The ship in is a great pub With amazing management. Me my wife and friends enjoy low price cocktails beers and spirits served with a smile I highly recommend you visiting this great pub with sky sports and BT sports. Scott

What a fantastic night , this pub is under new management and can’t you tell , they have done a fantastic job . The atmosphere was great lovely to see all social distancing was in place to keep everyone Safe as well . Will definitely be going again , lots of people were there both young and old , what a great night .🤗

We have used this pub many times in the past and found it to be excellent. However the last two times the quality of the food has dropped not sure if the chef had changed. This used to be my No1 place to eat in Bawtry but sadly it no longer is.

Just been for Sunday lunch and it was bang on the mark, fresh veg all cooked just the way it should be, very tasty the roast if pork, beef and turkey was cooked to perfection topped of with a tower of a Yorkshire pud. Decent price both beer and food.

Called in here a few times as it's not far away. Always a good atmosphere with live music on a regular occasion. Tried the Sunday lunch which was fantastic, all well cooked & piping hot with generous portions. Well worth a visit, give it a try.

Beware counterfeit/ cheap / gone off vodka . Ordered two double Smirnoff vodka and lemonade . When I went to take a sip it tasted like nail polish remover . One of the girls behind the bar also tried the drink and said it didn’t taste right to her either . The man behind the bar said it must be either the ice cubes or the lemonade . Tried the lemonade separately and this tasted fine. The man started shuffling bottles around and then picked another vodka bottle up and made the drinks again. With the same lemonade / ice cubes just a different bottle of Smirnoff. Tried the new drink and this Tasted as it should. Can’t fault how the man handled the situation as he did remake the the drinks numerous times . As for the women who served us first . She definitely lacks in customer service skills and might has well have called me and my husband liars with how she was acting and things she was saying

Good food well cooked and well presented. Well worth a visit, the only downside is the parking situatuion, however even this makes the meal worthwhile.

Had a fab Friday night here, the guy behind the bar is amazing makes you feel at home and is hilarious! The lady behind the bar is lovely xx

Went for tea with 18 family members and pre-ordered before we got there. First time here and it's local. Wish we had tried it before, it was lovely. The food is great especially the home made chips. The Staff were very friendly and accomodating. The decor is fab, really good with the Ship theme. Big shout out to the Chef for getting 18 delicious meals out. Cannot fault it and will definately be going back.

Very nicely furnished venue. They have an area for drinks where you have a good selection of largers and ciders on the pumps (not just your normal standard options). Lots of fancy gins to try and a newly renovated outdoor area. The other side is for food, lots of good options on the menu and can cater for all requirements, e.g. vegan,vegetarian, dairy free. All in all a great place to hang with family and friends at affordable good prices.

After a busy day emptying boxes, moving things 20 million times to put them back in the same place, showing new prospective tenants our old house (don't ask) and being let down by a plasterer again! The last thing either of us wanted to do was cook!

Found the Ship Inn doing a search on Trip Advisor, so glad we went. The food and service were both of a high standard. The food came freshly prepared, large portions and was really tasty. The nachos were home made tortillas rather than shop bought which is very rare these days, and the chips as well were lovely and home made. A great lunch.

Visited on the 26th may a sunday was 10 of us the food service was excellent i choose sunday lunch got to say the best ive had few had steak pie everyone loved there meals staff lovely too will be back

We have been twice to the Ship on a Friday .Each time we have been accommodated even though we hadn't booked.It is so nice to be able to go to a lovely pub and have home made food! On both occasions our meals were exceptional and very cheap for such good quality. I really can't understand people going to chain pubs when there is such a lovely place close by! Finally I have to say that the wine is very nice and again very cheap! Really pleased we have found this little pub and it is well worth the journey

We went yesterday for lunch my husband went to order the barmaid poured our drinks and the food I ordered was not ready so I had chicken it was awful the service was so bad when we got home I was ill we will never go back there

Friendly staff.... chatting wherever possible. 2 for £12 menu was great.... will definitely be back..... 3rd time we’ve been in the last couple of weeks. But the first time for food.... homemade chips are amazing! Roll on the next time we visit 👍

First time I've been in to say I live locally.The food is amazing,staff are lovely and friendly and the decor is very nice I had the vegan chilli,my friends had the lasagne and the steak pie,all of which were beautifully tasty.Definately will be going again Well done guys

I visited this pub yesterday with my friend after recommendation & I was not disappointed & will definitely be back,my friend is vegan & she said it was the best chilli she had tasted,the gammon & chips was gorgeous & cooked to perfection,the staff was really nice & friendly,,,,there is only one downfall but wouldn't stop me from visiting is parking.

