Used to be a regular at Vandal and loved the place. Haven't been for a good 7/8 months so me and my friends thought we'd swing by - it's not the upstairs bar for Whites Tavern. Couldn't see anything announcing the fact Vandal was closed or even when it closed? Shame it was such a good place and their themed nights were always great fun!

Visited this place a few times over the last month for DnD activities, great decor and friendly clientele, but the Male bar staff is incredibly fed up and makes it obvious that he feels you are disturbing him when ordering food or drink. Female Bar Staff are lovely and friendly, but the one male bar staff that seems to be re-occurring during the day is a stark contrast. Each member of our table approached for different orders on different occasions and days and consistently feel that the bartender is rude and arrogant when speaking to customers or delivering food to the table. Even when collecting glasses he appears to have a disposition. If we are visiting an establishment for hours at a time and spending money, it would be much better if the staff didn't make you feel like you were hassling them by patronizing the bar during the visit. Female bar staff that we interacted with were wonderful, but it only made us more aware of how woeful the male bartender's service and attitude was. Members of our party will not be returning because of this.

Dropped in here on a rainy Saturday, it looks a bit outdated as you climb the stairs and open the door, but then you see the big screen (Deadpool was playing), the games consoles, the books and the freak dessert jars and you are instantly transported to a fantasy place. Definitely recommend great food, excellent service and something a bit different hidden in Belfast city centre.

Saw the freakshakes and themed nights advertised on facebook so wanted to go and try. Went here on a rainy afternoon. Had dinner - buy one get one free pizzas with a side and dip. Was really good value. The cocktails are themed which is cool but they are really expensive. I didnāt have an alcoholic drink but the glass i drank from seemed kind of dirty, however iām not one to complain so just sipped. The freakshakes are so big so are classed as a dessert. Didnāt have one, but they were Ā£7 and there were a good selection. The place is quite small, iām not sure how they do themed events there but iāve never been to one so canāt comment. It is down a dodgy looking alleyway and does look a bit dodgy from the outside but it is actually in the city center The decor is quite cool with video game controllers hanging from the roof! Also video game wallpaper and game stations and board games which you can play. Iād say it is a bit like Cuckoo on the Lisburn Road. To be honest I thought the place was a bit grubby all in all so Iām giving it 3 stars.

Shame to see some negative reviews on here - visited this restaurant after following their Facebook page for quite a while. The interior is very cool and different and there is a very relaxed atmosphere. We came on a Saturday afternoon where there was a movie on the big screen in the background, lots of board games free to play (we played two quick ones waiting on food), free comics to read, Mario Kart free to play. I ordered pizza after seeing someone else order it and I wasnāt disappointed! Dripping in cheese! I also got a themed cocktail. The only downfall I saw was that only one waiter was serving the bar and all the food at the time but we werenāt in a huge rush so it didnāt bother us at all. The toilets are unisex and that didnāt bother me as they all had doors. Gutted I had no room left to try their freak shakes! Definitely will return, hopefully for one of the themed nights!

I just felt underwhelmed by this massively overrated place. The staff had to stop and use remotes to pause the TV advertising things to learn how to make their cocktails š§! Itās actually quite small for a place that has themed nights and such. There are barely any staff so after waiting at the bar for 15 minutes I decided nah and left. And the games arenāt in great condition and there are barely any options for two players :/!

I saw a post on Facebook advertising a Jumanji movie night; movie, milkshake, pizza and popcorn for a tenner...bargain! I rang up the night before to book and pay my deposit and the staff were very pleasant. On arriving we were greeted quickly and shown to our seats. Staff were quick to take our order and I was pleased to see a nice selection of pizza and milkshake options to choose from and an option for extra sides. We both thought the pizza was delicious - thin and crispy! And the milkshakes were great too! Overall it made for a great date night- something a bit different :) the decor was really cool too! Definitely thought the film was turned up a bit loud (although we were at the very front and maybe it sounded different from the back of the room) but apart from that it was brilliant! We're definitely be back! Really hope the movie nights continue :)

Went here for xmas get together. Fourteen in total and all good. No complaints about the food, drink was flowing and prices really reasonable. Only reason it's 4 stars not 5 is the toilets...

