ordered here on numerous occasions always be hot and lovely food. ordered tonight to have cold food delivered. phoned up to explain to it was cold to be told they couldn't be! honestly i don't like eating cold food. some people may do won't be ordering again 😡

Used to love this place. Easily used to be a 5 star but over the last few months what has happened?! Changed of management maybe? New chef? The chips taste stale and cold and the new delivery driver shows zero interest. The old driver Stu was fantastic. Even he's not there anymore?! Real shame. Hope they sort it out

Fish & chips carton of peas , carton of curry sauce X 3 portions & drink . Absolutely 10 out of 10 . The best chippy in Atherton bye far . Do yourself & stomach a favour eat out here fabulous.....

First time using this chippy as always seems to pass when it's closed but glad I did as really enjoyed the meal from there, the fish was lovely and fresh and the chips were perfect, we didn't leave a scrap on the plates :) well except for giving a little bit of fish to the cat

Absolutely gorgeous food, had 2 large fish and large chips and scallops for 3 of us, was enough for 4,and got free garlic mushrooms, will definitely be ordering again

Great food, but unfortunately 1star because the place is the most unreliable chippy in the world. Its NEVER open, shut on random days, you can never rely on the place for your dinner. Drove over from kearsley a couple of times and it's been shut so have started ringing to make sure they're open. Rang at half one today, talked to the guy to make sure they were open. He said they were, so drove over at rush hour time and what do you know, they were shut again Took me an hour in the traffic, but it's the last time I do it because we wont be back. Shame really coz its actually a really good chippy on the rare occasions its open

Hi, I moved to Atherton and started to look for a new favourite fish and chips place. Unfortunately, this is not the one. The fish was chewy, chips were not good, very oily and tasteless. I think you have to rethink some things. The price is good. Location ok. Stuff friendly. Just the food doesn't taste good. Look for new supplies and new ways to make your food taste better. I'll come back and be a regular customer.

2 stars because the food has always been brilliant here. However today I was appalled with the service. The chippy was busy and so I queued up behind the person infront of me to order. 2 teenage girls came in and went straight to the front of the queue. There was only me and another man infront of me waiting to order. The man had been served and the lady then served the 2 girls, knowing I had been stood there waiting. I waited patiently, and when it got to me I said to the another girl behind the counter ‘I just want to let you know that I have been waiting a lot longer than them and they’ve been served before me’. She replied ‘it’s nothing to do with me what do you want?’ I thought she was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I said to her ‘well that’s rude, an apology wouldn’t go a miss’ and she said ‘well you should’ve just shouted over’. So rude and so disappointed. I understand it’s not that big of a problem but a bit of customer service goes a long way.

3 times we have ordered and delivered and all 3 orders not right not fair when you have payed for food

First time here, Small fish & chips with Irish curry👌 It was the best chippy I've had in a whilst, lovely crispy batter and excellent chips. Best chippy in Atherton by a mile.

Old style chipshop with excellent quality food

Quality fish & chips ,fish cooked to order ,lovely white fish ,battered to your choosing, if you like lightly battered just ask, choice of Holland or homemade pies, Holland pudding or rag pudding, plus they do burgers, chilli, lasagne, all delicious, chips nice and fresh.

Checked Web page to find opening times and so on Monday 26th June 2023 I visited at 5:55pm, to find it was shut even though the Web page said it would be open until 8pm. Total waste of time and I wasn't the only person who found the chippy closed when expecting it to be open

Amazing chippy, been 3 times now and can honestly say I would not go anywhere else. Really nice staff.

Valley Chippy in Atherton is the bestest chippy, Brilliant staff and amazing food. I ordered chips and sausage on Thursday for me and my daughter and I got a lovely mini eggs easter egg.

This is the best chippy I have tasted in a long time. Their chips were tasty, not greasy and cooked to perfection! Would highly recommend and will be back for sure 👍

Me and my wife have just had pie, chips, peas and gravy. It was awful. I wouldn't have left a review due to always being a fan of this chippy, but since my wife rang and they put the phone down on her it's a must. Some of the chips were hard, peas are not mushy, gravy was runny and tasteless (what there was of it) and the pie was not hot. We had to leave most of it. Seems the girl that answered the phone went to get the manager and it was them that put the phone down. Cost £17.10, wish I'd not bothered and defo wish I didn't give a small tip. I'm sorry but once our favourite chippy, never again.

Quality food. Staff nice and deal with orders dead quick. Just had a family "chippy night". 6 adults, 2 kids. Everyone thought food was spot on.

Just visited for our dinner the chips were raw and the peas weren’t mushy small portions really gone down hill We won’t be going again!

Went in other day asked for small fish chips could not beleive they asked for £7 ,90 for small fish chips and fish was awfull and soggy batter never again step foot in there

Had fish and chips on Friday 24th and they were absolutely rubbish.

Fish was nice but we paid for a barm we didn't get and the chips were awful. They looked like they had been reheated and were hard and tasteless. Practically inedible.

This place is absolutely brilliant for fish-and-chips the best fish the best fish-and-chips in the area for miles. For miles very very highly recommended. Also i would like to add that all the counter girls who served us that day were very friendly and abliging staff. I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE STEAK PUDDING WITH CHIPS, IRISH CURRY AND SCRAPS, THIS IS MY FAVOURITE DISH FROM HERE, ALTHOUGH MY WIFE ALWAYS WANTS AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYS THE FISH-AND-CHIPS, THE FISH IS REAL COD - NOT ANY OF THIS CHEAPER COD LOOK A LIKE FISH THAT A LOT OF THE LOCAL CHIP SHOPS ARE USING TO MAKE MORE PROFIT OUT OF US, WHICH IS ACTUALLY POLLOCK AND NOT REALLY COD AT ALL. Really looked forward to a chippy tea and have been disappointed to say the least,chips were hard ,peas were uncooked and tasteless and fish was just passable.Definitely not as it used to be too much on the menu ,no choice of other fish either.would not recommend.

Have been really looking forward to trying this chippy due to being recommended. Went last night at 5-40 and I was so disappointed, the chips looked like they were reheated chips couldn’t eat them. The pie was delicious but not enough for me to go back.

Fantastic takeaway, potion sizes are very good, polite staff always smiling, best chip shop in Atherton in my opinion. The delivery service is incredible fast and the drivers are always very polite. Yes sometimes you may be waiting for your food but at least I know it’s cooked fresh to order! Thank you for my tea every Friday guys!

Oh dear, how far downhill has this gone, used to be good portions, excellent tasting and looking fish n chips, but chips were shriveled, chewy and tasteless and not even a decent sized portion, fish was only just a bit bigger than a mini fish with not enough batter to even coat and a strange, strong taste (not really cod I'm led to believe). Won't be going again.

Traveld length and breath of the land and glad to find what I think is the best chipy in the country and only less than a mile away don't take my word just try them 5*+

Portions are generous, curry sauce is top notch and staff after really friendly. Can't fault the place.

I've just moved to the area, and stumbled across this gem when I made a wrong turn. It's the best fish I've had in years, and there new "Irish" curry sauce is absolutely delicious. Worth visiting any time you're in the area....in fact it's worth visiting even if you not in the area!

I have used the Valley fish and chips for two years now . The food quality is usually good the fish portions are larger then the norm . The owner and staff are always friendly and polite. The service is well organised and value for money is good.
