If you want a lot of food for a reasonable amount of money and are not interested in the ambience, this is the place for you. The thing is designed for students and the food is very good. Clear menu, large portions. Beer or wine has to be fetched from the - in our case rather cheerless - waitress next door. Water from the tap is free.

We went early Saturday afternoon, and it was really busy. Not many tables free! The mezze platters were popular. I just wanted something to nibble and was recommended the hummus for £6. Loved it! Couldn't stop nibbling on the fresh breads and plenty full smooth hummus, washed down with a Greek tea. The Baklava was also very choice! We need to go back to find out what the mezze platters are all about!

Tatziki restaurant offered a delightful dining experience. We ordered the mixed grill for 2-3, which could easily be the best kebab in Belfast. The flavors were rich, and everything was incredibly tasty—I absolutely loved it. We also tried the Greek meatballs, though they didn’t quite meet my expectations. The atmosphere at Tatziki really captures the essence of Greece, from the music to the authentic flavors in the food. However, one downside was the waitress who took our order—she seemed cold, as if it wasn’t her best day, which made us wonder if she didn’t like us. On a positive note, the cashier was very kind and left a much better impression. As for pricing, it was quite reasonable considering the quality of the food and overall experience—not overly expensive at all. I didn’t leave an additional tip since they charge a service fee, but had the service been more pleasant, I would have tipped extra. If you’re a fan of kebabs or Greek cuisine, Tatziki is definitely worth a visit!

Three stars for big portions, but it not going with taste. I ate gyros, lots of meat and chips but tzatziki sauce taste less, chips taste very bad and the thickness of meat was too big. Nothing special but if you just hungry and want to eat cheap, one gyros for two people will be good enough. Maybe just ask about extra sauces.

Avoid. The food was the most plain food I have ever tasted. Meat had no flavour, chips had no salt. For a place called Tzatziki, theirs was shocking, tasted like plain yoghurt. We got two dishes after a reasonable wait, then 5 minutes for the next, then after half an hour we decided to go because the last meal had still not come. Other tables had been served while we were still waiting even though we checked twice with the staff. Not sure what the £2 service charge for dining in is for. The only positive is that the serving size was okay, but it was not enjoyable.

I liked it, the value for money is good, the food is fresh, delicious and served generously. On the other hand, you should know that if you eat on site there will be additional costs and if you want to drink a beer that you have brought...because they do not serve alcohol there will be a corkage fee, so costs and more... Apart from that the staff is friendly and attentive... I like this little restaurant.

Weekday evening in summer we booked dinner for our largish group (5 adults and 6 children/young adults). Tonight went down well across the board. BYO wine from down the street is always welcome with minimal corkage. We had the Mesi plate and meatballs for starters per the picture and then thought we'd need two of the mixed plate for 4-6. True to the menu it was more than enough so we were fine to take away leftovers (I wasn't complaining about having some for lunch tomorrow).

I recommend it very much. The food was great, large portions, everything was well seasoned and tasty. Maybe the decor does not reflect the atmosphere of Greece, hence the rating, but what is on the table reflects it 100% and so does the background music. The waft of cigarette smoke from the streets really set the scene for what was to come. We were looking forward to this restaurant after all the rave reviews it's been receiving, however as per the last few reviews we can only echo their comments. Service could be improved, seemed very unorganized and waited at least 20 minutes until our order was taken, however they came back 15 mins later to take our order again as they must have lost the ticket. Probably was about an hour before got our food. We also received our starter at the same time as our mains however also our mains were slightly wrong as it just ordered the gyros with chips but got the gyros platters which costs more and bigger portions. Also noticed they got a couple of other tables orders completely wrong. We've tried Greek food in many places including Greece and other places in Belfast but this was our least favourite. The Tzatsiki sauce didn't have much flavour and pitta bread didn't taste homemade either, also the lamb was bit dry. It wasn't bad food but just lacked flavour. Probably wouldn't come back due to poor service and not the most flavourful Greek food.

