Not happy, they announce open even though the restaurant is closed. Waste of time and money for the taxi.

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and it’s consistently good. There’s nothing flash, just authentic Italian food, made with fresh ingredients, cooked well and at sensible prices. You can have a three course meal here for the price of a main in Manchester. The specials board always has something interesting (frogs legs on occasion!!) but the steaks are my favourite. I usually have the Rossini (see photo) with ‘special peas’ as I’m too fussy to eat the veg that comes with it. Pizzas and pasta great too. Save room for Seb’s tiramisu!

A big thank you to Seb and staff at Valentino’s for looking after us at all of our meetings and our big event in May. Nothing is too much trouble and the restaurant has started to feel like home! The function room is perfect for our meetings and we love eating before too. The food is always great. The catering for our event was first class too. We had a film launch with a buffet for about 50 people. Pizzas and pasta were cooked continuously over the evening to ensure everything was fresh and hot. No one left hungry! Seb was happy for us to decorate the room (and outside!) for the occasion. Valentino’s is a gem. Small and cosy. It feels like going to an Italian family for dinner. Proper Italian food!

Fantastic rustic food sourced from Italy, the owner & head chef is friendly and accommodating. They'll make you feel at home and will even offer dishes off-menu on request, if you do this just be sure to give them some advance warning to allow time to get the ingredients in, especially for larger numbers! Fewer and fewer restaurants offer this level of personalised 'old-school' service now so it's all the more appreciated at Valentino's. Can't recommend the place highly enough, support a local business when you're next in Oldham and you won't be disappointed!

Would like to say A big thank you to Sebastian and family and staff for a super Christmas Day meal A 5 course menu for a very reasonable price appreciation all round for excellent food atmosphere attentive professional staff We spent over 4 hours of enjoyment we as a family felt chilled relaxed and very happy by the time we left

What a wonderful restaurant. Feels like you're at home and the food is top notch too. If I can recommend anything in life, you have to try the ribs. Everything but the bone melts in your mouth in a sticky 'BBQ'ey dream of rustic Italian flavours. 15 out of 10.

Had a fantastic experience at this restaurant booked a couple of weeks ago to celebrate granddaughters G,C.S.E results was contacted straight back saying they were unfortunately on holiday , considered booking somewhere else, so glad we didn’t !! Fabulous meals ( best steak I’ve eaten in a long time) friendly attentive service I’ve never seen my youngest granddaughter clear her plate! Bellisimo!!! We will be back for more.

Fantastic place for a family meal for over 45 of us for my wife 65th birthday. The owner and his team accomdated us all. The food was amazing, all cooked to order. Over 45 separate pre ordered meals out in a timely manner and superbly cooked and tasty. They did everything and more to make the night a success. Thank-you

Absolutely disgusted we ordered x2 meatball dishes and they was so bland and no sauce so really dry,then my husband found a massive blonde hair in his spaghetti. Will definitely be telling people to avoid at all cost we rang the restaurant and we got well this dish sells all the time.

Fabulous food & lovely atmosphere, it was our first visit here & we'll definitely return. We tried the pizza's but the Italian standard dishes that everyone else were ordering looked fantastic. The decor is a little dated but if you value food quality over a restaurant "looking modern" then definitely go here.

Visited on a Thursday evening. Was quiet, but inviting. The food was like Italian food should be. Cooked by Valentino, and was delicious. Reasonably priced too. Will go again soon.

We came as a party of 6 pre-theatre (Valentino's is very handy for the Colosseum), we needed prompt service and we got it; service was great, helpful, and friendly. Pasta and pizza were lovely, including veggie options. Reasonable prices too. Recommended. We'll be back.

