Awful meal tonight (1/4/23) Stale popadoms, overcooked chicken (Buna) potatoes in sag aloo hard or bruised, rice lumpy and stuck together

Without a doubt the worst Indian I have ever had ,not normally my thing to leave reviews but you have to avoid this ,food was burnt ,cold and inedible

Absolute rip off! 2x SMALL side dishes,2 naans & one TINY starter £20!! Nice quality but TINY portions, said 30min wait (Mon nite) -took over an hour, wont be ordering there again

This is my favourite Indian restaurant in the area. Their veggie options are spot on (paneer biriyani is delightful!) and the food is always delicious. Thank you :)

Had the karma sutra special and have to say it had a lovely taste and the chicken quality was excellent! Sag paneer was also very tasty. Highly recommend it. Have eaten here a few times now and always enjoy it.

So I have waited and waited to write a review about this restaurant and I believed one day I would get a meal which was not top marks! I have been probably 50 times and each meal has been great. I can see the chefs cooking the food. This is a top notch place! Go here as it’s head and shoulders above anything else in the area! 10/10

Great local take away, we have been here many times and always had good food, nothing we did not like. For a recommendation try the fish curry, enjoy!

Decided to give this place a go again and have had a couple of great takeaways. Seems that the issues have been resolved and quality back up to standard. The lamb dosa is the best I have had. Also Aladins karry is one of our favourites.

I used a credit card that I hadn't used in months. Within hours of using it to pay for a delivery from The Village someone else had tried to use it to order a watch, electrical goods etc. Luckily my credit card company picked up on it and stopped the transactions. Far too much of a coincidence they used/passed on my credit card details.....do not pay over the phone!!!!!!

Used to be the best and I do love the lamb dosa here but generally it is a bit hit and miss so I changed to the one a few doors down.

We are regulars for many, many years for a takeaway from the Village. This last time I'm afraid will be the last.The food and service have deteriorated beyond recognition. The food take 1.30 hours to arrive and on arrival it was greasy, burnt and unappetising. We always considered this food to be excellent however not anymore.

Every time we fancy an Indian we always come back to the village, very friendly staff, great service and the food well the food is incredible, I have tried many dishes and they never fail to please me

I ordered prawn tikka masala, vegetable and paneer byriani and cauliflower bhaji. They prepared king prawn which I realised from the price, The prawns were inedible the sauce was so sweet it was also inedible The bhaji was soggy and bland. The Byriani had no vivible paneer when I called The Village they said there were abot 7 pieces .. they must have been so small I missed them, Will not be returning.

Tired of the local Shenfield curry scene with lacklustre food, some of which all tastes the same no matter the dish, somewhat intrepidly I knew our Indian Takeaway game just had to be upped.

Used to be so good, now they just don't bother! Everything tastes the same. All chicken dishes are chicken tikka with a slight variation on the sauce! Lazy. Greasy. Disappointing. Waste of money

Take nothing away from the food which is absolutely amazing however the last 3 orders me and my partner have made it seems something is always left off the order don't get me wrong this is replaced on the next order but sometimes it would be nice to have our order fulfilled straight away.

Stopped going here as it was just too inconsistent but tried again at the weekend and it was excellent. Tonight got generous portions and all dishes were tasty. When it is good this place is the best takeaway in Brentwood. The lamb dosa starter is superb- shredded lamb with potatoes spiced and in a pancake. When they remember you get free popodums but they often forget which is a nuisance as you expect to get them so don't order and are then disappointed. karma sutra is usually very good but be warned it's very hot too. Gurkhas revenge is usually tasty too.

Being a real Indian food fan, this has to be the best takeaway Indian in Brentwood. I have sampled pretty much all the Indian takeaways and for me Village is spot on. Delivery times can sometimes be long on a Fri or Sat night but this is only due to the demand, I always collect.

It took an hour and 45 minutes to arrive. When it arrived the order was missing a main dish. No offer of any sort of refund. Absolutely dreadful service. Avoid if you’re hungry!

Food arrived 45 minutes late manager delivered food and called me a liar stating the food wasnt late .the food didnt have any taste either .id rather go hungry than order from there again

Food was 40 minutes late then the Manager did not apolergise he argued with me and the food was vile.

OK, so don’t know where to start really. Partner ordered 2 chicken Tikka Massala’s , Nan garlic bread and peshwari naan and also rice. We always ask for more thick curry, they said that’s OK - will be thick. Yeah right, how wrong was I? Upon collection partner checked - is it thick? Because we ordered think one? Yes, yes, sir, it’s definitely thick.

Ordered a takeaway last weekend and was told it would be an hour and 20 minutes and no more. The man taking the order specifically said ‘no longer than an hour and 20’ after an hour and 40 I called and was told it was on its way - 10 minutes later it arrived - it was dry and lukewarm. I complained via the web site and have had no response - won’t be using again

I used to order from here on a regular basis and it was always a good meal, but my latest experience was quite the opposite. Everything was quite bland, almost tasted... wrong. The two curries we ordered were like soups. The Chicken Madras tasted awful and was very very runny, couldn't even call it a curry really, it was more like curry flavoured water with some wet chicken in it. The Chicken Dhansak was a little bit better, but still very runny and didn't seem to have any lentils in it. My girlfriend ate hers but after a few mouthfuls I didn't bother finishing mine and had something else instead. I'll never order from this place again, shocking.

