them clean as impossible to eat without getting all over your fingers.

Quick service, friendly staff and great food! Drinks take longer than the food for some reason, but still come pretty quick. Can be quite chilly by the door if it's busy and lots of people are in and out, so if you' re the kind of person that this would bother then ask for a seat further in on a busy evening.

Would highly recommend ,all staff was very friendly and welcoming , didn't get to know all their names however one of the waitress's Vanessa did an exceeding job . Food was also delicious. The whole family loved the food and service .

Served straight away, food arrived quickly too. We liked it except for the chicken... It was the thigh meat and not breast. For a nice meal the breast should of been used... I wouldn't of ordered it if I knew. But other than that it was all ok

Never had a bad experience here. Me and my dad go at least twice every month and not once was there an issue with the food or staff. Staff are friendly and the service is fantastic!

Good to be able to depend on chains of restaurants - and Wagamama is no exception. All three of us enjoyed the food and service.

Don't get the chicken soup, noodles taste like £1 noodles from Europol, the chicken was dry and the soup in general had no flavour, wouldn't recommend.

My first visit in Peterborough had lunch here at Wagamama and my experience shows in my star review. The ramen was good I’d recommend the pork belly one but the service was even better. Shout out to Victor, one of the staff for looking after us from the moment we stepped foot in the restaurant.

Love it here and so does my 6 year old! Good food and reasonably priced. Perfect for a girly lunch date, dinner with kids or any dinner really!

Lovely restaurant, vegan ribs are really delicious (I am not a vegan), as was the vegan lomen I had. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Awesome date night at the Peterborough branch, we were politely welcomed and swiftly seated by Clayton (nice hair) had our orders and requests taken by Oliwia (nice to see you back) and had our food cooked to perfection by Ala. (Compliments to the chef) 👌

Tonight I was served by Oliwia and Clayton and were really pleased. The service was really friendly, alongside helpful advice on the vegan menu. They made the experience a delight :-) Also a shout out to Ala who was in the kitchen and was awesome at ensuring no spice in my dish… thank you!

Over all love wagamamas but last time I went I was very disappointed in the chili squid. As it’s my favourite and always get it when I go, I know what they’re meant to be like. When I went on 29.12.23 they were very over cooked. Too crunchy and too chewy. It was like eating rubber with a crispy coating on it. It made me want to ask if the chef was okay over cooking it so much.

I highly recommend the Wagamama restaurant. Today I celebrated a family celebration at Wagamama and we are very pleased. Very good food, varied menu, professional service, especially Ms Alicja. I highly recommend Wagamama to everyone!!!!

Came for a family Birthday meal (4 of us) but was surprised at the incredibly poor service, really is disappointing as I’ve been here several times over the years. I thought it might be busy this close to Christmas but the restaurant was not even half full. Initially ignored as we arrived. After ordering one of our meals came out 15 minutes before anyone else’s, then a second, but it was at least 25 minutes before we all had our food (it was 3 bowls of ramen and some noodles, Wagamama staple dishes) and really negated the point of gong to eat together as there was such a gap between the food coming out. The waitress tried to explain this was the Wagamama experience! This just felt patronising as I know this s not the case. To be fair they asked f anything could be done to rectify the situation and did give a discount but unfortunately the whole experience soured my opinion of this restaurant

I’ve been here several times in recent months and i can say i haven’t been disappointed. the atmosphere is great and i like the layout out of the room. The food is amazing, although i have the same thing most times i am never disappointed. They are very accommodating to allergies and helped me when i asked about what i could eat. I would highly recommend

My first time at Wagamama. Superb! Don't askme the na Mes but it was exciting food!

We had teriyaki soba and ramen which we were both very disappointed with, we got gin and tonics and our drinks were horrible. We ordered green tea which was cold. Never been so underwhelmed by a Wagamamas before …. Normally enjoy the food and drinks. Staff were friendly and quick to seat us. The chilli squid we had was lovely

We had our joint 70th birthday lunch here. We were lucky enough to have Isadora as our server. Not only was she friendly and welcoming but she was also very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks and was happy to offer her suggestions as to What we would like. She kept a discreet observation on us and made sure we were enjoying our meal. My husband 'won' a free pudding, for which Isadora again offered a suggestion, which he happily chose. Our overall experience was excellent, and we are returning this Friday 1st Dec to continue our birthday celebrations.

