Loved the location, easy to find. Food was lovely, service a little slow at times, but I didn't mind, as I was in no rush. The pasta dish I ordered was yummy, but the panna cotta was average and huge! Overall a lovely dinner.

We've walked by this busy restaurant many times over the past year with the plan to drop in. We finally decided to try it on a low-key weeknight when there was little activity around the neighborhood. Our service was generally pleasant. There was little-to-no follow-up on how the food was or if we wanted more drinks. My companions had left while I waited for the bill yet still had to wave someone down. The cuisine was generally fine. The appetizer and pasta were delicious. The pizza: very unbalanced; heavy/weighted down towards the center and needed to be eaten with a knife and fork. We were seated immediately, directly to a crowded 4-top right alongside the busy main path when there were many other tables vacant. We had the opportunity to both watch AND hear every other patron offered a choice of whatever table they wanted, including several doubles who took the larger round booths. It's been a while since I've felt so ... dismissed.

We loved an ideal place to dine as a couple and with friends. It was a pleasant surprise.

Nice friendly place. We both enjoyed our food. My second visit so that says it all.

Called to order takeaway. My wife is coeliac so requested a pasta dish with gluten free penne. The guy who took the call said they were too busy to cook gluten free pasta and suggested choosing something else. When I asked what he would suggest he replied “well you have the menu.” When I asked why the pasta wasn’t an option he said it would take at least half an hour to boil the penne. 30 mins to cook pasta that anywhere else takes 8 minutes… So we ordered from Mangiare instead. They were also very busy but happily took the order and we picked it up 15 mins later.

Excellent service from Jonathan and the team. Atmosphere built up as more and more customers came into eat. Calamari to start, excellent, mushroom risotto and pasta with fennel sausage for mains, a lemon dessert and tiramisu for dessert. Washed down with an Italian Sauvignon. All good. Restaurant was recommended by staff at Jockey Club Rooms. Cannot fault the recommendation. Will try and visit again when we are in the area.

Didn't visit here but heard good things about the business

One of the best Italian restaurants in Cambridgeshire far better than some fancy italian restaurants in London. Food is superb. They care about the food and experience that you have in their restaurant. I suggest the parmagiana, to be.honest one of the best that I have ever eaten.

Awesome! Massive plate of the special ragu! Enough for 2 people so couldn't manage it all! Great seafood pasta for the wife. Attentive service despite it being fairly busy. RECOMMENDED!

Unico and the team seamlessly accommodated my birthday celebrations and 15 guests. Every course and each dish were of the very best tasting authentic Italian cuisine.

Best restaurant in Newmarket Fish Friday feast , fresh oysters , lobster and Reg Mediterranean prawns , you only see a fish display like this in Provence France and Italy . Excellent service and fantastic cocktails. Highly recommend

Lovely venue, very nice feel and set-up. Great staff, very polite, professional, and friendly. Unfortunately, food was a let down :( Seafood risotto greasy and without any taste, with lumps of rice. Pizza was ok but would expect more flavour in an italian restaurant. It feels like very British and bland take on Italian cuisine.

2 of us both had sirloin steak which we both found chewy and fatty. Not worth the money your charging I'm afraid. Previous visit had confetti in Sunday roast. Won't be returning.

Found a three-inch piece of plastic wrap in my spaghetti that accompanied the chicken milanese. We won't be ordering from here again.

Lovely food but service was shocking. Took 5 waiters to wonder past before the barman shouted over to acknowledge us. Got sat near the door with everybody leaving it open and nobody closing it. Had to abandon our table mid meal several times to close it ourselves. Was never asked if the meal was okay or if we wanted a second drink. Not enjoyable at all.

I have been here for both family meals and meals for business and this place never fails to deliver. The huge Mediterranean prawns and either a spicey pork pasta or a Calzone are fabulous. The house red is great also. The staff are welcoming and friendly and always make us feel valued.

Authentic and lovely Italian food. We eat here often and love and of the creamed noodle dishes, pizzas, and the seafood noodles. Their chicken with vegetables is also a good one if you're watching your calorie intake. We have tried most of the menu and all of it is really great. We will be back again soon.

