Vicino in Hammersmith and Fulham

This was family celebration. We went to Vicino on the recommendation of one of the party. Sadly, it must have changed management as it was unrecognisable. The silver service and caring waiters had been replaced by rude and unhelpful waiting staff, reflecting the attitude of the manager (owner?) who was just unpleasant. We asked to be moved to another table but this was denied notwithstanding that it was empty all evening. This is the worst meal I can ever remember having. The service was slow, and people were served at different times. It seemed throughout that we were being done a favour by reluctant staff. When the food did come, there were no redeeming features. The pasta was a congealed mass. The muscles were overcooked and dry. The lasagna was microwaved and stodgy. The gamberoni were shrivelled. The calamari looked as if they had come from a frozen packet. Even the asparagus special was ruined. I usually enjoy liver which should be of good quality and lightly cooked; what was served was of poor quality reheated in a sauce which can only be described as uniquely dreadful. The Pinot and Barbera were of very low quality and almost undrinkable. To cap it all the bill was substantially more than I anticipated.

Poor service, low-quality food. Used to be white table cloth and attentive service but not anymore. We used to visit this restaurant for special occasions beauties of the vibrant and attentive service. My family, some who travelled from out of London, visited this restaurant for a birthday. But once we walked in it looked like a cafe not a restaurant. The service was slow and as though we were inconveniencing the staff to order or food. We asked to move to a large round table which would be more sociable but were told we couldn’t, resulting in many of us unable to hear each other - such a shame as many of us haven’t seen one another for some time. When asking for this request, the distain from the manager to why we were asking was very evident. The waiter even defended by quite aggressively stating that our table was fine and there is not need to move, to the empty, more convenient round table. The food quality was not what it used to and the wine was not great. I am disappointed to say the least. We will not be returning. So sad after the precious experience we had throughout 2023.

This was the worst meal with the rudest staff I have had for a very long time in London. The food was terrible, the service was consistently rude, we were given food we hadn't ordered, wine we didn't want and at ten were practically thrown out on the street. It was appalling at every level. And overpriced.

Graziano is the best, his knowledge about the menu and wine is unbelievable, I recommend this place, the staff is amazing, the food was 10 stars 🌟🤩

Went there for a Sunday afternoon lunch with the family. The place was not overly busy so we could just walk in and get a small table. The interior is nice and cozy and the service is friendly. We had pasta dishes which my wife really loved. I had the Carbonara which was very flavorsome and enjoyable (portions are very large so I could not finish mine). We also had the calamari, which were OK but I have had better and was not overly impressed. Overall an enjoyable Sunday lunch place.

Six of us went there for a birthday celebration. The restaurant itself is very pleasant and the food was ok to very good, depending on what the dish was. However, the service was far from perfect, especially at the end. We were given the bill before we had finished our meal (we hadn’t even yet asked for it.) Then before we had time to look at the bill and check it one of the waiters was standing over us with the card machine. Admittedly it was their closing time but surely a restaurant should give the customers a little leeway. None of us had ever before been to a restaurant where we felt so unwelcome at the end.

As a family on a Saturday evening after a busy day, we were looking for a place to eat near Stamford Bridge (sports bar full and not accepting children on a match night), we slipped into this little restaurant does not charge much and the surprise was total, warm welcome, fast service and the starter arrived, fried squid for the little one, bruschetta for Madame and arrancini for me a treat, the main pasta dishes were simply delicious. It’s very nice to find a real Italian restaurant where there’s not just the name to attract. A big thank you to the whole team.

