Always great - especially the cakes! Lovely home made Gluten Free Range. Great way to round off the Great British Garden Bird Watch.

Called here today with my family and have to say the coffee and cake were absolutely delicious. The coffee was like a Spanish one and I will be back again very soon. The new people were really nice and accommodating. The new log Cabin I was so impressed with and a far cry from the dirty unfriendly place it was before. The sausage Muffin was lovely too.Try this place you won’t be disappointed. The Children lived the little Animals with the ice cream in. We will be back soon

I was disappointed with tea room. Went in and waitress looked miserable and rushed off her feet. Told as we were sitting outside as we have a dog she wouldn't serve us until she had served others inside. But said this in quite a abrupt unfriendly tone..we just stood at till also to find out there was no card machine. Wasn't made to feel welcome. So needless to say we didn't know what to do next.. and went back outside and left to go to a local pub where we were made to feel welcome.

This was the second time we had visited the tea rooms on a familiar reservoir walk. Both times we've encountered a bad, snippy and sarcastic attitude by the lady that serves. The first time we stayed and ate our food and hoped it was a one off. We returned yesterday to be met with the same bad attitude, and upon being subject yet again to the short snippy remarks, we actually turned round and left without purchasing anything. We often walk the local good circulate route but will not be using the tea room again which is a shame as the food itself is great quality. There's a brilliant ice cream and coffee shop in Edgerton if you walk a bit farther on, that I can highly recommend.

Visited today after cycling to the tower. Service was very quick. The lady was very lovely and polite. We ordered and sat outside, our food and drinks where brought out really quick and they where delicious. The spiced apple cake was one of the nicest cake ive tasted in years. Will definitely be visiting again when passing through.

Absolutely disgusted with the service we received today! Me & my partner both work in the service industry & have always treated customer with the upmost respect & gratitude regardless of how busy or short staffed. When my partner tried to pay for our food today she was met with such rudeness! The lady serving also snapped at my partener when trying to purchase a cake to take away. We will certainly be telling people to avoid!

Have always loved visiting the tea rooms over the years. However the past few times we have visited the staff at the tea rooms couldn't make you feel more unwelcome. Asking to order food is made out to be a chore. Such a shame to be made to feel uncomfortable in such a lovely place.

What a find. A higgledy-piggledy little place, quirkily decorated, with an intriguing back room for larger groups. The scones were very good indeed, and the smores cake (the first we’d ever encountered) was superb. A nice strong pot of tea too. We’ll definitely be back.

Arrived here to find most of the outside tables occupied, but no one sat inside. Lovely day, not overly busy. One woman working in there, who was actively ignoring customers who wanted serving. Don't think I've ever met anyone so rude in the service industry. She sneered at anyone who asked a question. It's been mentioned in other reviews, but why do Turton Tower allow this?! Would never go back. One man asked how much the ice cream was. She looked at him like he'd just gone to the toilet on a table and spat "all different prices". We were after two ice creams. We were ignored and ignored and left, along with at least one other customer. He couldn't believe his eyes either! Oh and the dirty plates that were visible had a lot of food left on them. Hardly a great enforcement. Avoid, avoid, avoid. More honest reviews of the cafe on the Turton Tower Trip Advisor page.

What a find! this little cafe serves a very good range of food, freshly made and nicely served. The tomato and chorizo soup was so tasty, served with warm crusty bread and butter. The trio of humous was beautifully presented, 3 pots of different flavours (with tiny spoons), served with warm pitta bread and a lovely dressed salad. The tea was served in a multi coloured teapot and cups and saucers. So reasonably priced, worth a visit even if you are just passing Turton Tower, popular with local dog walkers too, quaint interior, a small marquee at the entrance for extra undercover seating and picnic benches on the grass outside. Delightful!

First time visit here after meaning to try it out. We went for a soup and chilli 'pasty' each with a coffee. The soup was thick, dahl style and nice tasting. Chilli pasty could have upped the flavours and spice, a little bland. I'd also name it a calzone as it was like thin pizza dough than pastry. The coffee was superb, easily the best in darwen. Certainly recommended from me.