It's always important to be honest in reviews, especially when a customer is paying so much for the dining out experience these days. We went here hungry after a lovely Sunday on the North coast, and in reality would have been better going elsewhere. Having asked was the restaurant BYO, I went and got wine, I didn't realise it was also GYO.... wine glasses, cutlery, napkins etc. The waitress was busy granted, and had no help initially, but her mannerisms and attitude were at times verging on rude. When the food eventually came, some chips were cold, the rice was incredibly tasty, the chicken was pretty bland, there isn't much feta in the Greek salad and you don't really get enough of the dips for such a large platter. Help arrived, possibly the manager, but as we left she was arguing with a customer over takeaway prices, and I noticed throughout the time we were there that a lot of food remained uneaten. I believe my face told this story and we were sent presumably a free coffee, it did come without any explanation and no one else seemed to get one, it was a little late on a Sunday for strong black coffee though, a decent gesture all the same (if it was)

Once you decide for it just go for it. Menu options are very good and plenty to choose from. It is also reasonably priced. You can BYOB and the corkage fee is £3. The restaurant is quite spacious and there are plenty of public car parking places outside. For the good stuff... Food is absolutely and I mean it is delicious. Fresh, chicken kebab is juicy and just so well marinated that it is a defo good experience. We went as a family of 5, 3 kids (9,7,5) We had : Moussaka with fries , greek platter with chicken and chicken Shawarma. Just to go further, the food is done over the charcoal, life fire BBQ so the place gets filled in by all the tasty smells coming from it. And then the hardest part... The wait time was 45 minutes in the meantime we didn't receive any updates or weren't offered any water or drinks. Also it took about 20 mins for us to place the order as nobody was attending our table. Finally after placing the order the waiter came back 15mins later to advise that one of the positions is no longer available. Overall our visit was close to two hours, we didn't mind it as we weren't under pressure but we have seen some people leaving due to no update on food time or long wait time to the place order. Maybe they were short staffed on that day (04/05/24) or weren't expected to be so busy. In my opinion, Food is very good but the owners should maybe invest in some staff training to become more customer focused.

She was very unsure and slow. Food took over an hour to come and even then was gristly chicken. Many came in and left again with no greeting or acknowledgment. Tables full of empty plates and glasses and when they were eventually removed the tables were not even wiped down. Husband ordered a coffee which never arrived. As my title says, we were not impressed. Firstly, their price list on their website is out of date. Their Chicken Souvlaki, which myself and my daughters had, is advertised as £13.00, it is not, it is £15.00 per head. Also out of date, is their 10% money off coupon, which I printed off. What a wasted exercise. When I asked for the bill and produced my money off voucher, I was told, they don't do this anymore. Time to update their website, instead of having misleading information. Secondly, they sting you for a £2.00 service charge, which is most mercenary and poor customer service. I didn't like this nasty surprise. Thirdly, most of the reviews are very positive (another reason me and my girls were looking forward to dining here), with one diner stating, they had just come back from Greece and this food was as good as in Greece. Hmm, no, I don't think so. I have also eaten in Crete and Cyprus and this is nothing like what I had there. Last summer, my girls and myself spent two days in Southampton after a week's holiday in the Isle of Wight. The Greek restaurant in Southampton West Quay's Shopping Centre, was on par with anything you get in Greece, but not this place. For the record, The Real Greek in Southampton was a lot cheaper as well as being outstanding. Regarding the food, it was average, but not worth £15.00 per head. The front door of Tzatziki, had it's main window shattered, as if some angry drunk (loads of them in lovely Belfast) had put their boot to it, probably thinking they were re-enacting John Thaw from The Sweeney. Once inside, rude people kept leaving the door open, which was a bug bear on a freezing February evening, as I had to get up from my table and close it a number of times. Even when the door was closed, inside was absolutely freezing and my food went cold in no time. Maybe the £2.00 service charge they sting you, should be put towards heating the place? Botanic Avenue never was like walking through a quaint English village and always had a reputation of being a bit rough and dodgy with drunks spilling out of nearby drinking establishments, but now it is a total slum, it has never looked so rundown, made even worse, with a large number of asylum seekers loitering about, which made my girls feel uncomfortable, and this was before 7pm! As far as I aware, Tzatziki is the only Greek restaurant in Belfast, so instead of being the only girl in town and make do, as they used to say, I would advise anyone to stay away both from this restaurant and Botanic Avenue and recreate your own Greek food at home, by marinating chicken in olive oil, lemon and herbs and buy your own Greek salad and pita bread, you will save yourself a lot of money.

