Ventana Grand Cafe in Bournemouth

Had a lovely lunch today, celebrating a friends birthday. It was very relaxed and we didn't feel rushed, Michael our waiter- front of house (hope I got his name right, I'm very forgetful when it comes to names!) was very attentive and made sure or visit went without a hitch, the service was excellent as was the food. We didn't have a dessert as we had our own cake, which the restaurant were happy for us to have, they supplied plates and a knife to cut the cake. They also brought the birthday girl a plate decorated with happy birthday and some little cakes, a lovely touch. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our visit special.

Came to ventana grand café yesterday for a ladies Christmas lunch and it was such a disappointment, I organise lots of events there and have always been so happy with the service and ambience, I don’t know what happened yesterday , it started with the bar no one to serve our drinks we had to keep going up to the bar to try and find someone to take a drinks order as we sat in the lounge first , our table was booked for 1.30 as we were told on booking that it was busy till then Micheal even called me to check on the booking and confirm numbers so they knew we were booked in , I don’t know where everyone was as we were one of 3 tables , no one came and asked us to sit down we were in the lounge till 2 .15pm and went in ourselves to be sat there for another half hour we helped ourselves to water and again had to go to the bar for our drinks , eventually we managed to get someone to take our order by the time we had our starters it was 3 o’clock then to top it all off there was a power cut and we were all sat in darkness , if we had been told there was a problem we would have gone somewhere else but with 7 hungry ladies it’s difficult at 3 pm to find some where so we had to just grin and bear it , I don’t know why there wasn’t a manager to be seen until 5 o’clock when we were leaving , food was good but the service very poor

The waiters and waitresses were very attentive and willing to meet our every request. The food came promptly and was of very high quality and hot!!! Would definitely recommend to my friends and shall be returning.

This is the second time my partner and I have eaten at the Ventana Grand Cafe. As with our previous visit, we really enjoyed our experience. The food was really deserving of its reputation. My partner and I chose a full three courses and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The ingredients were of high quality, fresh and thoughtfully selected to compliment one another. The portion sizes whilst not huge were more than filling and very tasty. In addition to excellent food, the service was first class - really attentive and friendly without being intrusive by all members of staff that served us. We will definitely make a return visit when we are next in Bournemouth.

Not surprised we were the only people there if this is typical. Cold lamb horrible vegetables swimming in water like gravy. Had an email to say Ventana now serving brunch on Sundays between ten and half twelve @ £12.50 including toast and hot drink The food was greasy and cold at best lukewarm with absolutely no presentation. Seemed likely it was the remains of the breakfast buffet even the toast was cold. Three stars are for the excellent pot of tea and the pleasure of eating on the delightful terrace in warm weather but definitely not an experience to repeat. As locals we have enjoyed many meals in the Mirabelle and Ventana restaurants so very disappointed

My partner and myself were strolling along the front when we stumbled across the Ventana grand cafe and thought we’d have a spot of lunch. The sign said all welcome. Now I’m quite a large guy and I have a full body tattoo and my partner has many too. This shouldn’t even be a part of any review but on this occasion it’s where our experience begins. As soon as we arrived the guy holding reception (div in a cheap blue suit and glasses) began looking us up and down like we had no business being there. After asking if we’d booked a table (nearly every table was empty) we were finally seated. No one came near us again so after 15 minutes I had to go and ask for drinks. The menu said that the pink gin (£10 a glass) came with a botanic mixer. We were told we could have soda water or coke. Then finally we were graced with ordering food. My partner ordered the £19 ceaser salad. When it came it was as dry as a bone so she requested a little more dressing. What came out was a small bowl of Mayo from a squeezy bottle like you’d get from Asda. On departure I said goodbye to the div in glasses and a cheap blue suit and he simply looked away like I wasn’t even there. Who do you people think you are. You’re in Bournemouth not st. Tropez. Never again and if I did, it would only be to drown the div in glasses and his cheap blue suit in your little puddle you call a swimming pool. Pretentious and rude. If you’re not perfect looking, don’t bother……. You’re not good enough

I had a very decent dining experience at Ventana restaurant in Bournemouth. Adriana, the team leader, showcased her expertise throughout the evening. The crispy duck was well-prepared, offering a satisfying mix of flavors. The salmon with scallops was enjoyable, presenting a balanced combination. The overall experience was really great.