Ate here today and food poisoning symptoms started couple hours after eating… I’m in a lot of pain and discomfort. I’m also pregnant and now worried this will affect the baby…

Authentic Italian experience in Newmarket. This restaurant is virtually next door to the Jockey Club, where we stayed. Although very busy, we were seated quickly and served by a nice young man from Puglia. Food was delicious and served promptly.

ABBA tribute event last night, well what can I say other than fantastic! The service was outstanding, food delicious, staff warm, welcoming, polite and helpful, I have dietary issues which didn’t phase them at all . Nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was buzzing in such a great way. I would definitely recommend a visit and will be back for sure. Thanks to everyone working last night for such a great evening 😊

We love this place! Newmarket food scene is fabulous, but Unico especially is a place to visit👌🏽 The staff are great (even the chefs get involved and are so lovely!), restaurant itself is gorgeous and the food is incredible👏🏽

Where do I begin… The staff are absolutely amazing, so so friendly and accommodating, especially Frankie and Justi! The food is very tasty, with a variety of different authentic Italian meals to choose from! The atmosphere is lovely too, the restaurant is very beautiful and you’re always greeted with a big smile and looked after by all staff. Unico is mine and my partners go to for any occasion, whether it’s a birthday or just a quick bite. Definitely recommend! Oh and definitely give Primitvo wine a try, will soon become your favourite!

Walnut and popcorn drizzle bread of the day, the popcorn drizzle tasted just like honey, but was nice. The veg with the liver and onions was very hard. Pizza nice. Prawn spaghetti ok. The atmosphere wasn't great. There was a group booking near us and they definitely got priority and felt like we were 2nd class customers. We were there when they turned down the lights and they put these little lamps on the table, we thought ours was too orange so we put it on the white light and the waitress came and turned it back to orange and then off...?! Service was also slow for us (not for the group), and it was quiet on a Sunday evening. Atmosphere definitely lacking. Wouldn't go back

Both pizzas and the chips we ordered were stonecold when they arrived, 40 pounds for cold food, I shall NEVER use this restaurant again.

I had a bigger party organised at Unico. Very welcome, friendly, helpful, nice and fast service. Food was excellent and portions really big. I would definitely recommend and I will visit the restaurant again.

A little expensive, the service was OK, food was banging

Absolutely beautiful food, very attentive staff, table was kindly found right away without a booking (it was a Saturday night). The downside were the toilets, at the ladies toilet seats screws were missing or questionable fitting 2 out of 3, and at gents apparently most taps weren't working. I won't give a low score for that although at this sort of place you'd expect more attention to detail and functioning premises.

Lovely food, friendly staff and a pleasant environment. Very accessible for my wheelchair (including the toilet). Would thoroughly recommend. 😊

5th time coming to celebrate our anniversary... Gentlemen at the bar that usually makes our drinks was not on shift today. Food was the worst it's been out of the 5 yrs we have been going. Felt sick after finding hair in the food but didn't have the heart to tell the waiter. Staff member who served us was lovely he was new but very kind If going to eat in the area I would definitely opt for El Guaca.

Have visited lunch and evening. Both pleasant experiences just for two and with extended family.

I took my 5 year old daughter for dinner this evening. The staff were fantastic, fun and friendly. The chef made my daughters pizza in the shape of a fish. We had a wonderful evening and look forward to coming again. The food was delicious

First time visit. Rib eye steak was lovely. Service very good. time to wait for seating 3 to 4 mins. Will be going back.

Everything was great about this place. The food, atmosphere, and service exceeded expectations. There's some street parking outside the restaurant and a paid parking lot within a 5 minute walk so the location is good too. Highly recommend for a date night or just a casual night out with friends.

Nice Italian restaurant. Tasty carpaccio for starter, veal for main. Only disappointment were the desserts, which were very plain. Service was pretty good, especially as we were a big table. Non-alcoholic cocktails were excellent. Kid-friendly, at least early in the evening - there was a large family birthday party on one side. Would definitely return. Bill came to £350 for 6 adults and 4 kids mostly three courses.

Unico is just like being in Italy with family. Superb food, excellent service and generous portions. If it's on the specials menu, trust it to be very special.

Great food. No awkward automatic service charges tagged on. Recommended. Quite lively so maybe don't bring your grandparents.

