What a lovely pub, just what we needed. Staying John O Groats and not much there for evening meal. This is about 7 or 8 miles away. Food was fantastic and not over priced. Had the steak and ale pie - see pic. Liked it so much we have booked again for tomorrow evening.

Very welcoming with a fantastic menu. Great options for the whole family including a vegetarian. The specials board looks amazing with fresh seafood options.

Really good food for a reasonable price considering what they could charge. Next to a wonderful B&B called Flotnar Hus. Good pints, good food, good prices. Absolutely worth a visit.

Like many others, we were staying at sinclair bay lodges and saw the great reviews for here. Our experience was very pleasant, food was delicious and affordable. We cannot fault anything at all! The blonde lady serving us (didn't get her name) was wonderful. If we were ever to stay up there again this would be our first stop.

I was talked into ordering food on three nights drinking here and all three were just outright bad. Love the place itself and the staff is great, but in that one area it falls very flat.

I attended my work’s Christmas night out at the Village Inn this year and I have to say the whole experience was nothing short of excellent. Through word of mouth and the growing reputation for producing very good meals I decided to give this establishment a try. I can only give this place a glowing review, the food was up there with the very best and the staff made us feel more than welcome.

Was out for a meal as part of a works night out at the Village Inn, Keiss and can honestly say it was the best food I have had in a long time. The prawn starters and monkfish wrapped in bacon was awesome and of a standard that would be expected at Michelin Star restaurant, we will definitely be back and cannot recommend Village Inn, Keiss high enough. Thank you to owner and staff for great meal and evening.

Although it's a small pub and virtually the only place in the village to eat, the menu includes staple pub dishes and a good choice of specials. The sea food is locally caught, fresh and well cooked. The prices were very reasonable for the high quality of the food and drink, and the welcome from everyone who worked there was very warm and genuine. We discovered that the person who catches the local seafood was eating in the restaurant as well. You could easily drive past this place and barely give it a second thought, but it's well worth a visit.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.

This Subway has always been great; extremely friendly customer service, great food (sandwiches at other Subway’s are usually a bit burnt) and just an overall friendly Subway. However, since last year, this Subway has been closed; every time we walk by it is always empty, as in lights never on, same drinks left in fridge ect. You know it’s been closed a while when you see COVID guidelines telling you to wear a mask and that it’s mandatory; as well as other posters and such laying all over the floor. When searched on Google, it says “Temporarily closed”, however, it’s been well over a year at this point and it shows no signs of re-opening. We know some of the people who uses to work there and they just said that it’s “closed”. It’s a shame; the Subway should be sold if they don’t want to maintain or open it. Here’s to hoping that we ever see Subway Aviemore open again — I’m hoping 🤞
