Violet Chippy in Hillingdon

I waited over 45mins for my food which was 4 jumbo sausage and chips ( for the kids) and kebab and chips for myself. “Special notes” was added to keep the salad and sauce separate for kebab which I’ve ALWAYS done cause it makes the kebab cold. Only for my food to arrive incomplete and fulfilled wrong, kebab doused with sauce and salad, and 4 jumbo sausages. They did not resolve it I sent the driver back with the food. I called the restaurant the lady said that I hadn’t ordered what I did which clearly I did and noticed the driver had taken my receipt off the bag! Anyway no refund was issued as you can see it’s now 22.54 and have to now pay again to get my kids feed AT THIS TIME! I’ll never order from here again id rather chew glass! FYI THEIR KEBAB AINT THAT GREAT

I am horrified ! Initially asked if they are halal to which they responded no ! Fair enough, was about to order cheesy chips when they said we use pork oil to fry the chips ! Are they for real, that’s disgusting! They were 2 Indian staff members who told them, I asked if they were vegetarian and they said yes ! Then asked would you eat chips from here they said they would ! I game disgusted, they are using pork oil and selling to people who can’t eat pork and also selling to vegetarians ! Please avoid this place if you are vegetarian or only eat halal !! Disgusting

Just been to the newly refurbished chippy, and I’ve got to say—it’s top-tier. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the customer service is spot on—friendly and attentive. Tried a few different items off the menu, and every single one was cooked to perfection. Fresh, tasty, and absolutely worth it. Definitely my new go-to!

Fish had thick soggy batter again, the fish inside was ok. This happened on our last order. The batter used to be light and crispy. A number of bones in the were in the fish.

The food was cold and not what ordered. No way to contact the restaurant as the phone line is not operable

Edit: 4 years later I went again and remarkable improvement, it was very good. Original:If you like a big chunky bit of skin hiding under the batter in your fish and chips then this is the place for you.

Ordered Lamb Doner, chips & salad and Cod & chips both were very tasty and hot when they arrived. Violet Chippy never let’s us down with food quality & service. Thank you.

Undergoing refurbishment but still open - takeaway only. Fish, chips and kebabs. Food okay to good. Friendly staff. No hot drinks. Close to Hillingdon Hospital. Keen prices for London so above average for that.

Food never arrived, never answered phone. 2 hours later I’m still waiting. Last time I’ll ever order from this place!

Visited few days ago and to be honest my experience was really bad. I went to gave my order and lady on the till(reception) was on the phone with someone talking with them via AirPods in the ear. I told her what I want to have but her brain was someplace else. Whenever I spoke she didn’t seem to understand English and saying Sorry again and again. So I got the idea that she doesn’t understand English and talk to her in Punjabi (her and my mother tongue) then she understands what I am saying. I mean what’s there difficulty to understand in someone ordering large fish with salt & vinegar on chips ?? Anyways apart from her language barrier her behaviour against her own staff was very rude. Rudely telling them what to do/what not to do. It seems like she was arrogant at the at-most level. Summing up, if the owner takes reviews in consideration please teach her how to behave and the language barrier gap by enhancing her skills and English or change the staff but as they say who am I to give you advice. It’s your business do whatever you want. I’m just writing a review on google…

The kebab was awful only big chunk of chicken no lettuce no tomato no cucumber no onion just the meat.

When i ordered the food was supposed to arrive in about an hour… but arrived 35 minutes later than this too.. food was cold and the batter around the fish became soggy and stuck to the wrapping. The mushy peas were spoilt and tasted rancid.

arrived 1 hour after estimated delivery time, they don't bother to answer the phone, and then it arrives cold. as they don't answer phone had to drive to shop to request a refund.

It's a Friday night, so a delay in delivery isn't particularly unacceptable. Great food, as always.

Ordered off uber eats, they said it will be delivered before 21.55pm when I rung them at that time the lady who. Answered the phone had. Told. Me it was an uber eats. Driver who took the food to be delivered however the app says they used their own drivers. Tried explain that to them however they was rude and hung up the phone. Nearly 40 quid down the drain😡 now gotta try get a refund. Do not order from here.

Ordered on just eat, showed no sign of food getting prepared. Checked online to see shop was closed. Rang incase this was not the case. No one answered any phone calls. Went to get different food as shop still not answering at 5.15pm.food was on door

Food was of poor quality on this occasion, chips over cooked, kebab looked like it had bed dropped on the floor then scooped up and chucked in the pita bread. What was Edable was cold.

Always fresh chips and the Plaice is cooked to order absolutely lovely

The restaurant said the driver was leaving in 10 minutes but this was already after the latest time it should have already been delivered by. The food was cold and pretty much inedible and we were missing a portion of 18 chicken nuggets. I will never use this restaurant again and would advise friends and family to avoid this restaurant also.

Pakora cod was delicious, as was the scampi. Everything was hot and freshly cooked.

My order was late and I ordered 2 kebabs,chips and curry sauce and got someone else’s order which was two sausages and chips and that wasn’t even cooked properly didn’t even eat it chucked in the bin. Never come here again! Waste of time and money.

OMG, such great, great fidh & chips. And the sausages too, superb.. Fresh tasty & absolutely lovely portions. Went in once sfter a walk with the kids and we were not disappointed :). Went ba k for more the following week. Very good customer service too. It was a very busy evenkng when we went in. Thank you for being tound the corner. Will definstely be going back

love the fish and chips here. The cod is big and chunky and you get just the right amount of chips so there is No leftovers or waste.

Absolutely disgusted! Order over hour late, chippy not answering phone, offered £3 for delay! Drove round and it was shut!!! Strangely turned up after I got home. Where did it come from because nobody was at shop when I went there!! Food was cold greasy and dry, terrible customer service by violet chippy will never ever use again.

Always consistent with the taste. Food is always nice and hot, fair waiting time. This is a takeaway. Looks clean and hygienic.

How ordered off Uber eats I ordered the chicken Fillet burger that came with chips the chips were not great at No sort of crisp to them and the burger was disgusting. Sorry to say it taste slightly like a vegetable Samosa the seasonings that won’t put in the batter it’s quite sickening. I could only handle one bite . I did not enjoy my food at all. I also ordered burger sauce top on the side, but they never gave it to me or any sauce on the side, but I guess it is what it is. Waste of money

Donner meat was old and stale, didn’t look like a large portion either….not fresh like it has been in the past….fish was cold n soggy n stuck to the paper as were the chips.
