The manager is very rude. We won't be going back. We witnessed an incident with someone else and felt lucky it wasn't us. He ruined the atmosphere.

We always buy our coffee beans from here, its by far the best coffee we've had! It is a bit expensive but its worth the price for us. There's lots of different types and they will grind the beans for you if you need. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful whenever we've been.

Although the coffee is very good, I don’t think I will be visiting this place any time soon. Unless someone offers me a coffee without me needing to face their customer service that clearly has an attitude. Bought myself a cappuccino and my son asked for a babyccino. We were on the go( they do not welcome pushchair customers indoors anyway), but the small babyccino( or esspresso) cup did not have a lid, so I asked it to be poured into a bigger cup. The answer from the barista was that they don’t do it as it costs money! I was shocked at his answer, but said, I can pay for this bigger cup with a lid ( not to mention the overprised price for a shot of hot milk). At that point the barista said it’s ok( did he feel ashamed, may be?😎) It is not the first time the arrogant customer service in this place has left me surprised. I will choose other coffee places and there are plenty of places that serve hot shots of milk free or under a pound too;-) Dissapointed local customer.

Having found this 'gem' I have been popping in ever since happy to support an independent chain (Watford, St Albans). This review relates to St Albans branch only. The coffee is undoubtedly made very well, although they roast their own there is no information as to bean, origin or ethical sourcing. In a short time I detected three different beans or variation in roasting technique. The result is either exceptional or excellent. At first, I thought the poor service was a false impression due to covid screens and limited service options. After a while I realized that the service I repeatedly experienced was not going to change. Basically, it felt joyless. Then a couple of things happened that made me question my support - about £600 spend p.a. I left my loyalty card behind one time - no goodwill gesture. Then finally there was a payment issue, again, nothing possible could be done. I left thinking I had been charged twice, and the co-owner appeared unsympathetic.I'm not going back unless the business is 'under new management'!

Tip : Viento is small so may be worth a phone call to check space if you are travelling to visit A great coffee shop about a 10 minute walk from Watford Junction train station. Coffee was very good - full of flavour. We opted for breakfast - hot menu is limited and we opted for scrambled eggs on sourdough. Eggs were lovely and light , although strangely served sweet chilli sauce which may not be to everyone's tastes (served on the side). Worth a visit.

Probably the best coffee shop in Watford! Very selfishly, thank goodness it’s out of the town centre to keep it from being overcrowded! The coffee is excellent and they have oat milk (the king of plant milks). Food menu is simple but with enough choice, including vegan options. The avo on toast in excellent and I’ve heard rave reviews of the arancini too. There’s also a great range of sweet treats. Service is always so friendly and the super chilled vibes make this an ideal place to while away a few hours.

Popped in for a nice cup of coffee and was served terrible liquid of dark colour in a huge plastic glass - because apparently they didn't have the glass ones left or it was too late or something. They appear to pose themselves as some kind of coffee experts but the only conclusion I made was that what they make is the kind of a drink that has not even remotest resemblance of coffee - tasteless and horribly smelling. Avoid this place and if you were unlucky enough to get in - try to limit your options to espressos - they can get those ones wrong, can they?

This coffee shop has an excellent choice of roasted beans and the coffee is really good, as is the food . However the tea is another story £2:40 for a tea bag in a small cup, and no top up of hot water... payment for a second cup of tea is necessary.Teapots would resolve this and make for happier customers... apparently this is not the first time a top up with hot water has been requested and refused.. such a shame to what otherwise would have been a lovely morning stop off for a cuppa .

Left very disappointed today and dont think will be ever coming back. Asked for standard black coffee which they could only serve in a take away cup. Coffee was awful, it was filled to the rim with hot water and I couldn't taste coffee at all. When I complained they started arguing that this is how they normally serve. This is not true as I have been to this place before. Anyway I asked to add extra shot to my coffee for which they decided to charge me. Really? Oh well! Very disappointed.