Had previously rated this 5 stars but felt the need to update my review. Service has massively declined from previous visits and it feels that at times it's for the sole purpose of grabbing every last pound. On our most recent visit we booked with OpenTable with the view of using an opentable cheque (I highlighted this in the original booking and also checked to make sure the restaurant was not on the exemption list). We arrived and ordered our usual bottle of house wine. We were then told that it was unfortunately out of stock so opted for the next one up at an additional cost of 4 pounds. When ordering we asked for a substitute in pasta (normal to squid ink) and whilst that does cost more we were told that it would incur a further 1 pound additional charge, which I felt was already offset having had to order more expensive wine. At the end of the meal our dining cheque was not honoured and no gesture of goodwill was given even though service was at 12.5 and we had already given the restaurant a heads up. The whole experience has left a sour taste and it is so disappointing that a once frequently visited restaurant with personable service has got to this point. Given this we will probably not be returning as Fulham has an abundance of good quality Italian food elsewhere.

Good value, fam and date friendly - traditional, honest good Italian food

While visiting the team at our London office, I was taken to this unassuming Italian restaurant about 0.5 miles or (0.8 kilometers) away. Living in the New York and New Jersey areas, having been to Italy numerous times, and having eaten food by chefs such as Lidia Bastianich and Massimo Bottura, I am definitely what you could consider picky about what constitutes good Italian food. Dining in at Vicino's and having their Lasagna Vicino was a totally unexpected and pleasant surprise. I also tried one of their veal meatballs and both items were rustic, delicious, and honestly tasted of home in the sense that you knew the person that made them loves their culture and most importantly the food he puts out in front of people. The flavors were all well balanced with nothing being too intense or assaulting your taste buds. The best thing about the food is that it tasted like home. For anyone that knows or has an Italian nonna, that is the vibe you get with each bite. All in all, I highly suggest. Their drink selection was also quite robust (with the exception of beer), but then again pubs are for beer and restaurants are for great food.

I've been to Vicino a few times now and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The food is both amazing in taste and also amzing in presention. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to go back!

Absolutely love the whole ambience of this gem of a restaurant. On this occasion, we celebrated our daughters birthday. Always a wonderful experience when eating here. Food is fabulous, and staff are all wonderful. Until next time!!

Nice italian restaurant in Parsons Green. Booked a sunday lunch at 1 o'clock, restaurant was busy when we arrived. Good service but my main course was wrong so I had to wait for my dinner while the rest of my party ate theirs. In fairness the food, we all had different pastas, was very good. Around £30 per head for starter and main couse with soft drinks which, in London, is decent value. Toilets are modern and clean but I did hit my head, missed the 'mind your head' sign! All in all a pretty good authentic italian meal. Would be happy to visit again.

Waited way too long for the main course. Mistakes were made with our order apparently but we were not told. When it did arrive I was very disappointed with the melanzani. It had clearly been sitting around for a good while. The service was very brusk and bordered on the rude. The free bottle of wine at the end came late so didn’t make up for a very disappointing evening. Won’t visit again.

I am obsessed with this place! I order all the time on Deliveroo and thought why not go in and check it out. The staff are lovely! The place is super cute and cosy. My favourite Italian place by far and I’ve been to many.

Amazing and authentic Italian restaurant in London. Family oriented, was full so you should book just in case. We ordered spaghetti with lobster, seabass, linguine and some drinks. Everything was great. Best pasta I had in long time. Staff is very professional and friendly.

We were seated quickly on Saturday evening without a reservation. Paolo was charm personified. We asked for tap water which was offered unbegrudgingly, then as we snacked on complimetary breadsticks as we waited for our mains, the calm and comfortable ambience surrounded us. Mains were great and very generous portions so we didn't leave hungry, thank you.

This a wonderful traditional Italian restaurant. All the classics are served here and there is a wonderful sense of timelessness. The menu brings about fond memories. There's fresh home made pasta every day. The service is impeccable. To escape here sometimes when it is not busy is pure joy.

So so disappointing. Ordered using Uber eats. Only half the meal turned up. Restaurant refused to do anything about it so evening completely ruined with only one persons meal at the table ! To top it off Delivery driver had an argument with the concierge for refusing to take his helmet off for CCTV so the one meal that did arrive was freezing cold. Absolutely disaster class...

