We came here cause we had a few hours to kill. Not very good welcoming, no smiles, no warmth, nothing, the food was as cold as the staff! i would never come back here again.

We've eaten here a few times and it's the generic sort of Chinese buffet that fills you up with tasty food but what we did last week is to get two take-away boxes at a five each and fill them with chicken, prawns, ribs, vegetables etc to take home where we cooked our own rice. The food was delicious and much better than a normal take-away because we chose exactly what we want - I don't like cooked green peppers!

Don't know what went wrong for previous reviews... Been away for 2 and a half months and am renowned for being very critical of restaurants. I can and do usually cool better than most. The food at buffet v was crunchy fresh salads selection with an influence. The cooked food was typically Chinese but not salty. I am a vegetarian and there was a lot of choice. My plate was full ( had starter salad first) and ate every bit. The staff were a bit edgy but put that down to not good English language. Friendly and advised on recipes of dishes we we most enjoyed. We ate at Wholefoods Piccadilly the day before and enjoyed our lunch at Buffet V much more as it was fresher a not at all salty. We had a lovely, pleasant experience without being over charged and would recommend... Which I don't often do. Try the mango jelly and fresh fruit salad- delicious . Super value.

As mentioned before the price is cheap and the food looks ok.However its the worse Chinese I have ever had, I struggled to eat any of it. Sweet and Sour Chicken with no chicken, chicken curry with no chicken, sweet and sour chicken balls which nearly break your jaw eating. I wanted to complain and sadly left quietly but hopefully thus review may stop others going through the nightmare I did. Do not waste your money on utter disgusting food.

Welcomed in with cold stares, the smell of cats sick & shady looks from the 'chefs' wearing marigolds as they dropped frozen fake chicken legs and spring rolls into a deep fat fryer...this should have been warning enough. Due to hunger pangs that could cripple an oversized ox, I decided to stay. After picking a few items from the buffet (of which there weren't that many choices) I sat down, bit into what looked like sesame toast, but couldn't of been as it nearly broke my tooth and shattered across the table. Ok, lets try something else- faux Chicken...chicken? A potato cake, delightful. It's was the only palatable item on my plate. Embarrassed, I called the waitress over to let her know that the plate of congealed plop was not good enough to feed my pet dog and I'd like to leave. She laughed in my face, then demanded money and told me to leave... I refrained from paying and left anyway. Awful.

Ok, so they say in life that you get what you pay for and maybe that's true but lured in by the cheap prices for a quick lunch after a trip to British Museum, we were greeted with the dryest, oldest, most flavourless dust this side of kitty litter. As if that wasn't bad enough, the staff and the manager were some of the rudest people we encountered in London. Avoid like the bubonic plague

The food presentation is OK , the food quilty is really bad , most of the food was old , and when I spoke to the manager he said " too bad you don't like the food " what a bad service ! One of the salads looked like it had been served for the past few days ! Dull and smelled bad ! Not the greatest option for budget buffet .

Iniziamo a mangiare.

After several complaints of how dry 80% of the food was, clearly been left there for hours and not renewed, we were abruptly told "if you don't like our food then don't come back " I found this extremely unprofessional and upsetting to myself and my family.

Although I'm not vegetarian, I like vegetarian food and I like tasting different flavours. I found it at Buffet V for a nice price. The quality of the ingredients is obvious and you can see the food being prepared. I would return. It's a good option to have lunch while visiting the British Museum, as it's quite close.

This is no longer a 100% veggie restaurant although most of the dishes are still veggie including the noodles and rice. They serve chicken dishes seperate to the veggie dishes at the end. I'd say this is still 70% veggie and my friend who is veggie enjoyed herself at this place and had two platefuls. Service - everyone was friendly and accomodating, there was no rush to leave the restaurant and the waiter even brought us water as we sat at our table eating. we spent two and a half hours at our table and was not told to leave, my friends ate 2 platefuls, I ate 3.Food - The food was pretty good for a buffet, I'd say the veggie items were tastier than the meat items although the chicen wings were great. I found the food to a goodm certainally above average standard and with good taste, especially the cold brocelli, cabbage and seawood.Value - Buffett plus drink was £10 each including the service charge/tip, for London this is pretty good. especially for a buffet.Atmosphere - It feels like a cafe' more than fine dining but this is not a nagative. It's laid back, the waiters are relaxed and chatty with customers, asking them where they are from and about their holiday. This makes for a friendly atmosphere and a family friendly place. Your also free to take friends and chat like I did, feel welcomed to eat and not feel rushed to leave although I did go on a quiet tuesday night.Overall - yes there are other chinese options within London with more meater dishes but for a cheap eat, a nice place to go chat over some good food and especially if you are entertaining a veggie friend also, this might be a good place to check out.

