Village Pub & Grill in Tameside

The bar was extremely busy with food and drink orders . Emma the manager came to the rescue .I watched her from my table . She showed all the attributes of a good manager . She calmly organised matters , she got stuck in and helped . She seem to glide across the floor showing a calm authority. The busy period was overcome , the customers were all highly satisfied . I was most impressed with Emma ! Top marks 👌

We were really looking forward to visiting as part of our weekend away. When we arrived no one greeted us and we were left standing at the entrance for ages before seating ourselves due to such a long wait. The service continued to be poor for us where food we ordered was slapped down in front of us with the waitress not saying a word when we tried to thank her for the food. We felt very unwelcome. The food was clearly reheated frozen food and my partner ordered a superfood chicken salad which came very dry with vegetables gone brown and wilted leaving it smelling off and sour! The staff did not seem very apologetic and didn’t even clear the bad meal away from our table - we had to move it ourselves. Better quality food and service can be found elsewhere for a better price we are sad to say.

The starters were evidently reheated frozen food and my partner ordered a superfood chicken salad for their main. It came with very dry chicken and brown old vegetables leaving the dish smelling foul. We were able to swap this for another meal but the salad was not taken away from our table nor were the staff very apologetic. I personally felt bad for sending food back but as paying customers we didn’t feel very welcome or well looked after which is a shame as the hotel itself is lovely. Avoid this pub - can find nicer food for a cheaper price elsewhere.

Food was very nice just limited on options, but the staff at the bar and waitresses were beyond helpful, even at one point Googling places to go around the area to help out, Beth, Emily and manager Emma were very friendly and a good laugh at times

Been regular visitor's here and members for years, in my opinion it's really gone downhill since reopening after lockdown. The prices went and portions went down. Menu is not appealing at all, all chips have a cheese sauce on that drowns it, the chicken tenders (picture 1) was £9!!!! For 4 this used to be £8 and u got 6. The only saving grace is the staff, they are wonderful and friendly always, especially Tom, Alex and Tracey. They do a great job all the time.
