Excellent Saturday mid afternoon lunch, very friendly staff and brilliant with our 4 children.

Great meal as always. Booked in for a mini celebration and the food service and atmosphere were all great as always, so lucky to have this local and in walking distance

Had a fabulous lunch yesterday, we had the two course lunch offer for £12.99. I had the crispy prawn starter which was delicious followed by the Chicken which was tender and had a lovely sauce on and came with good selection of veg. Why this restaurant is not fully booked at lunch time I do no know, it overlooks the village pond and is well decorated. You have to try it, you won't be disappointed!

We came for the £12.95 lunch , which is amazing value.We both had the Greek salad which was perfect.I then had the baked aubergines which came in a delicious gooey cheesy sauce.My husband had a gammon steak with vegetables which he said was excellent. The service was attentive. We also had a lovely view overlooking a duck pond. Couldn’t fault it.Thank you.

Had a lovely meal tonight (52nd wedding anniversary) which was then marred by a member of staff running after us to the car park to ask if we'd paid and who took our payment.Yes we had paid, had receipt and gave a £5 cash tip.Spoiled what started out as a lovely evening. And no apology

Such a shame…as we were so looking forward to going with family. Was so lovely to see the place so busy early Friday evening,but what was very evidently clear was that there was not enough staff to serve a very full restaurant. This let it down very badly…very slow service …getting on for nearly an hour before we got our garlic breads. Not great for what was very average food when it did arrive

We visited with a group of friends and had a delicious meal with you. Due to distances being travelled, we were not all on time. Your staff treated us respectfully at all times and the service was friendly, prompt and excellent. All of our food was cooked and presented well. You were able catering for one of our number who is vegan and provided him with a super alternative. Thank you once again.

I visited 26/07/24 for a celebration lunch with several friends. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. My meal was excellent and washed down with some excellent white wine. I enjoyed a casual coffee afterwards while we conversed with one another in a genuinely relaxed atmosphere !. One small piece of feedback : Some friends had to wait for their choices as there were not too many staff on hand. I and others were lucky in being served in a reasonable time but the whole atmosphere was relaxed I felt. All considered ,I can wholeheartedly recommend Verdes and I will be back!.

Our first visit with friends we had the best time. We greeted with warmth given lots of attention, even though the restaurant was busy with a large celebration party we still felt that we were looked after. Our food came in good time and was delicious. We sat in the bar area after our meal for Few more drinks and we’re not rushed out. A lovely couple of hours spent on a Sunday afternoon. Would highly recommend Verdes to anyone looking for, somewhere to eat in this area. We live in Penwortham and it only took us a 15 minute journey.

We had our granddaughters 21st meal here today, we've not been before but will definitely go back. The food was amazing, generous portions, even on the kids menu. The staff were great

Great Monday lunch meal for the family, good sign that it's busy and good and service great and very reasonable.

Took ages to be seated, partially ignored, phone was ringing for ages, 1 staff running about like a loon; had to ask to move as the table wobbled so badly and was about to be levelled up with a serviettes. Took ages to take our order, nearly walked out then as others had arrived after us and were well on the way with orders. Phone continuously left ringing and 1 staff still doing everything at great speed; an accident waiting to happen. Food arrived, average at best. Pizza base was very doughy albeit thin. Niece didn't rate the wine choice either. Waited ages to finally pay,as yet again phone rang, and they left us whilst the diary consulted...... definitely not enough staff on, nice place but style over substance won't be returning.

Second visit in a week to this little gem. Greeted like a friend by Mario. Amazing varied menu and very reasonable prices. Staff so helpful, especially today as we called in 15 mins before closing time. Two course specials menu exceptionally good value with plenty of choice. Will certainly be returning very soon. I would suggest though , for evening dining to check availability beforehand as it is very busy. Give it a try ...you wont be disappointed.

Had a lovely meal even though staff were thin on the ground however on leaving a lady who we believe was the owners daughter was giving the young bar staff and waiting staff a telling off . Now we found along with the couple behind us this to be very uncomfortable and very disrespectful to the hardworking staff. It was very unprofessional from someone who actually said “ I don’t work here “ . If you’ve any issues speak to your owner father or duty manager

First of all let's start with the positives. The restaurant has a lovely location overlooking a lively pond. The service was friendly and attentive. My main issues were the food which tasted bland and underseasoned. The garlic bread snd pizza base just lacked flavour or crispiness. It tasted a bit starchy as if made with cheap flour. The tomato was tasteless on the pizza. Buffalo mozzarella didn't seem to be on the menu but would have made a difference to the flavour. I though pizza was a safe bet but I can honestly make better at home.

It is a beautiful place to dine chill and unwind.