Refused to accept gourmet voucher for 3 course meal, despite it being in date and fully valid. Waiter would not let me speak to the manager. He just stated “we’re not taking vouchers” and hung up!!

En general, la experiencia fue de lejos la peor que he encontrado. La comida era terrible, por ejemplo, los calamares sabían a goma, las gambas estaban poco cocidas, la pasta estaba dura como una piedra y nuestra parte de patatas estaba quemada y muy aceitosa. La lubina de mi pareja estaba seca y las verduras parecían estar en el microondas (no muy frescas). Estoy muy decepcionado con el servicio que tuvimos anoche. Good service delicious food happily accommodated a wheelchair

The service has definitely gone down the pan. Restaurant was half full and the waitress kept walking past our table on another planet. The food is still fantastic however!

My sister and I really enjoyed our visit to Vicino - some of the best pasta either of us has ever eaten (carbonara and, I think, porcini mushroom and truffle ). Reasonable price and attentive staff and manager. Our only quibble (and I get it: mid-week and nearly 3pm) some of the lights suddenly got turned off (I went to the loo and the kitchen staff were standing downstairs, in the dark, obviously waiting for everyone to leave). And we weren't even the last ones!! Will definitely go back, though.

Three year old Ben has a special bond with Marcello - after all, Ben has been a regular at this neighborhood gem since birth.... Saturday lunches with his Mum and Dad after playing in the park! On arrival, Ben asks loudly for Marcello and greets him: "Hi Marcello, It's me, Ben!). The food here is wonderfully prepared. Fresh Branzino and Grilled Paillard of Veal top the list. A wine list is complete and together with warm service, the price is right!

Came across the restaurant earlier this afternoon. The staff were extremely welcoming and sat us down at the table. We ordered and shared the lobster linguine pasta it was amazing. The price was also on point which was great!

Good, decently priced italian food. The service and decor was very good but unfortunately, the host seemed a little bit annoyed that we only ordered mains and declined the bread and olives (which are not complimentary). The food was good but not exceptional, good for lunch or an afternoon. Very nice and suitable for a date.

Con una fuerte competencia entre los restaurantes italianos de la zona, ¡me sorprendió lo malo que es este lugar! Para empezar, el gerente del restaurante tiene una actitud, y no una buena. Nos dijeron que nos sentáramos en una mesa redonda en el medio del restaurante, los espacios eran estrechos por todos lados, en lugar de ofrecer mover la mesa un poco hacia un lado para hacer más espacio para el otro lado, vino y nos dijo por bloquear su camino! Solo después de que señalé que no había otra manera de que nos pudiéramos sentar, él vino y movió la mesa. Aparte del malhumorado servicio del gerente, la comida aquí está por debajo del promedio. Teníamos un buñuelo de calabacín y un buñuelo de calamares para comenzar, el primero era amargo y grasiento y el segundo duro. En cuanto a los platos principales, el espagueti especial de langosta de la casa estaba por debajo del promedio, y el hígado de ternera con tocino fue posiblemente el peor que he probado en mi vida. Ordené que el hígado de los terneros se cocinara mediano, pero cuando llegó, estaba demasiado cocido y sabía a paté. Después de quejarse, se hizo uno nuevo y era de color rosa pero todavía sabía a paté. No pude comerlo. This is simply my favourite Italian rest in London. The venue is lively and with great decor, staff is very friendly and the food. The patas offered here are nothing like you have tasted before. My favourite is the 4 Fromaggie al Tartuffo, the lasagna is def worth a try and they have specials every month! I come or order food form this place every other week at least!!

5 star dining and wining and 5 star service.

The way an Italian restaurant should be.

We’ve been going to this restaurant for years, and we wouldn’t change a thing. The staff are charming and attentive, and treat my 84 year old Dad (who is in there most days) like family. The food is delicious traditional Italian, delicious and well priced. It’s buzzy when you want buzzy and quiet out-of-hours if you want a camer atmosphere. We absolutely love it!
