An amazing food, dumplings with a great variety of fillings. Also a good choice for vegetarians and vegans. Lovely cocktails. Reasonable price

If you are a dumpling lover, you should definitely try this place! There are a dozen different dumplings, among which 4 are vegetarian and all of them can be requested also gluten free!! Prices are little higher than the average, in particular if related to the quantity, but quality is very high and it’s worth the money. There is a charge in % on every bill for waiting service.

I never thought I’d eat dumplings again after being diagnosed coeliac but saw this place recommended on ‘Coeliacs Eat out Too’ and gave it a try. Absolutely delicious with a capital D - gluten free platter of 8 dumplings, all so yummy it was so tempting to add more. Waiter also knew I couldn’t have the ginger beer as it had malted barley in it. This is a fun, perfect lunch spot for anyone, but for coeliacs it’s a bit of taste bud heaven. GF beers available too. We visited Fitzrovia one, plenty of space and service was speedy.

Food was delicious and great vegan options. Quick service and lovely to sit and take in the surrounds.

Having been meaning to try Ugly Dumpling for ages, I finally made it. The location is handy for shoppers and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating-but book for busy times! There’s a decent amount of vegan options; 3 dumplings plus a few sides and a platter and a good drinks menu too. Service let this place down, the staff seemed super busy and food was slow. It’s also fairly pricey, not surprising for the area but worth noting. I spent £33 on dinner for one plus a cocktail.

Delicious and great deal for lunch. The Dumplings were all very flavorful and had a distinct flavor. Rice noodles were very yummy and plentiful.

No issue with the food but the service was terrible - there was a mistake with order but they made no effort to correct it or compensate. Barely an apology.

Simply consistently high quality dumplings. We have visited a few times now and the food has always been first class. Fresh, well balanced ingredients. The satay chicken dumplings are a personal favourite but I’ve never had a bad option off the menu.

One member of our group mentioned their allergies twice to the waitress who assured them they’d be fine but when the food arrived said person ended up having an allergic reaction. Also the dumplings are mid but they’re definitely overpriced.

I would recommend booking for starters as it is a pretty small restaurant in Carnaby. There is seating outside, but was raining when we went. The menu is small, but that is great as what there is, is done SUPER well. The dumpling options are great - we shared a Classics platter (my favorite on this was the chicken satay) and a New Favourites platter (the cheese burger was interesting, but enjoyable) and then another plate of the prawn and Thai green curry (again so lush). I could spend a whole day here eating and drinking. There is a high turnover, with only having 1hr or 1hr30mins on the table, but you do not feel rushed at all. Service was great and the place is quirky and fun. I will certainly be back for more parcelled goodness!!!

We went for an early dinner, having booked a table online. If you want to eat inside, you should book ahead. Finding the restaurant was a bit tricky. Lots of twists and turns down little streets. We ordered three different types of dumplings and they were all good. We should have ordered the Ugly Noodles as well since we were still hungry after the dumplings. While everything was tasty, I would probably not go again because it was expensive for what you got.

I keep coming back again and again - I would go as far as to say it has become my favourite restaurant as it never disappoints, the dumplings are always spot on. Unusual flavours that you won't find anywhere else. The vegetarian platter is my go to recommendation, but meat-eating friends have raved about their dishes too. The last time I was here I left my bag behind and they very kindly held onto it for me until I had chance to collect it - which was a great excuse to stop by for lunch!

What an amazing find! This tiny corner restaurant offers the most delicious dumplings I have had. We ordered the Vegan platter, prawn and chive, and halloumi and mint dumplings with the Ugly Noodles. It was all delicious but my favourite were the prawn and chive. My daughter had the Vegan platter and was truly impressed. I would definitely go again and recommend. The walls are covered with drink coasters which are drawn and coloured in by the customers all based on a dumpling! Really cute. It’s a small menu - just dumplings and noodles but this is what they make and they make them very well.

Cute little corner restaurant. We got there as soon as it opened. Got seated no problem and were shown the menu. All dumplings, obviously, and a couple of sides. We ordered the meat platter and the Ukraine dumplings. Meat platter was delicious, however it was £15 for 8 dumplings. That's nearly £2 a dumpling. Dumplings are not expensive to make, so it felt a little extortionate. The Ukraine dumplings were filled with potato and topped with sour cream, tasty enough. That was £10 for 5 dumplings so it was £2 a dumpling. £4 for a 330ml coke...I know restaurants need to mark up to make a profit but its almost taking the piss. Absolutely lovely food, I would've loved to demolish much more of it but not at those prices.

Been here many times, very tasty and reasonably priced. Tonight however saw a mouse (or small rat) run out of the kitchen. Told staff, no one seemed remotely bothered or even apologised. Not sure I'd go back.
