Vault in Brentwood

BE CAREFUL, ordered a spirit & mixer and was served a double (which I didn’t not ask for or want!)… This has happened on both the last occasions I visited. Luckily I was sober and my taste buds knew how strong this small glass of drink was so I questioned it… Bad business just trying to sell more alcohol to what seems like a more younger crowd these days. Also dangerous to anyone who may be limiting or tracking their drinking. Used to really enjoy a late night stop off at the vault, until recently… Last two times I’ve been in there not only do you have to now pay to get in there & queue, the bar staff (most, not all) and what appears to be a new manager are so so rude… You don’t serve someone a double unless they ask for it!! Be careful everyone not only are you drinking more than you realise, they are charging you more money than you need to spend…!!!

Came here with a large family booking. Had the most amazing time. Singer, Jamie-Leigh was excellent and she entertained the whole crowd. The food was amazing. Rebecca Waitress was brilliant. Very alert and a tentative. Highly recommend

The food was good except the Yorkshire puddings were very oily and soggy due to poor cooking/mixture or both. You have to pay £1.50 for extra gravy which is not good!!! 10% service charge automatically added! But friendly waiter! Under 10s eat free but prices are not cheap. Poor selection of desserts.

Had a most excellent lunch of King Prawn Linguine, New Zealand white wine, Orange and Cardomon Creme Brulee at the Vault Shenfield during my exploration of the new Elizabeth line. Excellent service, good decor well done

Booked online for dinner for a 30th birthday and called on the day to confirm. However after being seated and asking for the menu, we were told they weren’t serving food. Our waiter Sam was very apologetic and went to speak to his manager to see if there was anything that could be done. However when the manager also called Sam (who oddly said he was the owner, when he isn’t) spoke to us he was very rude and said I should have called to make the booking instead of doing it via their website OR checked their ‘socials’ as I would have known there was a bbq that day and they weren’t surviving food after 5pm. He also suggested we go elsewhere as it would take too much time to tidy and prep our food. We did just that. Sam said the deposit paid, would go towards our drinks so we had two 2 free drinks, when there were five people.

Friendly waiter however service was incredibly slow which was surprising given there were only two other customers in the venue. Hard and sharp bone fragment found in burger which caused harm (not surprisingly) - still charged at full cost. Not a place that understands good customer experience/care.

Had a fantastic meal here. The spicy prawn and the scotch egg starter were well presented and very tasty. The mains - Seared trout. Linguine and sweet potato salad again all presented well and were excellent. But what stood out was the exemplary service we received from everyone. Especially the bar supervisor who hand made me a cocktail not on the menu to my exact taste and hand delivered it. Would highly recommend

Went to the vault today with friends as just somewhere to grab s bite to eat - but wow what a pleasant surprise - the food was absolutely fabulous. The Buttermilk chicken starter and fillet steak main were superb - the best meal I have had in a restaurant for several years - and I have done a lot of reviews. My friends had the sirloin and the lamb and were equally impressed. We genuinely cannot wait to go back and would recommend the food to anyone. We had Vish the chef who I must congratulate and apparently Rob the head chef might be even better - so win win. I really cannot recommend the food more - thank you for a great afternoon which ended up being 5 hours.

Had a lovely time at their bottomless brunch, cocktails and food were lovely. Service was exceptional, constantly bringing you new drinks and checking if you need anything. Music was very good too. Overall lovely afternoon out!

8 of us visited for bottomless brunch, what an amazing day! The Vault did not let us down - following all the correct Covid guidelines, we were obviously on 2 separate tables because of the legal limits indoors at the moment. This was not an issue at all. Looked after from the minute we entered until we left - service was outstanding, Michaela was attentive but not over the top, clearly enjoying her job and so polite and friendly - nothing was too much trouble and a real asset to your team - certainly no shortage of fizz, being topped up the minute she saw we were near the end - the Prosecco was lovely and it’s nice to see the Vault using premium brands. In the package you could also choose beer and for a small extra mixers to go with the fizz. Food was spot on - 3 courses and we all had something different from the set menu offered, clean plates all round - fresh, delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere they have absolutely nailed, DJ was playing and the vibe was perfect. We asked to continue outside afterwards and we were lucky enough to get 2 tables to enjoy the sun and some more drinks before we headed home. I would like to spotlight Sam the manager who was excellent, making us comfortable outside and checking we were all enjoying ourselves. Thank you Vault for a fantastic afternoon - hope we didn’t drink too much of your Prosecco! And we will all be back soon. Keep up the high standards you all clearly showing. Oh one last thing…wait until you see the ladies loo’s 👌🏻

Sat outside by the heaters and had a fantastic lunch. Shared the croquettes which were delicious and a little spicy then I had the steak which was cooked to perfection, had medium rare and it melted in my mouth and the flavour was fantastic. It cage with a great sauce. The waitress, was friendly, funny and really helpful. Had a bottle of the Malbec which I’d highly recommend too. Then we had the brownie, which was warm and a perfect way to finish off the meal. Would highly recommend and will be back when this 2nd lockdown ends.

Enjoyed a Sunday Roast here last week. I’ve got to say that the pressure that being put onto these establishments with the rule of 6 and not being able to have a table with people outside of household is paralysing these businesses ability to stay afloat but they have made as many changes as they can to keep everyone safe and give us the well needed treat of being able to have a lovely meal out of the house and not have to do cooking/clearing up and be “around” other people. The roast itself was nice, I especially liked their take on seasonal veg and the vibe despite them having to reduce the amount of tables was still pleasant. Service was a bit stressed but think that was more to do with the added pressure of the new level of restrictions and implications to what they needed to do. Free facemasks were available if you’d forgotten yours and def mention has to go to the ladies loos...design statement! I’ll be supporting local independents like this in any way I can

First visit to The Vault. Excellent food with a professional but friendly service. Lively atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

I presume this was previously a bank premises as it has a bank vault as a feature wall, but the staff were friendly, the drinks variety was good, cocktails enjoyable and a pleasant range of beers and the food that we had good sized for lunch menu and well prices. Unusual black cutlery and black and white toilets kept spotless, this was an excellent place to relax, so we went twice.
