It's been a while since we have been to the Usher restaurant and I have to say it was a pleasure to be back. The food as always was amazing and the staff friendly as always. We had the buffet as there was so mu h to choose from. Not only a good price but the food was amazing, tasty and there was plenty of it. Hats off for to the chefs👨🍳 We will definitely be coming back, thankyou.

Disappointed !! In 2024 and they don’t have staff that understand simple food allergens. Thought I was back in the year 2000. Some staff didn’t even know their own Menu. Quite incompetent. Should know what they are doing but didn’t. Why a lot of places in this area they are so far behind in food allergens. Very quiet for a Friday night. Booths also not comfortable. After being told the popadoms and every starter wasn’t suitable and then only limited mains. 10 mins later a different staff member informed me the other waiter had got it all wrong. Food was ok when we eventually ate. They didn’t even after all the inconvenience, incompetence of the staff and the hassle they didn’t even offer to take something off the bill. Advice to have customers come back - have educated staff, give better customer service Will never return

My chair cushion was worn so I sank into it. The food was great. I had lamb chops with rice and a paratha. The paratha was fantastic, lovely layered bread with a delicate flavour. Rice cooked to perfection. Generous helping of lamb chops with potatoes and other vegetables. Nice house red at only £4:50 for a large glass. The restaurant could do with some redecoration and investment in better chairs but the food and service was excellent.

Excellent service on 5th October 2023. Staff were very welcoming. Outstanding food at a good price. No complaints whatsoever and i am quite fussy. Haven’t been for a couple of years and i would say it has greatly improved. There were 8 of us and everyone enjoyed all courses.

Not one to knock local businesses but they need improve, eaten here many times over the years and always thought it was Ok for the money . Went today and the service was very slow . From being seated the popodoms and chutneys were served within 10 minutes but they were soft not crispy. We then waited over 30 minutes and weren't even given a menu we had to ask. . When the set menu staters arrived they were but Ok nothing special . Eventually the main meal arrived 1.5 hours after sitting down. I told the family we were leaving in 5 minutes if the food didnt arrive. It just made it in time, by this time I had lost my appetite. The food was ok ,not fine dining, the chicken typical takeaway chicken chunks in the curry. Soft drinks didnt taste like Coke or Pepsi more like a poor carbonated cordial made from syrup. Sorry Usha you need to improve, it was my go to curry house in Burnley it's stating to look tatty , ripped wall paper in the toilets , the laminated floor in the main restaurant was slippy. Reception area with the sofas looking tired.

Having a break near Burnley and looking for a midweek curry, I thought I would seek local knowledge. The result was Usha being suggested to us by our hotel's receptionist. To be honest it doesn't look very promising from the outside but their large car park was almost full. Having taken the plunge it became apparent that they had a Wednesday night deal which had brought in a lot of customers. It was busy and reckon the kitchen and staff had their hands full. Despite this, the service was efficient and the timing excellent. There was nothing wrong with the food although the wife found the sheekh kebab too hot and the balti on her chilli limit. I had no problem although the pathia was different to what I am used to. The chicken was a bit dry but wonder if this was a result of catering for the masses. There was nothing wrong with the sides. Overall we had a good night here at a very competitive price, taking your own alcohol is an additional bonus.

Always been our favourite curry restaurant but feel the quality has dropped off. Asked for a milder sauce with a shashlick it just came drowned in cream, dreadful! Every curry looks the same and more expensive, £6.30 for 3 small bowls of rice. I realise prices have increased but there was less than a bag of rice in the small bowls. Think we'll try elsewhere now to compare. Staff all friendly and helpful and still have great nan breads

The last time i went to this restaurant there was what looked like a curly hair hanging out of the poppadom. I told the staff about this, and in return all i got was a replacement poppadom. No discount, or complimentary side.In addition to the service and endlessly waiting for a waiter for another drink. This was a while ago, needless to say i have not been back since. Its a shame as this was our favourite restaurant for many years and we frequented regularly.

Got a take away from here tonight and it saddens me to say that it wasn't what we're used to from The Usha. We've eaten here loads, but restaurant and take away and this is the first time we've been let down. The papkora starters were soft and doughy. The onion bhajis were greasy and tasteless. The poppadoms didn't seem freshly cooked, more like warmed up ones. The korma and rogan josh were just okay at best.Come on Usha, pull your socks up and get back to the excellent quality you usually deliver.

We had had a difficult day just after the Christmas/New Year ‘holiday’ period, driving up and then down the M6 then driving up again, on our way home and neither of us was in no mood for cooking. Usha opens its doors at 5pm and when we arrived at 10 to 6 on this wet and windy Thursday evening, it was already quite busy. We both had a very pleasant meal in relaxed surroundings and I recharged my batteries for the last 20mins drive home. Fed, watered and it didn’t break the bank; who could ask for more?