Another delicious takeaway! Good quality food and reasonably priced. Favourite dishes are chicken dansak and chicken shashlick. Highly recommend.

Made an order a order at 5.30 didnt receive delivery until 7 food was cold when we opened the containers when we called them to ask them where food was the man was very rude on the phone we also called to say our food was cold they didn't want to know we will not be using the village anymore manners don't cost nothing

I live just up the road and use this Indian frequently. Food is always great particularly the house special with king prawn and aubergine. Recommended.

We have been using Village since it opened. Everything was excellent. However although the food remains tasty, the rest is not good, over the past 3 - 4 months it has got worse and worse.. The last 5 times (yes we really did give then this many attempts to get it right), they have managed to get multiple items wrong on the order, items and items missing. They have taken an age with the food, delivery they said 45 mins, took 1.5 hours, pick up, 30 - 40 mins took well over an hour. The wheels appear to have fallen off of this take away which is a real shame.

Another trip to Village and again not disappointed with the food. Good portion sizes, lots of variety on the menu, absolutley delicious food. Highly recommend.

My overall experience was poor, but luckily to food made up for it. Rang and placed an order at two different times and both times the guy on the end of the phone has sounded grumpy. Both time I was told my order would be 35 - 40 minutes, so I arrived for collection after 45 minutes and had to wait a further 25 minutes. When I kept asking they kept telling me it was on the way - clearly not. The waiting area was full of the delivery staff who aren't particularly friendly and take up a lot of the waiting area, and did nothing but moan about customers that they delivered to being rude - what do you expect with poor time keeping? There was never any apologizes for having to wait so long for the food, to only saving grace of this place is that the food is delicious and that is the only reason we gave it a second chance, but with two poor attempts and awful service, we will NOT be returning!

Ordered this new years eve and although food arrived a little later than estimated, it was still fairly prompt given the date. Food was all present and correct and warm. What I ordered was a little spicier than expected, but was very flavorsome. Couldn't fault what we ordered. We will use this Indian again for sure.

Brilliant food, takes a little while to deliver, but worth the wait

We use the Village for our Indian takeaways - rather too much!The food is very good although sometimes varies (but not in quality). I tend to get the same dish every time and although it's always of great quality it does change a bit - perhaps because there's a different chef working. Regardless, we always have complete confidence that we will have a delicious dinner.The restaurant always accommodates requests - I ask for my dish extra hot and they always do this, although they never get it quite hot enough for me!

Excellent food as always on time. I've tried nearly all the local delivery options and these guys are by far the best locally. I've never had a reason to complain and the food is of outstanding quality especially the lamb dishes.

As ever from the village the food was exceptional... easily the best in brentwood. However for the 5th time running delivery took over an hour and 10mins. Still willing to keep ordering but more drivers are certainly needed

I order from these quite regularly, but unfortunately the last time I ordered I came across a long thick hair in my food which put me off completely which is a shame as the saga loo was really good.

I always got to this Indian and they never let me down! The food is of a very good standard and tastes so good! I would Defo reccomend this place for any curry lovers out there!

Excellent meal, full of flavour and not greasy. We have tried a good number of Indians in and around Brentwood and this has been by far the best.

This is a great takeaway for Indian Cuisine. The premises are very stylish and wile waiting you can watch them cook your meal through a large window. They are always helpful when ordering and often Mos and Abz remember our favourites. I live in Hutton and they always eagerly deliver and its still hot. we have tried all the more local ones but by far we prefer Village. the food is excellent, the chicken is of the highest quality and the lamb so tender. We have never had a meal that we were not happy with. The menu is varied and they even personalise a menu item is you know what you like. i have no hesitation is recommending this place.

First time ordering from the Village! Delivery time quicker than estimated, very sweet and polite delivery driver! Food was lovely - apart from the Keema Naan had very little meat in, and the Chicken Tikka Massala was slightly cheesy tasting! Apart from that top notch :).

Over priced really, small meal for £20, delivery 40mins late and given one popadom as compensation. Food was good but I'd rather pay cheaper for lower quality and more food starter only had 2 pan cake rolls, not the best.

A 2 hour wait for our food isn't acceptable. We didn't receive our food until 10pm and wasn't given any excuse as to why. I phoned to chase just to be told 'sorry' and that the delivery driver was leaving in 2 minutes... Only for it to arrive 50 minutes later when we only live a couple of minutes from the shop. It's shame, food is great and have been a regular here for a while but won't be going back.

As ever the food from The Village is the best in Brentwood. However in this instance they really let themselves down on the delivery front. My food took over 1 and 1/2 Hours, and after an hour i was told it was just leaving and would be 10mins. It was another 35 min before it finally turned up. They were very helpful and apologetic once this had happened but I cannot give more than 1 star for delivery on this occasion. A small blight on what is normally a 100% company.

I order from here every so often and the food and service is excellent without fail. Always on time, great quality, and my favourite Indian takeaway in Brentwood.