Just had a lovely lunch with my mum and sister. Both my sister and I had the ship inn burger which was amazing. Mum had the chicken burger which she enjoyed very much (a miracle as she is very fussy). The onion rings were fantastic. The service could not be faulted. Highly recommend.

Went with my daughter for lunch as I lived close by.The pub was empty and cold.Ordered Fish and Chips for two, very disappointed,the fish was grey,the batter soggy, we did ask if the fish was cod,we were assured it was.I doubt it very much.The chips had skin on them so more like potato wedges.We did complain to the person who served the meal that the fish was of poor quality.Would not return or reccommend this eatery.

The decor, drinks and service were good but the food was terrible. It was over cooked, came out at different times and was not very warm. The nachos were good.

Went to the ship inn for my mum's birthday. Four of us booked in advance and went on a Sunday for the Sunday lunch and it was delicious we all had the beef and it was cooked beautifully all homemade and was very filling, would defiently recommend and will be coming back.

Rang the ship to book a table for 3 at teatime had a very positive response to my last minute enquiry ,that was the start to lovely evening meal. All 3 meals were cooked to perfection and served by very polite cheery staff . Will definitely return again .

Came to the ship for my friends daughters birthday 21 of us, everybody’s food was lovely, drinks equally as nice, the sleigh bar is lovely and cosy, and all the staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough . Thank you for a fantastic evening🙂

Decent Sunday Roast with well cooked veg, decent Meat but a burnt Yorkshire Pudding .

Organised a birthday party at the Ship, 24 people attended. We cannot speak highly enough of the staff and food, everything was perfect, very professional and the food was excellent. We've never been disappointed in all the times we've been coming here.

This establishment has changed hands earlier this year and in my opinion, for the better. It’s returned to being a pub that sells food instead of being just a eating establishment that wanted to close as early as possible in the evening.

Been to the Ship quite a few times to eat. Never been disappointed. 10 of us booked for today’s visit. Staff was very efficient friendly and accommodating. All of us enjoyed our meals. Definitely will be back again.

The Sunday lunch was really good, the beef melted in your mouth it was so succulent The Yorkshire puds looked and tasted homemade 3 veg ,roast and mashed potatoes,really tasty gravy and it was only £7-95,such good value for money Staff very friendly and attentive,

Myself and 3 friends went after work for tea. Generous portion size. Vary tasty home cooked food . Non of this rubbish chain microwave food. Good value for money as well. You've got to give it a try!

We actually fell over this place and decided to stop off and see if the ship inn served good food on a drive back up towards Barnsley we took the Scenic route rather than straight up the M1. My other half spotted this place just off the road as we were passing.

Can't believe it's the 1st time I've been in for years considering it's the end of the street where I live. I have to say I really enjoyed my afternoon, the food; I chose roast with Pork and Beef was served with Mash & roast tata's, 3 veg, Yorkshire Pud a stuffing ball and gravy (all home made & cooked) no chicken ping today was all delicious. The plate is full but not to over face you. The veg was cooked perfect for me with a little crunch, the meat didn't need cutting as it fell nicely apart with my fork. My mash was for me a bit bland, I don't cook with salt at home but I do like a nob of butter on mi mash. Roasties home made & really good as was the gravy. I finished with tangy lemon cheesecake with pouring cream, I would have at home had a bigger slice but it was enough to complete a very very nice Sunday lunch. £7.95 for the roast & £3.95 for pud in my opinion was priced just right. The place it's self is decorated really nice, it used to be so dark, it's got a lovely light and airy feel to it now in keeping with the Ship theme. The staff were all polite,friendly and well kept. All in all I personally rate it a 9/10

My husband and I called in the Ship Inn for Sunday lunch today. We both had roast beef, which was served with mash and roast potatoes, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower and lots of meaty gravy. The food was piping hot, the vegetables were fresh and plentiful. Staff were attentive and the food was excellent value for money.