Went there the other night with my partner for a special occasion. The food and service is fantastic - thoroughly enjoyed it (especially the steak and cheesecake)! Prices are very reasonable, and the staff are really friendly. Well worth a trip into Oldham town centre to try this one! We'll be back again soon...

horrible.. I got a pizza and asked for extra basil, they didn’t even put a single bit of basil on, the pizza was drenched in oil, plus it was on garlic bread and i didn’t ask for that. do not recommend

My mother and I loved this place, I cannot decide which was better the service or the food! The owner was lovely, he had no problem warming the glasses up for the red wine or anything else we requested, he was the perfect host and made us feel very much at home. The food was delicious it was sooo tasty that even my mother stopped talking to enjoy it! Unlike a lot of Italian places there was so much flavor in the food. The decor is a little dated however it is one of the best Italians I have been to so please give it a try you will not be disappointed !

Cosy authentic Italian hidden in Oldham town centre. The owner and waiting staff are lovely and friendly. I’m vegetarian and the owner/chef prepared a vegetarian dish for me not on the menu, which was delicious!!

Another fantastic meal, Valentinos is a lovely, cosy authentic family run restaurant. Great value menu, proper portions and most of all delicious. I had the Pollo Valdostana which was perfectly cooked with nice buttery veggies, my other half had the Cannelloni which was extremely good and plenty of it. We shared a garlic pizza bread which was on freshly baked dough and loads of garlic. Delicious. Not yet finished we decided on dessert… the home made Profiteroles we’re bloody amazing and the partner the Tiramisu which was lovely and fresh with plenty of cream to compliment. Great wine selection and a cracking Birra Moretti to wash it all down with. Staff were nice, friendly and attentive. Definitely a place we will be visiting again soon! Thanks again for a lovely evening.

Went here for lunch last Wednesday for my birthday. The food, as always, was superb. We both had the minestrone soup to start, it was delicious - tasty with lots of vegetables. My friend had the vegetarian cannelloni and I had the lasagne, both were really enjoyable. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The price is very reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. (Parking on Retiro Street is pay and display during the day and there is a bigger car park not far away. Excellent!

If there is a better authentic Italian restaurant in greater Manchester, never mind Oldham, I haven't come across it yet. The pate and lasagne are to die for...cosy, inexpensive and welcoming; why is this restaurant not busier???? Brilliant value, particularly at lunch time. Most definitely worth a visit.

This is a really nice restaurant that deserves to be much busier. Very good pasta and a very good wine list. The staff and owner are very friendly too. Definitely visit again next time I’m in Oldham. I prefer this restaurant to the very busy Italian place down the road.

I ordered 2 Pizzas via just eat, unfortunately we got 2 completely different meals plus extras! because of a mix up with deliveries, not a problem, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, it was swiftly rectified, the wrong order collected and original order delivered, with a nice surprise, I’m sorry if I didn’t ask the names of the people that came to our house,the gentleman and lady with blonde hair, you are a credit to your restaurant, we have eaten there over the years and will continue to do so, well done, and look forward to using your service in the future. Excellent food and service as always,Salmon dish from specials board was lovely. I was a little apprehensive about eating out (1st time since lockdown), however tables a well spaced and all procedures are in place, so felt relaxed. We will definitely return. Also good to know that there is now also a takeaway service, so please if you are ordering takeaway pizza etc support the local small businesses rather than the large national chains.

Just Eaten at Valentino's yesterday. As usual the food was excellent. But there is a BIG Problem ! People have just stopped eating out due to Covid Worry. These places will go under if we don't support them in their time of need. Mid week the place is empty. We had our own personal Chef ( Thanks Sebastian) His Restaurant is Covid safe, all procedures are in place and enforced and there's no reason not to go. Along with most Restauruants they have been forced to offer take away. There are extra costs to this and they ahave to absorb this.

Had some order difficulties at no fault of the restaurant but due to the delivery driver / uber. They were incredibly supportive and helpful in trying to resolve the situation. 1st class customer service from the team at the restaurant. (If you want to order anything, best to call them directly!)

