Urban Kitchen London in Hounslow

NB: this is a review for a delivery order. Food was delivered cold via Just Eat, except the app said the delivery was via the restaurant rather than Just Eat, so that was confusing and I couldn’t tell when the order was arriving. My naans were like biscuits as was the tandoori roti. Very disappointing first experience, the chicken vindaloo was disgustingly oily. The 1cm layer of oil when I opened the lid made me feel like throwing it away, but I decided to persevere as I was hungry. I had to scoop the oil out before attempting to eat. My COLD vindaloo (which by the way should have had a few pieces of potato in it but had none) had a decent enough flavour. The Chicken 65 was just average (also cold), the prawn dish hasn't been eaten yet as hubby will have that when he gets back from work although I'm not holding my breath that he'll like it! Who expects a delivery from a local restaurant to turn up cold? Part of the point of me ordering a delivery was to be able to just eat it and crack on with my day. Oh and don’t expect any complimentary poppadums or pickles or anything like that, these guys couldn’t even provide that courtesy like most other Indian restaurants so! To be charged £2 for delivery and your food arrives cold and to be charged a £0.50p service charge for who knows what service, made this an even more disappointing experience with Just Eat and this restaurant! Oh and a 10p bag fee when they could have just delivered it in the paper bag (which was inside the plastic bag), what was the need for an additional plastic bag? I can't even reuse it as it's such cheap quality and has the bill stapled to it!

Ordered a takeaway which was an hour late to arrive and was then awful. Tikka masala which was very spicy and salty - nothing like a masala! There was also a thick layer of oil on the top of the dish. The poppadoms were soft and stale. Just a very disappointing curry. We will not be going back.

After hundreds of Just eat orders I can be honest & say this takeaway was the worst I can remember. The positive reviews left on google and on Trip advisor must be from friends or realtives or from a very different set up to the one I experienced as they do not reflect the current reality of this place. All the 4 main meals I ordred appeared to be reheated heavily salted days old left overs. The Hyderabadi Methi Masala Lamb mains had taken on the dark green oxidized colour you get from being exposed to room temperature for hours before being mircowaved. Urban Kitchen’s Mix Platter was a group of tikka covered bones covered in greased onions. The Lamb Dum Biryani was three small lumps of meat covered in plain rice with a curdled split raita side. Not a single thing in this £54 order appeared to be fresh. It was terrible quality and days old. In an area with some great Indian takeaways I can only assume the policy of heavy discounts gets people to order once from here. I can't imagine anyone is mad enough to order again or order in the first place after reading how bad the food this place dumps on customers is.

Unbelievably good. Proper Andhra style food. Layers of flavour, addictive heat, incredible chaat. Best Indian food I’ve probably ever had in the UK.

Me and my husband love this place, it is local to us and we love the good quality food we get every time, we have not been disappointed once. The service is second to none, very attentive owners who want to ensure that you have enjoyed your food. Very friendly staff, we love the food and you can also take your own alcohol. This restaurant is suitable for a range of people not just one. Wew go as a couple but have also taken our son there for dinner.

EXCELLENT ! Urban Kitchen is the new game in town, and definitely worth experiencing. Restaurant and food is 100% authentic, with great service - and all at very reasonable prices. Formula is hard to beat, and I hope they can maintain this level. Well done to Urban Kitchen management and team - we will be back !

Wow - food was amazing - one of the best curry’s I’ve had - if you like hot food would recommend the chicken vindaloo and the garlic and chilli naan was amazing - brilliant service and fantastic service at an affordable price - highly recommended

The food is very well presented and tasty. Super friendly meal! Hosts are very pleasant and attentive. Your belly will be full at a very reasonable price, I totally recommend it.