Went with some friends, looks lovely on the outside, plenty of parking, lovely interior and views over the pond but thats about it. Waitering was slow and quite frankly not a single smile between the whole of the staff. We had to ask for a replacement drink as the glass was absolutely covered in red lipstick round the rim, no apologies and charged us for the drink. Food service was slow, starters came out at different times, calamari thick, cold and rubbery, could only stomach one, garlic bread lovely, pizzas lovely but nothing special. Tiramisu very very dry and tasteless, Morrisons do better. Been to many Italian restaurants and this one fell flat, no friendly atmosphere, food average and staff miserable. Won't be going again.

Very good value, first waiter a little abrupt, but 2 others who also served us were lovely. Pizza very thin crust, hot and delicious. Starters nice salad and home made soup. The place was spotless.

Food did not match the ambience or service in the restaurant. My partner was served mouldy bread and his pizza far too salty and soggy to enjoy. I couldn’t eat my roast the beef was too tough to cut even with a steak knife. Extremely disappointed. Left us both feeling quite unwell.

Absolutely shocking place to eat. My meal the beef stroganoff £25 with microwaved rice was less than equivalent to a tesco value ready meal with the potion size less than a weight watchers ready frozen ready meal. My wife had the steak £35 which was smothered in gravy to hide small pieces of cat food. Anyone who gives this place more than 1 star normally eats pot noodles at home. I walked out!

Went there for a birthday meal, a party of 14 people. Everyone got their food at the same time and the food was delicious and fresh. Would highly recommend. It was on a Saturday night and it was packed.

We have visited Verdes a number of times to meet up with my parents, on each occasion everything has been spot on, Good Service with a bit of banter, good food and a nice place Not bad prices either. Will be back again

Came for my partners birthday and the staff made it really special. We booked in advance and were seated promptly on a Tuesday eve. Our garlic bread was brought over really fast and the service was great as usual. We both ordered from the Carne section and everything was cooked to perfection. We ordered dessert and they brought a chocolate cake with a candle and sang happy birthday much to my other half’s embarrassment. Thank you for a good one Verdes.

My wife and I had been looking forward to spending our 52nd wedding anniversary at Verdes and the experience completely spoiled our day. We had made a reservation for 6pm a number of weeks before and arrived at 5.55pm. We announced to the young lady behind the bar that we had a 6pm reservation and was asked would we sit and have a drink whilst waiting for our table. A waiter suddenly appeared and asked would we like a table for 2. We tried to explain that we had pre booked but he didn't seem interested and never checked on our reservation. We were offered a choice of tables. I always thought that if you had made a reservation that a certain table would have been allocated to you so that if the restaurant was exceptionally busy your table would still be available. We were given the menus and ordered drinks while deciding on what to eat. Some 25 minutes passed before I managed to make contact with a waiter and asked if we could order. When our starters arrived my wifes order was wrong. Apology accepted as we can all make mistakes and the correct order duly arrived. My wife had ordered steak diane with the steak to be med to rare and I ordered the beef stroganoff. The steak was well done and my portion of stroganoff was tiny for the price of £23.99. I would have got a more substantial meal for £8.00 from Tesco's finest range. My wife would not let me complain as she does not like confrontation so I said I would wait till we paid. Both of us having a sweet tooth we ordered desserts. The waiter didn't seem to know what the cheesecake was so my wife ordered strawberries and ice cream while I ordered profiteroles with ice cream. The order arrived with some half a dozen strawberries cut in half and a blob of ice cream and 3 profiteroles with fresh cream. Enough was enough and we didn't bother with coffees. Throughout our time here all of the staff we encountered showed nothing but apathy. Not once did any of them try to engage with us, smile or show any concern as to whether we were enjoying the experience. Only when I went to pay the bill was I asked was everything ok. Whilst the wife waited in the hallway I patiently (for me) went through all the issues we had experienced. Offering an apology the chap offered me a bottle of wine as a form of compensation. Sorry but a bottle of wine on the menu might be £20 but it probably only cost the restaurant a fiver. I refused and paid the bill in full stating that we would never return. While waiting for our lift the waiter who mixed up the starter came to apologise again. I the told him all of the other issues we had had and it would be fair to say he was left speechless. So thank you very much Verdes for spoiling our 52nd wedding anniversary.

Ifni could give a zero or a minus i would . 25 years of dining out and first time ever encountered the most shocking service , attitude and ignornace by staff at a resteraunt ever. Waiters/Waitresses like rabbits caught in some headlights . The Manager or whomever acted like it on the night , completely unapologetic and when I stated that what was happening was terrible, simply shrugged his shoulders and didn't show an ounce of care . Visited Verdes shortly after opening, it was pleasantly quiet and staff were welcoming. Service was fab, wait times for food were minimal. Food portions were great, I left Verdes feeling full and happy. Also, I was impressed with the vast wine menu. I don't visit Chorley / Eccleston often but when I return I'll definitely be dining here again.

