Scampi over cooked, fritters under cooked. Chips dry and mushy peas tasted burnt.

We come to dundee once a year for family visit and this is the chippy we always go for! Since we live in london there's hardy any chippies do their chips in beef oil due to dietary requirements... we really appreciate we can still enjoy something truly traditional because the taste is irreplaceable. Please never change!

chips not great, lot of flat pieces of fried potato mixed with small bits of chips. Fish was nearly OK but the batter fell away from the fish as it was kinda soggy and spongy on the inside. Pizza was interesting after being delivered on its side slide.

Food was good, took ages to deliver, estimated 8:05 to 8:20 and didn't arrive till 9:05.

Order is over an hour late. I phoned restaurant and was told that it was on its way. 30 mins later and no sign of it.

the batter wasn't very crispy and lacked flavour curry sause was lumpy and the chicken was rubbery the only thing I enjoyed was the chips and cheese

Was ready earlier than expected, food packaged when we arrived so was fresh. Great quality food. Would definitely order again

Called to check on order as has been an hour and told by owner they were “exceptionally busy” why take the order then? Greed! When finally arrived the driver informed the owner had just sacked someone in the shop, nice! The food definitely reflected being exceptionally busy - rip off and terrible. Stale chips, overcooked and undercooked food.

Hi, i'm very angry with what you did today, so I didn't mention this in the store, I'm here to let more people know what you did. Hope this can provide a change. Today, I ordered a fish supper at about 21:30. You let me wait a few minutes. That's fine, because normally you need time to fry the fish. One or two minutes later than I ordered my supper, a lady came in and ordered some chips. You directly provided to her. This fine,because she only needs chips. However, a long enough time later, (it is long enough for you to fry a fish), you packaged my meal, with the chips you already have, and a fish which already lay in the heated display cabinet before I visit you! Why you ask me to wait this long time just for this? It is acceptable if you provided me with this unfresh fish and unfresh chips immediately as what you always do during the night. And it supposed to be like that asked me wait a few minutes to fry a fish for me. But why? Why ask me to wait a longer time to have what I could have without waiting? Because you just get a order online? Or other reasons make you find you need to use this unfresh fish to me? Since 2020, every time when I need a fish supper, I come to your shop. Every time I order fish supper with Tartar sauce. Because I was thinking you are better than a large amount of famous fish&chips shop who win gold or silver prize. You had their level of quality and have a better control than them. But, look what you did today! Every one should know this. I don't care one fish supper, I care with all the fish supper I will get from you in the future. Well, if you think you two keep doing cleaning and thinking about working shift then put the chips in box after she said she just needs some chips and and paid after she got the chips is she ordered online and you had already packed her chips. No body is idiot. I know when you put fish in the fryer and when you add a basket chips to the fryer. The weakness of a open kitchen is your customer can directly see what are you doing. You this altitude is awful. You're trying to fool customers by making them look like idiots.

quality of food was ok, scampi was over cooked again, I asked for salt and vinegar on my fish, I couldn't taste anything on it, whole meal was bland.

Delicious as usual but almost 25 minutes late.

Food was fantastic as usual, always is from Victor, easily the best chippy in town however I am becoming increasingly agitated about the ridiculous extra charges for delivery/"service charge"/bag fee which totalled around another 50% on top of the cost of the food! Surely these excessive fees cannot be justified, it had me so annoyed I almost cancelled tonight and will have to seriously consider ordering again in future which is a pity.

Fritter roll. Must of been yesterdays roll. The fritter wasn't far off the same. Chips and peas. Chips were under cooked. Peas were the same and hard. Very poor meal from a place that has been so good and consistent in the past

was the worst meal I've ever had from here what a waste of 32 pound kids meal was so had the fish finger snsped it half and the breaded cod was rotten went in the bin

What a long wait for sub standard food I’m afraid , time stated for delivery which was long enough then when chased up another wait for a further half an hour after the first hour , can’t fault the fish but as for the rest an overdone and greasy taste left in the mouth , unpleasant and not worth the wait. Sorry .

So just had food again from here use to love the place, allways been good food till now!!! Food cold pizza cold, food missing and call up and get cheek from the owner about the food saying this and that' definitely not good the night Sort it out

Their pepperoni pizza was delicious, but I found the fried food had a really bitter aftertaste which might mean they needed an oil change. The price of this chippy is also a bit more expensive than other local chippies at £15.80 for the small pizza and a sausage supper.

Food is always excellent from Victor but this was exceptional, fish was absolutely fantastic.

Fantastic service. Food lovely despite the lateness of my order. Shop stayed open a bit longer as the person picking up the food got lost. 10/10 for quality. 11/10 for great customer service 🙂

Too expensive,not value for money they are giving small fish slice @ 4.70pound which is 4 inches long one inches width. Doing a unprofessional business they don’t know what sauce served with what food As a examples fried fish should have been served with tartar sauce but they asked .50 pence for a small sachets which is serving free in Macdonald Burger king

First time ordering from The Victor tonight and I will definitely be back! Had the small breaded haddock supper, dead crispy and plenty of chips. The curry sauce was top notch too (ended up mopping the leftovers with bread and butter). Lovely staff behind the counter too, cheers guys!

I’ve lived opposite the victor fish bar for a while now and always visit this chippy with my friends. The majority of the staff are absolutely lovely and do their jobs extremely efficiently. However a particular member of staff is always extremely slow at their job, doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing, and gets the order wrong time after time even after double checking. The food from the Victor is always fresh and good however, this one member of staff always makes me apprehensive on if I should visit or not. I do not mind waiting for my food at all, especially if it is being made to order, however I would appreciate if wait times could be more accurate and not be told “it’ll be done in 10” to come back 10 minutes later and then still have to wait in the shop for another 10 minutes.

Absolutely fantastic fish, clearly freshly cooked and as crispy as it gets. I have tried probably all the local chippys on JustEat and The Victor is the best by a mile, might be a little bit more expensive than some but worth every penny.

My usual go to chippy was shut so I decided to read the reviews for Victor, I have had such a belly laugh at your replies I had to order just to see what I would get. 2 crispy battered sausage, so hot I burnt my tongue twice due to sheer greed on my part. I'm not a chip fan I general, they weren't bad, but I still ate the lot, crispy chips were on point though! delivery right at the beginning of the window, a good chippy in Dundee is hard to find, but you've delivered and have me a laugh 👌

Have been going to this chip shop for years and the foods always good, first time I have had it delivered and couldn’t ask for more, food wasn’t soggy, chips were nice and golden. All in all I would give them 6 out of 5 but I can’t.

Fast, Efficient and excellent customer service. Food was piping hot and tasted amazing. Don’t understand why people are giving this establishment soo much stick when in reality it’s one of the only chippys in Dundee that are still actually good. On my side the order was still showing as “confirming with restaurant” I called and the man explained there was issues with JustEat and that my order was on the way and about 4 mins later I get my food. You can’t get it better anywhere else. Thanks lads

One of the worst fish suppers I have ever had. Everything was dry and tasteless and was as if it had been lying all day - it was anything but fresh. Would not recommend.