My partner and I are regular Viento visitors (and both very into our coffee). I genuinely cannot believe how fortunate we are to have the best coffee shop for 50 miles in any direction literally on our doorstep! The coffees are always perfectly brewed, the staff are very friendly and professional and whilst the coffee shop itself is quite small and very cosey, this only adds to its inherent charm. It’s a mini oasis of calm and tranquility on the St Albans road. I simply don’t know how anyone can give them a bad rating - I’ve never had a bad coffee there. Ever. All I can possibly think of is given it is quite small inside and so popular, said negative reviewer may have struggled to get a seat. Watford is very fortunate to have Viento in its midst!

Like many coffee places Viento have a loyalty card. Buy so many coffees and get the next one free. Every other place I have been to would let you use the card from the moment you reach the required number e.g. if you have a empty space on a card and buy two coffees you pay for one and use the now full card to pay for the other coffee. Viento's do not do this. Their position is that you cannot use the card now and you have to go back again for your free coffee - so they stamp the final section on the card and then stamp the first section of another card and you take both away with you. Presumably they think this ensures people come back but in my case it means I will not go there again.

The master coffee roaster at viento roasts high quality coffee in-house and simply produces the best tasting coffee you will ever experience. This is better than the artisan coffee I have tasted elsewhere including top coffee roasters in Chicago, LA and San Francisco. I also tried the avocado and tomato on toast recently. Simply the best combination of crunchy bread with soft avocado with the tangy tomatoes complemented with beautiful tasting olive oil and black pepper. The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast is also excellent. This is my favourite place to hang out in the morning before work or a lazy Sunday morning for breakfast and coffee.

We would walk much further to get the quality coffee we get here! Our favourite comes from Vietnam but there is a wide range of different countries to try. The beans are expertly roasted there in the shop and you can also buy some to take home. The food is always good and everything is run in a professional but relaxed atmosphere. If you get the chance, pop in. I know you will return many times as we have!

Not another chicken shop or Indian restaurant. Not another chain.

I happened to notice this coffee shop whilst visiting the range.. I have a good eye for a modern looking coffee shop.. I added it to my notes to remember for next time me and my mum visited the range to stop for a hot drink!.. and we did just that! We were certainly not disappointed!!! Friendly, professional, acomadating and welcoming staff, quirky and modern decor, delicious, fresh & moreish food!!! Unfortunately me and mum aren't coffee lovers but the selection is vast for those of you who do enjoy a coffee! I had camomile tea.. whilst both me and mum ordered smashed avocado and tomatoes on sourdough toast! And wow! It was so fresh! Really delicious :) highly recommend to anyone near by! You can tell the owner has real passion in his job! A real gem in Watford!

We've been coming here most weekends since it opened and it is a wonderful place to stop for a great coffee and hot chocolate. The staff are all friendly and make you feel welcome and never rushed. There is a lovely comfortable feel about this place. Plus good food and drinks.

Viento is a coffee shop that does great coffee and service consistently well. It also does a good range of toasted sandwiches, pastries, and cakes. I've not bought any coffee beans to take home because I know that I'll not be able to recreate the perfect flat white that I get from Viento.

This place is like the Tardis, massive eating section out the back. The Thia is amazing. I had the satay chicken followed by the spicy beef, both delicious. Service is good and Guinness and Timmy Taylor spot on. Defo recommended

I’ve been coming here for years. Many times I’ve felt that the amazing food has forgiven the cold service. Today I felt compelled to leave this review. The waitress behind the counter in particular was very standoffish when I politely asked if the cruffins had eggs. She wasn’t keen on checking until I insisted and she was sure they do. Turns out, they didn’t. Since allergies are not displayed, it has to be ok for customers to ask and staff should be welcoming of the question. She was on her phone pretty much the whole time and I felt like my presence was disturbing her. Not very hospitable to say the least. The food is fantastic though! Serious question to the owners. People are not rude by default; are you treating your staff well enough to motivate them? Literally no one was smiling there- are you doing something wrong with your management style?