DON'T GO! NOT ACTUALLY GREEK. This is actually Arabic food/kebab passed on as Greek in order to charge a higher price. I should have figured when I saw that they don't have pork souvlaki or gyro (which is how they are traditionally made). Instead it is doner. The owner recognized that I was Greek and started talking to me in broken Greek, which is when found out that they were actually from Tunisia but she lived in Greece for a little bit, where she learned some Greek recipes. Being Greek myself and having worked at Greek restaurants, I would NOT recommend this. All of the positive reviews on here are by non-Greeks who can't tell the difference between Greek food and kebab. As for the food, it was ok at best. I ordered the mixed grill and had a bit of everything. The presentation was great, but food was actually tasteless. Probably the worst tzatziki I ever had (completely unsalted). The kofta was also rather tasteless. The Greek salad was ok as was the middle eastern rice. The one thing they did do well here was the chicken souvlaki. Overall, the meal was disappointing, especially considering the price point. Also note that they charge a £2 service fee for dining in which is a little weird since it's not really a restaurant and more of a fast-food place. Terrible experience and definitely not worth the money.

5/5 stars! This is a hidden gem absolutely delicious food and the nicest staff! The owner Jihen is the nicest lady with a passion for her food and it shows in every bite! The chicken souvlaki was spectacular the nicest chicken I’ve ever tasted the lamb was also delicious! The greek coffee and baklava for dessert was such a treat I cannot wait to go back! Definitely worth a visit you will not be disappointed 👌🏼

I ordered a take out from here around lunch time. Great service, staff were friendly and welcoming and the person that helped me, was quite helpful in offering recommendations. The food was great, had the lamb and beef gyro platter, ordered a portion of halloumi for the side. This was more than enough for two people wanting a light lunch. The food was tasty but I think a little more could be done in the restaurant to maybe tidy it up a bit.

Service was quite slow and waiter could have been a bit more enthusiastic but they got the whole order perfectly. The food was fantastic and great value, especially considering the portions were massive. Would definitely recommend for a nice change from the norm!

Excellent! Casual dining but with tremendous food. I had the haloumi pitta wrap with chips and was to die for. Very cheap as well. They do BYO.

We had a fabulous meal here with friends, food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented and service was friendly and professional. This is a small restaurant with more of a cafe feel, the food being cooked in the same room as the small number of tables, but there was a nice buzz and the tables were mostly full. We’d definitely go back for more. It seems popular and we were glad we’d booked in advance. We shared a platter of meze starters including delicious dips and bread, and calamari, followed by the special mixed grill for 5-6, which was much more than the 4 of us could eat, but we were able to take the remainder home in boxes. It’s bring your own, with a small corkage charge.

10/10 unbelievable flavour and healthy portions. Friendly staff and a beautiful interior! Definitely add here to your list of places to try it was phenomenal. Ps the Arabic coffee is very strong. EDIT: last two times I’ve received stone cold food and a severe upset stomach from the last time.

Food: For what it is - very delicious. The fried feta, broad beans, and spinach and feta pie, and calamari fry were all tasty. Service & Atmosphere: The lady behind the counter was very friendly and tries her best to attend to your needs (and her coworkers’) in a busy deli. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Although the food was good, the restaurant had no options for a vegetarian with shellfish allergies! 2 dishes (steamed rice, stir fried vegetables/seasonal greens) were offered!

Never again, spent nearly £200 on dinner and drinks, you moved us from our original table when the band set up and then told us that our new table was booked. Nowhere else to go but stand at the bar. Very shoddy and the ‘kill babies’ graffiti in the toilet should have been removed long ago!!

Acabo de llegar a Hell Cat Maggie's. Me senté en una mesa muy agradable con una vista de la ventana del Ayuntamiento. Pasaron 10 minutos y no apareció personal. Juzguen ustedes mismos.