The next Frankie and bennys? Gone downhill rapidly. As a gochujang lover I was looking forward to the new chicken gochujang rice dish. Wow was I disappointed. A few, and I mean a few, pieces of unseasoned grilled chicken with 1 or 2 red chilli flakes on and a bowl of white rice. Not a single taste of gochujang. The yaki soba, normally a staple, was also horrid, dried up and the whole dish just tasted strongly of mushroom and nothing else. Sort it out!

Prices are well above reasonable. Ordered firecracker prawn curry and mainly ate vegetables, I counted 4 prawns if that, and they are charging 15 pound for this dish. Disgraceful. How can they charge 15 pound for such little food. Won't be going back, or recommending.

Lovely, delicious and tasty street food in a relaxing setting, served by very friendly and nice staff. The hotpot is recommended, as are the fresh juice cocktails. Lovers of Asian (street) food cannot ignore this nice restaurant.

A group of us had dinner here. We had various dishes, beef rice bowl, Katsu salad. Pad Thai and some vegan options. Service and food were excellent, as is always our experience here.

Foods not that great and poor service

Typical Wagamama- food fresh and good but some portion sizes could be bigger. Well, 5 years later and we're still visiting. Food portions seem a but more substantial now and the selection of dishes is extensive. Presentation and flavour is very good. Staff are all friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic.

Very nice and tasty noodles 🍜 yummy yummy 😋 and lovely atmosphere and prices for my girlfriend and mine dinner 🍽 😋 yummy and tap water 🚰 and customer service is brilliant

The food is always outstanding and when is not high standards the staff always help you in getting new dish. Today I was complimented by waiter Renata with 2 x £15 vouchers because it’s my birthday 🤭 I have been a loyal customer for several months and always feel very welcome 🙏🏻

Wagamamas was our first date and 6 years later we still go for special dates. Amazing staff, amazing food and amazing restaurant. Rose petal gin as well is now my ultimate favourite!

Most of time ready to wait in line by the door. Waiting time from 5-15 min. Food is alright and usually really fast comes to your table. Easy to pay by scaning qr code.

Would recommend this place when in Peterborough, super friendly staff that are always eager to help, the food is amazing and tasty with a lot of vegetarian options, the prices depend on what you get, I recommend getting a good large starter rather than a smaller one but overall the prices are decent. The atmosphere is great very lively and modern decoration. The seats are fairly comfortable.

Great Ramen. Beer a bit expensive. But lovely food, friendly waitress and staff. And the Chicken Ramen was extremely tasty. Served with chopsticks and a fork and spoon. Well lit and a good atmosphere lots of young people, a great selection of dishes. Would like to try the gyozo next time.

I have been here many times and it is definitely a go to restaurant now with friends and family. Every time I've been there the food has been delicious, hot and quick to serve. The staff are always friendly and welcoming as well. The actual restaurant bit depending where you get sat, especially in the booths will feel like you aren't even in Peterborough. It's great! I highly recommend having any of the Raman dishes and a side of chilli squid, it's so good! Worth a visit, you won't regret it!

We’ve gone here twice recently as a couple, and have been seated quickly. There waitresses were quick and helpful. The food is always fresh and tasty. Never disappointed! It’s a very nice environment to be in, although it can be quite loud at times. I would highly recommend going if you haven’t gone yet, you won’t be disappointed!

Foods no where near as good as it used feel like the recipies have changed, but service was good.

Not happy with the situation the Restaurant Group has caused in Peterborough no Frankies and Benny's now or Chiquito's and all the seem to be able to do is send me an email telling me my nearest Chiquito's is now in Northampton which is nearly an hour away or Frankies and Benny's, it seems they have closed all the Frankies and Benny's in East Anglia.

First visit to Wagamamas, in the main nothing bad to write about, service was excellent, well looked after by staff, restaurant looks great, in fact everything I would expect from a restaurant, however.. for me there are many eateries in Peterborough that are able to offer more for your money with what’s on offer on the menu, on the back of that unfortunate don’t think I’ll be visiting again

The food was average, the service was horrible the mains came before the starters, we were a group o 6 and the food did not arrived together, I asked for medium rare steak and was cooked well done so had to send it back, the waitress was covered in face piercings running the risk of dropping into the customers plate, overall experience was bad.