Busy Friday evening between Christmas and new year, went with friends. Couldn’t fault anything, the food was great, the service was lovely. Highlight was definitely the menu menu 🍷 Thank you verdes!

The worst experience we’ve ever had at verdes. Shocking service, long wait times and terrible attitude from staff. Advertising cocktails of the day to be told ‘I’m not making one I’m too busy’ 25 minutes before we were even acknowledged by stays. Had to ask the bar man for a drink Sat at the table and a further hour and half for the food to arrive. Food bland and no where near as good as what it used to be. Has it changed ownership?? Will not be visiting again

Very disappointing service. Rude barman. We asked for a Pornstar Martini and he said he didn't have time to make one and we must choose something else. There was a sign on the bar saying "Pornstar Martini's £11", I gave it him and told him to put it behind the bar!! All this was after he had ignored us for 10 minutes while we sat at the bar. You could feel the pressure from the mail staff members, who looked and acted as though the world was on their shoulders, it wasn't a nice experience.

Went twice in a week for daughters birthday - once for family, once for friends. Food was absolutely 1st class !! I have to then say the service was A Star PLUS !! The guys simply couldn't do enough for us during the evening. The chef even made a a fuss of the kids keeping them occupied. I couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

This place has a very nice vibe and the food is lovely. My wife and I love this place as we can get small potions of pasta dishes. The car park is quite small but there is street parking aswell.

Not bad but not great, pizza soggy bottom, waiters need a bit of Ho Ho Ho.

Pizza was good - but very slow to get food from ordering and erratic service - it wasn’t that busy, but I had to chase a drink order four times and with different wait staff. The premises are nice, very clean and well set out, but they need a bit of tightening up on who is serving which section.

The service was brilliant and the food was superb. Highly recommended. We live local and its definitely got better.

My friend and I dined here yesterday evening. The staff were really friendly, the restaurant was busy (even for a Monday evening) but plenty of room between tables. The food was excellent and really good service. We both shared garlic bread with cheese, I had cannelloni which was so delicious and my friend had pasta with chicken and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We thought it was well priced too. The restaurant is a lovely restaurant and plenty of parking. This could definitely become my new go to for Italian food. I highly recommend Verdes.

A pleasant evening - good service. Of the 4 of us I was the only pizza eater .. totally overloaded with cheese sadly. After a 1/4 no more ! The other 3 had pasta dishes which they polished off …

Had a great evening out with my husband. Our waitress Christina was so lovely and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. I had deep fried brie with cranberry sauce, followed by lasagne. We shared a large tomato garlic bread. Hubby had shelled garlic prawns on toast, lasagne and we shared profiteroles with ice-cream. There is such a large choice on the menu and I thought reasonably priced. We hadn't been for absolutely years, but will definitely be returning soon.

We went here as a family treat. We’ve been here multiple times and I’ve been impressed a few times but this time was definitely the best. To start I ordered the bbq ribs. They were cooked beautifully and had plenty flavour. The orange added tang and we’re a great touch. Also we ordered a garlic bread for the table and I’d go as far as to say it was the best I’ve ever ate. For main I had the pepperoni pizza. The pepperoni was cooked nicely alongside the cheese. These also had a nice amount but I thought they could’ve added a bit more sauce to the pizza. The portion size was also perfect and value for money was 10/10. For dessert I ordered the fudge cheesecake. They brought the normal fudge cake but I ate it anyway and don’t regret it one bit. The cake was warm and the sauce was oozing. It tasted so good. The set of staff that served us were kind fast and helpful. I also love the modern scenery in this restaurant. The duck pond also adds to this. Overall I’d highly recommend you pay this place a visit. You won’t regret it!

Visited here for dinner with friends and we all really enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly and attentive and we got a fab view of the lake as the sun was setting.

Visited here for a nice girly lunch and was appalled at the poor service and food. I ordered the 'roast of the day' (Beef) and specifically asked the waiter for extra vegetable instead of any potatoes as I try to not have carbs. The meal arrived accompanied by a bowl of boiled potatoes and I explained that this was not what I asked for. The potatoes were taken away and I was assured that they would get some vegetables instead and he apologised. Between ten-fifteen minutes later they came back with a bowl containing a few peas, 3 discs of carrot and some extremely mushy cauliflower. The veg was in fact still partially frozen and so clearly not freshly cooked. Again, they apologised and said they would replace the frozen veg. five minutes later they realised my now stone cold beef and gravy needed re-heating and so took it away to microwave and returned with the microwaved veg and beef. I then asked from some horseradish sauce and was told the 'chef had forgotten to order it'. In addition to this, the waiter smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and alcohol and indeed we saw him smoking outside the front door of the restaurant as we left.....not a particularly good look for an establishment. I left hungry and disappointed. No reduction in the bill on payment or even a complimentary coffee etc. Will not return.