We recently had a birthday celebration for 15 + a child. We had a table booked but it was so busy we had to wait for around 1/2hr. Lots of people coming and going made it seem quite chaotic.when we were finally seated, there was no highchair as requested and we ended up waiting a considerable length of time before one became available.Staff were apologetic and did eventually bring one.we had the Sunday buffet special -Poppadoms, chutneys, onions etcmixed starter, chicken tikka, onion bhaji, spring roll, shish kebaband a choice of main course with a naan to share between two.the food was very good, but we did wait a considerable length of time for it all to arrive. our table was booked for 6.30 and we didn't leave the restaurant until 10!We did have a good evening, the waiters were lovely and so was the food.Good parking available and disabled access too. There is a children's menu with all the usual - fish fingers, chips etc

Myself my kids father and my 2 kids went for what we thought would be a nice Christmas meal out which cost 100 pounds for the food alone. On arrival the restaurant was full to bursting and we got plonked on a table smack bang in the centre of the restaurant when I had booked a booth as my son is autistic and he can be sensitive to noise etc.. anyway once seated we were given 1 poppadom each???! Then our starters which were meant to be mixed kebabs were brought... these consisted of a deep fried chicken wing, spring roll, 1 piece of chicken tikka and salad... I’ve never been served such a shocking ‘Indian starter’ in my life! Literally as these were taken away the mains were thrown at us! Was totally rushed and very chaotic! Wasn’t given our naan bread either... following from this we gave in got the food bagged up and left!!! Was in there 45 minutes! When trying to leave it was a jostle to just get through the door as they had sooo many people waiting to be seated! Joke of a day!!!! Have been complaining since to which I e had no response! Will never go there again!

A visit on a Sunday afternoon for the buffet. A lovely clean restaurant, good food and excellent value for the money. However, all the staff members that served us looked so miserable. No conversation or rapport with the customers and very abrupt in their manner when speaking to us. A huge improvement needs to be made. We will visit again as we like the buffet meal being brought to the table instead of choosing your own food out of turins, the food usually being luke warm.

Some friends visited this restaurant and they left what they thought to be a review that fully reflected the experience they had on this occasion. An extensive menu plus a wide range of drinks meant ordering took a little longer than usual but there was no hurry. I was gobsmacked n said hold on hold on hold on!!! Got that sorted when waiting inside someone who arrived after us 2 MEN n 2 women was taken to a table before us. My sister mentioned this to the manager who then proceeded to a table to have it snatched from us by a party ... yes you have guessed it contained MEN!!!! WTF is goin on !!! Went here for a meal with my family. My parents visited this establishment around 9 years ago and were slightly disappointed so we decided to give it another try. We had a table reserved for 7:30 and the restaurant was rather busy because they were hosting a charity night. We seated in an extension area that was cut off from the noise and distraction, making our dining a much more pleasurable experience. Meals ordered were the Usha special sharing mega platter for 4 this was absolutely delicious because it had tender meat (Chicken, lamb) and king prawns all of which were cooked in unique spices. The mains that were ordered were the South Indian garlic chicken, this was for my Dad, my Mum had the prawn samba, my sister had the children's chicken tikka masala and I had a lamb gosht made with lime and coriander. There are no complaints for the masala, samba and gosht but the garlic chicken had way too many tomatoes in it and was made with chicken tikka rather than ordinary chicken as asked for, a minor complaint however. The rice portions are not that generous either, but the naan and chips that were ordered were brilliant. Alcohol is also seriously cheap, when my Dad ordered a brandy. He got change from a £5, absolutely marvellous. I would recommend Usher for its great food, friendly helpful staff and the overall value of the food you get. My advice is to get two portions of rice because one never is enough.

We visit the Usha regularly especially with our daughter & her husband. We have never had a bad meal and Wednesday night buffet is very good, you don't have to go up and help yourself, the usual popadums and dips etc are served then a selection of starters, followed by your choice of mains which are all excellent, coffee is included, it's terrific value for money and is always busy. We will be booking tables for a party in May and know we can expect the same excellent friendly service which we always get. Usually, party's are set up in the conservatory which is ideal for this. The restaurant has booths as well as tables set out and there's a small waiting area where pre-dinner drinks are served. The wine list is good so it's the ideal place for a meal or a celebration, the decor is very nice and the whole restaurant is clean and welcoming. There is a large car park with steps down to the restaurant so it's convenient and the takeaway menu is vast and of the same quality as the restaurant.