Myself and my partner went for a lunch, based on good reviews. First impression, a clean pub and helpful barman. Unfortunately things went downhill once i started my meal.I ordered cod and chips which when first started was ok, but once I got towards the end found the fish to be rubbery and cold, it hadn't been cooked through. I mentioned this to one of the staff and was offered a free drink, all I was concerned about was whether I was now going to be sick, time will tell.This was our first visit and our last.

Business lunch, never been to Rotherham before so did a bit of research. This place came out in top and it really was good! Good food, good service and overall it was an excellent choice!

First time we have ever been to the ship inn and we were very pleasantly surprised! The food is amazing! I had garlic mushrooms and then the pie, both full of flavour and generous portions. My boyfriend had the chilli prawns and the ribs and chicken, again tasty and big portions! The staff are very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you!

I went her last week and had fish and chips and chicken wings to start. My girlfriend had pie and prawns to start. Service was excellent and the décor was very nice. Food came out in a timely fashion but we did not feel rushed. The food was very good although the pie was a little over cooked on top. Overall I would recommend.

We went many times last year with the old owners and it was always nice, when the new owners came in there was a bit of criticism of them but we gave them a try and was glad we did, the food is very good and reasonabley priced and we now go regularly.

Good food, proper chips, not too expensive. Had the pie which was very nice. Staff friendly. Car park is a bit tight is only real downside.

We went here every Friday when Paul and Andy ran it and we always had the sizzler rice and home made chips so since they left because of the dispute with Punch Taverns who own the premises we have tried it a few times . The new owners have made it a comfortable place with a large Television and new lighting and seem to be very busy . Meal are reasonably priced around £9 or £10 and a wide selection. Been tonight 5pm first customers and our home made chips had an unpleasant taste of cooking fat. Suspect they may have been left overs from lunchtime and put back in the fryer. We told Sam the manager who said he had tried one freshly fried and it was ok Well ours were not nice and ruined what would have been ok meals . Sam offered a deduction next time but nothing else . Paid the full bill . Don't think we will come back .

Visited by chance with my wife and opted for the 2 meals for £12.00 option. I would have to say the decor is really bright and airy and staff very welcoming and chatty. My wife chose the homemade lasagne whilst I went for the steak and ale pie. We weren't disappointed with tasty food which was topped with apple crumble as a desert. It was 32 years since my last visit and I can say I'll definately not be leaving it as long for my return

Four of us had an evening meal here for the first time since it reopened. We all had different mains and each of us said they were cooked to perfection. The place appeared to be spotlessly clean and the background music was varied and at the right volume for an eating establishment. Prices for food and drinks were very reasonable and if you have a CAMRA card get 20% off cask beers. There was just Boondoggle on last night but it was excellent. We all agreed that we would definitely return. Well done to all the staff, nice job.

Just had lunch now new owners its a lot better now than last owners the food was excellent very welcoming and a lovely friendly atmosphere and even better that you can have drinks only if you dont want to eat lovely decor a great addition to the village will be back

Greasy boring basic food, bland interior, no atmosphere. Pub pretending to be a restaurant. Not the worst place to eat but would not recommend it.

Me and two friends visited the ship for an afternoon get together . We all had the glamorgan sausages which were delicious 😊. The service was very good and friendly. Will be back for sure 😊😊

Just been back to The Ship with friends and my husband, all of whom haven't eaten here before. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We had the burger and scampi, meat pie and fish and chips. My hubby is Very, very picky when eating out. He had the fish and chips and declared it was the best meal he had eaten anywhere whilst eating out. The fish was wonderful, he loved the home made chips and also the mushy peas, which can be difficult to get right. We all loved our meals, especially the gorgeous homemade chips! All very reasonably priced. Made to feel very welcome. Lovely environment.

I went last night and had the chicken sizzler it was beautiful he had the mixed grill and he said it was very nice. Good portion sizes.The restaurant is very inviting nicely decorated with nice music played. The bar staff are very friendly.

We visited here with friends for a early evening meal. The ambiance was good and the restaurant was nicely decorated. This is no longer a pub so don’t expect to see a variety of cask beers on sale because there aren’t any. It is ver much a restaurant.