It's a very busy place and I don't think the food is worth the price. We all had a pizza each, with a very thin hard crust and some flavours on top.

Lovely little gem of a restaurant, we enjoyed it so much so that we’ve been twice in the past week 😀 The staff are very friendly and attentive, we ordered a selection of different meals from the menu and it was all cooked to perfection. I’d definitely recommend Verdes to anyone looking for a lovely authentic Italian that serves high quality dishes with attentive staff.

Food was nice and fresh. Although Service wasn’t too great and it was rather loud but not too full I would visit here again just based on the food 🙂

On entering the restaurant we were very impressed with the interior which feels very upmarket. Sadly that's where the positives began and ended. Despite booking in advance there was no record of this on arrival. It actually felt a bit chaotic and disorganised. The dishes we opted for just happened to be on the early evening meal deal menu. We soon discovered that meal deal dishes are very small portions. To be honest everything looked as if it was supplied wholesale and just heated up rather than prepared and cooked from fresh. The staff seemed to have been instructed to hover and ask constantly if everything is OK/ready to order, etc, so you do feel like you are being rushed to eat and vacate asap. We had two courses and we were in and out within 45 minutes. It's unlikely we will be making a return visit.

Went at lunch was quiet but had a lovely table overlooking the pond and the girls enjoyed watching the ducklings 🐥. Food was nice. I shared a pizza with my friend as we wasn't that hungry.

Verde's has been the stand out Italian restaurant in the area for a long time now.

We have been regularly to Verdes as we always enjoy our time there for many reasons. Reasons being, you are greeted so lovely and welcoming by the Manager Giuseppe, who is such a warm hearted, polite Gentleman. The bar staff who are there when you walk in are very friendly and welcoming too. The restaurant staff are very attentive, making sure you have everything. The kitchen staff are really good at what they do, prepare, cook and present food on your plate in a professional manner. Atmosphere is wonderful with Italian music in the background adds to the ambiance Verdes never disappoints and deservedly we give 5 Stars!

Lovely place, very inviting with a lovely view over the pond if you can get a table by the window. The food has been fab both on both of my visits here, especially the starter of deep fried whitebait and calamari. The service is spot on and I consider the prices great too.

Great family restaurant with excellent well priced food

Waitresses are spoken to like crap and told me they don’t receive any tips EVER . !!! Wow Don’t get paid after 9pm for overtime ?? Isn’t that illegal . And are made to feel intimidated Won’t be gojng there ever again !!

It was sons 18th birthday yesterday and went for a family meal there was 15 of us staff where absolutely amazing and couldn’t do enough .. food was amazing and price was extremely reasonable considering the quality you got . Thankyou . Julie

I went to Verde's with a group of friends and it was nice but nothing to write home about but expensive. I had ribs to start which were ~£9 followed by a fish pizza ~£13. One thing I did notice was price of starters; creamy mushrooms were £9.90 and black pudding bruschetta was £10.25 which I thought was extortionate. Service was good and they were on point with when drinks were low.

A great catch up with friends and the food was lovely we had a mixture of steaks and pasta which were all amazing we will definitely be returning

The Starters were fine, but the mains were way below the standards we've experienced at Verdes before it was taken over. I ordered a charcoal grilled steak, which was very bland, and the vegetables that came with it were swimming in water. After we had started our meal, from nowhere a bowl of spinach was thrown on the table again swimming in water. Verdes used to be our go-to italian restaurant for special occasions, which this was, but I have to say I won't be going back anytime soon. So disappointing ☹️

Food tasted good. Service was rushed but pleasant . Different prices online to the printed menus which is deceitful. Atmosphere was like any other restaurant however felt rushed and chaotic because staff were so busy.

We were visiting family in the area and went to Verdes for an evening meal. Spacious with nice decor, very pleasant location by water pond. Welcoming, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Varied menu and wine list, lots of choice, reasonable prices. Food was of good quality and well presented. Very enjoyable evening, great shame we don't live locally to this restaurant as we would be regular visitors! Thank you Verdes.

Arrived and tried to order the tempura prawns with teriyaki sauce. Asked if they had milk in and got told they didn't know because the packet hadn't got any ingredients on. Very concerning that they are serving dishes with no knowledge of the allergens. Mains arrived. Fish was rubbery and overcooked. Waitress forgot our round of drinks. Dessert options had nothing for vegan/dairy free. Asked for a coffee and was told they had no alternative Milks. Overall, really poor for anyone with allergens. Did not get asked why I'd left half of the fish either when the plates were taken away. Will not be returning.

Attended for an early evening meal . Seated straight away , Ordered ribs starter and mains lasagna and pizza . Food was perfect, staff were great . Seen some negative reviews and Certainly didn’t experience anything that wasn’t perfect on our visit .
