I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Crook Bar and Bistro in Bridge of Allan, and it was an absolute delight! The authentic tapas they offer are was bursting with flavour. What sets this place apart is not just the delicious food but also the warm and friendly service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. The cozy atmosphere combined with the delightful tapas and exceptional service make the Crook a must-visit for anyone in Bridge of Allan or even those traveling through. Very much looking forward to visiting again on Sunday for the pub quiz

Delicious food and service is lovely

Quaint little bar with a kitchen who was issuing food in abundance, which smelled amazing. Nice friendly staff.

Fun pub right by the river in Bridge of Alan. Food menu is a pretty wide selection of small, shareable, Spanish tapas-style dishes. Friendly atmosphere and good service. Sunday nights bring a pub quiz, with a challenging collection of questions.

Sunday night pub quiz is amazing, and a great experience, brilliant night out . Staff attentive and very quick to serve you even when busy.

Had a lovely evening despite the pub quiz going in at the same time. Full pub but service was fast and friendly. Didn't eat so can't comment on that but what I saw looked good value.

Fantastic , friendly service and a great cup of tea and a delicious slice of chocolate cake for a mid-afternoon snack. A bit tatty round the edges but the host’s welcome and attention while we were there more than made up for it.

Was lovely, popped in for 1 and stayed the whole afternoon

Went with a large family group and the food was not good. Patatas Bravas - potatoes were soggy and the 'bravas' was non-existent but had some chopped tomatoes instead. Pork strips - over cooked and chewy. Spanish meatballs with Smokey paprika sauce - completely tasteless. Smokey BBQ chicken wings - burnt black. Cajun Squid rings with Aioli - saltier than the sea. Garlic prawns - there was no garlic. Without doubt, the worst tapas I've ever tried.

Food is very good but that represents a dip in quality actually. Very expensive.

Lovely place, tucked away. Smaller than expected, but loved the vibe. Came for mid afternoon tapas. Good selection and we enjoyed every dish. Lovely cocktails and gins too. Ended up staying till mid evening when it busied up a bit. Staff were lovely - attentive but not pestering. Would happily recommend and would go back if I'm nearby.

Croquettes are great but £17 sharing platter is very overpriced for the quality. I was hoping they would have more high end authentic choices such as iberico ham and perhaps octopus and paella’s. Better seating outside would be welcome for enjoying big jugs of sangria in the sun! Maybe I just need a holiday in Spain lol but if your doing tapas, do them well! Lovely cozy bar with potential to be so much better.

Fantastic bar and restaurant. Very friendly welcome and the owner really does manage to make this a fantastic experience. Food excellent. Lots of it and large tapas portions. Pricing is very reasonable. Would recommend and will be back.

Excellent tapas in a warm, cosy and friendly environment. The menu can satisfy all tastes and flavour preferences. Can pick one or ten tapas. The choice is yours. Reasonably priced and flexibility in ordering to help keep to your budget.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food and cocktails. We won a raffle and ate free but the prices for drinks etc were decent and it was a chilled wee night. When entertainments in the place is jumping with a totally different (still brilliant) atmosphere. I'd recommend it.

Lovely Tapas restaurant. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Visited early evening. Disappointed that two dishes we would have chosen were off due to having busy lunchtime(happens). Very light on garlic for prawn dish, hence only 4*. Would certainly recommend and definitely go back.

Great wee bar in Bridge of Allan, popped in for lunch and was impressed by the quality of the tapas served, lovely and tasty. Great service polite and very friendly. Would not hesitate to pop back in sometime.

Really great food and quick service. We were slightly put off though, after having booked a table the week before, being told immediately as we sat down that we needed to leave by a certain time. We also asked to move to another table (instead of bar stools) and were told they were all booked, however there were at least three empty tables the whole time we were there.

Welcoming and friendly service at this lovely wee tapas bar. Everything about it was excellent, from the delicious food to the drinks and music choice. Too many favourites to mention, we'll be back soon to try the rest of the menu!

We just found this place by accident - signage is a bit subtle as it's downstairs from the main street, but we're really glad we did as we had an absolutely wonderful tapas in a lovely atmosphere. The place is well laid out for covid safety as well. Definitely recommend for lunchtime tapas.

This place was so surprising, down a tiny little street next to a gorgeous river. I had never tried tapas before but even though the dishes werent huge each one was like a treat because it was SO TASTY. Perfect meal for celebrating a anniversary or generally just a treat for yourself.

Chose The Crook Bar as No. 2 son wanted tapas. I used to come here many years ago when it was a charming little pub. It still has charm and very friendly service. Food was good. It was a fairly quiet Sunday night but then they ran a quiz and it filled up. We couldn't wait to the end of the quiz (despite being in second place because I played our Joker at the right time). Would definitely go back. People can't get enough of Malky McEwan, bestselling author. His number one guide to Scotland 'If it Wasn't for the Midges' is available in paperback and on kindle at Amazon. Oh boy, another one who almost touched the magic.

A delightful establishment, nestled just next to the chimney of the massive factory in BofA.The building is a drab concrete exterior reminiscent of 60’s prefabs, but don’t be fooled! A world of continental food that will dazzle your senses awaits inside! Upon arrival, simply dodge the Malcolm’s lorries and various forklift trucks and find a convenient parking space in the pallet storage area, then walk round the front of the establishment via the fag hut. A broad selection of foods from all over Europe are available, the Hungarian goulash and Spanish lobster Thermidor with white wine are particularly delicious, although these are available only at select times, and the normal fare is curry, fish, curry, or fish curry. While standing at the counter, our party were interested to hear the constructive criticism of the patrons, one gentleman made a remark about the French fries “being like deid wains fingers”, the reply from the kitchen area was difficult to hear, but ended in the word “off”. So nice to see the kitchen staff engaging with their customers directly. As a testament to the diversity of this establishment, we noticed a few genuine Polish people dining here, as we heard the kitchen staff shouting “Rab the Pole, that’s yer egg ready”.We finished our mains, got a Bounty out of the vending machines for dessert, and made our way back to the hotel, all in all a very nice experience and we will definitely return.

Breakfast at the ucp is an experience!on arrival if u press the bell you will be served by the friendly staff who put Gordon Ramsey to shame .you have a choice of the continental breakfast consists of French toast or a full Scottish crispy breakfast all cooked to order in the deep fat fryer. Tea and coffee are free with your purchase £3.if you prefer smoked bacon you can do this yourself if you sit to the rear of the establishment and open the window to allow the smoke to drift in from the smoke hut .1 michellin star for the fried eggs

Delicious fried breakfast & occassionally the eggs are ready. Always a welcome tone from the staff & a wide range of world foods are served to the staff.

Nice inside but the portions are pretty modest for the price.

Found it by accident driving through Bridge of Allen and itsi utterly delightful. Great food, ambience, service and Moving Art on the screen! Vegetarian sharing platter highly recommend. 😊

Great food reasonably priced Spanish tapas good for sharing

This is a great little venue. It has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The tapas dishes are all very nice and are reasonably priced. My only reason for marking this as 4 stars is that they managed to lose our order. That said they were quick to come and tell us (and apologise) without us having to chase the order.

My phone decided to give this place a 3* rating but it's defo 5* everytime!

Visited this bar several times now, normally to enjoy some of the tapas style tasty food which is certainly above the normal pub fayre. The beer selection is quite varied as is the range of gins. Staff are friendly and attentive whilst the variety of seating and standing areas suits the cosy tucked away style of this well above average local.