Me n the Hubby called in after a long day - we didnt want to cook! We hadnt booked but crossed our fingers as the restaurant had only just opened. Ive been before with family and friends but it was the Hubby's first time. As usual we got a warm welcome and friendly chat from the hosts.

Can honestly say this is the best eating place for miles around, from the moment we walked in you are treated as a friend. The resterant is so so clean, the toilets are immaculate. Great choice of food and drink nothing is too much trouble for the guys who own it, it's that nice we visit once a fortnight and have tried every dish on the menu, and yet to find something we don't like. The fish and batter are my favourite. Everything is homemade and freshly cooked not frozen then microwave rubbish. We take our family and friends and everyone agrees it's a little GEM

Myself and my mum visited at 12 today for the 2 for £12 lunch deal, the food is always outstanding & today was no different! I've been a few times & always tried something different & everytime I have been blown away by the amazing standard of the food! You get a fantastic portion size & all homemade food! Even the chips & garlic bread are homemade! I wouldn't ever visit a chain pub after finding this place! I'm just lucky it's on my doorstep! The owners are so lovely & pleasant & Paul always has a natter & makes his customers feel welcome & relaxed! If I could rate it higher that 5 stars I definitely would do!

Went for early evening meal for two.the place was very quiet at six oclock so we didnt have to wait long for our meals to arrive.my wife had chicken and blackbean sauce which came on a sizzling platter my wife said it was better than any i have cooked.i had steak and ale pie with chips and peas.pie was ok but would have liked to put on the gravy myself because it made the otherwise tasty chips a little soggy.had a bottle of white wine bit pricey for what was probably a fiver in a shop.having that meal cost including one desert was 34 quid so not a bad night out.next time gravy in a pot please

Decided to visit The Ship after reading good reviews on Trip advisor.The host was very welcoming.I had chicken in black bean Sauce,hubbie had steak pie,we both had chips with our meal.The chicken stir fry was fine but a little more chicken would have impoved the dish.Home cooked chips were dark brown and lacked crispiness,may be the its the type of potatoes being used.Felt it was a bit lacking in atmosphere but then perhaps it was due to it being early evening.

Fuimos para el almuerzo el sábado pasado nuestra primera vez aquí, guau, no nos decepcionó. Fuimos los primeros y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. La decoración es absolutamente increíble al crédito los nuevos propietarios. Pedí pollo madeira y mi esposa el pastel de carne con cerveza tanto venía con todos los adornos bellamente presentado agradable y caliente. El dueño era muy hablador, mientras esperamos y ambos disfrutamos de una buena copa de vino de calidad, para cada budín tuve la tarta de merengue de limón que venía con 2 bolas de helado que mi esposa comimos, delicioso. Lo fue ocupado por el momento que nos fuimos y así debe ser. Si no has tenido el placer de este encantador pub parejas que sirve una excelente comida y bebidas, entonces ¿qué estás esperando. Los precios son muy razonables y ofrece durante la semana y el domingo a mediodía. Sin duda volveremos y lo recomendaría a probar por tí mismo. Organizar una manera "media pensión" para los dos reuniones con nuestros amigos que viven en Darlington. Encontramos este lugar en Tripadvisor, ya que ninguno de los partidos tenía conocimientos previos de lugares para comer en la zona y viajábamos de diferentes partes del país. Desde la primera llamada de teléfono para reservar nuestra mesa el dueño era muy amable y servicial. La comida era deliciosa y muy buena relación calidad-precio. Tenemos tropezamos con una joya, se lo recomendaría a otros y sin duda vernos allí.

Went for a birthday lunch and we were not disappointed in the quality of the food and service. We've eaten here a few times, and travelling from Doncaster, it's well worth the trip. Paul is very welcoming and attentive and the place cannot be faulted.