My wife and myself ate at The Usher last night. We were both left feeling disappointed with the food. We usually go out of town for a curry for this reason. I don't believe there is a decent curry house in Burnley or the surrounding area. If you want a fine curry then you are going to have to spread your wings and go to Manchester, Bradford or Huddersfield etc. I had a chicken tandoori and a Rogan Josh, my two favourite dishes and both were poor. I just ate the meat from my main meal and left the rest. My wife had a starter she was happy with, but her main meal wasn't good ( chicken masala). No one at any time asked us if our meals were ok.

Couldn't believe how empty the place was. So much so that they couldn't even be bothered to put the air con on. Maybe they were busy with takeaways but the two occupied tables suffered from a distinct lack of fresh air. Food was okay.

Eat here often, the portions are good and the flavours/heat always tend to be just right. Have tried a few different things on the menu and the only negatives from my experience are my rice and roti came quite cold one time but still enjoyed the meal.

A lovely atmosphere, always have the best of service, whether dining as a couple, or as part of a large group. The food is faultless in my opinion.

Second time I've been here, it was full when we got in so I thought that was a good sign.Food was good and service was ok, we weren't looking for a rushed night,

Visited here 3 times over the years and every time it is a disappointment. The most recent time was a Saturday night and it was very quiet which didn't look good. The service was ok. We found the menu quite limited and quite expensive. The portion sizes are not very big and some people were sharing meals which they later regretted due to this. The food was tasteless. The shimla spice is better in every way. Overall not a good experience. Will not be returning.

Been here twice in recent months and overall it has been a good experience. Nice little booths to sit in a comfy environment and good service. Second time one of our cokes was bland and was instantly changed when mentioned. Food wise can't really fault. mixed grill starters a good standard and waiter even threw in some samosas which don't come with the actual menu. Really impressed with the Lamb Karahi and nice fluffy naan bread. Not the cheapest in terms of cost but good quality food makes up for that. Nice decor and not overly busy which makes for a more relaxing environment would go again.

Went on a wednesday night and ate from the banqueting menu. £9.95 for poppadoms, starter and main. For the quality it was excellent value. I had the onion bhajis, which were crisp and delicious with a real kick of spice to them. I also had the South Indian Lamb Aloo which had a real balance of flavour. The Lamb was tender and in generous proportion to the potatoes. The service was quick and efficient with the staff making sure we were comfortable and our 6 month old daughter had somewhere to be changed and we had hot water to heat her bottle. Will be visiting again soon.

I havnt actually been and sat down in the restaurant now for a few years, but we ordered a takeaway last month and it was just okay! Food wasn't exactly hot, and they forgot my naan bread! Price was reasonable and portions were big, which I always like! 3 stars is fair

I went to Usha with my sister. The service was friendly and prompt. All food was freshly made and delishous. Unfortunately the onion bhajis were way too spicey!!! I had to drown them in yoghurt sauce to make them just about edible. This was a shame because a part from the heat they were obviously freshly made n he best l have had. The Chicken Korma was as lovely and tasty as it always been for over 10 years. Will be going again l just wonder if they would made me onlon bhajis to order??!! I hope so :)

Excellent restaurant, been here loads of times and cannot fault the food or the service I receive every time. Restaurant is also very good at delivery, always on time and prompt with food just as good as you get in the restaurant.

Tried the Sunday buffet menu. Was glad we had booked as it was very busy. Great value for money. Four courses with extensive choice of main courses. No difference in quality or quantity just because this is a Sunday buffet. Will definitely eat here again. Earlier is busy with families. Recommend later booking if adult only. Friendly and professional staff who couldn't do enough which is very refreshing nowadays.

We decided to try the Sunday menu here a couple of weeks ago , it was very very busy but we decided to wait for a table - 15 minutes and we were seated so that was fine. The food came fast and was quite tasty and plentiful , if anything there was too much we were stuffed and so we're the children .So we started off with popadums and chutneys. The starter plate had a piece of chicken tikka, onion bargi, spiced spring roll and some salad , all very good .Then you could chose from the curry list which had a big choice. We ordered a biriyani a rogan josh and a jalfreizi and they were all quite good. Then there was a choice from 3 deserts which they brought round on a trolley afterwards. The only thing was we wanted to order more drinks but they were so busy we didn't catch the waiters attention and then decided not to bother ordering any more as it was time for us to get going. There was chicken tikka missing from one of the starkers which they sorted once we told them. All in all a good time was had and we would return here at some point.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal at Ushas last week. I had the Lamb Tabah which was rich in flavour whilst my wife enjoyed a milder chicken Rajshahi Alma with fresh mangoes, cream, sultanas and cashew nuts. This is not the cheapest Indian restaurant but the quality is worth the extra.

Busy big Indian restaurant on the edge of town. Very large menu choice and no complaints at all with the food. Decor a little tired but OK. Toilets more tired. Staff had good knowledge of dishes. Has own car park. Would come back.