One evening I stopped to eat fish, what can I say, I ate better than in Italy, Italian cuisine with Italian staff. I highly recommend it even if you have to drive an hour.

Booked for a table of 11 for my daughter’s 18th birthday yesterday. Everything was perfect, the food, the service, the atmosphere and the cocktails that my daughter had looked and tasted amazing. I would recommend the spicy pork linguine, my daughter had the steak and she said it was like butter. My son had the chicken Milanese which he loved. O and they do an excellent happy birthday. Thank you for the perfect ending to my daughter’s special day.

So many times you end up paying for barely adequate service and food. This is one of the places where you will get the exceptional food and service you've paid for. Will definitely eat here again.

The food was delicious (we tried the deep fried brie, bruscetta, spicy pork pizza, fried and fried zucchini). Everything was very good, and the staff were lovely and very welcoming! I will definitely be coming back here in the near future.

I stopped here for dinner as I was working and wanted a quick thing to eat, staff are so on it and every single one knows what they are doing. I wad served by George, he made it super simple to order, I didn't even have to look in the manu, I told him what I'm thinking of and he made it happen, added some things that he thought it would go well and OMG seriously the best pasta dish I ever had in England so far, it was delicious, simple and so well made, I was over the moon with my dinner. I had an hour to kill and I was out in half an hour, such good service, the food came super quick and I couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you for filling my heart with joy.

If I could give Unico more than five stars I would. This was the first time we'd been here and it won't be the last. The food, service and atmosphere were all first class. It's a busy restaurant but we felt like we were given personal service throughout. All of the staff were excellent but our main waiter, George, deserves a special mention for looking after us so well.

The food was pretty standard, the service was pretty poor, it was extremely busy in there but they didn't make their service personal at all, just felt very rushed and all the staff had right faces on! The atmosphere was good, but I don't know if its because it was light switch on in the town that it was so busy and loud in there. I would recommend, but in my opinion the staff need to talk more to their customers, just need to be a bit more customer facing in all!

Hubby and I treated ourselves on our anniversary to a delicious meal here. Plenty of yummy vegetarian choices. Chicken was flavored well, tender, and savory. Tried the Popcorn Martini which had a cute sweet popcorn accent. Not inexpensive, but well worth the money! The place was decked out for Halloween and customer service was spot on. Thank you!

First time we have been to this restaurant and it won’t be the last. It is a very authentic Italian place with great food. Definitely the best Italian restaurant in Newmarket. Also the chilli oil was amazing. Great customer service.

One of our favourite authentic Italian restaurants! Super friendly staff with generous portions. The staff even set up the balloons that I had dropped off for our anniversary prior to our arrival. This one of many dinners enjoyed at Unico and its alway prepared impeccably. I recommend the calzone pizza its my personal favourite. Highly recommended!!

Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend if you are in Newmarket. Was visiting for 2 nights, booked here for our first night. Was so impressed booked again for our second night. Food and drink menu is great. Food is fresh and tasty. Best italian food ive had outside of ltaly. The restaurant has a real buzz about it and the staff were brilliant! Will 110% be back next time I'm in Newmarket.

Couldn't ask for anything more from an Italian restaurant, excellent food especially the pizzas! The staff were excellent and really nice and the place had a real buzz to it. Lots of horse racing royalty have been seen here and I met some at the table next to me, definitely a good visit.

I have only had the pizza here and it is of a reasonably high standard, but not exceptional by any means. The service was pretty poor last time I went with not enough staff and people standing at the door being ignored.

Absolutely love this restaurant. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and a friendly and helpful team. I had the Mediterranean Prawns 🍤 in a garlic butter on delicious toasted homemade bread to start, and then the Linguine Spicy Beef as the main. Both were huge and so good! They also serve incredible cocktails - the Bloody Mary’s are delicious! The Sicilian ‘Messina’ beer was awesome too!! 😀🍻🍺

Very large restaurant with an impressive bar. Food is good, service is excellent with well trained staff.

Excellent food and service! Wheelchair accessible with disabled bathroom (but tables are tricky to fully get your wheels under). Staff have great knowledge of their menu concerning allergies. Gluten free and vegan options are available. Coffee and cocktails are delicious. I would say "we'll be back" but we've actually already been back twice!
