Verdi's in Swansea

Called in to the take away counter with my 1 year old on our walk and I was very disappointed that there was not any dairy free ice cream on offer, not only that that three people straight after me asked for the exact same. They have vegan vanilla ice cream which i was told still contained traces of cows milk. Very disappointed and will not be returning on our visits to the Mumbles.

Verdi’s is a staple of visits to Mumbles, almost a must go. Having lived here all my life, I still enjoy going here with friends or family. Their icecream sundaes are incredible and their food isn’t bad however, the prices are rather expensive for what you get and that’s its flaw really. The tables are very close together so there’s no privacy and the seats aren’t that comfortable / the tables aren’t that big but I guess from time to time it’s a nice time.

Lovely coffee and pastries, staff friendly and helpful, very quick service, lovely position and lovely views, will definitely visit again..

We have been regular customers at Verdi’s since it first opened. Unfortunately since the change of management, it has gone downhill. Inside - tables are left dirty, staff members stand around chatting when there are dirty tables around. Portion sizes have got smaller. Outside - we ordered a regular size take away sundae from the kiosk, as we have done for years. This used to cost approx £3.50. Was told that they now only serve large chocolate sundaes outside at £6.45 each. With no option for a regular size. We didn’t buy one and won’t be returning. Hopefully the management will take note before more loyal, long term customers also stop visiting.

Love visiting here with family. Great views and ice cream is delicious. Have noticed that the portion sizes are smaller since the new ownership but the taste is still great. Will definitely return for another visit.

Good food as usual. Seated outside as we had our dog with us. We come to Mumbles from England twice a year. We love it. Verdis is always our first stop. Tonight it was ruined by a large table of bikers sitting outside. Swearing loudly, discussing their sexual exploits and drug taking - all at top volume. Clearly drunk. It was 7.30 pm. The management needs to monitor the outside area. Most diners at the time were clearly affected by this one big group and their appalling behaviour. So disappointed. We’ve been coming to Verdis for 20 years but tonight was not a positive experience.

It is what it is. Good food that’s served really quickly. Very slick operation regardless of how busy it is. Good choice on menu of pasta and pizza plus a few specials. Great location. Very popular. Great service. To get those 5 stars, would be great if there was seafood pasta dish. There’s a prawn pasta but it comes with chorizo - would be easy to adapt.

Not the same food, not the same service. My family and I have been going to Verdis at least once a month for over 10 years. The service has always been very quick and the food hot and tasty. I’m not sure what has changed but in our most recent visit, the food took ages to come we had to ask twice how long it will be and when it arrived it was not good. The toasted sandwiches used to be amazing, but it appears they are now using store bought cheap bread, our toasted sandwiches were paper thin. And when my wife asked for some brown sauce the waitress said ‘ sorry we don’t do that any more’ So really disappointed that it’s gone down hill massively. We noticed a number of other people around us also complaining about the service and the food whilst we were there.

Do not go to Verdi's, if you require Vegan or Dairy Free cakes, which I now find are available at the majority of coffee shops I visit. Ordered a cake which I thought was OK, but when it came, appeared to have cream on the top, confirmed by the server. Did not like the manager's attitude when I queried it, and in the end had a refund as I was fed up of waiting for them to check the ingredients with the bakery

We have been going to Verdi’s, Mumbles for many years. Today, as it was my birthday we decided to go for lunch and I chose the vegetarian pizza, what a total waste of money. It was paper thin, no herbs or garlic to give it flavour, in fact, it was absolutely tasteless. Do not waste your money on pizza. I’ve heard it’s under new management, it certainly does not compare to the previous visits. Will not be rushing back.

What has happened to Verdis Change of owners,change of food quality and service.I took my wife for a BD lunch and she chose Pizza, which did not appear to have been made on the premises and tasted bland .Some of the waiters appeared disheveled and their service was certainly below the service we had under the previous owners Verdis has always had an authentic Italian feel to it ,but is now an overpriced cafe.Very disappointed and won't be returning for a while

A lovely cold and bright afternoon on the Mumbles seafront. It was bit too cold for most to sit outside so there was a queue for the inside tables, but we were quickly seated near one of the many windows with stunning views across Swansea Bay. There was also a bit of a mix up over which specials we had ordered, but the friendly and efficient staff got it sorted and we had possibly the best seafood pasta we’ve ever tasted, with generous pieces of fish, prawns, local cockles in a rich spicy tomato sauce, helped in my case with a glass of nice red italian wine. We didn’t really have room for a sweet, but it would have been rude not to. So we shared a splendid Knickerbocker Glory with fresh fruit. We needed a stroll on the promenade afterwards to help it all go down. Beyond the beauty of Swansea Bay the dramatic industrial landscape of Port Talbot steelworks was still so prominent. It will look so different and empty when the mighty blast furnaces close in a few months.

Pizza more like a crepe. Didn't look homemade. Lasagne looked unappetising with green pasta. Sauce had a skin and was tasteless. Food came out 5 mins after ordering so clearly wasn't freshly made. Very disappointing

Verdi’s is always our go-to destination when we visit Mumbles and it never disappoints. The best lattes, milkshakes and cake in town, along with perfect pizzas and pastas. It also has a fantastic range of gluten-free options for coeliac diners.