I had not eaten over lunchtime for various reasons and was making my way to The British Museum looking desperately for a place to eat, either Indian or Chinese, when I stumbled on V Buffet. At £6.90 plus10% service charge I thought I would give it a try.Well, yes I would return for another dip into the food served. The choice I found excellent, the food adequately tasty and the staff very pleasant. It is not the biggest buffet in town but as things go there was plenty to choose from with a good variety. There was a steady flow of customers at 4.45pm when I sat down, some obvious regulars. This review is given without reference to any other given previously.

we have been a few times now, typically our preferred lunch spot when in town and on a budget. Is definitely a meat place. Way better value than in China town, more relaxed atmosphere and better quality than anything at twice the price you would find there. Availability of Duck pancakes for £6.90 is a bargain and I haven't found anywhere to beat it at that price yet. Other places might have a few more options but this place gets what it does right. Comes out as less than £20 for two including drink and service. Friendly staff and strangely quiet - can only guess it is because it can be hard to find - being called "buffet" is not handy when trying to find it on google maps!

Sooo it took me a while to find this restaurant on trip advisor because although in the same location, I think the restaurant has changed owners since 'buffet v' because the outside has a different front and the pictures of the food looks different now.Anyway.. I wouldn't waste your money going here. It is very cheap; £6.90 per person and all you can eat but when 80% of the food isn't edible, you're better off getting Mcdonalds or going to Zizzi's with a voucher. The meat was awful, I had to spit out my sweet and sour chicken because it just didn't have the texture of chicken, it was more like soft fat. Everything was just bad, just don't attempt going here.

the best thing for me about this was that the food was not greasy and poorly cooked like many buffets, also I was impressed with the range of dishes on offer including various savoury noodle and 'fake meat' dishes and also deserts including fresh fruit saladswhile the fake meat wont appeal to all it was well done and provided extra texture to the dishes, also the veg had some bite and was not overcooked

We recently dined at Buffet V for the first time and found it quite reasonable although nothing spectacular. The location is great being right on New Oxford Street making it easy to find (near the corner of Stedham Place). For 6.50 you can eat as much as you want from the buffet including entrees, salads, hot dishes and dessert which is pretty good value. There was a good range of vegan dishes to choose from although most of them featured fake meat so if you're not into fake meats this restaurant probably won't appeal to you. We dined around 1:00pm on the weekend and although the restaurant was busy, we found many of the 'hot' dishes were only just lukewarm or even cold. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the juices are freshly squeezed and all the salads and fruit appeared fresh. Overall, we were happy with our meal we just hope that next time the hot food is fresher and hotter.

In this buffet first you get a warm welcome from stuff and then they take you to the best table. The restaurant is all you can eat buffet stile, so there is no limitation. If you would like to take food with you and eat somewhere else, you get little plastic dish in which you put it. This will cost you 3.50 pounds or 4.50 pounds if you take a bit bigger dish. This is really cheep but dish is adequately small and of course you can put food in it just once. Than if you decide to sit there in restaurant where the climate is very warm and cosy, lunch will cost you 5,50 pounds. Beside that you also have to pay around 70 pence for service. You can stuff your plate for as many times as you want. Meals on Sundays and every day in the evenings cost 6.50 pounds and same you have to pay little bit for service. Food is freshly prepared and very tasty. You can find there in buffet veg chow mein, veg curry rice, crispy soya, duck, black beans soya chicken, sweet & sour veg chicken, spiced aubergines, special fried rice, singapore noodles, lemon grass pot, spring rolls, dim sum, basil salad, lemon grass, seaweed, green curry & many more. I think the drink is not included, so it has to be paid separately.I liked that food was fresh and crispy (not overcooked). Stuff can get a bit annoying with always wanting to serve you. But all in all eating there was delicious!

I used to go here a few years ago and it was fine. As everything is now automated, you don't see the meal until they have finished prepping it. I bought a saucer sized plate of tired slaw and 5 small dried chicken pieces for £8.50. It looked and tasted like student leftovers. I'll never go again.