Our hotel has a leak, we found ventana grand cafe last minute for dining options. They were very good to confirm our reservation so near to closing time. Salmon steak with scallops were delicious. Child friendly also. Daughter enjoyed herself.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the Bournemouth area. I recently visited this lovely venue & was not disappointed. The service is not what it was before Covid - something noticable at most restaurants these days. & always depend on how busy they are at the time you book. The hospitality industry was affected in so many ways during Covid & later with Staff shortages & increased energy costs. of It's worth buying a card directly from Tastecard or similar restaurant discount cards. While there are conditions, "2 for 1" specials on Sundays worked in our favour. (It did not include drinks.) At the moment there is a special "2 for 1" offer available Monday-Thursday (12-9pm) and Fridays (12-3pm). Its always best to check if this offer is still on as it ends at the end of May & there are conditions eg. the discount cards cannot be used in conjunction with the hotel's "2 for 1" offer. On one occasion we booked the special afternoon tea (£40 for 2); it was superb ! Beautifully prepared sandwiches, scones & cakes were presented with a pot of tea or a speciality coffee. We were also given a surprise "taster" which was delicious & totally unexpected. Birthdays & Baby Showers sometimes gather in the afternoon for special tea-time or lunch celebrations. I highly recommend the Ventana to those who enjoy a quieter, relaxing yet plush venue; it's a perfect place to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary!

Early afternoon\late lunch I had the belly pork and it was excellent. A meaningful serving of green vegetables. Both plenty of berries in the jus, AND slices of apple. Mixed beetroots as the carbs. Very tasty, well prepared, and a reasonable price at £20 given the location and economy. Two thumbs!

We stopped by for lunch and chose to sit outside. We ordered mussels, a salad with baked salmon, and 2 drinks. My husband got his wine right after he had paid at the bar, but a glass of tap water and a nonalcoholic cocktail were never delivered to our table. My husband ended up going back to the bar in like 20 min to get them picked up, albeit there were more than enough waiters to do this. The place was empty inside and half occupied at the terrace. After another 20 min mussels came and they tasted good (the bread that came with them was weirdly sweet though). 15 min later we were delivered the salad with no salmon! Needless to say it took them another 20 min to bake the fish… no apologies, no complimentary drinks or desserts were offered, nothing. All in all the food was good, however, overpriced, but the service wasn’t great in our case.

Tuvimos un delicioso almuerzo para el cumpleaños de mi esposa. La comida era excelente y el ambiente en el restaurante es genial. Toda la experiencia fue una experiencia maravillosa por RODRIGO que hizo todo lo posible para cuidarnos. Es un mérito del hotel y claramente disfruta de lo que hace. Mi amigo y yo almorzamos aquí hoy, aprovechando el esquema de 'Comer fuera para ayudar' que el hotel Cumberland sigue funcionando los primeros días de la semana. Quedamos muy impresionados con las precauciones que se tomaron, se tomaron muchos desinfectantes de manos y se tomaron nuestras temperaturas y se registraron los números de teléfonos móviles. La comida era excelente, teníamos un entrante y un plato principal cada uno, pero no había espacio para un postre. El vino es caro. El ambiente era tranquilo y relajado y el servicio atento pero discreto. El único inconveniente que tuvimos fueron los asientos, en sillas blandas tipo "cubo" que encontramos demasiado bajas para la altura de la mesa y que no daban apoyo. Cuando le mencionamos esto a un miembro del personal, los asientos se cambiaron por sillas de comedor tapizadas ordinarias que eran muy cómodas y mucho más adecuadas.

Me uní a una familia en un breve descanso de las Midlands (vivimos en Southampton) para almorzar. ¡Encantado de salir a comer para ayudar con la extensión del 50% de descuento hasta finales de noviembre! ! !La comida era fabulosa, mi madre adoraba sus 6 ostras frescas que costaban 7, mi ensalada de queso de cabra caliente era la mejor que había probado en mucho tiempo y al resto de la fiesta le encantó el pastel de pescado y la panceta de cerdo. Magníficas vistas de Bournemouth y encantado de conocer a Valentina con su fabuloso y amable servicio. ¡Considerando conducir las 35 millas para disfrutar de otra comida!

Comimos aquí cada vez que nos hospedamos en el Cumberland. La comida es realmente excelente, un menú bastante pequeño pero todo siempre está muy bien servido y delicioso. Desde el "amuse bouche" hasta los pudines (panecotta = para morirse), todo es magnífico. Gran ambiente y encantadores camareros. En particular Niles, Angela y Chiara, quienes nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y reservaron nuestra mesa favorita cada noche.