Friday lunch... the fish and chips and salmon fish cake excellent value for money I would have paid £9-95 for this and have been happy ,nstead of the £5 ,the fish was white and succulent the chips homemade and so tasty lovely comfy restaurant I would highly recommend the SHIP

Visitó el Barco el 29 de julio con mi madre después de varias recomendaciones para hacerlo. La primera impresión fue muy buena. Realmente no hay problema mesas limpias y donde nos sentamos aunque el dueño nos sugirió que no sentarse en una mesa que no la habían limpiado ya que estaba muy lleno y puede tomar un tiempo para él. El menú era muy impresionante, con comidas que no habíamos visto en otros menús. Mi madre y yo elegimos torta de carne y nos advirtieron que había que esperar porque el restaurante estaba inusualmente ocupado durante ese tiempo. De hecho no nos estaban esperando largo pero me he esperado todo el día porque la comida era deliciosa. La tarta era casera y abultadas con carne muy tierna y las patatas fritas eran sin duda para morirse. Muchos restaurantes sirven patatas fritas congeladas sin ningún sabor. No estas oh no, estos eran caseras y simplemente deliciosa. En conjunto este es un restaurante muy acogedor, decorado con gusto. Lo que mi madre y yo volveré. Yo diría que muy pronto como quiero probar otras comidas que suenan desde este menú deliciosamente muy razonable

Llegamos como a las 6. 15:00 de no haber reservado. El restaurante tenía algunas mesas vacías, pero 9 nos informaron que todo el mundo era llegar sin reserva y después de revisar en la parte de atrás, nos informaron de que estaban completos. No había reservado la señalización en ninguna de las mesas! ! ! ! ! !

Comentarios este domingo almuerzo favorito son un poco prematuro! El pub está reformado y tiene un anfitrión muy afable, pero el almuerzo de domingo es bastante pobre la verdad. El menú intenta describir la comida recién hecha, pero en realidad sus pudines yorkshire congelados, hervir en la bolsa de carne, etc. En la justicia 6 libras un pop es ultra barato, pero prefiero pagar más por un buen asador.

Estar localmente estuvimos encantados de ver que el barco había sido reformado. Hemos visitado numerosas veces por la comida que ha sido bueno y la decoración es realmente bonito por dentro. Sin embargo, nos impresionó que el pub ahora no sólo bienvenido bebedores. El pueblo es deficiente lugares agradables para tomar una copa y el barco sería ideal si se abren más tarde y en una zona de bar en el interior. Los condimentos también se sirven en tarros de aldi! Este podría ser un restaurante fantástico, pero por desgracia es deficiente en algunas zonas.

Mientras visitaba una casa solariega nos topamos con este lugar y es un lugar maravilloso que es!

Pedí una silla alta para nuestro bebé, pero el anfitrión dijo que no "hacer sillas". Me preguntó qué hacer bebés hacer entonces. . ? La respuesta fue "tenemos un menú infantil! . . . "Un bebé no puede sentarse en el menú de un niño. Mi marido fue a conseguir el cochecito mientras un anfitrión muy grosero gritó después de él que no hay habitación. No hay espacio en un restaurante vacío? Decidimos ir a otro sitio, y estoy tan contenta de haberlo hecho. El hombre que lleva este lugar merece una medalla por la peor y más grosero anfitrión! Me gustaría cambiar este lugar sustituyendo el P en barco a un T. puedo ver a otras personas que he encontrado esta actitud exhibidos por este host inepto. Este no es un restaurante familiar. Si tienes un bebé simplemente evitar a toda costa. No puedo comentar sobre la comida, como nos fuimos antes de ordenar. . . Por suerte..

Booked for an evening meal last week for our Wedding Anniversary. Hospitality, food and ambience was superb. For good home cooked food and reasonable prices, this is the place.

After hearing so much about the ship we decided to pay a visit on our way home from shopping, wasn't disappointed, this beautifully refurbished & tastefully decorated restaurant is certainly the jewel in the crown for Greasbrough, a warm welcome & because it was early teatime not too difficult to find a table, but would recommend booking as reserved signs on most tables, we were lucky, what can I say the food is excellent, well presented, plentiful & delicious, I had the lamb chop absolutely beautiful & hubby was well impressed with his burger, well worth a visit if not tried here yet, we will certainly be going back & are planning to take the family for the much talked about Sunday lunch.

Decided in the afternoon to go to the Ship for something to eat. Had a lovely meal and very reasonably priced. Cost £70 for 4 mains, 2 desserts, bottle of wine and 2 pints. Can't go wrong. I've been before and will be going again.

Visited after reading trip advisor reviews, lovely interior, friendly staff and a we all had a very enjoyable home cooked evening meal.