To start i have to say the pizza is delicious. So thin. So tasty. A little excess flour on the base no biggie. The place and staff are top notch (only noticed the games area when i was leavingš). Coke was a little meh. Sides were good. Looking at some reviews it doesn't do it just. This is what pizza is meant to look and taste like. Admittedly the review that said it was a store bought base actually looked from their photo like it was. If it was thats not what we got. Perfect...almost

Given the reviews I was pleasantly surprised. Cool decor, proper retro. Guy who served us was really helpful and friendly. The only complaint I have about the pizzas is the the chicken pizza was verging on vegetarian.... small pieces of chicken! The sweet potato fries were amongst the best I've had. We didn't sample the desserts but I have to say they looked fantastic. All in all a really enjoyable experience, just add a bit more chicken to the chicken pizza!

We got bought a Groupon voucher for pizza and a beer and figured we'd use it when in town and feeling peckish. Entrance through the dark and very smelly Winecellar Entry isn't the greatest start to an experience. The pizzas were fine. Very thin base and nothing to get excited about, but perfectly edible. My onions rings were so oily I didn't eat them. Three stars earned for the very friendly and enthusiastic staff who really do make the place. It's very "alternative" and the place has a great vibe about it. Interesting looking cocktails that I must go back and try.... Strawberry milkshake, vodka, marshmallows and sprinkles - sounds good! Improve the food quality (and even charge a little more!) and this place could be great.

Date of visit: Saturday, 3 September 2016 @2pm. Decor: Fantastic, I loved the funky colours and street-art-style wall murals. A really different, unique and distinctive restaurant space. Ambience: Dragged down by lack of clientele, there was only one other table occupied whilst I was there. Loud music helped lift the vibe a little. Food: Really not good. I was with two friends and we all ordered pizza with sides and dips. The pizza base was definitely not hand-made, instead it appeared to be poor-quality, shop-bought base with the bottom strangely doused in white flour. The tomato sauce was too strong, again like shop-bought tomato puree, whilst cheese was a bland cheddar. My side of fries were good but the dips came in very tiny portions. Overall pretty poor food. Drink: I started with a G&T which was fine, except I asked for a slimline tonic and only realised after pouring that it was standard tonic water. We shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio which was not the best, looking and tasting a bit yellow and old even though the year was only 2015. Service: Staff extremely pleasant and helpful, but unfortunately from start to finish there were a litany of mistakes made. Not getting the slimline tonic I asked for was just the start of a list of errors, thus followed: * I was given the wrong dip with my food and had to ask for the correct one. * One of our party was served fries instead of the Cajun Fries she ordered. * We thought we would try a Prosecco Fizz cocktail for dessert but they didn't have the ingredients to make them, so Vandal really should remove these drinks from their menu. * We were overcharged on our bill. The pizzas included a side and dip on the menu but we were charged extra for these. We pointed this out and had the bill amended, well kind of, they give us an amended bill with sides removed but with the dips still listed, as the till couldn't deduct these. So our bill stated one price but staff verbally told us the cost minus the dips. In conclusion, a very poor and disappointing experience and I won't be returning to Vandal. Unless there are serious improvements, I can't foresee this place lasting very long. One star for the cool, unique decor and one star for the two guys who served us as they were so nice, despite all the botch-ups. The food was not expensive, but I would happily pay more for better quality...

My family and I decided to try Vandal for the first time through a groupon deal. The service was fantastic, staff were very helpful and friendly. The groupon deal consisted of one pizza, one beer, side and dip each for 4 people for Ā£29. The pizza was very tasty and decently sized. We also attempted their delicious freak jars for desert - tip they are huge and we recommend getting one between two! But with delicious food and great staff Vandal is well worth a visit!