Ordered food for my birthday, on Tuesday through Uber eats for delivery on Wednesday. When Wednesday came I looked to see if my order was on its way, only to find out UBER EATS had cancelled it. I rang the restaurant and spoke the a lovely man Sebastian had just been on the phone to Uber eats who told him that the order was damaged, which was a load of rubbish cause they had not even been near my house. Anyway Sebastian told me he would make a fresh order and get someone from the restaurant to deliver the order. The food arrived within 1/2 hour, and it was absolutely delicious, my daughter couldn’t stop saying how nice it was and she was right. From the garlic mushrooms garlic n cheese bread to spaghetti bolognese, all delicious and plenty of it. I would like to thank Sebastian and his driver for great food and the bottle of Prosecco for my birthday. When the lock down is over we will be visiting the restaurant for more delicious food.

An excellent lunchtime venue to be with your friends

My partner and I visited Valentino’s yesterday for a treat and we wasn’t disappointed. The food was delicious and the atmosphere felt really warm and comfortable. The bruschetta on the specials board tasted fresh so I would recommend that. The only tiny problem I had was that I felt I could’ve had more prawns and mushrooms in my penne Mari monti. Apart from that everything was perfect. Will be returning.

Had lunch today starter was of salami,mixed peppers,olives,served with mozzarella cheese with a dash of olive oil served with some home made warm ciabatta bread, followed by rigatoni pasta coated in a spicy tomato sauce absolutely delicious, will go again now that it's opening for Sunday lunch!

We found this hidden gem today whilst exploring Oldham town centre. We popped in for dinner and was warmly welcomed by our host. We opted for a two course pasta or pizza meal with starter or dessert, which was excellent value and the food was delicious. We will be back.

We popped in for lunch with our 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son. The proprietor could not have been more accommodating. Our eldest wanted pizza with peppers and "sausage" (she meant pepperoni) so he made exactly what she asked for. Nothing was too much trouble, he got us a high chair as soon as we came in, found somewhere to store the pram, cut the pizza in half and split it between 2 plates for the little ones to share and took the time to let her ask for dessert., rather than ignore her and talk to us as many people do with small children. She is very intuitive and doesn't trust people easily but she gave him a high five for a good pizza - a high honour indeed! We will certainly go back and treat Nanny and Grampy when we can. Superior service and excellent food. Pasta and pizza lunches start at under £5! It's worth noting that the lunch menu is suspended because of the Christmas menu.

Came here for lunch with my husband and 18month old the owner couldnt be any more helpful. We ordered spaghetti for our little one and he asked if we'd prefer penne so it would be easier to eat. How thoughtful. I ordered canelloni it was superb. Great price. Cant wait to go again

Very disappointing, pizza was warm when it arrived and cold very quickly. Gluten free Base bought in and defrosted?

I visited today. The young girl serving us had perfect service skills but the restaurant owner in the kitchen was shocking. I ordered ribs as my started which was dry and has no flavour at all! I wouldn’t feed it to my dog let alone a human. I had chicken pasta with a cheese sauce as my main, because it wasn’t on the menu he decided to charge me 14 pound even though it has less ingredients than all the other meals and the cheapest last was 7 pound. Why so expensive??? He was very rude when we questioned about it and he said because it has chicken in it he had to charge me for a full chick... due to my awful visit. I will NEVER be visiting again !!!!!!

Me and my girlfriend visited this restaurant and I've got to say it was definitely worth it, the staff and owners are very friendly and made us feel very welcome indeed, the food was absolutely stunning, portion sizes are very good too we will defo be back again.

Beautiful food. Went on a night when the weather outside was terrible so was quiet. The owner was great and explained meals to us.

Dose not open during its opening hours. Arrived 7pm Monday evening, which accoring to there door they are open, yet lights off locked up. Even had there boards out on the stree which usually suggets a place is open. Not the 1st time they closed during opening hours. I would not recommend trying as its likely to be closed any way. Nandos should be open so just go there.

My husband and I have been a few times for lunch and always receive a delicious meal. The service is quick and friendly and the food is gorgeous. They have a new menu on a Monday and Tuesday which is great value for money would definitely recommend a visit. Also we were told that they do Uber eats now as well

Called early on Saturday evening(6.30)only 1 other couple in,we enjoyed a very good meal for 2,with nice bottle of house red.Not the easiest place to find in Oldham-halfway down Retiro Street-but well worth the effort
