Violet's Cafe in Selby

Went for an outing to Selby today and called into violet's cafe for a bite. We were made very welcome and what a lovely place I loved the decoration even the toilet was well presented with butterflies. It bought back memories of our trip to Krakow.. My husband had a large breakfast and I had the small one the presentation was very good and was a lovely breakfast and there was plenty with 2 slices of toast.. If we are in the area again we will certainly go again.. thank you

Lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. Nicely decorated and child friendly with table service. We had their half size all-day breakfast which was cooked well and nicely presented. The coffee was good too. Will visit there again the next time we are in Selby. Very convenient for the shops.

Auf dem Weg zum Flughafen sind wir hier noch zum frühstücken gewesen. Zwei von uns hatten ein englisches Frühstück und waren sehr zufrieden. Zwei weitere hatten das Frühstück mit Lachs und Avocado und waren auch zufrieden. Ich hatte das Egg Benedict was im Prinzip auch lecker war, allerdings mag ich die Eier lieber weich und das waren sie leider nicht. Auch die pochierten Eier beim Lachs waren nicht weich (dies nur als Information).

Chose to try Violet's as a venue to meet up with a friend, neither of us had been there before. Went at 1pm and was very quiet - only one other couple in there and no-one else came in after us. Inside was small but clean, cosy and pleasantly decorated. Plentiful and varied menu choices, all reasonably priced. We both chose paninis, which were nicely presented with an accompanying salad and tasted good, but the lattes we ordered weren't as hot as they could have been. Both staff members were pleasant and attentive. The only negative thing about our visit was that as we had gone there to have a "catch-up", our time was very limited. The café advertises closing time as 3pm but were asked just before 2pm if we would be wanting more drinks as the coffee maker was about to be cleaned and then, at 2.15pm, were told that the café was about to close so had to leave abruptly, which was extremely disappointing and made us question whether or not we would return in the future.

Made an order on just eat, food came warm and here for the time required. Nice food and friendly service which is unusual these days.

Called in last minute with my daughter, we both decided on the all day breakfast, and was not disappointed, good quality products, nice presentation, service really good, lovely customer service, nice clean and warm place, first time in here, it will definitely not be our last.

Went with some friends who’d been once before and what a surprise. It’s hidden away on a back street and looks small from the outside but it’s not, it’s big inside but warm and cosy. My friend had a wheelchair and there was no problem getting in and seated. We had a variety of food and drinks, all fantastic no exaggeration. The lady serving was so polite. The place was spotlessly clean even though they were quite busy. All the food that passed to go to other customers looked delicious. I will definitely go again!
