Verona Take Away in Kingston upon Hull, City of

We moved near by and of course like most we get a takeaway on a weekend on occasion, we really liked verona at first but they've been going downhill, we're done giving this place a chance, they just don't listen on the phone we tell them we don't want the sauces on kebab when it arrives the kebab is covered in the sauces we tell them we don't want salad allergy reasons and the item comes covered in salad, it's ridiculous paying money for things we literally can't eat! The chips recently have been awful aswell they look and taste reheated no more buying from here such a shame because it used to be amazing I don't know what went wrong with them

Pizza's are always super hot and tasty from here, best pizza's around. Unfortunately the skinny McDonald's style chips are awful.

Shut the shutters on me early by half hour. Didn’t get chance to pick my food up. Can only pay by cash. Btw to the owner or who ever reads the reviews, change ur time on google to when u actually shut!

Asked for a pitta with salad and cheese on top she says sorry we can’t do that we can put cheese in a pitta and salad separate which I thought was odd but said ok fair enough - I got home in the box theyd put a pitta with melted cheese all over it 😳 I mean… I was lost for words 👎🏼

Was disappointed, meant to be a mixed kebab looked more like a childs portion and the pitta was stale chicken was tasty but was let down by the what looked like to be slightly discoloured salad definitely not today. Freindly staff tho

Food was really nice and have had the same meal twice now it was that good.it was the shish kebab with pitta bread,salad and sauces.if your looking for a nice tasting takeaway and have it delivered hot when it is delivered then verona is the place to be.id give it an excellent for food and service.

Food turns up late and cold. Rang after waiting over an hour amd the response was oh well ither orders came in They do not care about customer loyalty so will not order again .

Verona takeaway has a large extensive menu of pizza, kebabs, burgers, omelette, and chicken dishes. The pizzas and chicken dishes are excellent. The salad that came with the chicken was very good. The place is spotlessly clean and it's nice that you can see your meals being prepared. The staff were nice and friendly and there is a large free car park.

Food is always lovely, but they love recently been forgetting things off our orders. Then take ages to send it.

been using veronas for a few years just had a delivery, won't be ordering again pizza was freezing on arrival, food recently feels like its gone down bad will not be getting again

They tell you 45 mins for delivery and it turns up cold 2 hours later and dont answer your calls unless you ring off a different number food aint that great any more gone right down hill

Absolutely shocking told me 45 minutes to an hour 2 hours later not answering my calls but did when I hid my number the food was cold and the worst we have ever had the salad was warmer then the food

Disgusted tonight waiting over 2 hours and still not here that was 30/40 mins not even a apology at work all day tomorrow and starving now

Been a long time since I've been to Verona. Decided to give it a try again as the missus wanted Pisa pizza (which wasn't on our usual takeaways menu), so glad we did. I ordered and collected within 20mins and the food was being wrapped as I walked in. The place looked fresh and clean, and it was nice to be able to see the kitchen area. The food was absolutely spot on! Very tasty and cooked perfectly. The large chips were enough for a family of 4 too.

Paid 33 pound to treat my family absolute disaster , food cooked on burnt oil, all pizzas burnt and feedback from owner was obnoxious, didn't want to know , don't waste your money here

This place is a joke 1hr 55 mins for a delivery. Food come burnt. My children even turned there nose up. Call the take away to complain and they put the phone down. Really good customer care x

3 piece chicken and chips!!! Spicy chicken fillets with don't even know what garlic chips these are ment to be . Will never order from these again !

Nothing wrong with the food at all, decent grub..but when I go in to order a kebab and 'small' fries, I don't expect to be charged £8.20 for a Medium kebab and large chips. On top of that, not only do they forget my chips....when I go back to complain they give me a small chips when theyd already charged me more...simply not good enough. Get better more competant staff, not teenagers from year 10

Just had Mediterranean pizza pepperoni and chips thoroughly enjoyed great delivery service very happy

The kebabs from here are amazing..plenty of meat and salad..so tasty.. would highly recommend

Has to be one of the worst burger and chips i have ever had , the fries were only just warm and they were hard and burnt, wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. 😠🙁

We always used to use Verona, and even left 5* reviews for them - the food quality was good, portion size fantastic and was generally always ready on time. However not only have they upped the cost of everything (quite significantly), the quality was much poorer, portion sizes very small and it took ages for the order. we made a telephone order for collection on Friday night thinking it would be quicker than a delivery... We were stood waiting for a long time, there was groups of teens hanging around and climbing all over the seating area but not once did any of the staff tell them to behave and stop climbing over the seating (even more crucial during covid 19!)..There was no chip spice on the chips despite making a request for this, the sauces were missing and the salad box was half empty. We ordered combo kebab as we always have done which we share but the portion was so small this time it was only enough for one person. The meat was dry and quality poor. The pizza seemed okay but we never tried this so can't comment, however that's the only reason we gave 3 stars and not less. We I don't think we will be visiting again and that's a real shame.

Everytime i get food from here without fail its amazing. Never once have i had bad food. Comes hot and so tasty.

Absolutely horrible,, don't listen to what you ask for over the phone, get the orders wrong, try to pay with a card but they say cash only when we have a lock down and 2 meter policy, won't be using them again!!!

Absolutely rank worst takeaway ever rude when I rang up and said how bad it was ! Pizza dry chips dry and re cooked don't waste your money on this place

First time I've tried this pizza shop and the food is lovely, really hot, pizza topping is plentiful, Donna meat was tasty. I just wished they'd deliver to us, we are a small hamlet with just the one street and only 5 miles away but we'll definatley use them again we'll just have to phone the order and collect.

Always come here, the wife loves the pizza and I the kebabs, food very tasty and plenty of it. Staff very friendly and helpful gets very busy over the weekend period and specially teatime till 8pm

What rip off merchants!! Went to buy donner meat and chips and they wanted to charge me an extra 80p because I asked for the salad and sauces separately! Never experienced this before in a take away, everywhere else I go are happy to do this, tried to point out to the young girl behind the counter that all she would be doing was putting what would be put on my food into a container but she just didn't get it! Didn't have a clue! She just shrugged and said it was probably the cost of the container! - total cost would be approx 5p!! Total greed!! Will never go there again - wanted to give nil stars but not able to!!

still nice but not as good as it used to be. I always used to order the Chicken Tikka pizza was to die for with oozing toppings. Bring back the old recipe I say!

Just ordered a mixed special kebab and a 8Oz steak and a pizza the food was amazing staff very friendly would recommend verona takeaway to anyone been the best takeaway I've had for a long time and food was nice and hot. ty too all the staff. J kelso

Third order recently. Third mistake and no offer to rectify it as they are "too busy". Will never be visiting again.

I've had a few donner meats from here and the first few were really good. Well cooked donner meat and crispy fries. But the last couple have been disappointing. The fries were soggy and the donner meat was very under cooked. As if it had been cut off the rotating grill way too soon. Every place can have an off night but this is now regular. Thought I'd found a good place but now we have got to search again for a decently cooked donner meat. Sad.

Verona is a very nice take away and can even handle complex orders. They do not skimp when it comes portion sizes.
